Coco shakes her head quickly as she stutters out, “n-n—nnnno Miss Thompson“ as she shuffles her feet before replying, “I apologize Miss Thompson... I-I -I just wanted your opinion on an informal style or brand that might work for us... sorry for troubling you“ as she looks down at the ground after giving her explanation. Millie bows as she replies politely, “I was simply nudging my sister to snap her out of her happy daze to thank you Lady Thompson. i understand that the clothing choice is up to us as long is it is informal“ as she straightens up and continues, “I hope whatever we pick for informal clothing is to your liking Lady Thompson“ as quietly places the check into her small coin purse as her hand shakes slightly.

Millie and Coco both stare at the checks in shock as they barely register the complete statement made by Monika before Millie squeaks out a politely, while bowing, “Thank you Lady Thompson“ as she registers the part about helping serve dinner, “we will be sure to be ready for service at dinner time“ as she nudges her sister. Coco shakes her head as she exclaims out, “Huh what Millie... oh right“ as she bows to Monika and in her normal cheerful excited tone, “Yes thank you Miss Thompson“ before she stands back up straight. She ponders for a moment before asking, “Is there anything Miss Thompson would like us to acquire to wear?“ as she tilts her head slightly to the side giggling slightly with her sister at the shopping spree awarded to them.

Maxwell watches idle at the front of the classroom as the groups go through quiet introduction and allows a small bit of time to pace before he calls out, “Alright class, now that you have gotten to know your partner for the year a little better and have had the chance to introduce yourselves. We will get started on making the first recipe for today’s class” as he claps his hands together pointing at an variety of different ingredients. He smiles brightly and he exclaims, “The biggest thing when using fresh fruits and vegetables in a recipe is to make sure to wash them with warm water to remove any dirt or bacteria” as he goes through cleaning the water at the sink on the station. He also continues on saying, “Also make sure that you wash and dry your hands well before starting to prepare your ingredients” as he meticulously cleans his hands.

Coco skips happily behind Monika as she hums happily at having a room to herself as she chimes in a polite tone, “It’s beautiful Miss Thompson, thank you“ as she flutters around the room looking at the decor. Millie wordlessly follows after the pair as she responds with a soft and polite, “Sorry I understand Lady Thompson“ as she takes one look at her sister in the other room before leaning through the door that leads to her room to inspect it. She responds with a soft, “It looks lovely Lady Thompson“ as she looks back at Monika.

Coco and Millie both get hopefully looks in their eyes with a small twinkle of happiness at having their own room as they both nod their head excitedly, “Yes Please Lady/Miss Thompson“ as they parrot out at the same time. Millie politely continuous a but nervously, “Ummm Lady Thompson... will we be rooming together or in different rooms“ as she shifts nervously and squeezes her sister’s hand as she asks her question. Coco appears lost in thought about imagining how the room looks as she stares off into space.

Coco smiles and lets out a happy playful giggle as she bounces to her feet taking the empty cup, which she bows to Monika, “Thank you, Miss Monika“ as she walks back over to place the tray and cup on the beverage cup. Millie bows as she replies, “I will strive to do better under you employment, Lady Thompson“ as she straightens back up and waits for Coco to come back over after replacing the beverage cart back in its respective place in the corner of the room. Coco returns standing next to her sister as they both look at Monika and ask, “Will there be any other training or changes to go through?“

Millie nods stiffly as she listens to the comments about the tea needing to be brewed a little long as she mentally berates herself as she says politely, "Yes Lady Thompson" as she quickly grabs the tea tray and items scurrying away to put them on the beverage cart in the dirty dish bin. Coco waits until after she has seen Millie take the items away and finish her discussion with Monika, she lightly bounces over the beverage cart as she hums a happy tune made up in her head. She grabs the hot water in the kettle to check there is enough and it is set to the right temperature, which after being satisfied with the results she sets them down. She pulls out a ceramic box with mat in the center that she sets a ceramic tea cup, which she lightly pours some hot water over the tea cup and the saucer to heat them up along with washing them. She gentle sets the tea cup onto the saucer as she cleans the teapot with the hot water as well, which after cleansing the teapot she grabs a small scale setting it next to the teapot. She carefully opens an elegant silver tin lid and breaks a secondary seal under the cover to reveal a fine vibrant green powder. She carefully spoons out a couple spoonful of the green matcha tea powder into a bowl before she gentle pours in the hot water over the powder and begins to whisk the mixture until all the powder has been dissolved with the use of a bamboo whisk. Once the bowl has been whisked and completely stirred together, she gently lifts the bowl and pours the green tea into the cup. She smiles softly to herself as she is satisfied with cup of tea before placing the cup on a serving plate that she carries over to Monika before kneeling down at the small table in front of Monika across from her and bows setting the cup of tea down on a saucer, "A cup of green Matcha Tea for you Lady Thompson prepared in the traditional manner without sugar or cream, which I can get for you if this isn't to your liking" as she finishes stating this she straightens up still kneeling holding the empty tray against her chest. Millie quietly stands behind the tea cart as she watches her sister and Monika as she turns off the tea kettle to not overheat the water any further.

