  1. Description: After meeting in less-than-ideal circumstances, Alez and Cassandra had teamed up to put a stop to Mr Enron's plans and to find out whom or what they are working for. In their search for Mr Enron, they find themselves inside a Domain of a being from Cassandra's home universe, one sent to start Cassandra's 'punishment'. *Cassandra looked a bit aggravated on the outside, her expression rather grim and perhaps a bit apprehensive. Though, that was nothing compared to how she was feeling on the inside. Internally, she was hurting inside but she was not hardly showing it on the outside. That was due to Cassandra's own training and experience but even that...did not seem to help her cover up every single thing she was feeling at this moment. She knew this place, she had been here before. Though she knew that this place no longer exists now in her universe, the area and planet that this place was is much further along in time than here is, this place was once real...even if it only exists as part of this Domain. The Domain itself, which could take any form the owner wishes it to take, was a power given to special beings...chosen by the god of her own universe. She knew that fact rather well...given she used to have powers like that. That was quite some time ago, a lifetime ago in fact. Cassandra used to be much more powerful than she was now, given that she was meant to be the embodiment of the 'Eternal Hero' of her home universe. This 'Eternal Hero' was god's chosen warrior, whose sole mission was to defeat Evil in all of its incarnations. Her job was to defeat Evil whenever and wherever it would appear in her universe, slaying it was the point of her existence and she would reincarnate again and again to defeat it again and again. That WAS her life and all the lives she had previously were devoted to the task of killing this Evil...even if it kept inevitably coming back. She did her job without question nor complaint over her lives and gave her life to the cause when it came to it which it usually did. However, something changed with the present life she is living...she found Helheim...or Helheim found her and that changed her fate forever. No longer was she the chosen warrior, destined to win against Evil. No longer was her destiny to fight the 'good' fight against Evil. No...her destiny was no longer so simple...if it ever was. Now, she was no longer part of her universe and the use of the current god of her universe for her was now zero. She could no longer serve the purpose god gave her and thus was now useless and unneeded. The current god of her universe, whom she served so willingly and unfailingly over those lifetimes...no longer wanted anything to do with her. But why? As it turned out, her lives before this one were based off lies. Many lies, so many lies. Though she thought she knew how things were...she actually didn't know anything. Helheim had revealed the truth to her, that she had been deceived for all that time. That the god that she had served for all those lives...was not the god that created her world. The Evil she had been killing all this time...was the god that created the world and started life. Her life...before then...was just a sham, a false but convenient and appealing story for mortals and herself to consume. Her role...nothing more than disposing of the inconvenient past for whatever designs the current god had for the world. But that was history. Here, in this Domain, was someone she once knew very well...and was once someone she could call more than just a friend and comrade...someone she had cared for when they were alive together and even beyond that time. Yet...Cassandra suspected...nay...knew that their reuniting today would not start or end well. It could only end in tears.* "I never thought...I would see this place again..." Cassandra said softly, her words wavering. "This place no longer exists in my home universe, you see. Though this is no illusion. This is someone's Domain and they will not allow us to leave unless they are...dealt with." Cassandra's voice stumbled, betraying her emotional state to Alez. That she was definitely suffering.
