  1. I am a doofus, I could have moved Dalton and Evi inside to get the drinks from the bar officially and engaged Maray all at the same time. x_x Well, frag it, on my next post I'll see about moving them into that thread so we can stop blowing up the lounge. >.>
  2. "Hmhm, I like your drive... But still, don't push yourself any more than you need to. Just because this is a Night Club doesn't mean you need to go the distance and try to absorb the night life. Some people like to throw themselves into the deep end, and rarely do they come out the same. You have cute, innocent catgirl energy, you should hold onto it." Dalton reached up to rub the side of his head, before he glanced at Evi. "You probably get this cliche a lot, but try and remember what happened to the cat when curiosity was concerned." 'Ough, come on Dalton, are you trying to be her date or her dad? Pick one.' 'Why am I stuck with you again?' 'You were nice enough to not scrub your tech of me? Also, I DID help you get a job...' 'I'm still not convinced that's healthy for me in the long run, especially with how they like to poke their noses around weird crap that might get traced back to big name corporations.' 'Nothing in this city is healthy, buddy... But at least it's exciting. Besides, you have to be a little curious how some of the cases we work happen to be connected to names and affiliations you wouldn't expect.' '...' He took a deep breath, silently cursing inwardly at how easily he got sidetracked with his mental conversations that he often must have looked like he was staring blankly to anyone nearby him. In this case, he had to hope Evi didn't see anything too strange about how it seemed to take him a few moments longer than normal to process her remark about not bleeding him dry for drinks, to which he casually waved it off. "It isn't a huge concern if you do, you know. I just want to make sure you don't think I'm one of those skeevy sorts who'll try to slip you some unpleasant drinks to do God knows what." Given she was here though... There was no telling if SHE was someone who could do that. That would have been one hell of a twist, wouldn't it? Be a cute girl to sucker a guy for drinks, and slip him something to take advantage of him- 'Oh, you mean like your saved copy of 'Queen of the Night, Edition 3-' 'GODDAMNIT, you nosy little networm!' He raised a hand to pinch his brows, feeling it more like a curse more than anything that he had to deal with this... This couldn't even be a program anymore, he had to be some sort of creature, some abberant AI that grew too smart for its own good and now had to hide out. But whatever mystery he posed, it was not his concern right now as Evi gave him the go ahead to guide her to where he wished to hang out. The public spaces would work for now, then... If she showed signs of displeasure from the loud noises, he could bring her to the upstairs bar. Nevermind the fact he felt like they were getting in the way of the other couple that was near them. At least that guy looked like a success story, the girl seemed like trouble... But then, a place like this welcomed trouble, didn't it? The Lounge was a good place to chill when you first came in, it felt like. It gave everyone else time to figure out where they wanted to sit, so you could decide how far away from them you wanted to sit. And with staff waiting to take your orders for drinks from the bar, it made it much easier to carry on a conversation. Waving down staff to order a pair of Cobalt Velvets, he turned his attention to Evi, waving his head side to side as he could hear the music not too far off. "So, first time in here, probably doesn't feel like much to you yet, I bet. But it did just open, and that's usually how they like to get you... Start slow, work the way up to something more energetic and alluring, and before long the sweet innocence takes a back seat to audacity and excitement. So, before that happens... Why don't we get to a bit of an exchange? A nightly meeting like this means more to me when I know who I'm engaging with... Without getting into too much personal business, I'm a student part-timing with the intent to hit on some good business in higher level corporate circles. Mostly keen on doing some programming work, computer wiz nonsense, you know how us boys like to get with toys." He remarked like he was legitimately limping himself in with people like that. If one thought about it, ideas like that were probably a dime a dozen, and yet they still meant as much to those people as bigger dreams did to their owners. "Of course... Life rarely goes that simply. I wound up getting into something entirely different, maybe a bit too far over my head. Although I doubt that's as interesting as what I imagine the story is behind your mods. So if you don't mind my asking... How did you get those? Seriously, I'm kind of tempted to go for a tail too..."
