So the concept is simple, Steam power and high fantasy to give a sort of Medieval Steampunk vibe.
Premise: Two rivals on an engineer the other a mage must team up to pilot a copper-powered airship through a storm-tossed Intercontinental race. Sabotage, runaway magical winds, and mechanical failures threaten both their lives and the price.
Starter: The old workshop smelled of oil, copper, and old parchment. Sparks danced lazily from the tools strewn across the benches, but the atmosphere was heavy with expectation. At the center of the room, their mentor—graying, sharp-eyed, and always a step ahead—cleared his throat.
“You two,” he began, letting the words hang like storm clouds, “have been rivals for longer than I care to remember. Your squabbles have wasted more copper and time than I care to tally.” He paused, letting the sting sink in. “But the time for rivalry is over.”
He gestured toward a map pinned to the wall, crisscrossed with the routes of the upcoming Intercontinental Airship Race. “This year’s course isn’t just long—it’s lethal. Storms that would shred lesser ships, magical winds that obey no logic, and mechanical failures that will test every ounce of your skill. And there are others who will stop at nothing to win. Sabotage is expected. Survival isn’t guaranteed.”
He fixed them with a steady gaze. “The only way either of you makes it through alive, let alone victorious, is together. You will pilot the (Insert Airship name) as one. Your training, your talent, your stubbornness, they’ll all be tested. Consider this… the ultimate examination. Fail, and it won’t just be your pride on the line.”
A tense silence followed, broken only by the soft hum of the workshop’s arcane generators. They exchanged a glance—neither trusting the other.