Millie nods her head in understanding as she retracts the bags in her hand as she replies, “Yes Lady Thompson“ as she sets the herbal bags of tea down before turning on the electric kettle to boil the water necessary for the cup of tea. She quietly and methodically rinses the cup of tea and the teapot with water as it drains on a tea mat to prevent any mess from the water. She proceeds to place the tea bag into the teapot as the kettle begins to whistle lightly and gentle pours hot water into the tea kettle. After waiting a few minutes for the tea to boil, she gentle makes a show of pouring the hot rose hip tea out into the cup. She gentle places the cup on a serving tray with a serving dish that contains cream and sugar cubes. She gentle picks up the tea serving try as she curtsies holding out the rose hip tea and states politely, “Here is your hot rose hip tea with the left container holding creamer and the right container holding Sugar cubes” as Coco watches her sister to let her go first before taking her turn to serve and make a cup of tea.

Maxwell watches the class talk amongst themselves as the others beside the countess and hellhound scurry around to find a partner. He chuckles silently too himself as he spots the countess put her slightly raised arm down as he idle writes down the names for the other groups as he hands out the recipe and the mini apple pies to the other students. Once he has completed handing out the recipe and the pies to the other students, he walks over to Bella and Hellhound as he places the “simple” recipe down with the apple pie. He replies, “I will let you all converse to get to know one another and ask any questions regarding the recipe instructions“ as he walks back up to the front before continuing, “I will show you once how to complete each step and will be available afterwards to answer any questions as you make the pie at your station“ as he watches the class, while slowly pulling out a small amount of ingredients listed on the recipe. Millie looks at the cart seeing a variety of different teas laid out in little pouches, she replies with a polite yet chipper respectful tone, “I like a more floral smell like to rose hip or hibiscus, ma’am“ as she holds out the bags for her to Monika as she continues, “it pairs wonderfully with the sweet taste of honey when hot“ as she looks at Monika. Coco continues as she holds out two different bags of green tea and black tea, “I prefer the black or green tea as they can be drunk plain or with cream and sugar. Able to be made hot or cold as well, ma’am“ as she looks at Monika as well. Millie chimes in at the end, “Most people not familiar with different kinds of tea will go with black tea and add cream n sugar as needed, ma’am“ as they wait patiently for Monika to decide.

Millie gives a small demure smile as she says, “thank you for your kind worries Lady Thompson“ as she looks around the room for the tea kettle. Coco adopts a bubble smile as she brims with happiness, “thank you Miss Thompson“ as she spots the tea cart in the back left corner of the room out of the way. She shakes Millie’s sleeve of her blouse as she motions to the cart with a tilt of her head, while turning back to Monika, “Would you like a cup of tea ma’am?“ as Millie walks over to beverage cart. She continues, “We can brew a pot of tea or Iced tea if you would like, ma’am?“ and motions to the beverage cart once Millie stops nearby them. Millie politely waits for Coco to finish before chiming looking directly at Monika, “Or we can see about something else to drink if tea isn’t to your fancy, ma’am?“

Maxwell chuckles as he hears Bella’s question as he replies, “that is a great question that leads into history but can be tied to cooking by way of food and drinks“ as he pulls up a a couple of ingredients being a fine white powder sugar and red box of tea. He continues by pointing to the two different items, “the Americans had to pay taxes to the British for imported tea and sugar along with other items, which combined with the distance of the Atlantic Ocean caused discontent to brew more easily and the colonists wanted independence“ as he looks at the group. After a brief pause, he continues, “Now why don’t you all find a partner for your first cooking assignment for a classic dish from back in colonial times of America - Apple Pie“ as he reaches down behind counter pulling out a try of mini Apple pies and a stack of papers. His final statement before he watches the students as he sets the tray down, “Once you have found your partner one of you come up to grab a pie and a copy of the recipe for me to write down the pairings, which you will be working with them for the year“ as he flashes a kind smile with a notepad in hand before he adds, “Why don’t I start of the pairing with.... hmmmm Bella and hellhound“ as he points at both girls, “you shall be a pair“ as he motions them forward. @Seraphina

