I Will Love You, Unconditionally {Shuya "Cheshire" Hideaki x PinkKitten}

Recommended Posts

Seha sighs softly as he listens to his alarm ringing. He looks with squinted eyes towards the window, seeing the thin streams of sunlight filtering through the thin blinds. Still exhausted, he throws his legs over the edge of the bed and stands, walking to the dresser to get dressed for the morning.

Seha walks into the room just as the bell rings, walking to the seat in the back and sliding into it. No one sat near him, instead filling the seats at the front of the room. He looks around at everyone, his eyes stopping on that one girl, Areum, the beautiful pinkette. He stops staring at her, hoping not to be found creepy if she turned to look at him.

As usual, Areum has awoken early that morning for her daily workout. Afterwards, she finishes with a quick shower and takes some time to do homework before heading out to her class. By the time she arrives, she's fully awake and ready for the day. Since she likes spending time to chat with her friends, she makes sure to arrive at least ten minutes before class begins.

When Seha walks in, she doesn't really notice since she's in the middle of a conversation with her dorm neighbor. For a moment, she has a vague feeling as if someone might be looking at her, but as she glances around the room, her gaze passes over Seha just as he looks away. Areum lets out a thoughtful hum and she quiets down as class begins.

There's a collective groan as the professor informs them that the new assignment specifications have been uploaded to the course website. "Remember, this is a three to four person group project! You're allowed to choose your groups so I'll let you guys take about three minutes to organize yourselves."

The room breaks into a bustle of chatter and movement but Areum doesn't budge. It's already pretty clear to her that she'll be working with the two girls sitting with her, since they tend to take classes together, anyway. That's a three person group already, so the three of them continue their conversation where they cut off earlier.

Seha listens to the groans resonating throughout the room, filling his ears with the sound of spoiled youth. He silently migrates around the room until he is accepted into a random group.

It isn't long until Seha is booted from said group for being to creepy and antisocial, which wouldn't work in his favor in group projects. He sighs softly as he sits back in his own desk, pulling out his PSP and plugging in some headphones.

Areum gives one more glance around the room, standing up as she notices Seha sitting alone. She glances around in confusion, noting that he doesn't seem to be in any group. But the requirement states that everyone has to be in a group!

The pinkette looks down at her groupmates and smiles. "I'll be right back," she promises as she stands up and walks briskly to the solitary boy. "Seha, right?" she asks, holding out her hand. Though they've never formally met, she knows most people by face at least. Not to mention, he sticks out like a sore thumb. "Come on, you need a group!" She glances at the clock, noticing that the three minutes are almost gone.

With ten seconds left to spare, she doesn't leave him any room to protest as she takes his hand and hauls him over to her group.

Seha simply pays attention to his game more than anything before the shadow of a person catches his eye as it falls over his desk. He looks up at her and removes an ear bud just in time to hear her ask him name

"Yeah?"

He almost gives a small yelp in surprise as she pulls him out of his seat and towards her group

He looks awkwardly at the girls as he timidly takes a seat between her and one of the other girls, sitting silently

Areum smiles apologetically for so roughly interrupting whatever he was doing. "Sorry...there was no time, though," she says softly as the professor asks out loud whether everyone has found a group.

"Guys, this is Seha," she says to her groupmates as if she's on friendly terms with the boy, which isn't true but hey, fake it 'til you make it, right?

The other girls look a little less than thrilled by this new addition, though at least it helps that he's kind of cute. Either way, they don't make any audible protest and simply nod in acknowledgment.

"This is Jisu and this is Mina," she introduces her friends so that they can start getting acquainted.

He gives everyone an awkward smile before looking down at the desk and twiddling his thumbs under the desk. He didn't expect to be pulled into a group like this, but hey, what could it hurt?

He watches as the professor excuses himself to go to the restroom, something that he did often and Seha figured it was became he couldn't handle the rowdy kids in the class.

"... So.... What are we doing?"

The class breaks into chatter again the moment the professor steps out. This is the only class Areum's ever had where a professor needs to use the restroom so many times. At Seha's question though, Areum smiles brightly at him, glad that this new member of the group seems eager to get started on their work.

"Well, it's a research project, so the first thing we have to do is set a time to meet. We could meet in the library cafe maybe?" She likes the comfortable setting of the cafe. The library itself isn't that much of a draw since everything can be found online, anyway. "Then, after we get some sources, we can decide on our angle?"

He nods as he listens to her beautiful voice informing him on what to do. He doubted that he would be able to force himself out of his room to go to the library, as forcing himself to go to class was hard enough. He nods and sits back in his seat, bringing up his PSP again

"Sounds cool..."

He focuses on his game, nearly blocking out everything but his groupmates and everything within a five foot radius

Areum bites her lower lip, feeling a little vexed by the way he returns to his game. She's not sure whether it's because he doesn't like her or something, but she'll make him like her. She wants this group project experience to be pleasant for everyone involved, especially since she was the one to bring him in, in the first place. Maybe it was a mistake to drag in someone she doesn't even know, but she firmly believes in her ability to get them all to get along.

Since that makes him her responsibility, she resolves to watch over him. "Where's your dorm?" she asks with a friendly smile, raising her voice just enough to get his attention back. "I'll drop by and we can go to the library together."

He looks at her as she asked where his dorm was and explains her reason for asking. He ponders whether or not to let her know before signing and pausing his game

"C37"

He looks into her eyes, his coal black orbs shimmering softly in the natural light that fell onto them through the window.

Areum stares at him intensely, as if staring hard enough will make him answer her. For a moment, it seems like he won't answer, which makes her wonder if she's going to have to dig through the whole school's registrar to find out.