  3. "Careful if you do. It tends to be on the rocks, so it might hit you hard if you're not familiar with it." Dalton quickly spoke up when Evi professed interest in trying it. She was new to this club, but he didn't know if she was new to the club scene in general or not... Maybe she had experience with drinks, but if she didn't, he felt a concern that someone would think he was trying to Date-Rape her if they saw her drinking something like that near him. "Usually three is my self-imposed limit so I can walk out of here properly instead of wobbling around like I've got jelly for legs. If you want, I can order one for each, and if you start feeling a little overwhelmed, I'll drink yours and get you something less likely to kick your tail." He half expected her to brush him off without a second thought, but to his surprise she seemed to accept the movement! He peeked through unruly bangs at her as she passed... And perhaps as expected, his eyes most certainly did wander down. Even though her choice of fashion would limit what he could see, it was most obviously on display that drew his gaze. It was everything he hoped to see, luxurious fur slowly swaying in her wake. He had the sense of respect to avoid reaching out to touch it and see if the fur was real, but just the sight alone invigorated him. He breathed a content sigh, looking upright at the heavens. 'There is a god... And they gave us catgirls. Truly, this is a good world.' 'Is that why you have a folder of various animal girls and boys hidden in your cloud space?' 'Damn it, I forget you're still here. Also, what the hell are you doing poking around my private spaces?! You live in my head but that doesn't mean you get access to my stuff! ... Wait, what do you mean animal boys? I only saved pictures of girls.' 'I can tell you some of those are most definitely not girls, no matter how close to them they look. Hey, I'm not judging.' '... Goddammit. I'll fix it later. Until then, behave yourself Graf.' 'Touch fluffy tail-' 'NO.' He exhaled quietly, feeling like he was going to need to entertain the peanut gallery all night while he enjoyed watching girls, but the surprise came as he heard Evi say two words that nearly made him trip and stumble before he caught himself. "Oh, you... Uh, want to sit with me? I thought you were just gonna sit by yourself or something... I never had company this early into a night, heh. But if you don't mind, then sure. Fair warning though, I might be a bit too boring of a guy for you, but at least I'll pay for your drinks." He scratched lightly at the back of his head as he followed Evi, before he looked back to the others with a glance. At first it was probably a coincidence that they were probably talking about others in line, but after a bit it felt almost like the two of them were commenting on him and Evi... Or maybe that was just natural paranoia in him as someone who wanted to just be seen as average and uninteresting. "First drinks, then a good seat at the Dance Floor. I'll normally get a spot near the stages for the best view, but I also usually sit alone for that. Would be awkward to slip some cash toward dancers while I have company... Oh, wait, I should ask. Your ears, uh... Are you sensitive to loud noises? If so, there's another section of the club where the music is less offensive... Even offers food if you get hungry, and is probably one of the quietest places in the Garden."
  4. With my weekend friend and family activities done and the work week begun a new, time for me to get back into posting things. :3 EDIT: Also, yes, I did borrow a drink from VA-11 Hall-A for my last post. : p
  5. Hm... She didn't seem like the overly chatty sort. Not that he could blame her either, he DID just solicit her for interaction out of nowhere. He was aware of Graf snickering in the back of his mind like he enjoyed watching Dalton try to find a way to tread ground with this one. It would have been easier for him if he waited until he got inside and solicited one of the more active girls for some attention, but no... He had to pick 'Hard Mode' and try to strike a conversation with someone on the line... Who probably just wanted to get inside and go somewhere quiet. 'This will teach you to just wait until you get inside to try talking to people...' ... Mercifully, however, the small catgirl managed to surprise him by giving her name... Not much else, but even her name was a very good start. He raised a hand to his chin, casting his eyes up as he pondered if he should know the name... Maybe he could have tried giving the name a search, but it sounded so short and unassuming that he felt if he did search it, he was probably going to turn up like 500+ search results and none of them would have told him anything relevant. Besides, doong that might inadvertently open her data up to being probed by unwanted hackers. He wouldn't like it, and so he had to assume she definitely wouldn't. Best to leave her with her privacy. "Nice name. Short, simple, and to the point." Dalton remarked, folding his arms as he contemplated her next question. Recommendations were a tricky thing, because he was more simple, not the sort to drink something exotic or wild and risk becoming a total fool. At the same time, perhaps it wasn't just drinks she was talking about. Best to tackle her question from a more broad view... "Usually when I come here, I just tend to get a seat near where I can watch the ladies dance and strut their stuff, to be honest. Usually I'll be sipping on a Cobalt Velvet to start my night, rather good taste if I do say so myself." Although he couldn't tell if he should have been suggesting it to her, maybe she had her own taste preferences... The line they stood on grew more animated, and before long, it seemed Johnny had showed up to help get the line moving. "Heck of a job, eh Johnny? Least it lets you see who are the good freaks and who are the bad ones. Take care of yourself now." He gave a nod to the bouncer, before he looked back to Evi. "Looks like that's our cue to mosey on in... Ladies first?" He stepped to the side, clearing the way for her to enter.
