The carrot was slipped away into one of her pouches. That was fine. More snacks for her and Lucky! But if she did change her mind, well, she had extras! Not too many left, but a few! Actually she probably should have bought more food while she was in town, but that was fine. She had enough supplies to reach the next one and, failing that, she had potions to assist further! Also they could go hunting! Really they had plenty of options.

"Okie dokie!" she chirped, fine with Rayvenne leading the way! It was probably safer. Also, well, she knew where they were going! It was part of the reason she was hired, after all. She did hear Rayvenne speaking to what was probably the familiar. One of her ears perked up on reflex, tilting towards the source of the noise. But she didn't actually want to spy on them, so a hand quickly moved up to tug down upon it! Bad ear! Very bad ear!

Leaning forth, Luna rubbed her hands against the part of Lucky's neck that she could reach! He was such a great companion. He never complained, but then she did end up spoiling him a lot too. Being good to others had gotten her through a few iffy spots before, including with bandits! After all they were still people. Most did it as a way to feed themselves. Only a few were actually really bad, and in those cases, well, magic had her back Also alchemy! One would be surprised by how many applications potions could have!

When Rayvenne glanced back Luna sat up, waving excitedly towards the woman! At least she had companions now who could talk back to her!

I wonder what sort of familiar I'll get! Oh, I should look for a spell that'll let me talk to animals! That'd be neat!

After such an eventful night, Natia was weak and exhausted. Thanks to her Aequuian body, however, she wasn't in any serious pain. Most of her scars and bruises had healed completely. Even Rowan's bites on the back of her neck had managed to mostly heal up overnight. Still, she'd been through a lot and was more than worn out. Even dreams were off the menu, her body had completely shut down after the brutality of Rowan's fucking. The small girl just continued to lay unconscious in the arms of her lover. Thanks to his gentle care, she was able to remain safe and secure the entire night while she recovered. Over the course of the night, her lewd face had returned to a more innocent, childlike smile.

Completely unaware of her surroundings, Natia wouldn't become responsive again untill well past the morning and approaching into noon. By this point, her memory of what happened last night was still quite groggy, but there was still a lingering pain in her crotch and, from the position she'd been sleeping and the change of tunic, she could easily piece together what had happened even without her memory coming to. Somewhat embarrassed, Natia began to blush, but she didn't want to move from this position. Laying in Rowan's arms just felt right. Whatever they had done the previous night, it must have been incredible. Looking at him from this perspective, she couldn't quite tell if he was awake yet or not. It was possible he could have woken up and then fallen back asleep with her as well, but she didn't want to move either way. She wanted the peaceful moment to stay.

Rowan was slow to reach consciousness, almost as if his body sluggishly refused to allow him to wake up. He felt content, and relaxed in a manner he had not felt since leaving home. He let out a soft sigh through his nose as he pulled Natia closer towards him and nuzzled his nose into her hair, inhaling her sweet scent. He felt as if he could lie like this forever. However a couple of discomforts made themselves known to him. He really needed a piss, and his stomach was twisting in hunger. Which made sense, since neither of them had eaten anything the night before. The two discomforts irritated him until he forced his golden eyes to open where his vision was clouded by white. For a moment, he felt confused before he realised that it was Natia’s hair. He shifted a little, but still unwilling to move despite his immediate needs. His ears twitched a little, listening to her breathing and while she was relaxed, she didn’t seem to be asleep.

“Natia? How are you feeling this morning?” He asked out of concern for her. He had fucked her pretty hard for a virgin, and he was worried that she might be sore or in some kind of discomfort. He was certainly expecting her to be hungry like he was. But she clearly seemed content to continue lying in his arms, a position that he was content with as well. He heard a soft rustle nearby and he craned his head up a little to see Baellator nearby nibbling on some berries that were growing from one of the bushes that surrounded them. He smiled a little at the sight before returning his attention back to Natia.

Rayvenne raised an eyebrow at the enthusiastically waving bunny girl before she turned back to the road. She was still wondering what kind of drug she was on, to make her this hyper. Did she down sugar pills all day long to keep her in a state of hyperness? She wasn’t sure. And she didn’t really want to know. She didn’t particularly want to get to know her. Because then she might actually begin to form some kind of bond with her, and Rayvenne wasn’t one to allow that to happen easily. She had lost too many people, and been used by even more to allow herself to open up like that. The dark haired woman had seen the very worst in humanity that had made her jaded and suspicious of people, even friendly ones like Luna. If anything, she was even more suspicious of the ones that were overly friendly. She always felt that they had something far darker, and more sinister to hide.

She sighed as she continued to lead the way, not wanting to engage in any conversation with Luna. Instead, she eyed their surroundings with a keen eye. Every now and again, she saw Raeghan fly by as he moved around them, keeping an eye out on danger that she wouldn’t be able to see. It was useful having an eye in the sky. Raeghan had saved her skin so many times just by simply flying above her. He, and Maedoc, were the only companions she really wanted.

When she noticed that the sun had reached its peak, she realised that it was midday and that they had been travelling for a few hours straight. She looked behind her at the horse dragging the cart, knowing that it would perhaps need rest soon. It would be best not to exhaust him. Besides, her stomach was growling at her, telling her that it was hungry and resenting her neglect. She pulled on Maedoc’s reins slightly, slowing the huge stallion down until she was once again walking beside the wagon. She looked over at the energetic bunny girl and said, “It’s noon. We should perhaps stop and find a place to rest for a little while, so that we can have something to eat.”

