I forgot about that while I was writing, I’ll update it -
Alexandrine remained quiet on what that demon did to Elie. Maybe it would have changed Mitsuko’s opinion, maybe not. But it was not her place to say. She still did not really understand why Elie felt this way. Getting confused in the moment. Your body enjoying it while it happened. That happened sometimes…Alexandrine could understand that. But to have feelings linger after that. That was risky. At least that demon could not have given Elie a child, like Emi’s mother. That would have complicated things, much more. She just hoped the demon had not put some spell on Elie. If it had been Elie instead, given a child by Zorn…what would she have done? “Some are beyond redemption.” She said it with a blunt certainty. Nothing would convince her otherwise. But she was talking about old enemies. “But that was the first time I saw that demon too. I am skeptical but not as certain about that one as others. But if you’re cards are that reliable, see if they will give you an answer.” She really doubted it would work, but she still would not stop Elie. Then there was Mitsuko’s question. “Pets would be the wrong the way to put it. But some teams have something non-human among them. A spirit, or other more noble creature’s who feel they have same duty as us. For some teams that creature is the source of their power. In other cases they are not, but help the team. Their size and shape can vary greatly. Some deceptively small or cute. Others impressive enough to intimidate demons or monsters or other enemies.”.

Mystery Character’s intro is up. Potentially an intro for a few characters. But remains to see if it gets any more before settling on exactly who she is. -
Jumi had also watched Emi and Rin have their concert, from the side of the crowd. She was pleased how it went. She was no expert, but maybe the girls had potential. She did not join the crowd heading off towards the private rooms. She had done her part to keep Elie here, now it looked like she and another girl had something to talk to Alexandrine about. Instead she found her way back to the merchandise area. Curious to see what was being sold about her this time. She was aware of most of the official stuff at least, but there was usually surprises. One of the men selling various art of different Magical Girls looked uneasy as she browsed through them. He knew what she was checking for. Of course she was unlikely to see it just sticking out. She asked the question as she looked through the stuff on display. “You aren’t selling any drawings of me nude, are you?” He fidgeted. It was not against the rules, as long as it was not openly displayed. The girls understood plenty of boys, and some girls, were interested in them like that. At least no one here sold the twisted stuff. Drawings of monsters and girls, bodies united. That art existed. But it was too disrespectful to sell here. The man had not answered yet. It was allowed, but it was embarrassing to be asked by one of the subjects of the art. “Maybe I will buy it off you. Or have you already sold some of it?” It was allowed, Jumi was not going to try to insult the man, or shut him down. But maybe she would buy all of those pictures, as many as she could, before someone else did.

It was like a dream. Maybe it was a dream. Hazy. Two women stood in a hellish dungeon cell. They looked almost like twins. Perhaps a trick, one imitating the others. Another figure observed from the shadows. There were screams, pain, tears. Starving. Lack of sleep. That shadowy figure’s desire for pleasure? How long had the one girl been here? Who was she? No answers came. The observer? The observer was one of these women. But which? She could not say. She could only watch. It seemed like a memory, but whose memory? This scene had played out so many times. The wretched girl on the floor, in chains, she had been abandoned. No one was coming to save her. She had been taught the power of the demons, of the figure in back. He was strong. Was she looking at herself? Or the figure standing over her, with a smug face? A knowing smile. That the other was cracking? So many tools of pain and powers had been used on her. She resisted so bravely at first. Swore death before breaking. How long had it been? No one to save that one? Day after day of it. Eventually she was put to a test. The demons took her out to fight one of their enemies. Non human at first. To test if she would kill for them. She did. She did not attempt to run away. She went out of her way to do better than the demons she was fighting with. She wanted the pain the end. But there was something else. A bitterness over being abandoned. But a genuine…respect? For the strength of her captors. Maybe they were right after all? Humanity would understand. They just needed to be taught, taught like this girl had been. Like she had been? Or like she had taught the other to be? It was so confusing. Trying to remember who she was. How much of this had already happened or might happen later. What would she wake up to?