  6. Time for Dalton to test his luck with holding a decent conversation before he gets indoors. I figure on my next post, I'll try and get him indoors. : ) If someone named Johnny is really watching the front, I'll have him mentioned at the time too, Lero. ^^ But for now, sleep beckons to me. Good night everyone!
  7. The line was certainly moving along, a slow process to make sure that not just anyone was let in. A city like this has more than one way to fake an ID, and those vetting patrons needed to make sure fast ones weren't being pulled in them. Dalton was, mercifully, not someone who needed to forge credentials to get into a place like this... Especially given it wasn't his first rodeo here either. All the same, however, it certainly felt like there were a few faces he hadn't quite encountered at the Garden... Most notably, he looked behind himself as he felt a preaence approach, natural curiosity taking his attention to make sure he wasn't caufht by surprise. He was, however, but thankfully not in a bad way. His brows rose as he saw... Wiggling ears atop a small womans head? Wait, a tail too...? 'Cyberspace to Vandal, you're looking a little too hard a little too long there, buddy.' He shook his head slightly, regaining his focus before he cleared his throat and faced forward. "Man, mods really have been improving. Here I thought I was coming a long way with getting things added within, but... Never thought people would make the Cat Girl dream a reality." Dalton remarked, the line moving forward a little bit more, before he stepped forward. "I've been here a few times, but don't think I've ever seen anyone like you... First time?" He tilted his head up and looked back a bit toward the cat girl who was more than likely minding her business before this total creeper started tslking to her. 'Psst, Vandal. Vandal. Vaaaaaandaaaa-' 'I can hear you just fine, Graf! What is it?' 'Stsrt by giving her your name. Maybe she'll be more likely to say something besides 'Don't talk to me, you weirdo' or something.' '... Are you... Trying to give me advice?' 'I don't like to see you fail ALL the time. After all, I have to live with you too, and I don't live with failure.' 'One of these days, I'm going to debug you right out of my consciousness.' 'Nah, you don't mean that. Right? ... Right? ... Hey, Vandal, do you-' Dalton cleared his throat as he tried to brush aside the back-and-forth going on in his head. Conversations like that were far too common for him, and more often than not when they happened, he often looked like he was staring into space while conversing with the sentient data anomaly that lived with him. It was almost like a sibling... That lived rent-free in his head. Quite literally, even! "It, uh, just occured to me I should have introduced myself first... The name is Dalton, it's nice to meet you."
  8. It's appreciated, but ill forge ahead as I am, thank you though. : ) And oof, get your rest as soon as you can, Satai. x_x I'll be off soon for rest myself.
  9. It isn't needed for me, but thank you. : p If there's one thing I've learned, it's that if something feels like it'll take too long to do, I'll almost always find some way to weasel out of it and move on with things.
  10. I'll follow up now, and say Dalton has now arrived outside. : p Although it's also late here so I'll need to be turning in for the night now. Good night, everyone, and have fun planning out your intros! ^^
  11. 'You usually come here all the time, Vandal. Why don't you go to other places in the city?' 'There's a lull in work right now, why shouldn't I take the time to swing by and relax a bit? Besides, this place has plenty of what I need.' 'For starters, you could probably take the chance to go to a gym, you almost got us killed last time.' 'That guy was like five hundred pounds at least, did you expect him to crumple like a muffin?' 'I expect you to avoid getting us flattened!' 'You complain too much, Faker had our back. Anyway, don't ruin my evening.' 'You mean OUR evening.' 