We're running tower of the lewd wizard. You can create a character either imprisoned in the tower or a character who's waiting for Tanya to clear the jungle. Up to you.
-
Sure. There should be instructions on how to set up a character somewhere above.
-
Ooooh. That's cool.
-
This post is for Cortex, and we already started playing. There's also a post for dnd 5e.
-
100% correct.

When rolling. You get to pick one of the dice to be an effect dice. The result of the dice doesn't matter, only the type. It isn't used in every tests. But, for example when you made that asset. I picked a d10 to by your effect die, and therefore the size of the asset is a d10. When rolling against a crisis pool. The effect die decides how much of the crisis pool you remove. If the effecf die is larger than a dice in the crisis pool. That die is removed from the crisis pool. If the effect die is equal or smaller a die in the crisis pool is stepped down.
-
So whenever I set the difficulty I roll a dice pool just like you. I use the dice in the crisis pool and doom pool. As well as stress if relevant. It doesn't really concern you. It's just to give you an idea of the threat. In this case I rolled a 1 on a d6 from the crisis pool, a 2 on another d6 from your arousal and a 3 on the d10 from the doom pool. I cannot use the 1 for anything so it gives me a total of 5 with a default effect of d4.
-
Okay, so I just flipped through the demo material. The specifics of this is supposed to work is still forming in my mind, but the idea seems really cool. I'd give it a shot.

I've DM-ed 5e before. Though it didn't really clash well with my group. So many years ago now I switched to pathfinder. So assuming the rules haven't changed I have concept of how this is supposed to play. But I'm looking forward to a dungeon crawl. As a sidethought: I think I have Tomb of horror sitting somewhere on my hard drive if there're people who like it real gritty and unfair.
-
We still need to resolve the crisis pool. I don't think you'll fall to the groping vines but we'll see. Well I rolled a hitch and difficulty of 5 with a effect of a d4.
-
The vines around her arms and legs grew thicker. They started to seep thick resin and brambles to keep her locked in. Her arms and legs were pulled in different directions. The fruit between her legs grew a little every time it pulled out. And got squeezed back down by her tightness. Each time forcing more of its strange sticky and almost electric juices into her womb. It was a tug of war who was draining who. Tanya could easily tell despite it's complexity. Magic controlling the vines were almost broken she just needed to not let it trick her into submission. Though the strange oils, resins, and juices it was leaving behind was incredibly pleasurable, regular people would stand little chance against this lewd magic. --- Doom pool: 6 6 10 Crisis Pool - vines: 6 Arousal: 6 Assets: - Tower Insight 10

I might be wrong, but I believe so.
-
So using will as an effect die you use the wizard's magic to scry the keep. You get an asset rated as a d10. You can use it as a trait where knowing about the tower is helpful.
-
We need to decide a dice pool. I'll roll the difficulty. I rolled 1 6 6. So it's a 12 difficulty for with an effect die of 4.
-
So arousal goes up to a d12. If it's already at 12 and you take more you're stressed out. It means you're removed from the scene. How that plays out depends on the scene. However after that we cut to a new scene where you are recovering from the aftermath. Your arousal is set to the effect die of the difficulty roll. If the effect dice is equal or less your arousal is stepped up instead. Your arousal is stepped down by one during exploration or transitional scenes. Nudity works mostly the same. Expect you can't take more nudity at a d12. As that is but naked. And you don't recover it during slower scenes unless there's an in universe reason for it.
-
Hmm. Depends what kind of information. An asset must be something that helps overcome this scene. There're a couple of ways to create an asset. Spending PP gives you a d6 asset that only helps out in the current scene. No test required You can perform a test to create an asset, given that the method makes sense. Which I think it does. In this case the asset is the size of the effect die. Failure would probably mean you take more stress as the vines keep fucking your character. It's a little unclear the duration, but information might be good for the entire adventure. I dunno. You can choose.
-
Oh, I just finished the post. But in general, failing a test means you don't do what you set out to do. In this case drain the vines. So you can then narrate freely how that happens. Generally we don't want to run tests where failure means nothing happens. After you've narrate how your character fails I'll add some consequences and we can discuss what actions would resolve this.

