Mitsuko stared at Jumi, surprised that she'd willingly join her despite the short time she had known her. As she wished, she didn't say anything even as Rie continued her outburst. She was not surprised by it but regardless of that, at least she was alive even if always defiant. If Shinigami was as powerful as Lenneth was, she didn't want to see her try to face her. Still... The fox had caused quite a turmoil with her presence. Nall was also spoken to but after Jumi finally told the fox that she was considering her offer, he frowned and flew straight for Mitsuko to drop the sword in her grasp before he went for Shinigami herself, flying between her and them. "You can't take her away. Not after what she went through!", he shouted at her. Shinigami blinked at the sight of the cat talking to her but her eyes shifted to Mitsuko who didn't look too much in bad shape now, thanks to having been healed, except for a few scratches and whatever her clothes was hiding anyway. Still, she shrugged it off. "She was the one who proposed for me to take her, wasn't she...? You can't deny this, cat boy." Nall knew that but he also knew why she had done it. "I will have you know that I am not a cat. And she only did because of what you did. That was mean.", he replied while Mitsuko watched, only feeling lightheaded still. Would Shinigami even know what being mean was. If she was the enemy, she probably had done much worse than threatening someone with potential death. Shinigami still recognized that it was the truth but whether she actually cared or not was hard to decrypt. Her eyes returned to Nall, figuring that maybe going along with this wouldn't sit well with what she had originally planned. In fact, the playtime with Rie was not planned either and such was what lead to Mitsuko giving herself to begin with. She was growing bored with them anyway. "Fine...", she finally said, leading Nall to look surprised for a moment. Was she... going back on her idea? Shinigami continued, "But it doesn't mean that I don't want a moment with the girl...", grinning as she spoke. "You heroes have business to finish that I do not care about but I still want enjoy myself and I will. So, what will it be?", She asked.

Basically, you need to make a character that would fit as a Magical girl or knight. Or you can also make a villain who are mostly demons but can also be aliens or others potential forces. After that, one of us can always see where such characters would fit best but you can also have your own ideas about that. Check the character list if you want an idea of what we have. Anything or almost is fine but magical girls are mostly humans while villains can be pretty much anything. After that, the fun part is inserting your character into the story.

Shinigami looked surprised but she guessed that it was in their heroic nature to doubt all of which they considered enemies. Humans were quite a special kind of species, after all. This made it even more worthwhile to have gone there and see the place and its magical beings for herself. Doing so revealed much about how their world was not as perfect as they wanted it to be. Inferior beings on one side and protectors who were not mature nor experienced enough to stand a chance against overwhelming odds on the other. Still, more to the question, Shinigami felt right to provide an answer, "Nothing that she won't enjoy as much as I will. You don't have to believe me when I say that I will treat her well...", she tried to play nice and give a honest answer, whatever that meant for the likes of Shinigami or the way the heroes of the room would interpret it. Still, she was not completely heartless, "If you are so worried about her, I would gladly have you join her. I saw the look you gave each others...", she teased a little at the end but it remained the truth. Mitsuko only blushed a little more, now. As much as she wanted to control that, it was hard not to be speechless at what the fox girl was doing. Ever since the first tease of Shinigami, she still wondered if what Jumi had warned her about rung true for this one fox in particular. She didn't want Jumi to suffer again though... Getting Jumi aboard would allow her to stay close to the one she cares about but what she had in mind for them was not clear. A small part of her felt like it would not be a bad thing, though. Not entirely...

I understand. And yes, even if Shinigami's weakness is not >known< with all she can do, it doesn't mean she does not have one. That said, I've left you with details of my feelings about what's going on in ET. I seem to see that this is not exactly making everyone happy anyway so I will wait and see what your opinion(s) is before I continue writing on this path.
-
You should. I have lot of interesting characters there myself and they always accept new characters, slowly including them in the whole thing going on. No worries.