Well if she did join, she could be paired with bella. I can certainly have the students paired off into cooking pairs. I am simple introducing the measuring units used in cooking and was going to short introduce a recipe for the “class” to try. If jenny is ok with it I don’t have an issue with you joining and that is only if your comfortable with it. I was simple making a suggestion

Millie nods her head in understanding as she replies, “Yes Lady Monika“ as she stands up looking at her before pressing down on her apron to remove the creases from sitting. Coco mimics her sister with a bubbly step in her actions as she replies, “Yes Miss Thompson“ as they both quickly walk over to either side of Monika and bow slightly before they both straighten back up with hands clasped in front of them. Millie looks directly at Monika as she makes a conscious effort to make eye contact, she asks politely in a reserved tone, “Hello my name is Millie, ma’am“ as Coco follows with her same polite bubbly tone, “And my name is Coco. We welcome you to Miss Thompson’s estate“ after a brief pause Millie continues, “May we get you anything to eat or drink“ as Coco chimes in, “or be of service, while you wait for Miss Thompson?“

Maxwell ponders how to answer the question as he turns in her direction as he replies, “Good question Miss Bella and the biggest thing is because Americans don’t want to change an ingrained system that has been used since the 1800s” as he posts a few dates on the board. As he continues, “The Imperial system was founded by England in 1824 before we rebelled and fought a Civil War. Although parts of the measuring system like the unit of a mile goes back to the ancient Roman time period in the 1500s, which the biggest reason I believe that we Americans haven’t taken the time to change is due to the time and money it would take for our businesses/government to convert” as he finishes his comment, he looks to see if anyone has anything to add or new questions.

Coco's exuberant attitude simmers down slightly as she nods her head in understand as she replies, "Yes Miss Thompson.... I understand" as she stops looking around the room turning her attention fully on Monika as she sits down on the couch before quietly moving to sit down on the couch across from Monika with her legs slightly crossed at an angle. Millie quietly follows her sister to sit down next to her as she puts effort into speaking up and looking directly at Monika remembering the previous conversation about her shy nature and replies, "As you wish Lady Thompson" as she settles down next her sit sitting in the same manner with her legs crossed.

Seeing no questions or hands raised from the class as the last of the items are handed out, he resumes instructing the class, "The biggest thing that you will first learn is how to follow the recipes and the different units of measure, which the two system are metric and Imperial" as he puts an image up on screen showing the two different systems. He continues by saying, "We will be using the metric system for our measurements when cooking as they are already printed as such in the book, which I have listed the conversion rate for imperial to metric for an example of what will be on the midterm exam. Make sure to take good notes as your exam will be open book for any tables I give you" as he goes through the different measurements as he explains, "When cooking it is important to measure you ingredients as too much of one thing can cause something to be offensive to the taste. These tastes are: bitter, sweet, sour, spicy, salt, cold and umami or meaty that are used to compose the taste of your dish in a combination" as he pauses to look out over the class to see if there are any questions.

Maxwell stands up setting the white box with silver letting down on the counter as he sees the majority of the class having found their seats. He coughs out slightly to get the rest of their attention to the front room and begins to say, "Greetings class and welcome to Cooking 101. I am Professor Maxwell Winsor and I will be your instructor for this class into the culinary world of food n beverages" as he pauses to walk around the front of the desk picking up the stack of papers that contained the syllabus and the stack of textbooks. He continues speaking as he states, "In this text book and syllabus that is being passed around you will find out what I plan to teach you and how, which will mostly be practical hands on learning" as he smiles at the group. He continues stating with serious tone, "I don't expect you all to be master chefs, but I do expect you to try your hardest on the assignments I give you. Any questions before I start the lesson?"

Millie jumps at the sudden opening of the door as she quickly stands up nearly falling over as she bows to Monika as she quickly replies, "Oh um thank you Lady Monika, it is a lovely house and I was enjoying the view" as she blushes at almost falling over. Coco skips over to them after having heard the door open and catching her sister talking to someone, which she smiles brightly up at Monika and replies, "Thank you for taking care of the mean old man and its lovely to see you too" as she stops standing next to her sister as she resumes humming a tune looking around the room. Song being hummed by Coco

[new scene - cooking class] Maxwell briskly entered the empty classroom as he sets his worn brown leather briefcase on the top of the wooden desk before he turned around and began to write on the chalkboard in elegant handwriting it appeared on the far right screen, “Professor Winsor - Cooking 101“ before he places the piece of chalk back on the metal ledge under the chalkboard. He spins around and sits in the chair stationed behind the desk at the front of the classroom, while he begins to layout a stack of papers that read, “Curriculum - Cooking 101“ and a cream colored book that reads, “Introduction to Culinary Arts“ before he leans back tapping a white box wrapped in cellophane as he watches the door for the first student to arrive. @JennyDK