She looked around them, seeing that they were near lake Ryomar, on the north side. On the south side, on the opposite side of the river, was Taiom. It was all grassland where they were, and it was quite warm due to the fact that they were within riding distance of the Dynx desert, the inhospitable environment that Rayvenne had crossed to enter this Kingdom. She saw that there was a singular tree that shaded a good amount of area, with lush grass growing beneath it. She pointed it out to Luna, “That looks to be a good spot to have a rest.” She said.

Poor Luna. She had been looking so forward to having a companion, someone else to make friends with! But Rayvenne was very quiet. Completely quiet, actually! Hours of silence passed between them with only the sounds of nature, hooves, and rolling wooden wheels to entertain them. Perhaps to any normal person it might have been maddening, but not so for the little bunny. No, even despite everything she still continued to bounce merrily in her seat! It was just nice having the extra company. Besides, she'd surely open up eventually! Right?

As noon approached her bouncy excited state did lessen a slight bit. Not out of a lack of enthusiasm but rather out of a growing hunger. It took a lot of energy to be this happy! But then that was why she typically ate a big meal. Even on the road she tended to eat a lot. Again she had potions to help her with that. Alchemy really was very nifty, one simply needed to have the ingredients for it.

Rayvenne seemed to slow down until, finally, they were trotting alongside each other! Luna's eyes widened, glittering gleefully! Were they about to talk about stuff?! Would they bond?! Unfortunately not! She'd simply dropped back to suggest resting for a bit. It was a good idea of course.

"Okie dokie!" she exclaimed, guiding Lucky off for the clearing nearby! Maybe they could bond during lunch! But just as important: she could go scavenging for plants! Plants made good food. They were also important for her alchemy. Once the cart came to a stop Luna hopped out and moved over to Lucky. One hand slid along the horse's reigns while she whispered a short incantation. Bindings unfurled themselves, freeing the horse. As she pet along his neck she removed the carrot she'd saved from earlier, bringing it up to his mouth.

"Take a break buddy. You've done very well!"

Without a moment's hesitation she turned and ventured into her cart. Noises were heard as she fished around for things. When she emerged once more she was carrying a basket, a leather bound tome, a quill, and a blanket!

"I'm going to go looking for some food! Uh. Also some ingredients! You can come too if you want!"

Rayvenne was glad that Luna easily agreed with her idea to stop to have some rest so that they could have something to eat. While she sometimes tended to be a bit of a workaholic, she found the trait irritating in others, especially when they wouldn’t go for the suggestion when dangled right in front of their eyes. She followed the wagon, keeping beside it as they moved over to the clearing. Once they came to a stop, the dark haired woman dismounted from the huge stallion and patted him on the side in a silent thanks for allowing her to ride him. Due to his sheer size and strength, he could easily buck her off of his back. But he was unwaveringly loyal to her. He was the best steed she had ever had, and she was rather fond of him. She would certainly regret his passing when the time came.

She stepped around the stallion, watching as Luna freed her horse and offered it a carrot. She put a hand on her hip, her eyebrows raising a little before she looked up to see Raeghan swooping down and landing on top of the wagon to peer down at her. Dark eyes watched Luna disappear into the wagon and she heard the bunny girl rummaging around, possibly for some good. She turned her eyes back to Raeghan and asked, “Anything?”

“All clear. Not a soul in sight.” Raeghan said before cawing in amusement causing Rayvenne to roll her eyes to the right slightly in annoyance. She hated it when he laughed at his own jokes, especially when they were puns. She hated puns. Rayvenne heard the door of the wagon open again and she was actually glad for the distraction. She turned her eyes towards the bunny girl and observed the items that she was holding. Her eyebrows then twitched up a little at the girls words and she looked mildly perplexed,

“Looking for food? Don’t you have any supplies on you?” She asked. She then wondered what kind of food she would be able to find out here. They were currently in a glass land. There were some trees and bushes, but they were sparse. Few and far between. There was likely to be rabbits or some kind of bird that she could hunt, but Rayvenne somewhat doubted that Luna would have it in her to kill and eat a rabbit, considering what she was. She might encounter a berry bush or something, but again due to the sparsity of the bushes, it would be a little hard. Still, just out of curiosity, she would follow Luna on her food search.

She nodded her head enthusiastically! "Yep! I have a decent supply, but it's good to get more when you have the chance, right? Saves the less perishable stuff for when you really need it! Uh, it also saves money. That stuff isn't cheap. Also I'm always on the lookout for alchemical ingredients!"

Turning on a dime Luna started away, skipping through the grasslands! It was true: grasslands didn't really have a bunch of readily available foods. That is, unless you really knew your plants! True, it didn't have a bunch of berries. She occasionally came across one little bush with berries and most weren't even the edible sorts. Some were collected regardless for their alchemical uses. Those that were edible were settled into a different part of the basket. But in grasslands one could find white mustard, dandelions, clovers, cattails near sources of fresh water, even thin stalks of wild asparagus! And then of course were the many, many plants used in alchemy.

A little tune was hummed while she bounced around, plucking plants here and there, even digging some up for their potent roots! By the time she was finished Luna's basket was filled with various greens. She turned towards Rayvenne, fluffy tail wiggling excitedly behind her. "Alright! I'll sort these out and make us a nice, filling stew! Um, unless there is something else you think we should have with it? I've got spices in my wagon too."

“That makes sense.” Rayvenne conceded to Luna’s points in answer to her question. She could understand the need to save money by foraging for ones own food or alchemical ingredients. Especially when the ingredients weren’t readily available in populated areas due to their fear and disdain for witches. Healers and alchemists tended to come under that fire as well, so merchants tend not to sell such ‘witchcraft’ products. Rayvenne also had a few secret little gardens around Craethiel that she used to grow her needed ingredients. Not that she would tell Luna that. After all, the ingredients might not be of any use to the bunny girl, as they were used to create potions that were specifically designed for Rayvenne’s unique situation. The potions she could use with ease would maim or kill other people.

