He accepted her hand with his, giving it a gentle shake, as his eyes unwillingly focused on the red shirt she sported under the suit. He swallowed. Throughout his years of teaching under Veronica, he had grown accustomed to her flirtuous behaviour, but somehow he could never get past how good that color composition looked on her. He realized how weird of a fixation it was, but he couldn't help but always find himself attracted to it. He cleared his throat, getting his thoughts back on track. "Right... Glad to hear you've been enjoying yourself." His hand went to scratch the back of his head. "I presume you want a report on the orientation?" He asked, a bit more intent on moving the conversation forward now. -

Victor stretched a bit back into the chair, trying not to feel as if he was about to be interrogated. The hard clatter of heels always sounded quite intimidating, even despite the fact that he had nothing to fear from the headmistress. And seeing how the chatter nearby also seemed to quieten down, it was clear that he wasn't the only one who felt this way. He almost machinally looked over his desk, reassuring himself that his usual mess of papers wasn't there. No wonder, he didn't even have time to make one yet. One of his hands pulled his bag closer to his hips, the other made sure to get rid of any wrinkles on his jacket. It probably wasn't perfect, but the gray suit he put on for the sake of the opening day still looked much more official compared to the old dusty coat he insisted on wearing otherwise. Her scent hit him before she even entered the room, pleasantly stimulating his hypersensitive senses. It fit her well, he had to admit. He raised himself from the seat to greet the headmistress. "Always got time for you, Veronica" he said, smiling faintly, but genuinely. "I trust that your afternoon has been pleasant?" the werewolf asked, hoping to dispel the rather formal tone on which the headmistress started the conversation. The last thing he needed right now was even more tension. He guided her towards his desk, motioning for her to take a seat as he positioned himself on the other side of the table, making sure to have his bag at hand. -

Victor stepped nervously as he made his way towards the teachers' lounge. It's been what? Two hours since he finished up orientation, he only just managed to finish all the necessary paperwork, and he still had to write that exam for tomorrow morning. He'd usually just prepare a number of topics and have the students write an essay on it, but after today's lesson, he decided that he should probably make it easy on them and write them a multiple choice test or something similar. Everyone was on edge enough already without having to worry about describing effects of the American Civil War. It would mean more work for him though. His hand went towards the inner pocket of his jacket, only to stop mid-air, making him sigh, as he instead adjusted his tie. He stopped smoking several years back, a while after he got the position at the academy, but the reflex to reach for a cigarette still showed itself when he was nervous. In truth, this entire day had been keeping him on edge. He slept bad, was late for his own orientation lesson, and managed to reassure practically none of his students of how will they do in the future. Well, maybe except Yakshi. He felt like he didn't really do much, but the lust demon did seem relieved after talking with him. It was a small win, but, well, we take those. He sighed into the air. Brooding would only get him so far. He should probably take some time to unwind. He passed through the door, deciding to bring a smile onto his face. Well, at least he didn't have that much work on his hands. He could spare a moment to sit down and take a breather. Maybe even spend some time with a good book and a cup of coffee. That reminded him, he would have to greet that new librarian. Didn't recall seeing him at the opening ceremony. He nodded to a couple familiar figures that seemed to discuss something in agitation at the nearby table, and took a seat a bit further away so that he would not interrupt them. His thoughts went to Veronica @JennyDK. He wondered if the party at the Assembly Hall was still going. She was probably taking care of it, mingling with anyone who still lasted that long... -

Yeah, Victor's the history teacher and third year homeroom. Misty I honestly did not touch at all since the first year orientation, but yeah, she got retconned. (although I did not bother to change the classroom dialogue, just imagine it was different :v) -

3rd year classroom

Hearing that he managed to help the girl, Victor couldn't help but smile. He had to admit, it made his day much better as well. He gave her space to gather her things, supporting himself back on the edge of the table. His brow did rise at the suggestion of watching over the eventual club. "Well, I'm not much of seamster myself, but I'll be glad to help." He chuckled lightly, and followed the girl to the door. "And if you ever need anything else, don't be afraid to ask. I'm here for all of you." He smiled reassuringly, happy that the situation turned out well in the end. -

Viktor watched the girl look through the list, hoping that he could help her. Yakshi's question did take him aback a bit. "A... sewing club?" He asked slowly, before adjusting himself, hoping that the hesitation in his voice wouldn't have been taken wrongly. He thought for a moment, his eyes focusing on the empty space next to the girl's head. "No, I don't suppose there is one." He finally said, returning his gaze to Yakshi. It seemed a bit outlandish to him. Sewing seemed like such an... earthly interest when it was literally a demon he was speaking with. He could see where that could come from though. He, too blushed slightly, although from a vastly different reason, as he found his attention to have focused on the unique tail of the demoness. His hand went to scratch the back of his neck. "Uhmm... I suppose nothing stands in the way of creating one. Although you'd need at least one more person." -

