I joined.

Now some questions:

1. What do we do about the old posts from the original rpg?

Is there a way to archive text files in this forum?

(I managed to download every single post)

2. Are there any functions such as datatables

or ways to link like I did in the original rpg?

3. Are polls possible? Or do we need to use some other free poll service?

4. Is there a data-limit on the size of posts? or on how much can be saved on the forum?

How do I delete my own posts?

1.  That's the biggest complication.  Probably one that does not have an especially quick or easy solution, unless you mean you already have them in a more convenient format.  Outside of copying them all to text files and copying those to separate posts here, I'm not sure if there is a better way.  It probably deserves its own tab if we can do that.

2. The lack of databases is probably the biggest downside here.  I don't know if there is a good way to semi-replicate that.

3. Polls are possible, though they are more limited in the number of choices per poll than Yahoo was.  I'll add a section for those shortly.

4. I've never run into a post size limit before.  Though if there is, its rather high, considering it let me copy my monster of a character profile list into a single post (Figuring out how to categorize things and how many other/which tabs to make is what has held me back on the other files).  As far as total total forum size, I know their private RPs have a size limit, but I don't think there is a limit here.

Unfortunately, they don't like people truly deleting things it seems.  The 'hide' option seems to be the best you can do.

I don't have it in a more convenient format... I have it all saved as text files.

Only thing I can think of for now would be to always save all new posts on our computers as well as creating an external database? Maybe using a service such as: https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/

To store it at. However I'm not sure if onedrive allows the of of porn text we write?

That is sad.

That is bonkers. I noticed that it is possible to delete messages and comments on your feed here, so it is weird if it isn't possible to delete actual posts.

Well I though I was going to make more tabs, but I guess it won't let me.  That makes it easier to figure out where to put the files.  And as far as polls go, each time you start a topic, you have the option of making it a poll.

mmm. As for threads It might be easier on this forum to streamline it. Example we could create a thread with a subgroup on it. This way we could create a topic for each timeline.

Speaking of which, what type of things are you able to do as the creator of this group?

I just upgraded you to the second highest member level.  I know I've seen a list describing what each level can do before, but I'm having hard time finding it again, I'll post a link to it if I can find it.  I'll also try to get to some more files posted over the weekend, especially since we are slowly starting to get more members and I suspect they will want a little before jumping in if they are going to.

I've been getting a lot of the files posted, combining some in a few cases and with minor rewording (fixing old spelling errors and occasionally removing references that made since at the time they were written but don't fit as well here, especially for new members).  Your character profiles was at least one thing I was not planning on posting though, I'll leave that up to you for how you want to post them.

Lost track of time significantly there, kept thinking it hadn't been as long as it had.  Trying to force myself not to do that again here.  Really trying to get away from those long gaps.  Going to bump this back and start thinking about how to pick things back up again (and see if bumping this up brings in any additional members).

Greetings! I must admit; this sounds very intriguing to me. What can I do to get myself situated and set up to play?~

That's a good question.  I suppose it depends on what you want to play.  Reading this thread would be a good a starting point, if you didn't already, it was my attempt to condense all the most important information into a short (compared to everything that has been written) summary:

https://ecchidreams.com/community/topic/3873-new-member-info-elaboration/

After that, ask any questions you might want and once we have some idea of what you want to play you can find the blank character profile here:

https://ecchidreams.com/community/topic/2547-blank-character-profile/

And probably start a new topic in that section with the filled out profile.  Figure we should separate profiles by member.  You could also look over my long list of character profiles if you want.  There is also a separate thread in that section with a few optional possibilities for character suggestions, though you certainly don't have to do any of those.

It is actually written in the notes... but I guess it is hard to find. Anyway, you can actually play as multiple characters in the rpg... the amount you can play is based on the amount of time and effort you are willing to place in the rpg. As such, my suggestion to all new players is that it is better to make your first character... "normal". Normal does not mean that the character can't be special or have any powers... rather, in order for a person to attend the academy they would need to be special in some way. However that does not mean that making them the child of a god would be a good idea. Please read through the notes carefully and if you have any question about the races etc, feel free to send me a message privately and I will answer any of your questions.