She followed the smaller woman, watching her carefully as she skipped around pulling various plants and roots from various places. Some of which that Rayvenne might not even think to look. To her surprise, Luna was able to actually fill her basket with the plants, berries and roots that she had done. She raised an eyebrow, looking at the basket before her gaze moved back up to the bunny girl herself when she spoke. Rayvenne shrugged one of her shoulders, “Meat? I have some dried meat in my back. Or I could go and hunt something. Like rabbits.” She said, looking around as she spied a few rabbit holes in the ground. She turned back to Luna and added, “I also have bread. That tends to go well with a hearty stew.” As she spoke, she began to head back towards their resting spot. She could see that Maedoc was restlessly moving around, clearly not liking the fact that they had come to a stop. She almost snorted in amusement at the sight. He was likely to continue sulking for the rest of the day and throughout the night due to their slow pace.

Dried meat could work well in a stew! It'd get rehydrated! Bread was also a very fine idea! She didn't know if the rabbit thing was just a joke or not. A glance around proved that it wasn't. But her dainty shoulders shrugged once in response! She didn't mind! After all she wasn't a vegetarian! As long as they didn't go overboard. Plus, rabbits feet were useful in alchemy! It really depended on what Rayvenne wanted.

"Well, sure! If you'd like to hunt I say go for it! Bread is a great idea too! So is the dried meat! I'll leave that choice up to you!"

With a hum she skipped into her wagon. Alchemical ingredients were set aside for sorting further later, along with the preparations required for keeping them in a good state. The greens required for their meal were kept in the basket, as were the berries. Her pre-made stew spice jar was settled into the woven container alongside a tiny vial of bluish-silverish liquid, a needle fastened to the side of the little glass jar. After picking up a small black cauldron Luna skipped right back outside!

A fire was quickly setup. She poured in a bottle of orange liquid and another bottle filled with fresh water. Then went the many plants, only keeping the berries behind. She hadn't managed to find too many that were properly ripened, but they wouldn't need too many either! The vial of strange liquid was opened up and the needle dipped into it.  One poke was made into each berry. After wiping off the needle it was settled back into place and the vial was closed up! Within seconds the berries started to grow, ballooning up to the size of apples! From the basket she retrieved a wooden spoon, carefully stirring the stew now while it cooked. A few dashes of her special spice blend were also tossed in for good measure!

"Mmm! Already smells good!"

The sound of Rowan's voice made Natia's heart flutter as it reached her ears, causing her whole body to shiver slightly as the sense memory from last night echoed through her skin. "I-I'm... I'm alright." She stuttered slightly, not totally wanting to admit that, in spite of her fast healing, she had been left in quite a bit of pain. If Rowan needed her help with something, anything at all, she didn't want him to feel bad about asking for it. It was around that point when her stomach rumbled. As much a she wanted to pretend everything was fine, it would be impossible to hide her hunger. The girl only blushed a little. "I guess I'm a bit hungry..." She trailed off, embarrassed.

Despite the need to get moving, she continued to lay in her mate's arms. Instead, she just looked up at him to show him her loving smile.  "I-I don't remember much of what happened last night, but whatever it was, it was incredible..."

Rowan couldn’t help the soft chuckle that escaped him at Natia’s words, “I must have fucked you so hard I scrambled your brains.” He jokingly said, holding her a little closer as he kissed the top of her head with easy affection. He stayed like that for a few moments before he said, “I’ll get us something to eat. I’m hungry, too.” He reached up, stroking a hand through her impossibly soft hair before he reluctantly pulled back and away from Natia, leaving her in the warm blanket, “Just relax.” He told her as he got up. He stretched long unused muscles, causing his joints to crack loudly. He let out a soft groan at the feeling of his joints loosening before he lowered his arms, “Damn.” He muttered, reaching up to gently massage the muscle of his shoulder before he smiled at Natia and moved off out of the clearing so that he could take a piss in peace.

When he returned, he went over to his bag and opened it up. He remembered that Natia wasn’t one for eating meat, so he pulled out the strips of dry meat for himself. Luckily he still had plenty of bread and cheese left. He could pick up more supplies for them in the next town, especially supplies that might be more in line with Natia’s tastes, including ingredients for a vegetable stew. He pulled out a chunk of bread and cheese before he walked over to Natia and sat down next to her, his legs crossed. He offered her the food and said, “I got you some bread and cheese. When we get to the next town, we can get you some more variety of food. Even stuff for a good vegetable stew.” He grinned at her as he took a bite out of his own strip of meat. Despite the fact that he wasn’t a vegetarian himself, he was perfectly willing to try out a vegetarian stew for Natia. Besides, once he had served his portion out, he could put meat into his bowl.

“Alright…” Rayvenne said softly when Luna said that it was her choice. She had plenty of supplies which she had purchased in Delwore, but dried meat tended to last quite a little bit so she could certainly afford to hunt fresh rabbit. When they returned to their little camp, she went over to Maedoc and pulled out an unstrung bow from her saddlebags. She pulled out the string and easily looped it onto the bow. The bow was designed with human strength in mind, and hers exceeded that of a strong human male, so it was almost unreal how easily she strung it. She then pulled out a few arrows before she walked off, leaving Luna to start preparing the stew on her own.

Her footsteps were silent as she moved across the field, her dark gaze sweeping across the grass. She then spotted some rustling in the grass and homed in on the source. After a moment, a rabbits head poked out between the strands of grass. She lifted her bow, smoothly knocking an arrow and pulling the string back as she took arm. The rabbit hopped out of its hiding place, and Rayvenne let go of the string causing the arrow to pierce through the air and strike right on target. She moved over to the rabbit and picked it up, pulling her arrow from it before she hooked it to her belt. She then moved further into the field and it wasn’t long until she found a small group of rabbits.

