A romance for the sycophants,

Craven havens and broken worlds

Shuffling zombies with pretty crowns,
Closets filled with elephants,

Lifeless Love and loveless hounds,
A feather in the cap.


Burst balloons and noisy colours,
Pictures with no memories,

Unheld hands and happy others,
A feather in the cap.


Castaways in concrete oceans,
Candles in the eye of storms,
Sovereign paupers and sparkling poisons, sweetened, twisted happy forms.
Bitter bed-friends, O miserable joy, queues of fragrant broken toys,

And from us all within our stalls of windy windows and crumbling walls,
Like violent calms in human farms,
beware our silent clap.

Our masks of smiles and widowed aisles,

Our feathers in the cap.