As an example... what are "vampires"? What are elves? What exactly are the gods, demons and angels?

Since the rpg has been going on for over 20 years now it has mutated. To solve this issue and to make it easier we have "the truth" and then we have "the recorded truth".

The Truth is actually very sparse and even then it is subject to interpretation... however the recorded truth is what is known in the rpg and even then not always agreed upon. To explain this it can be summed up as being this way because of Chaos... I.E Lady Ambiguity. Anyway, this is how any misconceptions are explained. So if you see anything that does not make any sense... it is because of this. 🧐

Now as for the whole God and Titan thing.

The reason why a player that have just joined is greatly discouraged from starting out as playing as one is because they are in essence more of a stage-prop. The gods are only limited by the restrictions that they have put on themselves. In a school setting if a god started throwing around powers, the school and everyone in it would probably get destroyed within less than a minute. So what is the problem? Well, basically as a god you can do whatever you like. This is a problem since you could just ignore the setting. Anyone not a god that fought you would always lose... which would be unfair... and if another god fought you the school would get destroyed. So no, playing as such a character in the academy setting is no good. In the future setting however this can be negotiated I guess?

The other problem is that there is only three ways your character could be descended from a god.

1. Your character is the child of one of the three gods that were banned from heaven. (Lady ambiguity does not count). Those gods were Maxim Urbanus and Ryouseiku. Furthermore the child could only be the product of a mating between a god and an angel since like I said... there were only three gods that were fallen and non of them had sex with eachother (Creation of Ashkray is different)... Human's don't work either since a god would not be created from such a union. Only outcome would either be a normal human or an abomination. This is why Su-chi was so special since she was the product of careful breeding over millennia until finally she was born as a half-goddess. Urbanus had in truth continued to have sex with all her ancestors until he finally got the child he wanted. This however is not something that is possible... because Su-chi is special.

2. Born in the future timeline. This is your best bet if you insist on playing as a godling... and better yet now you can be a product of two gods mating. The reason is because the ban was lifted somewhat in the future. The problem is... this also means that you will only be able to play with that character in the future timeline so there will be no academy setting for this character.

3. The godling was born back when the gods walked the earth. However while some gods were indeed creating new gods... the number was not THAT big. However it was big enough and it made Augustin ban the creation of any more gods. The most powerful of all the new gods (and the firstborn) was Ashkray... and he was created as a means to run and control the roots of evil in hell. Anyway... such a character would be at least over a hundred thousand years old. (we never did specify when the gods left for heaven)

-----------

anyway I hope that helps. Oh and just two more thing. Hell is not what you think it is and the angels serve the gods, however if you want to know the full story, please read the history annotations in the notes. I think I included them? If not, I will have to do it in the future.

A few other people have been PMing me about this (though one of them may have lost interest, the one who posted a character profile). I had basically said the same thing to another about recommending ordinaryish human characters, at least at the start.  That a non-human is much more likely to know what is going on in the background and be aware of things a newer member likely would not.  Not everything of course, but a lot more than other characters.  Also, in the case of gods I made the point that the pantheon is essentially established and only a few have a somewhat more active role.  Demi-gods are of course more plentiful (especially in the future) but has the problem of other non-humans.  And there were unlikely to be more the position Su-Chi was way back at the start.

The one who might still be interested asked me about the practicality of a robot.  Which I have not commuted to an answer on either way yet.

We could never have a full reboot. At best we could have a soft reboot which in essence would just be a us replaying some of the more important scenes.

As an example, the key aspects of what happened would still have taken place... The difference would mainly be in how and when it took place. Basically the only thing that really would have been affected would be the Ranna scenario.

I'll send you a rundown of my idea privately today. Please read it and then tell me what you think.

Basically the main change would be that Ranna got the curse a little earlier which resulted in her getting sent to the academy at an earlier date.

This would only affect Ranna... However it would indeed allow for new players to "start from the beginning" while keeping all the Su-chi story intact.

Ranna arrives at school when she is 15 now. This means there would be over a year of "playtime" before Haiko, Su-chi and even Adalia even show up.

What do you think of this sort of reboot? It would be almost a prequel of sorts?
