    Q&A

A little more flexible like the anime, but the rule of four still applies to their special techniques. Running, dodging, etc, that's all just stuff the Pokemon can do. Also, I fully intend to return to this. I just didn't count on THE VIRUS fucking everything up with my schedule.

    Pokétopia, GO Fest Phase 3!

A pair of blue orbs shot around curiously as Keiko walked off with some of the trainers from her respected team. Sharing the same goofy smile on her face like so many other Instinct team members had. The salty taste of the air made the hair on the back of her neck stand with excitement as her smile grew even wider if possible. So far this entire festival was fun to her, she loved to learn more of the battling side of pokemon and adored seeing so many. Keiko was one of the trainers that seemed like she was festering with energy as she made sure to be in the front of her team with a few others. Keiko’s blue gaze wandered about the docks, only briefly looking to people as she was more focused on seeing if there was any pokemon to take a look at. The woman had her hands firmly gripping her hips as she walked, sporting a respective team shirt as her heels lightly clicked on the surface below. Slung lazily over her shoulder was her small camera bag that inside held what she prioritized over her pokemon. Her camera was her livelihood, she couldn’t afford to break her precious device as it paid the bills. Even so Keiko had built up a decent follower base from online postings of her pictures. But she couldn’t blame anyone for loving her pictures, they were of pokemon for Arceus sake! Who wouldn’t love pictures of them?! During phase one and phase two Keiko had focused on building her team and connecting with them. Her original partner was a Absol from her home region of Hoenn. But she decided to put him on hold for this due to wanting to meet more pokemon! Keiko honestly had never really saw herself wanting to be a better trainer in the aspects of battling. She was always so curious about it, so she took a leap of faith and joined the festival. During phase one she had only caught four out of her six pokemon, then during phase two the other two joined her team. Keiko’s team was almost filled with fully evolved pokemon but she could only admit she evolved only three of them. Roserade was her first she had gotten to evolve from a little Roselia, then she gotten Braixen to from a spitfire of a Fennekin, and finally her most proudest moment was having her Flygon evolve, which she had started her journey with it as a Trapinch, and her first pokemon she caught during this festival. Keiko had not caught but convinced (somehow) Houndoom, Vaporeon already at their fully evolved states to join her side. Shinx was her newest recruit and obsession as she never had a electric type before! The photographer had worked hard on training alongside her team and making sure they were well cared for. The silver-haired lass had learned so much so far about battling that she couldn’t wait to learn even more! She came to a halt when she got to the gate, her head whipping around as she saw other trainers. She eyed trainers from the other teams, the collected Mystics and the competitive Valors. Her nimble fingers started to tap viciously at her own hips, her festering excitement seemed like it was about to boil over as the waiting seemed to take a toll on the silver-haired trainer. Oh Arceus, why couldn’t you bless me with the power of patience? Keiko thought as she looked up towards the sky.

    Pokétopia, GO Fest Phase 3!

The moment that Bronwyn stepped out from the door behind another trainer, her blue eyes were searching around, studying the docks around them. The salty tang of the sea hit her, and she breathed deeply, appreciating the smell. Like the rest of her team, she was wearing an arctic blue shirt with a large deep blue decal of their team symbol on her chest. Most of the other trainers in her team seemed to have a rather stiff posture, whereas she was a little more relaxed as she studied the environment with a curious gaze. She was close to the back of the group, as she had been pretty much delegated towards the back to allow other trainers to go before her. Not that she was bothered, as she was brimming with nervous energy and thus was all too happy to let others go ahead in front of her. She was just glad that the stiff posture of the others allowed her to remain stiff with nervousness without attracting too much notice. She was still questioning why she had even entered this festival in the first place. She was not much of a battler, although she could hold her own at times. But she still wasn’t too confident in her skills as a battling trainer. It was her hope that getting involved in this festival would help expand her horizons even further and with any luck, improve her battling skills. She had already travelled to several regions, getting to meet new people and Pokémon, and learning how to care for them. This was the first time she had been here, to Pokétopia. Quite the opposite to battling, she was much more confident when it came to caring for a Pokémon. She had made quick friends with the ones that she had captured during the first phase and trained in the second. They had warmed up very quickly, even if Gabite had been the most resistant but her persistence had paid off. She just wished her precious Cayne was with her and she sorely missed his comforting presence. She was brought from her thoughts when they reached the main entrance of Pokétopia. She looked up, gulping a little at the intimidating sight but she took a deep breath and straightened her shoulders as she followed the rest of her team inside, chanting in her head repeatedly, ‘Get a grip of yourself, Bronwyn. Get a grip on yourself, Bronwyn…’ She glanced behind her and saw the three team leaders that were now trailing behind them, talking. She wasn’t able to make out the words, but while they seemed interested on what was Blanche’s laptop, there didn’t seem to be anything amiss so she turned her attention forwards again, filled with a nervous anticipation for what was about to come.

