  1. Vivi let's out a light squeal, and balls up her hands into fists. She than hold them up to her chest and begins to pout. "Hey! My bottom is still sore! Stop that!" Her gaze turns to the man, and her face turns a bit flush. "Ah, sorry you had to hear that sir."
  2. "Eep! I didn't mean to laugh, I mean I'm not laughing at you, I mean..." Vivi explains, but quickly bites her tongue when she sees the lady hunter quickly advance toward her.
  3. The two formidable hunters silently looking at each other then at her, Vivi feels equal parts frightened and awkward. She begins to laugh nervously.
  4. Vivi nervously crosses her arms over her chest, and steals a glance at the rifle spear next to the door. She fidgets with her apron, and gently smiles. "O-of course I can stay, if that is what you wish." She picks up a towel and brings it over to the tub, placing in gently within reach of the man. Her eyes are once again drawn to the odd symbols adorning his midsection.
  5. "Oh, I-I didn't realize you were in h-here together.." Vivi stammers as she looks around the room nervously. Her eyes notice the strange marks on the man's chest and quickly averts her eyes. "If there is nothing else you need , I will get out of your hair..." She places the rest of the stack on the bed.
  6. A rush of images and sounds flooding her mind, Vivi jumps out of her chair, stands up and points to the ceiling. "Towels! For room 108! On the double!" She shouts as she runs to the linen closet, and gets a large stack of rough hewn towels. Then as quickly as her skinny legs will take her, she trots to the strange mans room. Vivi taps on the door, unable to see over the stack of towels. "Housekeeping, I have some fresh towels for you sir."
  7. Vivi throws some more wood on the fire in the hearth, and gently closes the iron ember guard before wiping down the table the two hunters were seated at. Night has fallen, and while the windows are barred with wrought iron, the door is always open. Luckily, the other workers at the inn are more accustomed to their nightly ritual. A large man, with sickly skin and dark, baggy eyes places a stool near the door, and loads an old 10 gauge hunting shotgun. He clicks the weapon shut then plops down on his seat. "Good evening Boris, did you finish fixing the leak in the kitchen?" Vivi asks as she fold up her cleaning rag. Boris grumbles and thumbs the stock on his gun. "Well I suppose there's always tomorrow, just be sure to empty the bucket." She remarks as she returns to her post at the front desk. The only sounds are the crackle of the fire, Vivi tapping her foot against her chair, and the occasional inhuman sound from the desolate town.
  8. Vivi shakes her head, and closes the journal. "Her writing becomes more and more haggard, and by the time she mentions him, it is just scribbles. But she does mention that he walks through the town at all hours." Vivi hangs her head, and apologizes to the strange man. "I'm sorry. I wish I could be of more help. But, be careful, even the hunters who linger too long become, well..." She gestures to the storeroom door, alluding to the hunter woman sitting out in the dining area.
  9. Vivi is taken aback a bit by the odd eyes of the guest, but having seen the oddities that plague the town, not surprised. " I have been reading my aunt journal, from back when she could write. Slot of it seems to be hearsay. But one thing keeps getting mentioned over and over, a person." I pull the journal out of my apron pocket, and flip open to a page. "A...Mad Jacob?"
  10. Vivi touches her hand to her cheek, slightly flustered by the attention of such a unique man. "Yes, of course, please follow me to the storage room." Her heart flutters a bit, being alone with a man, but Vivi powers through and leads the man to a latched door near the kitchen. She undoes the latch and gestures the man inside, as she will follow and close the door.
  11. I smile warmly back at the new guest, and wish him a comfortable stay. "And of course, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask!" I turn to the hunter cleaning her formidable weapon. "Of course Miss, I will get you one right away." I scurry over to the kitchen, and make a passable sandwich out of the meager ingredients available. Namely roasted lamb and pickles slices on a roll. I bring out the sandwich along with a glass of crimson wine, and gently place them in front of the hunter.
  12. Vivi bows her head to the lady hunter, knowing that she will do her usual routine. However a deep voice speaks eloquently, something seemingly lost in this town. She turns to see a man in strange garb, but seemingly unarmed. "Ah of course sir! Please fill out the guest book and I will get you a key." Vivi opens a large ledger on the desk, filled with names and dates, some completely illegible. She then turns around and grabs a key on a ring out of a cabinet behind the desk.
  13. It's been over a week since Vivi arrived in Alter, and started working as a maid in her aunt’s inn, The Batfish. Something is truly amiss here, with Vivi noticing many strange things occurring with the townsfolk. They are strange in both appearance and behavior. Even her aunt, who was once a jovial innkeeper, has become a wretched hermit, never leaving the safety of her room and leaving day to day operation of the inn to Vivi. Besides the locals, Hunters prowl the town, armed to the teeth, and many seem to be less than sane. Some have been staying at the inn, while others seem to be squatting at dilapidated buildings across Alder. Today, while tending to her aunt, Vivi found a small journal among her things, and since her aunt is no capacity to object, she decided to take it. Finding the inn quiet as usual, Vivi decides to sit at the front desk, and read the journal, which begins to reveal how the town of Alder began to unravel.
  14. Vivi begins to hum a tune while she adjusts her bow. She gets up, and grabs a broom. Vivi starts to sweep the area near the door of the debris tracked in by the hunters.
  15. "Okay. If you do, just find me or one of the other members of the staff." I look around and mutter " If any of them are even here."
  16. Vivi greets the hunter entering the inn. "Hello miss, do you need anything?"
  17. Vivi shakes her head, and retreats behind the counter. "These people sure are strange." She thinks to herself.
  18. Vivi let's out a sigh of relief that Mad Jacob has once again left the inn in relative peace.
  19. "Hmm? Where is that coming from? No one lives around here, I think." Vivi ponders aloud, then turns her attention back to her customer. "Sorry, did you want something to drink?"
  20. Vivi pokes her head out the doorway of the kitchen. "Oh! I'll be just a moment miss!" Vivi straightens out her apron and scurries up to the table.
  21. This is where Vivi works and lives, if anyone staying here needs anything, do feel free to ask her.
