Really I think what it boils down to @Kitsuyumia is we just need a sense of scale here. Were these ARKs able to house an entire planet worth of people? Even 10% of the population? Most science fiction depictions of earth show that with the help of mega cities and space faring technology... you could easily imagine the human race reaching 20 Billion or more... with possibly half of that being on Earth and the rest divided throughout the alliance. So if you build an ARK ship on Earth, could it fit 10 Billion Humans+ all the alien species of the alliance? This was why I suggested the cryofreezing for certain crew and colonist