    Q&A

Oh, I have another question regarding Pokémon moves. Does it follow the rules of the game (as in only four) or is it a little more flexible like in the anime? And done, posted. Hopefully that's an acceptable opening post for her.

    Q&A

I'm gonna get one in, too, as Dian.

    Q&A

Grand. I hope to get round to doing a post tonight then. I'll likely have her in Team Mystic. I am going to have her getting involved in the festival, as she wants to try and expand her horizons. Granted, against other PCs she's not likely to win due to overall lack of battle experience. Either way, I'm glad Bronwyn is fine
  8. Adverse

    Q&A

Yes, sorry, I should have probably made it more clear. The inspiration for this kind of intro was some of the Pokemon movies, where they just sort of throw you into it while something is already going on. So, yes, the idea is that the characters would be on one of the teams ASSUMING they were participants of the festival, they could very well be spectators or whoever else. You can pick what team your chatacter on, if applicable. Your character is just fine, there's absolutely nothing to complain about.
  9. Neptune

    Q&A

I know this is in the realm of stupid questions, but I would rather ask a stupid question than post something that's just complete idiocy. I assume we introduce our characters as having come in with those three teams? And I assume we can pick which team the character is on? Also, I hope my character is suitable. I was going to have a pokémon photographer, but Karma beat me to it and I didn't want to step on any toes. Besides, I'm happy with what I've put, especially if it's suitable for the RP.

    Annnd, We're off!

