The safest haven for the buccaneers of the Caribbean.
Here you may rest, drink, whore, sell and hire crew. Basically, anything goes here and any trouble you stir up is on you.
A great place for new rumors, jobs and anything in between.

Ahh Tortuga, where you're just as likely to get mugged on the street as propositioned by a hooker. The final bastion of lawlessness where a man could do as he wished whenever he wished. This was the town that Blake was entering. As she stepped off the ship, she took in a deep breath of the air, enjoying the salted winds as they carried the ocean's breeze through the streets, her knife like ears that denote her an elf twitching as she walks down the steps, face set into a curious smile as she begins walking down the streets. Now, she just needed to find some lodgings for the night, and she'd be set to look for a crew to take her in.

As per usual, there is always plenty of noises, people and partying going on at any harbour of Tortuga. This one is no exception either as plenty of drunken sailors try to walk around or even just sit upright in their current state. Thankfully, there is no obvious trouble around and the closest to it are some buddies who are just wrestling or doing light fisticuffs, but in a manner where it's obviously just for the fun of it.

There are always plenty of places to drink, barter, hang out, drink, lodge, play games and to drink. One of the closest places near captain Blake being a rather warm and busy looking place called "The Sticky Beaver", which is known for very fair prices and lovely live music most evenings.

Even with the various Equity Acts that are in place for humans and non-humans alike, most places aren’t exactly safe when you are a 6’6 Minotaur. People are just as likely to try and kill ya because you scare the hell outta ‘em as they are to kill ya to prove something.
That’s why Tortuga was better than most places. Minotaur or human priest...you have the same odds to be mugged or worse.

Bruce had come to shore by small row boat. His last ship and crew were no more. One day you are a conqueror...the next you are conquered. He was happy to be alive, still have the clothes on his back, and a few coins he had stashed away. Bruce was no coward he had fought until the last. He only survived because he had been lucky... He had been thrown from the ship by friend not foe. A small row boat was nearby. He had been rowing for nearly four days now. His pet, Ska, had scavenged food for them.
Now on dry land, he would look for rest and a new crew.

OOC: Equity acts? Please don't put in any lore out of nowhere please. Unless you are talking some sort of historic thing about the time period I am unaware of?

It's stil fairly early at day, being around noon and there is already plenty of bustle, hustle and activity in general all around, No one has much time to look after and care about a single rowboat coming upon land near one of the coastal cities. With all of these people around here, there are good chances to find anyone seeking another crew member,

Giggling as she witnesses all the people going about their days noticing a variety of little wounds here and there, and licking her lips at the light violence Loving seeing people have fun hurting each other. As she continues to strut, her pointy ears make out the music from the Place, "Sticky Beaver huh?" She asks with a tilt of the head and a smile. "Sounds like an innuendo." She giggles once more before she heads off inside of it, hoping to find a captain in search of her services~

The tavern is lively and with lots of people in it already. The music is nice and catchy. All sorts of stuff is happening around her, such as arm wrestling, gambling, 5 finger filet and so on. Among many other hardened sailors, most of which not fond of the navies, are very occupied with their various activities. There are a few here who could look like they are indeed captains. One of them being a rather loud mouthed and likely drunk female one. She appears to be in some kind of drinking contest as many empty shot glasses are turned upside down on a table and with plenty more to be emptied."Hahaha! One more!", "One more!", "Ooooone moooore!", she bellows out over and over, seemingly without having to stop between drinks.

It had been early in the day when Briggs arrived at the island of Tortuga, carrying a pound which contained the pearls he needed to sell. All around him was the sounds of people fighting and carrying on. They were all having a good time letting off some steam after a long voyage no doubt. Still  he wanted to be like them, carefree and happy on the open sea. It wasn't long before he sold his wares of a nice chunk of change he put in his pouch and clutched tightly in his hand. Instead of going straight back to his ship he opted to explore the island, being careful not to wander too far. Though some time had passed and so he though why not treat him self to a drink. fortunately for him no shirt no shoes no service did not apply on the island, for he didn't have any of those things, dressed in only a raggedy pair of pants with his diver's cloth underneath. He saw a watering hole with the sign that says"Sticky Beaver." He pondered going in" I wonder why the beaver is sticky?" He said to him self before going inside to see all manner of bar games in progress, and once woman playing a drinking game, they look like they might be a crew of some ship he thought in his naïve mind. So he went up to the bar and ordered a shot of rum for him self, standing blankly as the bar tender made his drink.