'Whatever you say, Comrade Complainalot.' === Another day in the life of Dalton, the blue-haired male thought with a semblance of exhaustion as he seated himself on a bench outside the Garden of Hedonism. Places like this existed for people like him, who needed every chance they could get to relax from their otherwise long, boring, or dangerous daily lives. He raised his hand, bringing the sandwich to his mouth to eat as he watched others approach the establishment. Even just observing others have small insights into how they must have acted in their daily lives. Maybe he had missed a few while waiting out here, but some at least looked noteworthy to his eyes: A woman who looked like she might have been a troublemaker... Or making a statement with her attire. Watching her lean against a wall rather than wait in line with people gave him the impression she liked to be a rebel. The city was full of those types after all. Another came in a car that looked ripe for getting boosted, whoever owned it definitely knew how to care for their automobiles. A place like this was no place for a car like that, though, anyone looking to get in would have probably stripped a car like that for parts to sell off just for the scratch to afford the amenities inside. However, this wasn't about the car but the guy that stepped out of the back: Sharply dressed, he had to admit, it reminded him of the suits he and the others wore when they were in duty. They were often called Spooks for it too, dressed like fictitious agents in dark attire with no other names. Calling them Spooks may not have been too far off of the market, considering the kind of trouble they usually dealt with from cyberspace. People often got creative with taking their technology to the next level... Either way, this man was well-dressed, likely either came from money, or built himself up from it. He almost looked like he could have been a politician, but the lack of security detail surrounding him quickly shot that notion down- 'You know, I could always try to worm my way into that guys devices...' '-Just because you're a sentient virus doesn't mean you need to act like one, Graf. Besides, we're here to relax, not go probing and poking devices for anything suspicious.' 'What if he was here to cause trouble?' 'Then he's got a lot more than me to worry about here. Don't be paranoid, everyone is here to enjoy themselves, nothing more.' Standing upright once he was done eating, he stretched and made his way toward the night club's entrance. If he sat outside here too long staring at the entrance, he might look creepier than he intended to. He tried to brush some of the hair away from his other eye so he could get a better look at his surroundings, make sure no one else was standing in any perceived blind spots. He might not have looked like it, but the city's night life rather agreed with him. He may not have looked like he enjoyed it much, but it brought excitement to his life, whether it was simply enjoying food food and drinks with the raucous atmosphere inside, or being assigned cases by the Head Honcho to assist law enforcement. It was certainly better than trying to get himself involved in his parents shaky lives... Or, well, parent. His father was on his third attempt now, and Dalton was sure it wouldn't stop there. But as long as he was here, he didn't need to care. "Places like this really make you feel like you can be someone... No matter how insignificant you really might be." He mumbled to himself quietly.
  12. Goddamn, if there was anything that would make me want to add males/femboys to the list of chars Dalton would not mind interacting with, it would be that char, Totes. xD Welcome to the club, and enjoy your stay! :3
  13. Yay! I remember she looked cute but also got intrigued with her backstory, especially after I made Dalton as someone who worked alongside law enforcement. It's gonna be fun to see how long it takes him to figure out who or what she is, and if he's managed to hear about the incident in any capacity. ^^ I do know you're much more adept at picking up android-style characters even with the limited interactions we've had over time, and given Cyberpunk is what it is, androids or anything robotic should be totally fair game! Heck, we already have one idea like that ar the very least, so you're welcome to bring more. Mighty kind of you, thanks. : ) For now I think I'm good for now, I know what influences I'm aiming for!
  14. Doing some quick catch-up reading while I can, glad to see a lot of what's here works so far. ^^ And sounds like any changes or alterations people need or want to make should be cool beans as well. As things go on, I'll contemplate what to do about a second character if I'm struck by the desire, but for now I'm quite content with my one char atm.