We've officially opened. A few things, for clarification. I know that in the US, Blanche uses gender neutral pronouns. In every other country, she is referred to as female. This is what I went with. Also, I would have different font colors for the leaders, but I'm A biiiiiit color blind and would hate to put the wrong colors.
  11. - Trainer Card - Name: Bronwyn Age: 18 Career: Pokemon Day Care Assistant Pokémon: (Festival pokémon only) Gabite Vulpix Cacturne Swanna Galvantula Haunter Pokédex Data: Bronwyn was originally born in the Johto region, but her parents moved to the Kanto region when she was three years old. Her parents were owned a Daycare, where they looked after the Pokémon of other people. Thus Bronwyn grew up among a lot of pokemon, and was always curious to see the different kinds of pokémon that trainers would bring for her family to look after. However, she began to thirst to see the world and to travel to other places, to meet as many people and pokémon as possible, as she feels that the experience will help her run a better daycare, as she wants to one day open her own. She doesn't have many battles under her belt, as she is still trying to find her footing. She is a lot more confident when caring for a pokémon than she is fighting with one.
  12. Pokétopia, a wonderland for Pokémon lovers and Pokémon alike! Packed with attractions, hotels, games, rides for thrill seekers, shops, it's own Pokémon center and an unprecedented eleven arenas for battle, there was certainly no other possible place to host the final phase of the GO Festival! Glowing brilliantly like a beacon after the sun rested behind the horizon, large, Lapras-styled ferries finally dock at the entrance to the utopia after their journey from the mainland harbor in Canalave City, containing the qualifying members of the three competing teams, each of them eager to find out their place in the brackets of the battle competition in the final phase of the three day long challenge... Out of one, exiting ahead of Team Mystic was their calculating leader, Blanche, who was busy hacking away with one hand on a laptop, fingers working like a spider that couldn't find grip on a surface while the other arm cradled it in front of her. She stared down at the screen with intense focus, but navigated her way out of the enclosed ferry and out to the docks with eerie precision, her stride was long and quick. She walked with purpose as her team, clad in arctic blue shirts with a large, deep blue decal of their symbol emblazoning the chests. They filed out relatively organized and followed after Blanche. Out of another in the dock beside was Team Instinct, wearing black tees with their symbol decaled in electric yellow. They piled out, highly disorganized, but laughing their asses off about Arceus-knew-what. Spark, their leader, had a toothy grin on his face, his arms draped around the necks of a few trainers as they laughed together and generally looked more like a team than either of the other two. Finally, was Team Valor, who came nearly exploding out the door, shoving past one another in white shirts, their team symbol a burning red on their chests. Immediatley, they hooped, hollared, shouted "TEAM VALOR RULES" at the closest team they could, which happened to be team instinct, and carried on. After a long, long few moments, Candela, their beautiful, but fierce leader, came trudging out of the ferry, her fingers pinching the bridge of her nose as she followed after her team, not too closely. She had a legendary headache. Reaching the main entrance to Pokétopia from the docks, Candela glanced up and saw Blanche walking towards her with what she could only describe as fury. "Candela.", Blanche greeted her comrade. "Blaaaaanche?", Candela greeted in response, but with skepticism. Blanche always seemed calm but she knew all to well of her silent rage and didn't want to provoke the ice queen. "You don't seem well. Sea sickness? I have something for that.", Blanche asked, a brow lifted inquisitively. "No, no, I did fine on the trip itself, just...", Candela began, but glanced over at the gathering teams, Mystic and instincr mingled well but Valor seemed a bit isolated with themselves, but they would let out loud, prideful "WOO"s at any other member that would come anywhere close. Candela looked back at Blanche and gestured with her hand towards the group. Blanche looked over at the teams and blinked a few times, then, with complete disinterest, shifted her attention back to Candela. "So I was looking into data gathered from from phase one, when... It happened.", She began to explain. Candela deflated a bit at her friend's apathy, but looked down at the computer screen as Blanche turned it around to show her. Just then, a chuckling Spark came out of almost nowhere and rested his forearm on Candela's shoulder in a very relaxed manner, then let oh a dragged out sigh as he came down from laugh. "Spark, what do you make of this?", Candela asked, pointing at the screen as she looked over at Spark. Spark blinked and looked at the screen, his eyes scanned back and forth, then he stood up straight and put his hands behind his head with a toothy smile. "I don't have any idea what I'm looking at.", He said with the utmost confidence. "It's... It's...", Blanche started, looking between her clueless teammates, then her expression intensified, "It's the data I've been able to compile and analyze from the time of the anomaly!", she scolded, "I told you I was going to be gathering information so we could send it to the professor!". "I... Must not have heard you.", Candela said, sheepishly, as her eyes shifted back and forth. "I definitely didn't hear you!", Spark said, still smiling, twisting his pinky back and forth in his ear, "Didn't we have a few of the participants send some of those to the Prof anyways?". "Y-Yes, to study the creatures themselves, but that isn't...", Blanche began to stumble over her words and trip up a bit, aggravated and at a loss for words over her cohorts being careless on the verge of what could have been the greatest discovery in their careers, maybe their lifetime. "We don't know anything about them! There's no recorded information, no other documented sightings, nothing has ever been found in ruins depicting these creatures, they're not in the data for the Pokédex for any region...", She began to huff, catching her breath. "Relax, snowball.", Candela smiled and shook her head, crossing her arms over her very obvious breasts, "We'll contact the professor once we're inside, it's gonna take a little time for the battle brackets to randomize, after all. We'll see what he dug up, upload the data and bam, we can finish up the festival and take it from there.". "You know what I always say!", Spark winked, "We'll cross that bridge when we get there!". "We're... We're there.", Blanche responded with a confused, squinted eye, "We're at that bridge. We've gotten to it.". "Tsk.", Candela tutted, rolling her eyes back as she closed the laptop, then settled her gaze on Blanche again, "Come on, brainiac, let's just enjoy the rest of the festival, we can worry about that research once it's over, alright?", she placed her hands on Blanche's shoulders and spin her around, then shoved her forward a bit. "Yeah!", Spark said, hanging his arm limply around Blanche's neck as he guided her towards the gate, where the teams were piling in to meet up at Gateway Colosseum, the designated arena for phase three, "Our teams worked real hard, you know? Harder than I've ever worked.". "I don't doubt that.", Blanche responded, hugging the laptop against her chest as she was lead by the others, following after their teams.