Victor pushed himself off the edge of the table and leaned over Yakshi's desk, taking a look at the sheet, examining the lists of classes. "Since most of your requirements are out of the way, you're actually in a quite good spot," he mentioned after a while, a hint of relief in his voice as the girl seemed a bit more motivated after his speech. "You can take whatever seems enjoyable instead of having to focus on the things you must take." His hand traveled down the list of available classes, stopping on a few. "I'm not sure what exactly your hobbies are..." he started, motioning towards entries such as "Creative Writing" or "Illustration" "...but try finding something that will align with them." He obviously couldn't select the classes for her, but at least he could give her a couple guidelines as to how she could find something she'd enjoy. "If that doesn't help, try to see which classes are conducted by teachers you like. Even if the class will turn out not as interesting as you thought, at least you'll enjoy the interaction." -

[OOC: Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I really don't know how to approach this.] A bitter smile once again appeared on Victor's face, as he raised himself from the seat. "Well," he started, heading towards Yakshi's @OlrukTheSmall desk, thinking about what she had said. "If it's of any help, I don't think that your school life came to nothing," he decided, a contemplative tone in his voice, as he leaned back, now half-sitting on a neighbouring table. "I've seen you on my lessons. You're clever. You're hard-working. I know that if you put your mind to something, you will succeed at it." He smiled at her, trying to catch eye contact. "And I know that you're going through a lot. You're in a world you barely know and you're getting asked to make decisions that may stay with you for the rest of your life. It's natural to be scared, confused." He fell silent for half a second, his gaze shifting to the side, a note of... maybe nostalgia? in his eyes. He shook his head slightly, returning with his eyes to the lust demon, continuing his message. "But what's important is to keep moving forward." "So, let's take a look at that list." He smiled. -
Lucy blushed in faint emerald, as Keya's @Godot hand rested on her thigh, the translucent skin giving in under his fingers. She looked at him, and pushed slightly into his fingertips, letting him know that she didn't mind the affection. A light chuckle escaped her mouth at the image of a confused monster misoperating a vending machine that the dragon's words put into her mind. A large, happy grin lit up her face as Ruben @Thatannoyinggod asked about what she and Keya had been doing. "Oh, I'm so glad you asked!" The girl proclaimed, giving a short, appreciative look to the dragon sitting next to her. "So Keya here..." She started, bringing her bag onto her lap, her fingers feeling out the zipper. "...was flying around the country recently..." She continued, unzipping it. "...and about an hour ago, he came by, and brought me:" she began to conclude, triumphantly starting to raise the computer out of the bag, her hand still slightly covering its back. "This!" She revealed the casing to Ruben, uncovering what appeared to be a beautiful piece of art on the laptop's back, depicting the members of the Xenophiles - a monster rock band that Lucy was practically fanatical about. Moreso, the black marker writing on the lower side of the cover exposed that it was, in fact, signed - by the band members, no doubt. She reveled in the glory of holding such a valuable object in her hands, smiling wildly and tilting her head towards Keya, giving him an adoration-filled look. "So in summary, I spent the last couple of whiles worshipping him." She chuckled, lowering the computer back into the bag.

The slime-girl smiled hearing how everyone was set on visiting the tavern. It did sound like a really nice place to hang out sometimes. The atmosphere did turn a bit more serious though, as Ruben @Thatannoyinggod mentioned the matter of recent robberies, but Lucy couldn't help herself but give a light joke. "Well, thankfully I don't look like a vending machine all of the time." She said, giving a sly wink to the group. "But you're right in that it does sound a bit worrisome." She placed down her coffee and rested her head a bit deeper into Keya's @Godot tail. She then straightened up in her sit, a sly grin extending on her face."Weeelll... Maybe we should investigate!" She half-jokingly proposed, not really convinced of the idea herself.

Great job Vic, now you've gone and upset her. He berated himself silently and smiled, trying to reassure the girl. She seemed awfully nervous. "Take your time, Yakshi. I'll be around for a while anyways." He trailed off a bit, looking at the papers he had in front of him. The one part of opening a year nobody talks about. He grinned bitterly, his hand blindly searching out a pen from the drawer. He leaned back over the paperwork, taking a quick look at the attendance list. Well, at least pretty much everyone showed up. Right, except Zadria of course. He raised his pen for a second to note her absence, but stopped himself mid-writing. She had enough of a struggle herself. His gaze verted through the remaining names, stopping when it found Yakshi. Lust demon. How did he even end up with, what was it, four? lust demons in his class? Well, compared to the LuBelles, Yakshi was practically an angel. And she did seem to care about the school. Viktor could respect that. "Hmm?" He raised his head from the papers once more, hearing the demoness start to apologize. She didn't really stand out to him too much during the lesson. Sure, he did catch a rather... interesting scent from her before, but she seemed to calm herself quickly, before he even had to intervene. And she even helped him pass the papers later during the class. "It's alright." Viktor smiled warmly, unsure what exactly the demon did to feel guilty. "I'd be surprised if there weren't any chaos with a class like this." He chuckled shortly, resting his pen on the page, giving the girl more of his attention. She still seemed to struggle with the sheet before her. "I'm sure there are some classes that you enjoyed last year, right?" -