She eyed them up before taking aim at the largest of the group. Like before, her aim was true and she struck the rabbit, causing the others to scatter in all directions. She wasn’t bothered by that. She was only after a couple. She strode forwards, pulling the rabbit from her belt and laying it down next to the second. She pulled the arrow out of the second before she took out a belt knife and gutted the two animals to remove their innards. She then buried them to prevent them being found by scavengers before she picked up the two dead animals and returned to the camp.

Once she arrived, she said, “I got two rabbits.” She put her bow and arrowed away before she sat down near the fire and set about skinning the rabbits before getting as much flesh off of the animals as possible. She even cut off the rabbits feet, as she figured that Luna would want that as part of her witching crafts. When Rayvenne cut off pieces of the meat, she put them in a small pile on a rock that sat near the fire so that Luna could use it when she needed to. Once Rayvenne was finished, she got up and moved away from the camp to bury the remains before she returned and washed her hands and knife with her water bottle. She used a small piece of cloth from her saddlebags to dry her hands before she then turned and watched Luna.

It wasn't too long before Rayvenne returned with some well-needed proteins! While Luna did prefer plants, and certainly disliked killing, she wasn't going to completely avoid eating animals either. It was just a natural part of life, right? And it wasn't like she was fully a rabbit either. It didn't count as cannibalism. Probably.

When meat was set aside Luna dropped it right into the pot to cook! She made certain to stir the stew for a minute, mumbling an incantation. Then she released her grip upon the spoon, allowing it to continue stirring itself! Witchcraft was so useful! She was honestly astounded how people could live without it.

"Thank you for the meat! Also thank you for the rabbit's feet! They're very useful" she stated, hanging them outside her little cart to dry. Now they just needed to wait for their food to finish cooking! She settled in, taking a seat near her traveling companion. With tail wiggling she smiled, staring up towards the taller woman.

"So! Um! Are you a witch too?"

Rayvenne simply nodded to Luna’s thanks, her eyes fixed on the moving spoon that stirred the pot automatically. As the excitable girl hung the rabbits feet up to dry, Rayvenne unstrung her bow and put it away in her saddlebags. She then returned to the fire and sat down, crossing her legs in a very un-ladylike fashion. She looked up, watching as Raeghan perched himself on the top of Luna’s wagon, watching the two with interest as the bunny girl came and sat down near Rayvenne. At her question, the dark haired woman stiffened and her hands clenched into fists as she replied tightly, “No. I am not.”

She hoped that by her tone, Luna would leave off any further questions. Rayvenne didn’t like talking about herself, especially to complete strangers. It was not the first time someone had asked her that question, nor would it ever be the last. People often mistook her for a witch, as she was able to perform a couple of spells. But that was only two, and even then they were quite low powered. She knew more alchemy than she did spells. Granted, she knew some theories but she had watched her old friend long enough to be able to pick up these things on her own.

There was a blur of black feathers as Raeghan swooped down and landed on the grass in front of them. He tilted his head slightly before letting out a caw of laughter before he looked over at Luna and said, his voice like the caw of the raven he was, “I can assure you that she’s not a witch.” He shook his head slightly, ruffling his feathers a little, “But she did know my old mistress, before she died. I was her familiar. But after she died, I decided to tag along with Rayvenne since it would be a lot more exciting to travel around and deal with monsters.”

Rayvenne glowered at the raven before she said, “You just can’t learn to keep your trap shut, can you?” Raeghan laughed again, his blood red eyes almost gleaming with mischievousness, “No. Besides, it’s been a long time since I’ve spoken to a witch.” He looked back at Luna and bobbed his head up and down, “It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Raeghan.” He introduced himself.

Unfortunately it seemed that Rayvenne did not wish to talk about herself. Her tone was warning enough, prompting the little bunny to wince and nod her head. No more questions. She got the gist of it! It did make Luna just a touch sad, but hey some people just wanted their privacy! Luna could understand that.

Suddenly the raven swooped down, deciding to finally join them! A smile crept across her lips, her poorer mood instantly remedied! He would certainly know a witch, wouldn't he? After all he was a familiar. Familiars were quite intelligence and very sensitive to magic. Still, Rayvenne had known a witch! It was a little saddening to know that she was dead. Witches rarely perished away from age. Well, at least as far as she could figure.

"Oh! Well I suppose that is a good reason, huh?" It was probably a good way to find another master too! Witches were required, on occasion, to seek out monsters, especially those who practiced alchemy. After all that was what Luna was doing right now!

Her excitement was briefly calmed by Rayvenne's words. Clearly she didn't want to talk about herself. Luna would keep that in mind. There were other things she could discuss with the familiar, after all. After the raven's introduction Luna sat up on her knees, gripping upon the edges of her dress-like coat while she lowered herself into a hybridization between a curtsy and a bow!

"It is an honor to meet you Mister Raeghan. I am Luna."

With introductions out of the way she settled back into place. "I've not had the honor of receiving a familiar yet! Might I ask about what it is exactly that your kind do for witches? Or, I mean, with witches? I mean I know a few things, but I'd love to hear it from your end, you know?"

Raeghan tilted his head to the other side slightly, eyeing Luna with his blood red eyes as if he was considering whether or not to answer her question. He then let out a soft cawing sound before he shifted his wings as if shrugging, “I helped her with her spells, and I was her companion. Her friend. I used to be a human, a long time ago before I died. Then my Mistress summoned me and placed me within the body of this raven to make me her familiar. I didn’t mind too much. Especially since now I can fly.” His blood red eyes seemed to sparkle with delight, “Flying is such fun. I enjoy every moment of it.”

