She didn't want to believe it about the man, but she could distinctly remember a middle-school teacher telling her that trying to teach her had turned him into an alcoholic. "That's right!   4. During the ceremony she had noticed some more of his discontentment, or maybe it was confusion as he seemed to be expecting something else. People, big small and mystical all put on faces depending on who they spoke to.