Nothing much, when it comes to this club. At the same time, there's been stuff happening so yeah. Can't really blame anyone for the lack of activity. I am mostly busy elsewhere for the time being. Sorry to hear that you had a rough time for a while. I knew something was up but hoped you were alright. And yes, I decided to embrace Warning.

Shinigami watched the whole event unfold, staying as patient as usual. Despite what it looked, she just seemed like she was enjoying herself more than anything. Mitsuko seemed light-headed from the whole situation but she was not ready to back down, yet. She did however appreciate Azreal's concern and praise for her bravery. This alone would not satisfy the fox, though. She probably could be slain if everyone went at her but would it stop her? The confidence that the fox showed was too much to bear, too horrifying to ignore... If it really was suicide to be where they were for her kind, why did she seem to take this much pleasure in taunting such fate? She was about to kill one of them without hesitation... Then something wrenched at her heart as she heard Jumi's voice behind her... The voice clearly expression care toward her, a desperate wish to see her saved from whatever fate would wait for her, assuming that the fox still wanted to take her. Risking jumi's life to protect her would go against what she hoped to do, though. As much as she felt that Rie didn't deserve her, Mitsuko didn't want to throw what chance she might have given them away now. Shinigami seemed as relaxed as usual, scarily so, but her tail soon moved again as she spoke to them, "Let the girl come with me and I'll leave peacefully... This is the only deal I'm offering. You know she wants it and I'm starting to want it as well. I will treat her well.". Mitsuko blushed a little from that, having no idea what she meant. Why did she even blush anyway...? Maybe it was a consequence of tasting pleasure, clouding her judgement regarding her emotions. She wanted to believe that Shinigami didn't want to kill her, at least... The tail brush tease of earlier at worst made her feel like she had other intentions with her. She hated to admit it but if that was so, it was still a fate better than death. She was still shaking but her decision could stop this once and for all, at least before Rie would make it worse for everyone. "D-don't worry, Jumi... I will be alright. I don't think she would take me only to kill me...", she told her, without looking back, keeping her eyes on the fox girl.

OMG. You. Wasn't it you who spent a good time with Florence and Warning? XD I joined this club like afterwards in hope to re-use the characters.

Yes, I realize this but at least the lack of such horrific elements is so far explained by her intentions made clear that she wasn't really there to kill anyone. She wanted however to let everyone present know that she exists and she is to be feared and this is where the interesting drama started. Let's put it in context, an unhinged character who can probably doom her entire surrounding dares face an entire clan of magical girls and knights. She also made very clear that dying would have little consequences for herself WHILE another character was doomed to die by her. The result here is kinda self-explanatory. Bad end, you kill her anyway and nobody's around anymore to stop the doomed character from dying. She is the seven hells in person and she still has enough control to simply show her face and entertain herself with the reaction of everyone surprised to see someone there. Actually, I enjoyed a lot Azreal in this scene because he was absolutely conscious of what Shinigami represented and tried to give a chance for her to set her ground without escalation. Or at least it seemed like it. When you look at everyone else's reactions, you realize quickly that they're all due to one person who couldn't shut the hell up even if her life and everyone else's depended on it while she claimed with a straight face that people had faith in them and counted on them to protect them. She was putting everyone's lives in jeopardy. To Mitsuko, it's something she will remember for a good while and this is why I think an association with her is no longer possible. And this where she is torn with the idea that she met Jumi and wants to be there for her but anyhow this scene will go, Mitsuko will not really be able to stay with her like she hoped to do. Rie represents the entire opposite of what Mitsuko tries to be. This is why Mitsuko remained silent yet horrified while the scene was going on and she finally spoke out when a life was about to end. Protection vs endangerment. She wanted to be the blade to protect the ones in need. The nurse is being the reason everyone's in danger to begin with. The contrast here is ultimately very funny.