The raven then tilted his head towards Rayvenne for a moment before he looked back at Luna again, “I also taught Rayvenne everything she knows about sword fighting. I used to be a swordsmen when I was a human and I saw in Rayvenne a gifted student despite her being a woman.”

“Watch your tongue before I slice off your beak.” Rayvenne said, her eyes narrowing slightly although the corner of her mouth twitched upwards in a barely perceptible smile. Raeghan cawed in laughter but he completely ignored the joking threat, “My mistress was called Maed. She’s been dead a while now, killed by bandits. She and Rayvenne were good friends, which is why I decided to travel with her after Maed died.”

“Why are you always so talkative?” Rayvenne asked to which Raeghan shrugged again, “Because I like to talk. And I quite like Luna here.” He said, before looking at Luna and asked, “So what kind of familiar are you looking at getting? Not one of those damn cats, I hope. Damn furballs are always a pain in the arse.”

Assistance with spells would certainly be nifty! And of course she was always open to having a companion. However the fact that he used to be a Human was quite alarming! Her eyes widened just a little bit at the thought. It created so many questions within her mind! It also did make her just a little bit confused.

"Familiars are created?" she asked, mostly mumbling to herself, although she didn't try to hide the question. It was quite the revelation! Perhaps that was why she didn't have one yet. The thought of him training Rayvenne was a little amusing though. How did he hold a sword? Okay, he could teach through observations and stuff, but the image did draw a slight giggle from the bunny. Of course the giggle was cut short by Rayvenne's threat. How scary!

"I am sorry for your loss. My parents were the ones to train me. Uh. I lost them pretty much the same way."

A smile instantly appeared when the raven said that he liked her! It was a real honor in her eyes! The question was pretty loaded though, especially with the new information at hand.

"W-well, um, I always thought that you waited until you were worthy to be approached by a familiar! Mother and father always respected theirs very much. They said that a witch could count themselves blessed to even be graced by the presence of one! So, uh, I've sorta been waiting to be approached."

She paused for a few moments. Unfortunately she couldn't help but to start asking questions of her own! "Do you still eat Human food? What is your favorite food? Do you ever wish you could be a Human again? Like, even for a little bit? What would you do if you were a Human again?!"

Eyes sparkled with curious glee as one question after another shot forth!

Rayvenne sighed a little, resigned to the fact that Raeghan and Luna were likely to get involved in a rather long conversation with each other. She turned her dark eyes to the cauldron and watched the spoon stirring the food within it. Raeghan jumped up onto her knee, shifting a little to get his balance before he looked at Luna again, his blood red eyes carefully analysing her now that he was closer. He seemed rather amused by the slew of questions that she fired his way and since Rayvenne wasn’t often much of a conversation partner, he was glad to indulge her.

“I suppose you could simply wait for an animal to come to you and be your familiar. But the strongest and most clever of familiar’s are summoned, not adopted. The type that approach you are often just simple animals, with the mind and instincts of an animal. But a summoned familiar is like myself. A human soul summoned into the body of an animal of the witches choosing. If done correctly, the spell should summon a soul compatible with you. One that would gladly be your companion. More often than not, they’re able to actually talk with you… unlike some dumb animal.” Raeghan said, clearly having disdain for what he considered lower lifeforms to himself.

After a moment’s pause, he decided to address her questions, “I do still eat human food, although not much meat considering the body I have but I always tend to say ‘fuck it’ and go with it anyway. My favourite food? Well… a good pie is always loved, whether it’s a meat or fruit pie. I do sometimes want to be human, but that’s not very often. I quite like the way I am right now, especially since I can do what most humans can’t. Fly. I absolutely love it.” He then stopped for a few moments before letting out an amused sounding caw, “As for what I would do if I were human again… I would go out and get laid.”

“Raeghan!” Rayvenne chastised him, but Raeghan only let out a laughing caw as Rayvenne asked, “Do you have to be so crass?” Raeghan shuffled his feathers and said, “I was just being honest. I can’t really have sex in this form. It’s perhaps the only thing I miss about being human. But the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in my mind. I definitely prefer life like this.”

Luna leaned back just a little, bracing one hand behind herself so that she could sit up! She had to resist the urge to pet him now that he was closer. It was so difficult too! But no, she had to be respectful. Also it'd be rude to pet someone if they didn't want it!

Summoning a familiar was the best method. She did not know how to do that. Multi-colored eyes slowly glanced between the two. She did wonder if either of them knew. It didn't sound like Rayvenne would, but would the Raeghan? She could always ask, right?

"Do you know how to summon one Mister Raeghan? What if you summoned something else? Like, what if it was a Dragon's soul? Or a Demon! Or, I dunno. I guess maybe the spell has safeguards for that."

Still, summoning a companion sounded pretty great! Of course she didn't really feel as though she needed one right now. Rayvenne and Raeghan were companions! Still, it was something to look into, right? Just another task to add alongside finding a Dragon!

I need to get another bowl out!

If he ate Human food then perhaps he'd like to share their meal! And now she knew his favorite food was pies! She could make one! Not right now since she didn't have all the ingredients that she needed, but perhaps in the next town she could pick them up! Of course cooking wasn't too much different from alchemy. She'd make Rayvenne her favorite food too, but then she didn't like talking about herself. Actually she didn't like talking period. It was kind of a shame really.

Raeghan's rather forward answer was, well, a little surprising, but perhaps she should have seen it coming too! The bunny's cheeks were flustered pink, ears flopping back, although she did let out a brief giggle. Honesty was good, even if it was embarrassing! Still, this too was another thing to add to her list!