    Keiko

    - Trainer Card - Name: Keiko Age: TBD(adult tho) Career: Photographer whose a part time trainer Pokémon: Houndoom, Flygon, Braixen, Roserade, Vaporeon and Shinx {{festival pokemon}} Pokédex Data: Keiko is a outdoors loving gal, she loves pokémon and tends to obsess over them. She reigns from Ever Grande City which helped push her obsession of pokemon. She’s a very sweet but easily excited female. Tending to be air headed at times. She took up photographing pokemon as her job to fuel her need to see and interact with them. She’s traveled quite a bit and took up battling for sport. She’s apart of team Instinct for the festival due to her spunky attitude and wanting to excel more in battle. Usually one of her pokemon are always out with her to keep her company, her camera is always with her as well as she would never miss a chance to snap a picture of a pokemon!
  14. Name: Viridian, Dian for short. Career: Trainer, Field Research Specialist Pokémon: (Festival only) Jolteon, Nuzleaf, Crawdaunt, Scyther, Sneasel, Luxio Pokédex Data: Hailing from the bustling Ryme City, Dian found himself more enamored with observing and interacting with Pokémon more than he did with battling. Make no mistake, in his chest beats the heart of a trainer, but he has all of the curiousity of a professor. As such, he took to traveling and offering assitance to the professors of various regions in their research of the species native to their respective region. Not bad as a trainer, himself, he entered into this new competition as a learning opportunity, naturally joining Team Mystic. The chance to see various Pokémon in the designated capture zones, the way trainers behaved outside of their comfort zones for battling with all new teams, it was all very exciting for him, but nothing was so exciting that word was breaking out of an unknown Pokémon in the capture zones. He wasn't able to find one while they were appearing for the limited time, but he was intrigued nonetheless and was anxious to see one up close, for himself. Dian is a fan of music and generally drowning out the rest of the world while he works, he is commonly found with headphones over his ears or around his neck.

    Our Story So Far...

The world of Pokémon, a spinning globe of wonderment! Home to an infinite array of creatures too varied to fully comprehend. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, meticulously fashioned by the forces of nature in all it's glory, as only nature can. No matter what corner of the world you find yourself in, rest assured, you will find Pokémon there as well; Soaring overhead, skimming the clouds. Riding the currents undersea. Sharing the mountains' majesty and animating our many lush, green forests. Happily making their home in fields of grass. Why, even our sprawling cities are teeming with them! People and Pokémon find common ground in sharing the goal of victory in the Pokémon battle, vying to become friends, comrades and Pokémon masters! Some such trainers have been recently called from around the world to join in on a new sort of competition, hosted by a Professor who prowls the world with his three assistants in search of answers to all of our questions about our Pokémon friends we share our home with. The GO Festival Pokémon trainers and the curious alike from every region gathered in the designated meeting spot for The upcoming competition that they were calling "GO Fest", which was to consist of three phases, working towards the goal of claiming victory for one of three teams, each lead by one of Professor Willow's assistants: Team Mystic, lead by the calculating Blanche, a team that called to the brilliant and the curious. Team Instinct, lead by the livewire Spark, a team made up of those who share their passions of growth and living in the moment. Team Valor, lead by the fiery Candela, a team comprised of those who seek strength and challenge. The competition worked differently than any ever before it, trainers were required to store their usual partners, as phase one of the competition was to observe and capture as many Pokémon as possible within the allotted time limit, then build a team based on your collection! Phase two was all about training your team and earning points for capturing miniature "gyms", the more gyms your team had control of, the more points earned. Phase three, where the festival has finally made it to after three days, is a test of skill, determining who is the best of the best in a tournament setting with a select few members of each team representing them in the heated competition. Along the way, however, there were reports and even captures of a creature no one had ever seen before. They were everywhere for a very short period of time one day, and the leaders of the three teams were getting so many calls that they were backed up several messages about the same thing; A mysterious little creature that could have only been a Pokémon... Right? The leaders of the teams urged the members who contacted them to keep it hush-hush, as not to alarm the other competitors or, worse, the rest of the world over the potential appearance of a completely undocumented Pokémon. It didn't appear to be much for the way of battling, so they didn't think too much of it, but intended to contact Professor Willow as soon as they reached their destination for the final phase of GO Fest; Poketopia! (This thread is not to be replied to. To be continued as the role play advances...)

