"What does Hashi6 even mean?"

Good question. The short answer, it's a wordplay. But to understand the wordplay, we need to establish the company's history, because without knowing its history, and why it was created.

Founded in 2017, Hashi6 Production, Hashiroku Production, or its short form, HashiPro is an entertainment company, specializing in bringing forth talents in the idol industry. The company has its headquarters in a four-story block in downtown Tokyo, occupying the three upper floors, as well as the basement. The company was originally founded by six people - Here's where the 6 comes in - with mixed history from the idol industry from beforehand. One manager from a major firm, three producers, and two graduated idols, with the grand vision of creating a more ethical idol company.

Ethical, how? Plant a tree for every ticket sold to a concert? Subliminal messaging about electric cars?

Not exactly. More ethical for the idols.

The idol industry is a cutthroat business. Monstrous competition, short lifespan on the stages, pitiful wages, and poor rights for the idols themselves. Many starry-eyed girls would get into the industry, get drowned in debt, and in turn be forced to continue working there. Costumes, dance lessons, vocal coaches, it all costs money. Money that would have to come from the idols themselves. As if that wasn't enough, the wages would usually be horrible - National idols barely breaking even at the end of the month. All for a moment in the spotlight. And, when they got too old, they were thrown out, like a used pair of disposable chopsticks.

And that's how Hashi6 Productions came to life, seeking to be a new challenger in the already cramped field. The name mostly came out of desperation, the six struggling to find a good name. The topic of chopsticks (hashi) came around time and time again, and they were six, so... Hashiroku. Conveniently close to an Initial D reference as well, the hero car being a Toyota AE86, often referred to as a Hachiroku (eight-six). having been in business for the last five years, the company is on the rise, though still tiny compared to many other, much bigger companies. Still, what set them apart were their values;

  •  To offer the idols fair wages and cuts from events and sales, rather than being purely salaried. Bonuses and cuts would apply after their cut would surpass their set salary.
  • To offer full transparency of their idols' expected income after certain milestones in their career.
  • To offer dance and vocal coaches at reasonable rates for their idols, with deduction-models rather than forcing them to pay upfront (under certain terms)
  • To allow greater freedom in how the idols wish to lead their lives and careers. No restrictive rules regarding relationships, to be more open towards other entertainment forms, as opposed to many other companies that would railroad and focus on set entertainment forms.
  • To focus on internal recruiting when openings show themselves. Greater focus on what happens after an idol's graduation. Coaching to get back into a regular work-life.
  • To back up its idols in events of controversy where the idol was not at fault and behaved within her rights.

That of course sounded well and good, but the company still struggled to get off its feet. After all, it was a completely fresh contender, small fry in a sea of sharks. But, five years in the making, with several more experienced idols in their roster, even if they were David against Goliath, it's about time to start walking where Goliath does.

Hi there! Thank you for reading!

Hopefully that wasn't too much of a slog to read through, I wrote that up on a Saturday evening between Overwatch games, tipsy on Finnish mint-liquor. To summarize quickly, this club will focus on the relations between idols and their management. Expect heartfelt moments, bitter rivalries, steamy office-sex in that one supply-closet everyone suspects is used for sex, you name it really. I won't be running a very tight leash on this - Want your idol to start posing in BDSM-gear for gravure magazines? I'm sure there's a producer for that within the first few posted. There won't be any big GM-events, so it's mostly meant as a sandbox where players create their own stories in a shared universe that I'll detail
