Lupita aimed carefully, then let the dart fly. It struck the dartboard just above the triple ring in the twenty space. She pursed her lips and shook her head back and forth in disappointment, then switched another dart to her shooting hand. She hefted it for a moment, then got her grip right, aimed, and let it fly. It sunk into the dartboard just below the triple ring. She let out a short powerful exhale. Frustration threatened to throw her aim off again. She closed her eyes as she hefted the last dart, took a deep breath, and opened her eyes. She aimed, really took her time, took another deep breath, and let it fly. The point hit directly in the tiny triple twenty rectangle. She smiled to herself.

"I used to be good at this," she said to herself, then looked around to make sure no one had heard.

She gave up on darts and sat in the plush chair where she had left her laptop. She opened it, logged in, opened her file, and started re-reading what she had written. Her notes on the pack were sparse. She hadn't even met everyone yet. She opened the file on her previous pack, red through her notes, stopped to look at the photos, stared at the one of Professor Tabor. He had bitten her, turned her, but also taught her, helped her manage the transformation. He had been like a father, then more. He was gone now. She traced her fingertip over the curve of his cheek in the picture on her screen and wished he was still alive

Lupita shut down her laptop. She needed to save the battery, and there was no use in reliving the past. Tabor was dead. She needed to focus on the present and plan for the future. She shoved the laptop back into her messenger bag next to the sketchbook and pulled out her pen and the small journal. It made her feel good to hold them, even if she wasn't planning on writing anything just yet. They were there, ready in case something needed to be written down.

She looked around the rec room. It was a nice place, but the library was more her speed. Maybe she'd find something interesting to read. Maybe even something to help her understand the curse under which she now lived. She headed out into the hall and toward the library.

Once Darion returned from gathering the last of his things he headed back towards the midnight mansion. His brain coming to a halt as a crashing realization dawned on him. He had no work, no jobs needing done, no master, nothing. He didn't even have to hunt if he didn't want to. For the first time in a long time he was truly free.

Not entirely sure what to do with the alpha gone, the one acquaintance he had busy, and the forest more or less off limits he blinked, he realized that he could well and truly relax. An uneasy smile crossed his lips as he began to explore the common rooms for a time, eventually finding the rec room, looking around he nodded to himself. It wasn't a bar, but that was fine by him. He only went to them for the company anyways.

He however wasn't looking for company, nor was he looking for solitude. No Darion simply wished to be, smiling at the two wolves playing billiards he walked past them, finding himself a seat. His eyes shutting as he allowed himself to relax, truly to feel some semblance of peace for a time. There was nothing he could do, nothing he needed to do, and yet he has offered. That was enough for now he felt, perhaps as things mellowed down he would reach out to the alpha, formally introduce himself and his skill set.

In time, Darion found himself nodding off, sleeping through the rest of the day in comfort. Once he'd awoken it was nightfall, the rec room more or less was empty, and he found himself alone. Walking through the mansion, he found his new pack busying themselves with various things, most looking rather enthralled in their own tasks, not seeing anyone of authority free, he decided that it would be best if he explored the town, perhaps found work, something more to do. And so it was he set off to the town of Spruce Moore.