Welcome to the world of Pokemon!

Pokéarth Obviously, Pokéarth is a fan term for the world in which Pokemon exist with regions to mirror those of our own world, such as Kalos being France, Galar being England, etc. This role play will take place across various regions and locations, which will each be added here as they are mentioned or discovered. For the sake of this role play and mining the franchise for all that it is worth, all regions, locations and cities featured or mentioned in the games are valid, including the Orre region. I may expand this a bit. Kanto Johto Hoenn Sinnoh Unova Kalos Alola Galar Orre Pasio Other Locations

    Q&A

It might be a bit obvious, but feel free to post any questions or comments here if you would like to get the public opinion on anything, or just if you don't want to ask me privately.
  18. "What is your name? Are you a boy, or a girl? What do you look like?" There are a few guidelines to be followed that will be noted here as far as the rules for creating a character. Pokemon is something that I, myself, am incredibly picky about, so you'll have to forgive me if I seem strict about it. Rules can be discussed and certain circumstances or exceptional characters might be shown leniency for some, depending on the rule. I will not have arguments. ALL CHARACTERS ARE TO BE POSTED BY THEIR PLAYERS IN THEIR OWN THREADS IN THIS SECTION OF THE CLUB. Original Characters There are countless trainers, researchers and baddies encountered through the various regions of Pokéarth, all with their own styles, personalities and choices of Pokémon partners. I won't ask for too much information, but the rules to follow when creating an original character are as listed: - Not everyone has to be a trainer, or even have a Pokémon of their own. - You can be a cosplayer, but Pokémon themselves are to be in their original forms, not furries, humanoids or anything of the sort. There's no room for a Moltres with tits here. - No one can be the trainer of a legendary or mythical Pokémon. There might be a place for that later in the story. - Shiny Pokémon are uber rare and, as such, are to be treated as treasures. No one can have a shiny Pokémon unless I approve it. - Trainer Card - (Image of character) Name: Age: (optional) Career: (Trainer, breeder, etc) Pokémon: (Up to six on a team, not counting what might be in a PC. The beginning of the role play will have different Pokémon, temporarily, due to the festival) Pokédex Data: (Information about your character, where they are from, if they have badges, any information you might find relevant) Canon Characters I'm a bit more strict on Canon characters making appearances. I may throw some in myself as NPCs, but for others these are the guidelines to follow: - Canon characters that are restricted include: Red, Blue, Lance, Looker, N. - Canon characters must have a team that will make sense according to their prior appearances. Bear in mind: No legendaries allowed. - It should go without saying, but don't act out of character for a Canon character. - Follow the same format for their trainer card as Original trainers. Bear in mind the timeline, in the Pokemon Center post.

Welcome to the world of Pokemon!

Pokémon and Battles - Pokemon are not to be portrayed as human, furry or anything of the sort. Pokemon are their original forms. - Shiny Pokemon are meant to be exceedingly rare. Let's keep it that way. - No one can possess a legendary or mythical Pokemon. An encounter with one in the past may be acceptable and several may appear in this role play. - We are not using Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Battle Bond or Dynamax... For now. - Battles don't have to be like they are in the games, we all love the excitement of the anime style battles where they make use of the Pokémon's skills and abilites outside of their attacks. Have a great time being creative and showing what your team can do. - Unlike in the games, any Pokemon can be competent in this role play. Obviously, some Pokemon will be stronger than others and have their advantages and disadvantages, but no Pokemon is useless. - Pokemon are limited to four attacks each, just as in the games. I expect you to have attacks that make sense for the Pokémon's type and existing move pool. I can answer literally any quesiton about this if necessary. - It should be noted, a battle and a fight are very different. A battle is a contest of the bond of trainer and pokemon, where they learn about one another, themselves and grow together. A fight is more life and death. - I expect if two role players decide their characters should engage in a Pokemon battle, they should work out how it will go on their own. Winning a game Pokemon battle in a role play will not get you clout, do not be a bitch about it. - There may be NPC trainers that are not meant to be defeated in certain points of the story. Don't get pissed if you get smoked. - TO BE EDITED PERIODICALLY.