"Uh, well, maybe I can look into that! I mean, I dunno what sort of permanent fix could be found, especially if Miss Maed was a powerful witch. But maybe alchemy has an answer for you to become temporarily Human? I mean, if you want."

As for who he'd do it with? Well if they were at a town he could probably find someone, right? Although maybe Rayvenne would do it! Or maybe she would! Okay, probably not, it'd be too embarrassing, but she would be helping him so who knows! But that was something for the future.

Natia's blush only grew as Rowan joked. That just might have been an accurate description of what had happened to her. She certainly felt different than before... All she could remember was Rowan fucking her so hard that she couldn't breathe. Maybe she'd passed out at some point due to a lack of air? Holding their breath typically wasn't a common trait of Aequu since conserving oxygen was very rarely an issue, so catching her breath would certainly have been difficult for her small lungs to handle.

As Rowan moved her slightly so that he could stand, Natia felt a slight pain in her limbs as well. She must have been holding quite an uncomfortable position for a while. As he walked away, she immediately felt a longing to be in his arms again, but, at Rowan's advice, she just curled up under the blanket. She was safe here, and her cute smile spread across her cheeks by the time Rowan returned with the food. She slowly sat up and accepted the bread and cheese, turning the cheese over in her hand much like she did with the bread the other day. Once again, it was a more human food that she'd never tried before. She didn't quite know what in particular cheese was, she just knew it was made from animal milk through some process. The idea of eating something made from the milk of an animal she found to be a bit off-putting, and to be totally honest the somewhat dry chunk didn't exactly look very appetizing, either. However, as before, she wasn't going to turn down such a generous offering, and it was a part of outsiders' culture that she'd have to learn to adapt to. "Thanks for the food!" she spoke softly while slowly lifting the chunk of cheese to her lips and took a small bite of it. The taste was certainly not like anything she'd ever tried before and was much stronger than she'd expected. She cringed slightly but quickly changed her face to avoid concerning Rowan. She decided to take a few bites of the dry bread to ease the offputting taste and decided that was the best way to finish eating the two items.

Once the cheese and bread was gone, Natia felt somewhat more at ease. She leaned on Rowan's shoulder once again and smiled happily as she did.  "I... do remember you marking me..." She blushed as she raised her hand up to her neck.  "But... there's a pretty big problem with that..."  Her hand traced the area where the scar should be, but instead, by this point, there was just a white mark as the scar had almost completely healed itself already.  "As an Aequu, our bodies heal a lot faster... I've explained that to you, right? I used to think it was related to magic, but I guess it's just how our bodies function..." She explained with a frown.  "I'm... sorry..."

While Natia was eating the bread and cheese, Rowan quietly ate his own food as he watched Baellator. The Aelda was contently munching on the grass that was within the clearing. The Keza had noticed that the animal had pretty much trimmed the grass around them, clearly taking advantage of their rather extended stay. The thought made Rowan’s lip twitch in amusement as they had spent most of the day before having sex. He certainly felt better for it as well, as he had slept very well. But then he always slept better when he had someone else to warm his bed and to cuddle within his arms. And Natia was small enough to fit very well and for him to curl around her protectively. He could certainly get used to sleeping with Natia at night. A selfish part of him didn’t want them to stumble upon her family, because he had grown to really love her company. He felt at ease with her, and she was incredibly sweet. But he knew that he couldn’t stop her if she wanted to go back to her family. All he was interested in was her happiness.

He was pulled from his thoughts when he felt her head leaning against his shoulder. He ate the last piece of his meat and smiled back at her, shifting his head so that he could nuzzle the top of her head. His ears twitched a little when she spoke, and he listened quietly. He then smiled fondly before pulling his head back up and shifting to wrap an arm around her. He then pulled her up onto his lap where he wrapped both of his arms around her and held her close, one hand lightly resting on her thigh as he stroked it soothingly, “Don’t worry, love.” He said, kissing the top of her head, “The mark doesn’t last long even on Keza’s either. I don’t think the bond itself has much to do with the mark. I have no idea how it works but… the bond we did was only the first level. There is a deeper level where both parties would bite, draw blood and then kiss… mix the blood together, before swallowing it. That creates a deeper bond. But I don’t think that would work for us.” He sighed a little before he then smiled, “So a bite mark will have to do… I can keep reapplying it.” His smile then turned into a smirk, “Especially since you seemed to have enjoyed it so much.” He then teased.

Raeghan cawed a little in amusement at her questions regarding summoning, finding her panicked ramblings amusing. Yes, he rather liked this little person. She wasn’t quiet and withdrawn like Rayvenne, although Raeghan knew the dark haired woman well enough to know her moods and when she was in a more talkative state. She was only this cold and distant from those she didn’t know well, and it was only with persistence that someone could penetrate that cold exterior of hers. His head tilted the other way when she made her proposal. He looked up at Rayvenne, who looked down at him with an arched eyebrow. He then looked back at Luna,

“Well, I wouldn’t be after a permanent fix anyway. I quite like the way I am. So perhaps. That is, if you’re capable of doing something like that.” Raeghan said, before he then addressed her earlier questions, “It could be possible that you summon a soul not compatible with you. But if you do it right, then nothing of that sort should happen to you. I know the spell, but I can’t exactly write it down for you.” He looked at Rayvenne and asked, “Did you save her spell book?”

“Yes. I didn’t want it falling into the wrong hands.” She answered from where she was picking at grass and weaving it into a small, grass basket. The raven looked back at Luna and said, “There we go. The spell should be in there… if you ask Rayvenne nicely enough. I’m sure she’ll let you borrow the book.” He looked back at Rayvenne.