For good and for bad, even ones like him didn't stand out too much in places like this. Luckily, it usually means you can stay out of trouble you are not too involved with. The people around him are quite focused on their individual things, letting him go about his business. The bartender is wide and very muscular guy with an eye patch and currently washing a glass (as cleanly as a place like this can get it and warrants for). He takes the order of the shirtless guy."Good evening guv'nah! The day treatin' you ah'right?", he asks.

"Neigh, I lost me shirt and shoes in the gambling hall good sir." This was an obvious joke, it was common for islanders to walk around the island with little clothes, being because of the heat or not wanting to get their clothes wet as pearl divers or repair men. " How's the tavern life treating ya?" He asks standing at the bar calmly waiting for the bartender to finish cleaning the glasses and serve him his rum. He was in no hurry to get back to his boat and back to the same routine. As he waited he took a look around the bar seeing the patrons dancing, fighting, playing drinking games, or going into the back rooms to have a go at the wenches. It was adventure he craved and he really had no qualms giving up the peaceful island life in search of adventure on the high seas.

A few more minutes pass by as the bartender makes the glasses look almost clean and useable. Then he pours the drink for the man speaking to him."There ya go. May it warm yah belly and make yah nice and giddy. Well, disregarding broken funiture and all of the cleaning, ah can't complain too much, yah know? Ah am very fine with not risking mah life out there and just enjoying all the stories people come here with. What do yah do for coin? Anything exciting?", he inquires back as he does not remember this particular person and he likes to be well informed as well being very curious.

"I certain can use the pick me up," He listened to the bartender talk about how his furniture gets broken and the constant cleaning he has to do, and how he would rather spend his life listening to the sea stories of his patrons than risk it out on the open sea. He tilted his glass up and drank it all down in one gulp giving his chest a quick pound "Woooof! Nothing too exciting I'm a pearl diver by trade, but I know how to fix ship. There aren't any stories where I came from unless you like 'I dove off  clif, this high," and 'I caught a fish this big' That's why I wanna get out there man, not even the stories are good. I just wanna hit the sea fighting and fucking my way to freedom and fortune."

The bartender gives a hearty chuckle at him trying to describe his vast and exciting adventures, not really used to getting pearl divers in his establishment."Well, then...yah came to the right place then. Ah'm sure there are always captains lookin' for more crew for their ships. That there is Cassia....who commands Angelo de Muerta and Ah'm fairly sure James Peterson could use some as well. Both very experienced and capable captains. So the question is rather who you want to serve under - both are certainly makin' great coin ah'm sure", the bartender informs the young man.

"Either of them around?" He asked his stoic unwavering demeaner cracked when his eyes scrunched inquisitively, looking around the bar for anyone who might look like a captain, as if he's ever seen a pirate captain before. He looks back at the bartender and listens in for what he has to say.

The bartender gives him a strange look as he literally had pointed the female captain out to the stranger. Once more, he motions towards the female captain who is engaging in a rum shot contest still and apparently doing pretty darn well at that too, as she basically has endless stomach for that particular beverage."As for the other one, Ah'm certain that Ah heard him being on Tortuga these days as well. So Ah guess it depends on who yah wish to chat up and try to be recruited by really", he answers him back, hoping it was more clear this time around.

He gives  the bartender a strange look back wondering what that was for, he wasn't used to booze so the little bit he did have made his mind wander and he didn't even realize he was pointing her out, he just listened somewhat while he took in the environment, even then the place was ruckus and loud and anyone would have a hard time hearing over rowdy shouting pirates. He then directly points out the captain engaged in a rum contest, whom he didn't take for more than a drunk. "Well if I get turned down by here then I can look around the island for the guy." With a simple "do what ya gotta do" shrug  He tipped the bartender," Thanks for the help, hopefully you can get a good meal off this." He said flipping the bartender a shiny gold coin, then took the rest of his drink and gathered around to watch the rum contest, being so bold as to stand in the crowd of strangers and getting a good look at the contest.

The bartender thanks the stranger for the coin and lets him get on with his night and soon enough he is engaged in a conversation with other people as his position is a popular target for rumors, gossip and general chatter.

Not far from there, where Cassia is seated by a small table with a man on the other side, there are plenty of empty shot glasses with the bottom upwards. The pearl fisher counts at least 20 on both sides, with around 15 more to go still. A sharp voice comments on the contest as the female captain and her opponent grab more and more full glasses and down them. The man looks pretty darn drunk while Cassia looks surprisingly okay. She doesn't look or sound sober, but still far from as affected as the other person."Issshhh that all you wussy landlubber? Come on! Let us make this interesting!", she growls and shows 5 fingers to another person and 5 more shots are placed down.