A few corrections here and my feelings since yesterday did NOT change. Mitsuko did not do it for Rie but for Jumi exactly because she respects her enough to also respect the anger Jumi had for seeing her friend being "threatened" with doom. And for the record, Mitsuko's FP (Friendship Points) for Rie is plummeting like a downhill river. The bit of respect, if any, that she had for her upon meeting with her is principally gone to the point she wonders if being part of the team is even worth it. In Mitsuko's case, it's a struggle between her new found love for Jumi and her absolute disgust for Rie's ticking bomb of an attitude. She doesn't want to die, obviously. But taking her place would allow Rie to remain safe for Jumi, who she believes both already have a history together and is worth protecting. Keyword, protecting. She is willing to protect Jumi with her life (as she said she would). As it was demonstrated, Mitsuko realizes that she is (for now) more or less out of her element and daring to establish a de-escalation between them has put her in a bad position. She might not realize all of what she's doing but she had went with what her heart told her to do. She can be combative but she also wishes to give her all to protect those she cares about. Hence how she came to be the Valkyrie. By tossing her sword back to Nall, she was ready to make sure Jumi will have another day with Rie who, honestly, while she doesn't understand the appeal there but they seem to be good friends and it was one thing she thought was worth to give herself for. It's not like anyone else was gonna do it anyway. Rie was so focused on trying to badmouthjutsu Shinigami with no thoughts that all she would have achieved was to get everyone else killed for her reckless attitude so yeah... Take this as a fun little backstory for what's really going on here as I felt it would be fun to at least explain the motivations behind what is really going on in this scene. As for this part, I was totally aware of what I was doing. And this is why Shinigami is not hellhound nor any other demon. If such courage or recklessness is not backed by a form of equal power then the scene would not have as much impact. Let's be honest, what would happen if hellhound showed herself the same way Shinigami did? She could summon her inner beast and take out a few people but she would effectively end dead without escape. A fact that was made evident when she tried to go but she was told no exactly for this reason. Shinigami's lack of fear or stress shows that something's definitely off with her. Something that she can back with power. Her little demonstration (that I could have made much worse) was only a hint of why she thinks she can just go there and not care about what happens to her. Her profile explains even how fearsome she sounds like... I am not condemning the resistance she was given by saying this but I feel like a proper explanation was due. Now if we want to complain about her being OP, we have to ask if the complaint IS because she is OP or because some characters feel powerless before her? Because if it's the latter, well I'm sorry that the hero is not always the strongest one all the time? Lenneth would be considered OP but she got no complaint so far. Mitsuko was beaten by her and she's my character so of course no one has any reasons to complain. Yet. I feel dizzy at the fact such interesting looking scenarios attracted such drama but welp. I had motivation for some cool scenes but those are mostly built on my own. (Let's remember I wrote that Hellhound decimated an entire town to herself). The balance of power is creating some unexpected tension. This is what is destroying my mood... I am still in full confusion that Shinigami was sold as a broken character (themed on death) but I get complaints only AFTER I decided to use her. It kinda ruins the fun...
-
I feel like if I allowed Shinigami to listen to whoever that blu guy is, I'd get nothing much out of it. It's basically a lot of words for "We don't like you, gtfo", and mostly trying to clown/provoke her. (Rie PTSD) XD. It's like he's trying to get the fox girl to kill them despite her original intents. And Mitsuko's sacrifice was a honorable attempt to not make Rie die for not shutting the fuck up (All this for Jumi, mind you, not Rie). This is making me start to regret using this character to begin with, though. Or at least, at this time. At least it cleared up the relationship value between Mitsuko and Rie... Sigh. It went as I thought it would... If these two are supposed to be in the same team, the fury between them will make Jumi lose her goddamn mind. I don't believe the two are very compatible together. Welp... All of these ideas only to feel depressed about it. I need a break for the night, maybe I'll come and take a peek again tomorrow and see what's going on. Sorry for bitching. I just thought this would be more fun than the tension this received.

Sorry of the inconvenience of my speed post. I did not see your icon "typing" at the bottom so I thought I was safe. I felt it was appropriate to give Azreal a response.

