Eden Online (Jtcookie x Mini)

Every gamer had one certain dream. To experience the virtual world as if it was the real one. And one company that seemed to come out of nowhere, suddenly delivered exactly that. Its hardware worked while people slept, making it THE choice for late night gaming. It had a site people could create accounts on and order the hardware. Journalists and reviewers writing large articles about it. A fan made wiki. The only thing halting its spread was the inability to take screenshots. The service itself was running smoothly.

And one of these games had gotten his hardware just this day. After putting it on and reading the short instructions (not neccessarily in that order) and turning it on, even though his eyes were closed, things started to form around him. It was like drifting into a dream, but much clearer, focused, and eventually, he'd stand in a room. Completely white, made from modern looking metal penals. Size wise, it was just about large enough to be used as a bedroom. A pillar of light appeared before him, and vanished after a small figure stepped out of it. "Greetings. My name is Eve."

She was all over the site where he would have made his account. Or a smaller, chibified version at least, pointing at fields that needed to be clicked on, holding gear, and giving small infos with speech bubbles when needed. Now a bit taller and with a voice, the mascot of the game appeared. "Before you explore the world, I would like to teach you how the world as a whole works. First, try to move slowly. You are currently in a dream-state, and most minds need a moment or two to adjust.
Notice: If you fall, the pain threshold is locked to minimal by default. Should it come to serious injuries such as impalement, amputation, burns due to high temperature or acid, or similar grave instances, it will simply feel as if your limb or body go numb. Adjustment of this setting to mid or high are possible for the sake of realism, but not advised."

After having to wait the 7-10 business days for the product to arrive at his home, Connors new vr system had arrived. When it did he was excited to use it that night and quickly began setting everything up. Plugging the headset in so that it had power for the whole night, he laid down, got comfortable and closed his eyes. Waking up in the room, he was amazed by what he was seeing, this tech was amazing! A soft smile came to his face when he saw Eve appear before him and he was a bit surprised by her new design, but it was honestly really cool looking.

Hearing her give him the tutorial, he nodded and slowly began to try and move. It was a bit difficult at first, his movements were sluggish and a bit off, however he was getting the hang of it. "This is... amazing!" he said excitedly and looked at her. His movements were improving and soon he was able to walk and use his body as well as he could in the real world. "What's next?" He asked Eve. His excitement was only growing as he wanted to experience all this world had to offer. Thankfully he had an alarm set so he would be able to wake up without issue as well, of course he didn't have to worry about classes since he was on a small break but a guy still needed to eat.

With him making progress, Eve continued. "Next: Interacting with the environment. Try what feels natural with any of these." Holographic panels appeared around Eve, scrolling text, and clicked options popped up, and in similar fashion as she appeared, a set of furniture materialized. A bed, table, and chair which were all made of wood. Then a striking dummy, and various weapons like swords, hammers, axes, bows and crossbows, knives, and pole arms appeared.

While he went to those, Eve again continued, talking while he tried everything out. "In Eden Online, there is no class system, as you might be used to. Technically, you can learn any skill and ability. Skills and abilities themselves do however have requirements, such as a certain type of weapon and certain stats. With that in mind, it is advised to not worry much about your initial choices. Notice: A jack of all traits can do many things, but none as good as someone who specializes." Eve took a break again at this point and waited until he familiarized how his body felt now, and that it could feel at all. This was after all still a new experience. Once he turned to her for more info however, she continued. "Next: Choose your starting location. The options are: Some of her screens went to him, showing him one region at a time, followed by a rough explanation.

After testing out some of the weapons that Connor had been shown, he stopped as he held a sword in his hand and looked at the options. It didn't take him too long to decide on which world he would go to first and work his way up from. "I would like to go to Leanbox." he said as he looked at the screens. Connor was visibly excited that his adventure would be starting soon and he honestly could only imagine how bad his sleep schedule would become after this, not that it was the greatest already. He didn't know if there was anything though there was likely going to be a confirmation option at the end of these decisions. With how realistic this game was, he could probably learn some neat things from it too.