Now that Alexandrine believed this question about a very specific demon, she had to consider how to answer it. With Mitsuko here, she was not going to mention what the demon did specifically unless Elie did first. Though it was probably worth mentioning indirectly. "I should put it this way. After what that one did, do you have a reason to believe she can be brought to our side?" Was it impossible? Had it ever happened? In the centuries they had protected the people for generations, it was hard to say it had never happened, but if it had, it was extremely rare. Maybe not even once a generation. She was not going to judge Elie for wanting to try, having an idea what she went through. But she had to be realistic about this too. "I am not going to tell you not to try...just don't let this hurt you, or lead you down the darker path." That was what she most wanted to avoid here, she did not want to risk her encouragement leading to Elie's corruption.
-
Alexandrine listened to the questions. The first question. Was Elie asking what Alexandrine thought? She closed her eyes. She had already told Elie that she had also had the enemy, demons, force themselves on her. There was no reason to mention that again. “Be very careful. What you are asking about…normally leads to what that other woman was singing about. ‘Broken Girls’. Traitors, who fight for those they fell in love with, abandon humanity.” She sighed, it was time to tell them. “Most demons only do that to hurt us, for their own pleasure.” She glanced at Mitsuko. “Be very careful when fighting. Many of them will try to force themselves on you.” That said, she could not exactly force Elie to give up anything she might feel. Unaware she had also been partially seduced by the same demon. ”’Luna’…Emi is the result of that sort of thing. Her mother was a Magical Girl, no longer with us….her father…I ripped her father apart personally.” There was a little bitterness in her voice. “For unrelated reasons. I had no idea about Emi until a few days ago. I did not know her mother well, was not part of my old team. Her father, Zorn, was a general of my old team’s last enemy.” She was handling these questions out of order. They were all somewhat connected though. “I am not her mother, could never take her place. That said, I feel something like that I suppose. A desire to give her a happiness she has not felt, at least since her mother died. You could maybe call it a little maternal. If you want to show Emi your other self, there is no harm doing that here.” There was one question she could not really answer though. “That attack would have been shortly before I became a Magical Girl, and far away. Maybe I could ask around or do other research, but I know nothing about it right now.”
-
Alexandrine watched, listened. This sort of thing could happen. There was some variation in how the girls found their power. Some needed help of an established veteran, like Rin had. Others discovered it on their own. In some teams there was another power, spirit or other that gave the members their power. Mitsuko’s origin was not especially strange. “That you are one of us is real. I can say that much. Though, like the Princess of Fate here, where you go from here is a question mostly for you.” She took a seat on one of the chairs. Without questions, it was hard to say where to begin. “Before I try to decide where to start explaining things, do you have any questions.” She asked Elie. If Mitsuko did not have any, it was worth checking with her again next.

I had mentioned the idea before. The possibility of doing ‘what if’s’ of a sort, to see how things might have played out differently. If people liked the idea, while keeping the main story going. In Emi’s case I had mentioned examples of her joining her father, or if she had agreed to the previous offer to marry Hikaru. I thought I had remembered seeing a reply from you saying you liked the possibility. But now I’m not seeing it, other than a reaction to the post I first mentioned it. Up to you then, if we do that. -
"We are in her mind in a sense. Connected to it, at least." Pelintira explained. The surrounding shifted, to the village where Mao found the girl. Surrounded by small homes, figures walking around, doing their daily business, a few farming, the sounds of a smith's hammer and a few horses. None paid attention to the two of them. "Figures of her mind, memory of a sort. They will not see us." The image shifted again. Now inside one of the houses. Then they saw the girl, sitting on a chair in the corner. She was sewing a piece of clothes, a dress it appeared. "She on the other hand may notice us sooner or later." That was the girl. The soul, maybe, or perhaps a memory occupied by the soul. Either way, it was real in a sense the other figures were not, capable of interacting with others, but lost in the moment for now.

Might get busy writing in a bit. May give Jumi a convention post. Something for Takamo or 'Fujiko' to do, if they don't meet each other. Also may write up an intro for 'mystery character' (that for now will remain vague about exactly what she is). Might write a start for the Emi/Zorn alternate story as well. -

Depending on how busy your Sunday is, this may be a short nap for Emi. They can join the conversation whenever she is rested. -
Rin was tempted to see what happened if she tried to feed Emi. But Emi feel asleep rather quick. She leaned against Emi looking down at the Alexandrine plushie brought in with her. She imagined one of those being made for Emi soon. For both of them. Though the real thing was much more appealing to Rin. She heard the stories. What could happen in these rooms. Eventually she and Emi might be here with a number of boys. An experiment Rin was a little nervous about, but willing to try, if she had Emi at her side. She was not really listening to the conservation the other three were about to have, though it might have useful information for her and Emi.
-
“I’m sure you both have many questions. Come along.” Alexandrine led the way, as Rin helped Emi along. They passed through the crowd, the occasional hands patting them. Mostly the two new singers, and the well known veteran Magical Girl. She led them past various stands and booths, activities towards the back. Several staff, and volunteer Knights were watching the entrance to a hall in back. “Diamond Sorceress.” One greeted them. It was understood why she was here and she was handed a key, with a room number on it. She led them into the hall. “Fans and guests can only come back here with a Magical Girl or Knight accompanying them. A place they can meet privately. She walked to the door and unlocked it, letting everyone follow inside. “Rin, take Emi in the back, to let her rest. You two can join us after she has recovered.” Rin nodded picked up one several plates with various snacks on it and led Emi to the back. The room looked a lot like a hotel room. Intentionally. Rin led Emi towards the back, where a single bed waited and helped her onto it. Setting the plate next to her and sitting at her side. Alexandrine gestured Elie and Mitsuko towards the furniture in the main room. There was the table, surrounded by a few chairs and a couch. “Take a seat. I’m sure there much you both want to know. Before I start trying to explain things, do either of you have questions?”