The dark haired woman lowered the small basket she had been making, giving Raeghan a flat stare before she gave a small shrug and replied, “Sure. Just to look at that one spell, though. I’m not giving you the book, not letting you steal Maed’s spells.” She then looked back down at her basket and plucked another piece of grass from beside her which she weaved into it with quick, deft movements.

Yay! Permission was granted to work on a temporary Humanify potion for the raven! That would be the name. Yep. It totally worked. She already had ideas running through her mind. Powdered skull of Human. Perhaps an organ, or some skin, either made into paste or powdered form. Something solid to hold it together. Salt? Salt might work. Longevity was also key. Usually something this powerful would only hold for a few minutes. Iron flakes? Maybe. Troll flesh? That would certainly do the trick but it'd be a little difficult to attain. Giant's fat? Same issue. Turtle shell! A few pinches of that would work perfectly! Maybe she even had some left! And, if she didn't, it would be a much easier ingredient to attain! Add some water, some carrot juice for flavor, and boom! Humanify potion!

Luna's ears twitched and shifted about in a rather peculiar way during her brainstorming process. Sparkly eyes focused intently upon the fire. "Eureka!" she shouted, ears and a finger thrusting up into the air! "Okay, I think I can make it! I might have most of the ingredients! Uh. May need to do a little grave robbing though. Nnn. Or something? I guess some merchants sell what we need. Not the kind you wanna get too involved with. We'd need a bigger settlement too. Yeah, they don't visit the small ones so often."

Right. At least it wouldn't be as scary with Rayvenne around! Her attention was finally settled upon Raeghan and Rayvenne. They still had the witch's book of shadows?! And it might even have the spell within?!?! She was even going to let Luna use the spell?!?!?! Eyes widened further, explosions of twinkling colors filling her multi-colored orbs!

"R-really? Oh thank you! Thank you very much!" she squeaked excitedly, arms opening briefly in preparation for hug delivery! But Rayvenne probably wouldn't want one. Also Raeghan could be hurt by it! After all he was a bird. So she wrapped her arms around herself, squeezing to get rid of the urge!

"Oh yeah. Food!"

Having finally remembered their lunch Luna bolted back into her wagon! Some movement was heard before she rushed back out with a third, smaller bowl! With that settled down she worked on dishing each of them a portion of soup.

"Enjoy!"

In response to the tease, Natia's face flushed brightly once again. "O-oh... Y-yeah... Th-that really was embarrassing... I can't believe there was a part of me so... primal..." With Rowan's help, she was able to recall much more of what had been going on in her mind. The way she so quickly abandoned all of her beliefs and traditions did fill her with a level of guilt, causing her to frown and rub her arm.  "I-It really is shameful for one of my kind to behave in such a way... But with you, it just felt so natural... it felt right..." It certainly didn't help to ease her mind, it sounded to herself more like she was trying to justify a clear mistake, yet there was still a primal urge inside her that made her understand she wasn't going to stop. Still, how would her father feel about her? She was the daughter of the chieftain, thought to be sacred among the tribe's women... Maybe she would have fetched a high price with that in mind... The very thought made her shiver. She couldn't believe how close she had come to being sold to men as a slave...

She raised her hand and gripped the collar around her neck.  "I can't wait to have this off... I want to try using my magic... there's so many beautiful things I want to show you with it..." She smiled up at Rowan.  "Like... our bonding ritual is really cute. It involves placing our hands together and creating rings for each other made out of the two elements that represent our hearts the most. It's extremely rare though because it only ever happens between Aequu and that can only happen when two tribes meet... and with the state the world is in, I kind of fear that meeting another tribe of Aequu might not be all it's shaped up to be..."

Rowen smirked a little as his little Natia flushed a deep red. He loved making her blush like that. She was so cute when she blushed like that. It made him want to hold her even tighter than before. At her next sentence, Rowan found himself tilting his head slightly with a raised eyebrow before it then creased in thought, “Why is it so shameful? That primal part of you is… well, instinct. I thought your people were close to nature? I would have thought that such… instinctual behaviour would be a good thing. Why isn’t it?” He asked, clearly a little confused by the concept. He knew that even a rather proud and proper race like the Eldyrannth gave into the demands on their more primal needs. But then, they were very close to nature and magic and the beasts that were a part of their very core being. They knew that their primal urges needed to be satisfied. Keza’s felt no shame in doing so, that he knew. Despite the numerous attempts of various past rulers, their natural instincts could never be completely stamped out, and Rowan never really tried to do it with himself. He saw no point in it. He felt it was lying to oneself.

He was brought from his thoughts when Natia’s voice started again, and he switched his attention back to her as she expressed the desire to have her collar off of her. He smiled a little as she spoke about their bonding ritual. It did sound quite nice, and he was curious to see what rings they created. He couldn’t help but wonder what a ring set would be for him and Natia. It would certainly be something unique, that was for sure. He kissed the top of her head before saying, “The Aequu must keep themselves very much to themselves, because I’ve never encountered a tribe before and I’m quite a well travelled person. But then there are various places in Craethiel where a tribe might hide itself… like in the mountains… in the Rosayia Forest… or even on one of the islands. I can’t really help you right now, since I have my own task that I need to do… but I promise, I’ll try and help look for your family at least. I already know someone who might be able to get this collar off. But again… I have something I need to be doing first.” He spoke apologetically, but he unfortunately couldn’t abandon his duty to his father.

Rayvenne watched as the girls ears twitched and shifted in a strange manner, as she had a look of deep thought on her face. She raised her eyebrows a little before returning her attention to her small grass basket that she was weaving. As such, she almost jumped in surprise when Luna suddenly shouted out. Raeghan was less restrained, and let out an undignified squawk of surprise before he ruffled his feathers and cawing in a displeased way. Rayvenne snickered a little at him, causing him to glare at her a little with his blood red eyes before he turned to look at Luna as she rattled off some of the things she might need. Rayvenne raised her head again, her eyebrow raising at the mention of grave robbing. So she needed parts of a human? At least, that was what she gathered from the remark.