Fine fine, I'll make sure to add "Bad Etiquette Warning" to Shinigami's page and make you happy about it. "Warning, this character can doom you.". It's not like this character has death smudged all over her profile anyway. Would be ridiculous. I was 99% sure that people would know that she can use at least doom because I've literally told everyone she can do that. Yes, not exactly in the mood to be annoyed about something I made sure to let everyone know that she can do. But I guess there's always one person... (Yes, sorry, I'm upset) Granted, we can't please everyone but I was seeing positive reactions so it's my bad for not mind reading the depth of people's thoughts about her. The rest of the ride with her will be wild... But I've liberated Rie of the curse anyway. And since I see the last post only now, I posted again because I felt like Azreal's post definitely required an immediate reaction. I am also wondering if that assumption about her isn't the basis of all the heat that this event gathered so far. (But yeah, this is also why Mitsuko has no response there...) Welp...
-
Shinigami blinked then finally burst out laughing, awkwardly probably with the tension that was around, "Wait...", she said while finding her breath, "When I mentioned being hungry, did you believe that I was looking to feed on your kind...? Reaping souls in order to feed on them? Is this what this is about...?", she asked, looking at everyone with a return of her twisted grin. "I am sorry to say that you all have been sorely mistaken... I was truly here to spend a nice time with the world's most famous beings. Do you believe that I would have wasted my time if I wished to do what you're implying?", she questioned and snapped her fingers, making the counter over Rie vanish. "Not very kind of you to assume this, now is it...?", she amusingly commented.

You know what the character is, though. What makes you think this will not happen again? Also, if you're fine with it once then what's the problem? Some things ARE auto hit. It might sound like cheating but I've seen much worse. It's a literal spell being aimed at someone. Do you think you could evade curses if they were cast at you? Just so we're clear (and I realize the very irony of what I'm about to say), but this is not harry potter where wand spell are shot all over the place. Even a healing magic could be auto-hit yet nobody will complain about that because of its life based nature. Until it's cast on a zombie and then it becomes too OP? Seems to me that there's a conflicting basis for what is accepted and what is not? o.O

Shinigami remained calm as usual, just taking the vocal beating as she closed her eyes too. Mitsuko herself seemed horrified by Rie's continued outburst but Jumi's addition to it seemed to put the nail on the coffin of what she intended to do now. She had no idea who the names were but perhaps they held a significance to them. She, herself, was too new to know any of this. Her eyes turned to the fox to see what her reaction to Rie's suicidal intents was and the horrible reality struck her as the fox raised her hand, seemingly to snap once more. "TAKE ME!", she shouted before even thinking, still shaking as she felt out of place anyway. Lenneth was scary by strength but Shinigami had something else to her... Darker. Shinigami stopped and opened her eyes, looking at the girl between them and herself, not counting Azreal's field. "Take you...? You would sacrifice yourself for her...? Tempting...", she replied with a smile, even her tail started moving. Mitsuko was too new for this but she had went too far already and she started to have a lot on the heart, replying, "R-rie will die to prove whatever she thinks she's proving, she will not shut up...", she said, turning her head to glare at the nurse with annoyance. She barely knew her and this part of her already annoyed her. The adrenaline also made her speak more freely. Her head turned to Shinigami again, "B-but she is Jumi's teammate and she needs her. Leave her be for her sake." Nall was speechless, just being there and not knowing what to do, his wings flapping lightly. If it was not bad enough, Mitsuko soon lost her transformation and turned to him before she removed what was around her neck and tossed it toward him, finally making the flying cat react to dash and catch the sword necklace. "Mifuko...!", he tried to call her name but the necklace broke his pronunciation. His worry was readable, though. The schoolgirl smiled and looked at Shinigami. "Jumi told me about what demons do to us... Take me but leave her be..." The request seemed to work as the fox lowered her arm before she looked toward Azreal mostly and said, "I was not here to hurt anyone but I will gladly take this girl..."