Tanya tried to use her powers of sex and seduction to drain the plant. Though her focus was suddenly disrupted as vines around her ankles finally managed to latch on. She was flung up into the cannopy. Hanging upside down by vines creeping up her legs. Her torso is slowly hoisted up until she dangles horizontally. From this angle the eggplant finally manages to angle inwards. It thrusts in, the wide plant stretching her. Tanya's tightness is enough to squeeze juices out of the plant. A sticky nectar that seems to light a fire in her infernal depths. To make it worse, small vines around her clit has started stroking it with precision human hands could never achieve. The roots in her ass had started growing bumps, which would pop and leak oil, lubricating it for the rest of the roots to probe deeper. Up in the tower, the lewd wizard wandered in his study. He wore a black bathrobe decorated with stars. He was assembling the last pieces of his wand, when he noticed Tanya being caught by his floral sentry. He waves a hand as magic surges down the tower. Empowering the security further.
-
Sure. I can narrate it this time. There's no difference between a failed test with a hitch or a failed test without a hitch. At least not narratively for you. A hitch only means that the main threat of the adventure increases somehow. And I'll always include that in my reply.
-
So, rolling a 1 is a hitch. 1s cannot be used to for the total of the result. Whenever you roll a 1 I can activate it. Which I give you a plot point, in exchange for being able to add a dice to the doom pool. You do not beat the test. So you're not able to sexually overpower the vines. You can narrate it, or I can if you prefer. You gain stress rating of a d6. Either nudity or arousal. Stress is rolled against you. You can narrate either how some of your clothing is ruin or how you start becoming aroused. Getting your arousal to a d12 ends the scene as you get so horny you submit to whatever is in front of you. Plot points can be used to: - activate my hitches, with our set of rules allows you to step up an asset - you can spend a point to create an asset, which is a thing that can be added to the dice pool. It's rated at a d6. And only lasts for the scene. - you can spend a point to add multiple traits from one set to a dice pool - you can spend a point to add more that two dice to the results.
-
Oh, hmm. I for some reason registered the opposite, for some reason. We can sap these vines dry. A successful test does clear the crisis meaning that it is resolved. Which can mean the plants wither and die. Or you crawl out of them unharmed. Failure means that you take some stress and I'll change the situation allowing you to try something different. Current difficulty is 6.
-
Super fair roll I'll fix it. I didn't realize the slide was wide enough to allow big thing. I'll have it rub against the entrance then. It's the same crisis. You managed to remove a single dice from the pool with your successful check, meaning you've weakened it. The crisis represents the vines still being able to either sexually overpower you or strip you(produce stress)
-
Absolutely, it's a narrative focused game so you should be in charge in deciding what "winning" is.

Tanya could feel the plant draining her energy, perhaps even a little more than the plant was able to take. The plant kept trying to pick her up, but unable to grasp on to anything but her holes. With the surge of energy the plant was siphoning from Tanya it started to bud and sprout flowers along it's length. Vines and roots grew thicker closer to Tanya's nether parts. The thickest ones finding themselves at home stretching her asshole. Small vines, like dexterous fingers were grabbing on to her lower lips, parting them. Smaller once even found themselves grasping onto her clit. Then one of the newly spouted flowers started to grow into a strange eggplant looking fruit. It was smooth, but almost veiny looking with a flared tip. It was prodding against Tanya's entrance, waiting for her to be angled correctly for penetration. --- Doom pool: 6 6 Crisis Pool - vines: 6

Hmm. Normally you're not allowed to add traits from the same trait set into the same roll. It's worth noting that that your distinctions are always a d8. I might've been a little unclear with my explanation earlier. I was stringing two seperate tests after eachother. But we can use this as your first test. It's a success, you can describe how Tanya makes her way through the groping vines. Besides the only one trait from each set rule you did it correctly.