“If you’re after something from a human, you could always wait until we’re attacked by bandits. That will give you plenty of whatever it is that you’re after.” Rayvenne said, putting forth another suggestion. It would kill two birds with one stone. She had no doubt that they would be attacked sooner or later, especially if they went closer to one of the towns. Bandits sometimes hung around nearby on the main roads, waiting for merchants to pass them by so that they could attack and get their merchandise. Rayvenne brought her attention back when Luna began to squeak excitedly. She tensed when she thought she could see the girl opening her arms as if to go in for a hug but she felt relieved that Luna decided to hug herself. She shook her head slightly, wondering why she got so excited so easily.

She watched as the girl bounced her way over to the wagon. She put the small basket down beside her now that she had finished weaving it. Raeghan had started to run his beak through his wing features to make sure that they remained straight and thus efficient for flying. He looked back up when Luna ran back with another bowl, smaller than the other two. When she dished out the stew, Raeghan jumped down in front of his bowl, “Why thank you.” He said before he immediately began to eat.

“Thank you.” Rayvenne said, picking up her own bowl and starting to eat. Despite the fact that she was so cold, no one could really fault her for her manners. And the stew was quite delicious. Better than she had, had in a long time. The meat was perfectly juicy but well cooked, and seemed to have absorbed the flavour of the sauce. She nodded a little before complimenting, “This is very well made.”

"Bandits! Double eureka! You're right!"

Of course! Bandits would most certainly attack her along the road! Not only would they be getting rid of bad people, but the ingredients would be fresh! She wouldn't even need to rob a grave! Her puffy tail was wiggling in a white blur.

After settling down the bowls and serving up the food she settled back, chomping hungrily upon her delicious meal! Or, rather, their delicious meal! Rabbit was certainly delicious! Was it bad of her to be thinking that? Would it be like a Human saying that Human tasted good? It wasn't like she was fully a rabbit!

Then came the compliment! Luna's ears shot straight up! After slurping down her mouthful of soup she spoke up!

"Thank you! Uh. I think its cause of the alchemy, you know? Its pretty close to cooking! Or is cooking pretty close to alchemy? A-anyways, uh, both have lots of the same concepts! Sort of! And some of each are used in the other!"

Another few bites were taken. Would the idea work? Maybe! It would be risky but there was absolutely no possible issues that she could foresee with it!

"Maybe we can lure out bandits? I make pretty good bait! And I doubt you'd be beaten by some bandits! I usually win when I fight! And if someone gets hurt I can heal them right up!"

Rayvenne paused when Luna said that cooking and alchemy had similar concepts to one another. She had to admit that the bunny girl was quite right. They did share numerous qualities with one another, such as requiring a specific method, ingredient amounts and cooking times to get the result that was desired. Anything that deviated too much from the norm, and it would create something entirely different. Perhaps even ruin it all together. So she quietly agreed to that with a slight nod as she spooned more of the stew into her mouth and chewed on it. At Luna’s next question, Rayvenne’s eyebrow raised a little but she didn’t say anything at first as she still had her mouth full of food.

When she swallowed, she said, “I doubt it would take much effort to lure out bandits. With a wagon, and only a singular guard - a female guard at that - you would no doubt be thought of as an easy target. At the moment we’re neat Lake Ryomar… there is the village of Taiom over the river but that’s just a village. It won’t attract much attention from bandits. However, if we continue to travel along the river towards Lake Kelrak, we will be able to cross the bridge to Kalath. The bridge is an idea spot to be ambushed by bandits. It’s considered a bit of a weak spot, as the guards don’t patrol that far from the town. Plus we can make sure that we are stocked on supplies before we head to the mountains. It would be a good idea to leave your wagon there as well. Enutpen’s Glory is not a very smooth mountain range. Wagons are impossible up there.”

Raeghan lifted his beak from his bowl and said, “She’s right. The mountains are treacherous, even in the best of weather. The quickest way to move around is with a horse.”

“Of course, that’s not mentioning all the monsters in the mountain ranges. Dragons aren’t the only being that inhabit the mountains. You have other monsters like mountain trolls. Not the easiest to beat, but I can handle them. Hopefully we won’t have to venture too far in to find what you’re after.” Rayvenne said, adding to what Raeghan said before eating another spoonful.

Well she was probably right about that. Of course Rayvenne had more experience with all this than she did. Probably. Maybe they wouldn't need bait? Heck, the woman even had a good idea on where they could get ambushed! And if they were well-entrenched then maybe, just maybe, they could gather more supplies too! Who knew what a bandit hideout might hold!

"Oh, don't you worry! The wagon won't be any issue! Nope!"

Luna smiled, nodding excitedly. Oh yes. A witch had many tricks! There were plenty of times before where she couldn't exactly move easily with her wagon. It had been remedied long ago. In any case she continued to happily devour her soup until, at last, it was all finished! With a content sigh she'd settle the bowl aside, patting her belly.

"Other monsters huh? That could actually help a great deal! I could get lots of materials if we end up bringing more down. Especially trolls! Trolls are excellent for alchemy. Also witchcraft too."

With an excited nod she stretched her arms overhead. A troll had many, many uses. They were especially essential when it came to medical brews, but their flesh was also vital in a combat regeneration potion. All of this was only making her even more excited! And if she could befriend a dragon? Well perhaps she could learn some things! Maybe even stuff useful in witchcraft! like a spell!