  15. They do look like a lot of fun though for a majority of the others. : ) The different units all have a bunch of very appealing forms, and I see a race to see which of the ladies can lay them all first. xD
  16. And finally got that goober up. Since he didn't really feel as overactive and outgoing as some of my other guys, I kept him a bit more subdued as far as his lewd activities go. ^^;
  17. Name: Dalton Vanfield Age: 23 Is a: Human Male Seeking: Females Characteristics: Dalton stands at a fair 5’8, with a head of somewhat messy blue hair. Often times it will cover one of his eyes despite his best efforts to maintain it, but he doesn't deny it gives him a look he enjoys. Despite these aspects, he otherwise feels and comes off as unremarkable right down to his physical qualities, which are markedly average at best. If anything, he does his best to do the bare minimum to be functional at what he does, preferring to leave standing out to others around him. His true qualities are hidden beneath the surface, figuratively and literally, as he has a suite of various cybernetic modifications hidden in his body, focused in his eyes, back, hands and arms, that enable him to interact with cyberspace as if he were never away from a computer. This also enables him to remain in contact with his ally, a sentient data virus that has taken to using him as a hideout while it eludes capture from external forces. Together, the two form a functioning duo for their work endeavors when Dalton isn't hanging out at night clubs. General Info: Publicly accessible records show Dalton is the son of a corporate worker and his latest mistress after two prior failed marriages, with the boy keeping a functionally healthy distance from his parents for his own good. He attends a local college and studies various computer engineering and electronics courses hoping to secure a comfortable job in cyber security for a big-named, or even upcoming, corporation. In truth, Dalton’s true work calling was inadvertently chosen for him the day he became a housing unit for an cyberspace entity named Graf, claiming to be from the ‘World of Data’. From there, one confusing turn after another was visited upon him when an older gentleman announcing himself as law enforcement came to pick up Dalton, and after a few misunderstandings and physical altercations, revealed he worked as a special counsel in a division dedicated to assisting local law enforcement with crime resolution regarding ‘unusual circumstances’... And much like Dalton, he and several others that worked there were all (witting or otherwise) carriers of entities that emerged from cyberspace. Now, Dalton works unofficially for the Cyberphase Task Force under the alias ‘Code: Vandal’, using the selfsame skills he intended to use to serve his own ends to assist in cases beyond police understanding, all the while slowly trying to understand what Graf and the other entities from cyberspace were doing in their world, and how it connects to some of the most infamous corporations he intended to work for… Due to the scope of his endeavors, he often takes time off, especially around the evenings to go enjoy the city life and unwind a bit before work calls him away again, with the Garden of Hedonism being one of his favored haunts. Favorites: Dalton considers himself rather simple when it comes to tastes, enjoying watching beautiful ladies dance, no matter how many or how little in the way of clothes they wear. When it comes to more physical aspects, he enjoys flirting and cuddling as both an opening act and a closer upon concluding an encounter, feeling a woman up and praising her form as much as she would be willing to allow. If allowed to push further, one would find he takes great joy in giving oral acts to willing ladies and playing games of exchanging power dynamics. Anything else is either a bonus or a learning experience for him beyond these above things. Consent: Assumed === Extra notes: I should make it clear that despite the vast majority of the nonsense I wrote here, I don't mind adjusting it to make the character more acceptable. : ) Furthermore, the presence of the chatty AI is purely for character flavoring for Dalton to quip with internally, akin to Eddie and Venom in the Venom movies. : p Except his AI can't turn him into a badass with a massive schlonger like his art usually depicts him. <.< But yes, I do not plan for it to be a disruptive presence in any capacity!
  18. Game night with others kept me away a lot longer than I planned to be. >.< I'll catch up on reading and see what I missed when I wasn't just passing out reactions to posts!
  19. Ahhh, I see now. Although I didn't really see or spin it as a supernatural thing, I suppose that does count as a strike against anything less than human. :c Dammit.
  20. I wouldn't really dismiss it out of hand? I mean, it's the future, and some people like to rebel against norms. Who's to say there wasn't a means out there to drastically alter ones physiology to be something less human and more humanoid? Could be genetic splicing, a new mod or something that hits the streets, a whole new synthetic form. Someone maybe didn't stop at seeing Cat/Dog/Fox/ect people and decided to go all-in on the furry aesthetic, and maybe they became a trendsetter for others to follow suite however possible. Even in that Otherscape game I looked into, genetic splicing seemed to one of the biggest contributors to seeing a person become something much closer to a furry. Can even roll several concepts into one, I do not think the game is expecting you to follow through on some epic story, it's more a backdrop to the character you bring here. :3
  21. My biggest debate is whether I want to make a guy who's only interested in girls, or if I want to play one that won't mind androgynous/femboy types. >.>
  22. I like the sound of that! :3
  23. Good on you all trying to keep things going, I get pretty demoralized when leadership fades in a game, because then it's just on life support at that point until everyone bounces. x_x For now, this being the weekend, I'll probably be busy with friends and family most of the day, but if I can finish my guy for the game, I'll post him up later, and then see what I want to do with a second char slot if possible.
  24. I'm all for seeing staff characters in the mix with other patrons, they need some fun too. : p All work and no play, and all that. Also, having peeked into Hotel California early on, noticing the game ground to a halt is definitely one more reason to have one or more people in management to keep things running incase someone needs to step away, so I'm going to agree with Dreams and inky on those notions.
  25. Well... Between a couple of familiar names, and the fact I've been pulled into playing around with a system RPG called Otherscape off-site, itself having a huge Cyberpunk focus, I started trying to think about what sort of character I could make for something like this. x.x