  2. It's the year 20XX. Humanity stands on the edge of despair coming to a disillusioning realization; we can not advance any futher. As a species, we have peaked technologically. Resources are dwindling as the population continues to rise. Attempts at revitalizing the Earth have failed. In such a hurry to get ahead of everyone else, no one seemed to consider what would happen when we hit that inevitable ceiling and could elevate no further. War was a distant memory, not because of mutually assured destruction and deterrents, but defense systems had become so incredibly advanced that there wasn't a point in attack. The world was in a record peace time. Computers were so fast and advanced that home entertainment had hit a standstill in development. Cellular devices no longer required satellite, access to internet is provided by the country and is available at all times to the public with strong signal literally anywhere a person could go. As far as luxury is concerned, the Earth had all but become a paradise. Despite the futility felt globally in terms of ascending the laurels they currently rested upon, research still extensively continued in some fields, particularly that of neurology. As much as we knew about the human brain, we still knew very little about how it really worked and just what it was capable of. On a pivotal day, while monitoring the signals sent through the brain to the body, researchers succeeded in something thought impossible; artificial simulation of physical sensation by stimulation of the brain with sensors and pulses meant to mimic the activity. At first, they couldn't duplicate the results on their test subject, but on the verge of such an amazing discovery, they pursued it vigorously and without rest. Finally, they were able to replicate the experiment with success, again, and again, until they adjusted the intensity and range of the sensation. It started with a simple feeling of something light brushing across the wrist of their volunteer until it intensified to replicating the sensation of a massage, it wasn't quite as intense, but the signals sent through the brain telling it that it was happening had the muscles and nerves fooled enough. They'd done it, and they sought to perfect this breakthrough. Of course, with this revelation that progress could still, in fact, be made, researchers in other fields were energized and movitated to get working in a serious capacity again. The dark cloud of hopelessness and monotony hanging above them was gone, a hole was blown in that ceiling and soon, they elevated once more. Scientific fields soon flourished, having breakthroughs in stoage space capacity, upload and download speeds, improving the strength of the online access of world around them and even assisting the farming markets in helping them find new ways to grow more crop quickly and safely without the use of genetic altering chemicals. Space exploration was being funded and looked into again, the computer market was booming and along with it, the videogame industry was revitalized. The leaders of various corporations heading digital design and engineering came together in a think tank, knowing they needed to get in on this booming market with something new, something no one had ever seen before, something that everyone would have access to that would revolutionize technology as well as entertainment. They pooled their resources together, assembling a team of their top engineers, programmers and designers to work on a new product, codenamed Project New World. For this bold new project, they would need something new that has never been available to the public, and they knew exactly where to look. The leading minds behind the breakthroughs in neuroscience were contacted and offered a ridiculous salary to join the project, have their research funded for life as well as the promise of changing not just the field of neurology, but the entire world. They just had to accept the offer, it was too sweet to pass up, under the condition that they would be able to select their own programming and designing teams to work under the leads chosen by the corporations. Together, the conglomerate took on a new name - NexTech. NexTech went dark for several months after the announcement of the partnership, several heads turning in their direction in suspicion, curious as to what it was that the future held after they promised to "Alter the world" with their newest project, which was announced under a code name and then released no updates on it's status. Some blogs and news outlets were passing it off as a publicity stunt, something to get interest in stocks and product of NexTech's parent companies... Until the Electronics Expo the following year. NexTech had a stage to themselves between game companies revealing their latest software and concepts to the public. Naturally, this drew eyes into the Expo from around the world. The time came for them to take the stage and when the lights turned on, the representative stood with confidence, a neurologist stood at his side. On the stage with them was a plan, but rather large black box that resembled an older PC tower and something covered with a cloth. Near it was also a chair that resembled something from a dentist's office, laid back. The explanation was given for the amount of time it took for updates on their project. Through their funding and manpower, extensive testing was undergone to perfect the studies started years ago. The cloth was removed from the hidden objects, revealing a VR headset and two handheld control devices. The audience groaned at the concept of another attempt at virtual reality. NexTech's confidence didn't falter, even for a moment, and they called a member of the press to the stage and had the audience decide, to prove they didn't have a plant meant to be pulled into the demonstration. The journalist was ushered onto the stage and helped back into the seat. The controls were put in their hands, the headset was placed on their head over their eyes and the neurologist had a seat and put on a set of their own. The lights went dark and the enormous screen behind the stage lit up, showing the perspective of the journalist in a plain VR environment. Soon, the neurologist's blank avatar appeared and approched the journalist's, then... Contact. The