Viktor sighed as he sat down heavily behind his desk, machinally opening one of the drawers to pull out the paperwork. The lesson went as awful as he imagined it would. What happens after we graduate? What opportunities will we have? What was he supposed to tell them? That they'd be lucky to find a job? That they'll be looked down upon because they are different? Or should he lie, tell them that everything would go alright, that they would graduate, chase a career of their dreams and live happily ever after? He remembered how he was treated when his... mutation showed. He was lucky to have a human form most of the times, but still the best he could have hoped for, was a job at a gas station that barely made his ends meet, and he got kicked out of even that after he transformed during one of his shifts. It was hard to say what would have happened of him if not for Veronica and Ironclaw. But not every monster could be a teacher. Sure, some of them would have it easier. Some just looked different, but in reality were quite similar to humans. But then people like Zadria... Her temperament was just a part of her nature, but what boss would understand that? What job could she really find? These monsters were some of the first to try and actually integrate themselves into the human world. But the human world wasn't ready for them. And they suffered because of it. He slammed his palm into the desk. It wasn't fair. These kids deserve more. His claws retracted, pulling some of the wooden splinters alongside them, his hand mindlessly stroking over the punctures in the desk, as if it would somehow repair the damage. It didn't. The werewolf sat back slowly, not even realizing when he left his chair, his gaze rising slightly as he heard something, no, someone, in the back of the class. He got slightly flustered, realizing that he had an audience to his tantrum. "Excuse me, Miss Leanan @OlrukTheSmall," he apologized, trying to maintain at least an impression of professionalism, as he tried to discern what was it that the girl was focused on. "...Can I help you?" A question followed, a tone of genuine concern in the man's voice. No matter what was to come, they were still his students and for them, he would have to be strong. -
Lucy pouted her lips at Keya's @Godot accusation in a half-mocking manner, rolling her top-most eye. "Oh c'mon Keya, you know I hate you all equally!" She muttered teasingly through the large bite of cake she took. A stifled groan escaped her lips at the dragon's follow-up statement on how everyone's first place for him. What was this, a competition now? Truth is, she couldn't rate her friends if she tried. Each and every one of them was so vastly unique, and with each her relation was so significantly different. "Hey, bite back a bit Rubes!" The slime-girl prompted, hearing as Ruben @Thatannoyinggod decided to apologize. "Nothing wrong with getting drunk on your lonesome!" She continued, trying to reassure the guy. She reached out to the table, extending her hand so that she would not have to get up, and grabbed the iced coffee, with determination looking at the vast amounts of cream she was about to force into her mouth. Despite her deep interest in the treat, she still gave Ruben much of her attention, perking up slightly at the mention of free drinks. "Well, we'll have to hold him to it then!" Lucy grinned at the idea.
-
Lucy smiled widely noticing the treats Ruben @Thatannoyinggod carried on his tray. Her hands raised, the fingers linking into a heart-like symbol. The fingertips submerged into each other, completing the shape. "You're the best, Rubes!" Lucy exclaimed, "Well, close top 3 at least!" She chuckled, winking at the human playfully, her arms falling down onto the laptop bag, once again separated into human-like hands. She leaned forward to get the delicacies, eagerly treating herself to the cake, before making herself comfortable deep within the seat, her head resting against the soft texture of Keya's @Godot tail. Her face took a joyful expression as she ate spoon after spoon of the pastry, enjoying it immensely. Slimes could in theory "eat" with any part of her body, simply inserting the food into the goo, but she had learned that humans viewed it as good manners if she adhered to the rule that eating is done mostly with mouths. She found it deeply unsettling to put her food so close to where her eyes were, but well, whom were she to judge the customs. Trying to find the most comfortable position, she curled her legs close to her, pulling her entire form onto the couch as the laptop bag slid down her side, right next to her. Her head slid up Keya's tail, resting it against his cheek. She turned in her seat to face Ruben, eyeing him for a couple of seconds as she chased some loose thoughts in her head, before taking another bite of the cake, for a moment giving it her complete and undivided attention, then smiling widely. "Mmmm... So good!" She exclaimed, her gaze once again focused back on Ruben. "So what have you been doing around here without your best buddies, Rubes?" She asked, in tone of both curiosity and a certain playfulness. "You know I'm always down to slam 'round some bars with you!" Her voice carried no accusation or malice, just some good-hearted inquisitiveness and assurance.