He’s seen her when she’s really pissed off. In the final battle against his previous master, where she lost her old team. Went on a bit of demon bloodbath. Though only a fraction of them were left at that point, her team took out a big portion of the demons with them. He was almost killed himself, played dead to avoid being finished off. He is partially warning Hellhound for her own safety. But of course also does not want anyone else to get her before he feels ready to get revenge. Right now she isn’t out to kill of course, just make sure Emi and Toshiro don’t get hurt or captured. Especially Emi. If she feels her newly forming team is in danger, she is not going to take it well. May push the convention along a bit there, Emi being tired should be able to set up the conversation between Alexandrine, Elie and Mitsuko. Rin and Emi can join in later. -

Yeah, you guys are good at that. Of course I’m still wrestling with exactly what Alexandrine’s powers are (and Rin’s though hers don’t currently matter). -

The voice of Zorn spoke through the shadow, directly into Hellhound’s mind. ‘Beware the older woman in back! She is an old enemy…though I wonder about the girl you chose to play with. Is her scent similar to mine. Respond with your thoughts. I can hear them for now.’ He had considered what she might be. He wondered if Hellhound detected some evidence that might back it up. Alexandrine narrowed her eyes. She pushed Ryan back through the portal. She glanced to the boy, then Emi, and the other demon. She was not going to let Emi be left behind. She was going to make sure she could make it to the portal. The body began to glow again. Judging if she needed to attack, to allow either of the two left a chance to escape, to shake either of the opponents off. -
There were things Elie did not know about either Emi or Rin. Things probably worth telling her. But maybe they should move first. "There are things for us all to talk about. The private rooms are more for personal meetings with fans. But it may be good for us all to visit one. Have a talk before going back out in to the convention, doing other things." She looked to Emi. "Give her a little time to rest as well." She walked over, took Emi's hand. Helped her up. "Let's hold off on any transforming before we get there. You should always make sure you have as much privacy for that as possible." Rin nodded. Staying at Emi's side. Realizing there was a fifth girl, quiet so far, who would apparently be following them. Yet another new Magical Girl, it seemed. "There will be some food already in the room." Alexandrine guessed at least Emi, probably Rin too, would want something to eat.

Might be more of Alexandrine and Elie and maybe Mitsuko talking at least at first then. Might be able to get that set up. Alexandrine in the Wanders is more 'I want to go home, but will fight if I have to'. -

We have been getting a little loose on the turns. Feel free to get some Mitsuko posts in when you want. I have waiting a bit between replies to give you a chance. Alexandrine is probably going to get them all into one of the private rooms. But in this case just to talk openly. Mix Emi & Rin idol planning with any questions Elie and Mitsuko have about being Magical Girls. -
"They both do, hm?" Rin had certainly been much more eager about it than Emi. Maybe two sides of her earlier self? Fear and excitement? "You think they have potential then?" Elie would be much more qualified to judge. Possibly the sort of person Rin called out for, to help them take a step into that world. "We can find a place to talk about that. And any questions you two have." She addressed Elie and Mitsuko. Before leading them towards the back area that Emi and Rin had wandered off to. That was a somewhat private area, but there were better options. "You did a good job!" Rin congratulated Emi, rubbing her head as the two of them rested. She suspected they would be joined soon. By Alexandrine, and that woman, Elie, they had rescued the other day. Rin saw her at Alexandrine's side. "You saw how much they enjoyed it. It was not just me either. They would love to see us again. Though don't worry, we can do quieter things from here on." Other than the potential boy hunt, what they did from here on might be easier on Emi. At least to a degree. "Though now that we've done that. We should spend some time signing autographs at some point."

The Wanderers
SataiRolePlayingGuy replied to Balthier's topic in A World of Magic(al Girls)'s Story Topics
Alexandrine watched the two creatures. This new one was different. Dangerous, but perhaps not cruel. There was something lingering in the air she did not like. A trace of something much more unpleasant. Too faint to try to identify. A third one, who escaped when the portal opened? She was unlikely to be able to trace it now. She kept Ryan behind behind her. "I am only here to retrieve my friends. I intend to keep my word." The new creature made this much more unpredictable. She was unsure if it was going to attack. Hopefully Emi did not attack recklessly. She did not know with any certainty where they were. How easy it would be to find their way back, if the portal closed. That was the demon's biggest strength. -
They were only singing one song. Only on stage for a few minutes. Even if it felt longer. Rin let go of Emi for the final lines of the song, but stood at her side. Then the song ended and the cheering began. Alexandrine of course was not that expressive. But clapped along with the audience, smiling. A few louder cheers came from the audience. A random voice or two saying how much they loved the song, or the singers. Rin waved at the crowd. Winked at a few who appeared extra enthusiastic, her other arm wrapped around Emi’s shoulder. They had to wait a moment to step down.

Friday being my other quiet day of the week. The song might not get finished until this evening. The convention is a few days long thing. The song being one of many things happening. But exactly what else the individual characters get up to remains to be seen. He could be there. Could be one of the guys Emi and Rin eventually take to a private room. He could get involved with others, possibly several different ones over the few days. -