Welcome to the world of Pokemon!

Timeline This role play takes place shortly after the events of Pokemon Sword/Shield in the Mega universe. For those of you unfamiliar with the super fascinating multiverse in Pokemon (which they have yet to advance the story of in SWSH...), I'll try to make this as painless as I can. For the sake of this role play, we will say there are two universes, the original universe and the mega universe. The original universe would consist of the events of games Red/Blue - Black2/White2. The Mega universe would consist of the events of games X/Y - Sword and Shield. Two separate universes and even timelines. The original universe took place several years before the events of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. We know this because Anabel existed in the Battle Frontier in Ruby and Sapphire and was pulled through an ultra wormhole to end up in the Mega Universe. Which is how she was able to go from this slightly annoying looking girl... To the black suit wearing Interpol hottie that we meet in Alola... There are several years of difference between the two timelines, as this same character from Ruby and Sapphire. HOWEVER, in Sun and Moon, Wally appears in the Battle Tree and has not aged a day since Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, meaning that May, Brendan and others are the same age as they were. This also means that the events of Red/Blue and Gold/Silver take place several years before Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in the Mega universe. Another way to put it. This version of May would be an adult by the time of this role play... ... While THIS May would be the same age. It might be a bit confusing, but this is the logic we are following. I can clarify anything If you want to ask a question.
  21. Officer Jenny says: Below are various rulings for different aspects of the role play and what to do/not to do. Any questions can be answered easily, just ask. Obey the law and we won't have any trouble! General rules - The goal here is authenticity. I love Pokemon, I respect the source material and I am going to do my best to make this feel like the most authentic Pokemon story that I possibly can. Not to say things should be taken too seriously. Laugh, play, be goofy. - Rules ARE going to change and certain posts will be edited as things develop in the role play. Expect this. It will always be noted when it happens. - There is a plot, there is a point. I will move things as steadily as I can. The plot is not to advance without me. While I DO appreciate creativity and coming up with new things to add in, don't try to take the wheel in the event of my absence. - I've seen the way some users behave when a partner is behind on a reply. You are not to pester anyone for a response. If they appear online and don't reply in a scene they have started in private messaging, that is one thing. In a group role play, where others may be waiting on them to advance something, we will move on without them. A warning that things will commence will be issued to the absent member. - Respecting the ToU, sexually explicit images of underage characters (even if they are drawn older or as adults) are not to be shared. Some characters in Pokemon do not have canonical ages and I'm not sure what the site's rulings would be with them, but it's best not to risk it if you are not sure. Sex Obviously, I'm not going to say smut isn't welcome, but I have rules for it that I expect to be respected, I'm really serious about these: - The goal of this role play is not to fuck gym leaders for badges, to fondle your Gardevoir or anything of the sort. - Sex scenes are to be done in private threads. When you're about to leave for one, put (Continued in (insert name of thread) ) at the end of your post in the main thread, and in the private thread do the same, (Continued (from where you were) ). This is for the sake of time keeping and keeping track of where everyone is. - Do not initiate a sex scene if you're going to take forever, or if you're going to interfere with anyone else in the group doing anything, such as if you're working as a team. I will creatively interrupt if I see that I need to. - Really, it's at your discretion, but try to not meet someone, grab their ass and expect to fuck within two responses. That's not what we are doing here. - No one is obligated to make their character have an interest in having sex with your own if yours shows interest. - Sex scenes are NOT to be constant. Meaning, I don't want to look at the club and see three sex scenes happening in tandem, or in succession depending on how long I was away.