NexTech representative stood a few feet away from the journalist with his hands behind his back and the journalist didn't understand what was happening at first. He could feel it. He could feel what was happening in the virtual world and the audience immediately started into a buzz. By the end of the demonstration, the amazed journalist was speechless and the audience was on their feet, shouting question after question, but NexTech had no comments and once they cleared the stage, the company went dark for longer months to follow. After months of anticipation, Project New World was fully announced with product details and a final name... Altered Online. An online game featuring an all new virtual reality gameplay engine, intuitive gameplay, complete control over a player's character in game with neural synchronization with propriety hardware (No PC required!) and a cloud-based network of servers, allowing nearly endless amounts of memory for optimal gameplay, functionality and the expansion of the in-game world's living environment feature. The whole world, not just the gaming industry and it's followers, shook with anticipation for this technological marvel, everyone curious about how a virtual experience could possibly adequately simulate reality. The popularity of streaming gameplay videos had begun to rise again after a long lull in activity or enthusiasm since the technological breakthrough and certain interested parties received a beta testing kit, including prototype versions of the VR headset and controls and proprietary hardware necessary to run the game, allowing professionals to test out their game, live stream and report to the public what they experienced. Beta testers also would receive a special kit to further customise their in-game avatars and abilities. With something so massive, the beta testers could forgive the minor bugs in certain animations and environments as well as a bit of lag with abilities being activated upon selection. Being able to actually FEEL the in game environment was unbelievable, though the sensation was dulled a bit from how it would really feel. Grass felt soft, water felt cool and wet, they could even taste what their character ate and drank and feel it going down their throats. This, alone, was worth looking into the game, just for the unparalleled experience of immersion into the beautifully designed fantasy world. The closed beta came to an end and the full release of the game was scheduled for just a few months away. NexTech was prepared, their server in top notch condition, the animations and environments fixed to be seamless, the full living environment program was ready for launch and the neural sync sensors within their VR headset were tested extensively and proven to be absolutely safe for use, even with the optional setting to simulate the pain of your character. It was all an illusion, after all... The game's pre-order count went into the millions, NexTech offered the hardware necessary to play at a modest price considering the revolutionary technology within at just over the price of a home video game console at launch price, meaning nearly everyone had access to Altered Online if they wanted it. Beta testers, as a thank you for such positive feedback and publication of footage of their experiences within their product, were given final versions of Altered Online by NexTech at no cost. Altered Online launched with astounding success with tens of millions of players joining at launch and in the days following. The number only grew in the following months and NexTech was on top of the home entertainment market... No, with the experience offered by Altered Online, they were on top of the entire world, their representatives, developers and leaders appearing in magazines, blogs, vlogs, news interviews, talk shows and any other form of media that could get exposure. Unfortunately, with the spotlight also came attention from less savory parties. The governments of the world saw military application in the technology, seeing a possibility in gaining an edge over other nations if a person could physically traverse an enemy's datascape and tamper with files within, among other applications. Government officials and employees had accounts within the game to learn all they could about it and try to learn how it worked, exploit any part of the system they could to get it to leak informaiton, only to be met with consistent failure. A few months post launch... It happened. Something amazing. Something inexplicable. Something out of science fiction... The Living Environment engine was evolving on it's own, it's coding rewriting itself, the in game world shifting, changing and finally, writing programs into itself. Characters appeared in game, monsters and citizens alike, which were not created it coded by the development team. These programs were literally being born of their own volition and NexTech was stunned... And terrified at how intelligent the AI was becoming. Reports started to come in from players about killing new enemies and not having them respawn later, finding areas not mentioned in any part of the User Manual or in-game maps... NexTech needed to quarantine those parts of the game and respond that they were under maintenance, or were environments planned for an update that leaked into the game somehow. Then came the effects on players who encountered the wrong sort of enemy. It was very few in number, but enough that NexTech could rule out simple seizures from the VR headset... However, they wrote it off simply as that, claiming no liability as they had a disclaimer before every login session, advising those sensitive to seizures, headaches or other discomforts not to play, or limit game play time. There were four fatalities documented from the seizures induced by an anomaly within their game and NexTech knew they needed to work fast and keep the situation under control and away from the knowledge of the public while they found the source of the anomalies and deleted the coding. Shutting down the game's servers would be too suspicious. Undergoing sudden maintenance would be as well. With unwanted parties already snooping around, NexTech left the game open and the players were unsuspecting of the secrets within the world of Alteria... Well... Most of them...