When he finally answers, she smiles though her eyes widen as his gaze suddenly turns up to meet hers. The light dances off of her blue and green irises as she recovers and her eyes scrunch up cheerfully.

"Right. I'll be dropping by after lunch then," she says in a warm voice that somehow still leaves no room for negotiation. Her gaze lingers on his for a moment longer before she looks away at her friends to relay the meeting time and place.

He sighs softly before plugging his ear buds back in, something nagging at him to actually get out of his room for once. He shrugs and begins to play again, not really caring about the assignment at the moment. It's not like he would have to work on it until lunch anyway.

The bell rings to dismiss the classes for lunch, and he heads straight to his room, grabbing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich out of the fridge. He sits down on his bed with a book, leaning against the wall as he began to eat and read

Areum's eyebrow twitches as the boy leaves them wordlessly for lunch. However, she leaves with her friends to grab lunch at one of the cafeterias. She opts for a grilled chicken salad, wanting something not too heavy today. They chat a bit about this and that, and talk briefly about the project though like Seha, they aren't too worried. It was only just assigned, after all.

After lunch, the other two head to the library first and Areum makes her way to C37. Luckily, it's not too far from her dorm so it's not too difficult to find. She confidently knocks on the door, acting a bit more sure than she really feels. "Seha~" she calls melodically, hoping that he'll answer.

"Come in. The doors unlocked"

His voice was monotone and bored as his eyes scanned over the words on the pages of the book. He was pretty mentally invested in the book that he'd hardly noticed the knock, but the voice was crystal clear as it rang through his ears.

He flipped the page as he waited for the door to open and reveal his spotless room as he continues reading.

Areum inhaled deeply as she opened the door and stepped inside. He was definitely an odd boy, and Areum couldn't be too surprised that she had found him all alone in class today. Still, she figured he couldn't really be that bad. With a little time, she was sure that they'd all be good friends.

"What's that you're reading?" she asked curiously, not simply to make conversation. She wondered what could be such a fascinating book that he was almost ignoring everything around himself. And maybe that would give her some insight into what kind of a person he was.

She tried not to be too weird about looking around his room, though she couldn't help noticing it was much tidier than hers. Hers had, as she preferred to term it, a more lived-in type of decor.

He glances up as she walks in to only confirm his suspicions that it was Areum. He glances back down at his book as she begins to wander around

"It's... Nothing..."

He had purposely removed the cover just in case he ever decided to go out and read, which hardly ever happened. It still didn't cover the words "If I Stay" on the spine.

He watches her look around her room, and he didn't know whether or not she was weirded out by how tidy his room was. He couldn't function in a messy room like other people

"...Ah...ok..." Areum wonders why he's so secretive, but she doesn't question further, not wanting to be too nosy when they had basically just met. Besides, she has already caught a quick glimpse of the title and resolves to check it out later on.

She notices him watching her as she observes his room and she feels a bit embarrassed, a light pink flush flooding into her cheeks. "Sorry for staring...it's just so neat in here," she explains with a smile. "I wish my room could be like this!"

After a pause, she decides it might be time to get going. "Do you want to start heading to the library now? We can get something at the cafe. That's the main reason I wanted to meet up there, you know," she giggles.

He flashes her a gentle smile as she makes her remark about her room, a slight flutter going on in his chest. He looks back to his book, trying to take interest in it again.

When she suggests that they leave, he nods and closes the book, making sure the flag the page beforehabd and setting it on his nightstand.

"Alright, let's go"

Whenever she sees someone smile, Areum feels a pleased thrill race through her. It feels even better though to see that it's Seha who's smiling. Areum knows full well that he's not usually the bubbly type, so seeing him do that makes her feel special indeed.

"Great!" she exclaims as she opens the door and waits outside for him. The walk is only about five minutes, so she's already looking forward to getting a drink at the cafe. "Have you ever gotten anything at the cafe before?" she asks, since he doesn't look like he leaves his room too much. In Areum's opinion, he's missing out. "Even the pastries are pretty good, if you want to give them a try."

He follows her out the door and sighs softly when she asks if he'd ever had anything from the café

"Er... No, I haven't... If you couldn't tell, I don't get out much..."

He walked with her to the café, seeing her little group of friends already gathered at a table as they waited for Areum.

"We're going to change that today," Areum says with her confident smile. Before long, they arrive and she waves at her friends before stepping up to the counter. "I'll have two iced matcha lattes and an almond croissant," she says as she holds out her ID card to have it charged to her student account.

Soon, the two drinks are ready and she fetches the flakey, buttery pastry from the neat rows of croissants, cakes, and sandwiches. "Here you are," she says, beaming warmly up at Seha as she holds out one latte and the croissant.

He watches her ordering with slightly more interest than he had for anyone around them, which was definitely saying something. As she approached him with the latte and croissant, he hesitantly takes them, giving an awkward smile before speaking

"Thanks, but you didn't have to..."

He decided to stop while he was ahead, cutting himself off with an awkward bite to the end of the croissant.

Itd was delicious and the taste of the  confectionary treat danced over his tongue. He looks at her and smiles with a small crumb on this upper lip

The girl waved off his thanks. "It's nothing! You need to try this, after all." Areum watches Seha intently as he tries his first bite of croissant. She absolutely can't imagine him not liking it, but she has to know for sure.

Her face lit up to see him smile again. He did like it! Areum was both thrilled and flattered to think that she had shown him something new. Plus, his smile really was quite cute.

She let out a soft giggle when she saw that the crisp pastry had left a crumb on his lip, and without even thinking, she leaned over with a napkin, dabbing at it gently. "There's just a small...there we go!" It took her a moment to realize what she had just done and she flushed. "O-Oh...sorry, I wasn't thinking at all..."
