I also wanna talk about how the sith troopers were hyped. And that's all.

I think she meant more as in 'primary/significant villain in the presented narrative' as opposed to 'morally reprehensible character'.

You just said an actual storm trooper wasn't a bad guy XDDD

Nines wasn't even a "bad guy" in my opinion. He was antagonistic to Finn for good reason, but... hell. He would be a protagonist in his own story. I could even see a bunch of other troopers post-First Order still hunting down Finn to avenge their boy.

NINES. That fucking storm trooper threw his shit right down seeing Finn, because he was also an FN unit, and was pissed. He knew he had a lightsaber and he did not give a fuck, blaster and shield down, melee weapon up, it's time to throw the fuck down, traitor. Nines was SO COOL.

Bane. Absolute monster Sith'ari with one of the best written pieces of star wars fiction i've ever come across. I've unfortunately made a point to not watch the new trillogy though (originally as a statement to tell disney to go screw itself for burning down the EU, then just because they literally never looked good to me when they came out) so I can't say much about their villains besides the fact that kylo is just a poor man's darth cadeus. a million yeses to this though. the original take on grievous was fucking beautifuly horrific and exactly what you would expect out of a non-force-sensitive jedi hunter. A monster who can slay pre-cognizant warriors of the highest order because he hits faster, harder, and from more angles than anything they ever go up against even if they know where the blows are coming from before they hit, and knows to utterly horrify and demoralize them before striking. He also serves to make Dooku so much more badass by relation because he displays how tactiful Dooku is as a sith lord, training a Jedi hunter who can be an incredible tool for destruction and could even be used to tip the scales against Sidious, but whose explicit strengths and abilities can never be used against him himself because he trained Grievous himself and is therefore immune to his unconventional fighting style and fear tactics. The re-branding of him as an incompetent coward was one of the dumbest things Lucas ever did, and that's saying a lot.

Thrawn, though... brilliant. He is a master tactician and schemer. He won't face down Jedi like Vader or any of the others, but damn, his MIND. He was such an awesome villain in the original sequel trilogy books. I honestly haven't seen the new animation with him (was it Rebels or Resistance?) and haven't read the new Thrawn series, but still. He left an impression. But yeah, I didn't like Kylo Ren much, either, despite wanting to very badly. I mean, honestly... what kinds of bad guys did we even have? Snoke, a cheap knockoff of Palpatine. General Hux, who was essentially a petulant child with an anger management problem that no soldier could possibly respect as an officer. Captain Phasma, a token female officer in a pretty suit of armor who does literally fuck all. Guavian Death Gangs and Kanjiklub Gangs who are just a bunch of jokers... there were literally NO decent villains at all. For a movie that was a cheap knockoff of Episode IV, you'd think they would have done SOMEthing with the villains. Sheesh. Then they expand that with... what? no more Snoke? His red-suited guards who were like the only decent bad guys even though they just got slaughtered? Allegiant General Pryde was at least a decent general. The Knights of Ren did NOTHING. Then Palpatine, because... well apparently it's Skywalker vs Palpatine as the cornerstone of the entire Star Wars saga, but... I don't know. Did anyone else just not care about the bad guys in the final trilogy at all?

I really, REEEEEAAAALLY wanted to like Kylo Ren, but.... Couldn't. Nines was definitely the memorable villain of the sequel trilogy.

If we're talking all of Star Wars... Vader is going to take the cake. Look high, look low, look anywhere you want, there isn't a single villain in the history of anything anywhere that has the presence, the iconic status or that can be as instantly recognized as Darth Vader. We all saw Star Wars as kids, and we all knew after the stormers trampled the rebels on the Tantive, and that mofo steps in with his own music, that he was a terrifying, powerful individual of high status. He kept that throughout the original trilogy, how little he thought of his own subordinates, how he would off them or pay no mind at all to anyone insignificant, yet recognize success, all while still maintaining the overarching theme of balance that the saga is entirely about. Even to this day, when he shows up in Rebels, as soon as you heard his respirator in that dark hallway in Rogue One and his baller appearance in Fallen Order, put together by people who remember that same moment they first saw him step through that breached door and what they felt, they are pants shitting moments for the characters and "Oh, fuck." moments for us. THAT is the kind of presence that absolutely no one else has, sans MAYBE Mewtwo, in a different way for a different kind of fanbase. But, we're talking favorites, not greatest. Tarkin gets an honorable mention for being a consistently unrepentant and entirely dedicated slimeball. And for being smooth as butter, compliments of the latest, greatest Peter Cushing. Plus, he wore slippers on set. Notice how you never once see Tarkin's feet. I also really like that crazy ass scientist in Clone Wars who was obsessed with releasing the Corona Blue Shadow Virus into the galaxy. Mad scientists are always 10/10, the crazier, the better and this mf was entirely off his fucking nut. He was entertaining as all hell to watch, his little "isms", his wacky voice and fucked up speech patterns and his absolute glee over eradicating EVERYTHING. Absolutely nothing redeemable about him and that is how I like my villains. Tippy top, favorite villain, though? The original Genndy Tartakovsky version of General Grievous. Here's the thing about me; I LOVE DROIDS. I have a collection of them at home, my next visit to Galaxy's Edge will bear the fruit of even more droid related shit, and this guy was a mysterious, unstoppable bad ass robot (I know he is a cyborg) who not only killed Shaggy, but completely wiped out, what, three knights and two masters like they weren't even shit? His design was bad ass, you didn't know a goddamned thing about him except that he had purpose and a mission that he was going to complete and watching the Jedi run with Palpatine, we knew that it was an inevitability that he would probably kill them all. He was unstoppable, and Tartakovsky probably had so much fun putting that whole thing together that he forgot to realize that he made him too badass, so he had to literally last minute squeeze in some very non-Jedi shit in order to handicap him for Episode 3.

I still like Episode IV Darth Vader, when he was this mysterious, uber-powerful, black-clad villain that killed Luke's father and then his mentor, Obi-Wan. He was so... imposing, evil, unbeatable. They made him formidable in Rogue One and Rebels, too, but I feel like he really lost something in Episode III. I loved Asaj Ventress in Clone Wars and Darth Talon in the Legacy comics.

Ah, I like this question. P:< I feel as though the villains in the Star Wars universe tend to be more favourable and memorable over the heroes and protagonists in each film. My favourite Star Wars villains would have to be, in no particular order; Darth Maul, General Grievous, Emperor Palpatine, and Darth Vader. Also maybe including Sebulba, the podracer in The Phantom Menace, if he counts as a villain against Anakin. xP
  15. what is your favorite star wars villain or villains mine General Grievous and both Jango and Boba Fett