  3. Ive been wanting to try this for a while. Male or female is fine to work with on this. But the idea is that during the zombie apocalypse my character stumbles across yours. And we get taken in by another group of survivors before a horde comas. But the goal of the is to survive and find a cure. But also some romance as well. I'm willing to change some parts of my idea as well Its up for discussion. Comment here or ecchitext me either is fine.
  4. Howdy! I am in desperate need of some experienced roleplayer(s) who like to put story and character interaction first and smut second. Gender has no bearing on how well someone roleplay's so it doesn't bother me what you identify as. I am however, only comfortable roleplaying as a man with the other roleplaying a woman, just cause I write best from what I know. I love character creation, world building and plot direction but I prefer something that feels natural and fluid, so I like for things to be driven by the character(s) and their interactions. I'm not looking for something specific in terms of genre or plot but I gotta have some sort of conflict or overarching narrative. I have a hard time being invested in short-term one-offs because not only do they lack meaningful conflict, they also don't make me feel very invested in the roleplay. It can be dark, light, slice of life or romcom or really anything, as long as there's some sort of overarching narrative/conflict. I gotta have that spiceyness to the rp for me to be invested and I very much enjoy creating things with my rp partners~, which also makes me feel more invested. Last but not least, I have a hard time replying to anything less than two paragraphs. Maybe it's just me but I rarely find single paragraphs or less to be reply conducive. Proper grammar, decent spelling and reply conducive para's is my kink ~ If you're an experienced roleplayer looking for something with more than just smut, if you like talking with your roleplay partner about the characters and progressing story, please feel free to send me an ecchitext! I will be eagerly waiting ^^
  5. For this RP, I'm looking for someone that is okay with writing very long posts and has a good grasp of spelling and grammar (or maybe uses something like Grammarly). I'm fine with posts taking time between responses, I'd prefer you give your best and wait days or even weeks if you feel like that's what you need. If you're interested in RPing with me but feel like you don't meet the above requirements, feel free to EcchiText me, I've got some other old ideas that I'm sort of sitting on that I'd be fine discussing. My simpler ideas I'm more cool with shorter posts and more lax about grammar/spelling. TL;DR: A world with humans, furries, and kemonomimi (nekos and the like); the world was futuristic with Sci-Fi aspects but also augmented with magic (magi-tech Sci-Fi). I once upon a time had a roleplay with a fictional world (and some characters) that I was rather fond of, and wouldn't mind revisiting it. I'll try to summarize. I mostly really like the world and want to do something with it again, preferably with a partner that likes both world building and character development, and isn't opposed to lengthier (if somewhat less frequent) posts. The spoilers represent text from the original RP from ages ago. I do my best to do a shorter summary if you don't want to read all of that. Background/History: Shorter summary: The world of humanity, at some point, managed to rediscover magic[1]. Combining magic with technology, they were finally able to make significant technological breakthroughs including intergalactic travel. They found a planet that was largely uninhabitable but rich in a crystal that amplified magic, but they weren't the only ones interested in those crystals. A race of furries[2] was also there to mine crystals, and this started a long conflict between furries and humans. The furries were physically superior to humans, and had greater technology, and their mages were much stronger than human mages; humans, on the other hand, had the advantage of numbers overall, as well as having mages more commonly among their kind (while furry mages were incredibly powerful, they were very rare; human mages varied in strength but were not nearly as 'exceptional') [3]. Not much about the war or this era was ever fleshed out. I've got some ideas for it, but the short story is that the war was basically equal on both sides for a long time, until Cyrbrans appeared out of nowhere and destroyed earth [4]. Similar to the ending of Watchmen (either movie or comic), when this strange threat appeared, it ended up somewhat 'uniting' the two sides. With humanity's homeworld destroyed, though the humans managed to evacuate before