Background: Kazumasa was born on the Island of Amami. He was the son of a prostitute, and was cast away at a very early age, he doesnt have much recollection of that time. But pain and tears are prevalent in whatever he can muster. From age 3-9 he spent on the streets of Naze. Begging and scrounging whatever he could to survive. Until he was old enough to learn to steal, he began to follow and hang around young aspiring Yakuza members. Learning to fight, steal, and kill.

Years later he became a prominent aggressor in the Nobunagi Yakuza. He spend his teens, and early 20s mastering the sword and helping the Yakuza become one of the biggest crime syndicates in all of the Ryukyu islands. However, when he was 24 the Yakuza was massacred. All of their enemies waged war against them, from shogunate forces, rival gangs, and local militias. Kazumasa was able to escape to the mainland, but not without a huge bounty on his head, and many battle scars.

The life he once has was destroyed in front of his eyes. And instead of dying with his brothers in arms he ran like a coward. Now he wanders the roads of Japan, aimless and listless. Evading bounty hunters and polices alike. Now the roads leading into and out of kyoto have been rumored to be unsafe. Trading caravans and wealthy travelers have been founded ravaged and robbed like prey, their skilled guards and samurai slaughter. The commoners say a malicious spirit torments travelers on said roads, calling it “the night haunter, Yoru no yūrei”
