Nikki is a former high-school cheerleader with a résumé that reads like a series of increasingly unlikely accidents, she has worked as a maid, home health aide, corporate intern, stripper, police recruit, escort, construction worker, hairdresser, drug dealer, circus performer, ringmaster, and prison inmate. Now employed as a lab assistant to an eccentric scientist, she frequently serves as the test subject for his inventions, most notably a skill-upload system that has temporarily qualified her to work as an airline pilot, cruise ship captain, and race car driver. His latest invention, a time machine, has sent her hurtling through history on missions whose true purpose remains unclear.
Despite being genuinely intelligent and surprisingly adaptable, she comes across as cheerful, scatterbrained, and hopelessly literal. Sarcasm, innuendo, and obvious double meanings sail straight past her, while her remarkable beauty and terrible luck regularly leave her tangled in embarrassing, compromising, and suspiciously revealing situations. She's as likely to accidentally flash you as she is to actually perform the function she's attempting.