its destruction, humans lost the war against the furries. The furries basically ended up taking them in since humanity had nowhere else to go (due to the war, neither side had much chance to colonize to an extent that humanity could just get another home planet). That's the general backdrop of the RP, the history of the world. Present Day: In present day, the RP took place on the furry homeworld, which now had a significant human population. Furries, of course, were at the top of the pecking order. They were the privileged class, more or less. Humans weren't necessarily treated awful, but they were much more middle class (by the US definition; if you're in the UK, working class is probably more appropriate) and had much less presence in government or anywhere high ranking. Some humans managed to work their way up the food chain, but generally speaking, the bottom 90% of a company would be something like 80% humans and 5-10% furry, while the top 10% would be 9% furry and 1% human. Racial tensions obviously existed between the two, but other than the occasional radical, there wasn't a ton of challenge to the status quo. Then there was the bottom of the barrel, third-class citizenry - mutts, half-breeds, aka Kemonomimi (nekos, inus, etc.) They were originally born of a union between humans and furries and were looked down upon by either race. Some were products of legitimate relationships, others of rape, but by now they have their own population from offspring amongst themselves as well as the occasional born of an inter-racial relationship [6]. Furthermore, the male population is significantly smaller than the female population due to the war (that explanation was never really fleshed out), and as such, laws were enacted to allow individuals to have multiple spouses; this generally meant one male having multiple wives and didn't really happen the other way around, which was the plot of the original RP - the female lead planning on having multiple partners/mates [7] and used a new form of magic she developed to do so. I had a number of characters and she cast a spell/ritual on them to alter their views/opinions of her. She did this to different extents - one was a friend of hers, one was her boss (who she was most interested in), one was a coworker (that she hated) and the last one was a rich playboy son of a politician. 1. In the original description, it was after humanity nearly destroyed itself with war and technology. This was mostly background and not a detail I'm married to. 2. Their planet was called Podoboo and their species referred to as Podians. Full disclosure, the name of the planet is based on my own screen name. Willing to change this. 3. Some of this was present in the thread, some I'm embellishing because it makes sense to me. Most of these details are open to change if you have suggestions. 4. I can't actually tell you much about Cybrans. Those were Iexist's creation and they had most of the creative control over them and was kinda secretive about what Cybrans actually were. They clearly had plans, but the thread never got far enough for me to find out about them. What I can tell you is that they're hugely magic resistant, and seem to be soulless robots[5], but other than that, and the fact that they're clearly malevolent, not much is known about them. 5. I specify soulless robots because, in this setting, it was actually possible to create and imbue a soul onto some artificial intelligence based robots with the use of crystals and magic. Intelligent Devices (I.D.s) are a somewhat prominent part of this world. For the most part, they were just AI based, with programming, not unlike a smartphone, but two of the main characters augmented their I.D.s to have souls and personalities. 6. While this aspect of the world/RP isn't strictly necessary, I do think the world is more interesting for it. If it's something that makes you uncomfortable, I'm willing to take it out, but would prefer to keep it if that's an option. 7. This whole thing was basically just to create the plot of the original RP which was supposed to be haremesque. I don't mind keeping it, but I'm also willing to modify or ditch it entirely. I'm more attached to the other aspects of the world than this particular If this sounds interesting to you, but you have more questions, either about the world or just me as an RP'er in general, feel free to ask. I copy-pasted most of this from somewhere else and made some edits but if something seems confusing, I probably just missed something so please do ask if there's something unclear to you.
  6. Looking for someone who wishes to partake in my RP (details will be in link). Send a message if intreasted~ https://www.f-list.net/c/magister gabranth/