You do realize it's a DOOM, right? And while I hold myself from killing her out of curtesy, this is literally what doom does and it's not a fireball? You were dealt no pain, no damage, no harm... All I learned here is that one character could be the cause of whatever disaster Shinigami could do because she had a loud mouth and a bigger ego and someone's complaining because such action held consequences... YET, I never had the power to kill your character anyway because it's against basic RP rules. You were hit by a story gimmick and you still complained. It's wind. Clearly you didn't like being the target of that move but there's no bias from me with it. It was the consequence of Rie's attitude and nothing else to it... I mean, He's right. I don't see anything upsetting with it. It's the reality of the situation. Mitsuko herself (and yes, big bias there) seemed baffled to see the good side characters react like this since provoking an enemy never seem to be a good idea to begin with. Jumi's reaction is a little more understandable because it's her teammate who's put at risk and the gamble is pretty high. Story wise, I find it very interesting. The reason his post changes my own is just because it adds a consideration into what I will be doing.
-
I do understand that. The only power she used so far was doom, which is a typical death boss mechanic anyway. Although, I understand we probably can't resurrect from it as well but I also won't simply thanos everyone. (And for the record, he is technically stronger than she is. XD) What makes you think I did not plan anything, though? She was intended to be much scarier than this but I definitely lowered the level due to not wanting to bother or involve people not included in this scene. I was going almost horror with this, a thing you might have noticed from my first post with her before I decided to edit it. So yes, I worked a lot of it already. I also mentioned that the event would pretty much go as planned unless someone derails it. So far, no real derailment. I mean, I expected even Rie's attitude at this point and I knew that Mitsuko's intervention would be 50/50 ignored. Now that I see the outcome of that, I am already working on the consequential post of that current path. Edit 1: She was also >sold< as a death focused villain. So I am a little confused about the complaint about her being death focused... (Not joking...) Edit 2: Azreal's new post is making me change my post a little but I like it. This is getting more interesting. Now, to see where I will be going with it.
-
I mean, not really. Remember what Shinigami was there for at first. I am not bashing anyone for trying to stop her but Azreal was the most level headed in this situation. Rie telling her a straight no is why she was the prime target of her demonstration. She probably wouldn't have cast anything without her defiance. (And there's a difference between defiance and simply protecting their ground.) And let's be honest, doom is not death. It still doesn't enter the rule of killing character, it would if the thing DOES activate. If I started discussing what nasty thing I have in mind then we might as well carebear this around with petty magic and skills. I mean, do we also ask permission if we scratch someone's body, wound them, make them bleed? I was not asked permission when Hellhound was shot. I simply reacted to it and if I didn't want my character to die, I found a way so she doesn't die that can be explained in the story. This scene is exactly supposed to demonstrate that some enemies out there will not play nice with you and hug you. The funniest in this scenario or the scariest is not her but the fact Rie thought provoking her was a good idea. I was baffled myself the first time I saw it. Asking her "What card do you think you hold?" and "Everyone will hunt you?". She made very precise that she doesn't care about that. Rie tried to intimidate her into making her lose her ground and it only increased her will to show you that you're an insect to her. Most demons see it as a suicide to step in the magic girl HQ, SHE sees it like fun. This is what she shows.
-
It's worrying yes. But so is any enemy capable of inflicting doom in any situation anyway. Some have power through strength, some through magic. She has power through death. And note, I am not being seen cheating or breaking the RP rules. Rie was never meant to actually "die", hence the fun thing about turning around it to make the tense situation I'm looking for. But I will simply say "it's funny you mention that". That said, remember that Shinigami escalated it slowly because Rie is, well, Rie. And she kept being Rie. XD Because of that, however, that opened to me a new direction in what I want to do. But yeah, she is more or less inevitable. How many seemingly hopeless enemies ever existed anyhow and all managed to find defeat at one point or another. The irony is that I went at first with just fun in mind until out-of-control escalation happened. To this point, again, they only managed to prove Shinigami right. The world savers are, for some of them, irrational and pretending to protect while being themselves the cause of their demise. "I thought your kind would be more judicious..." -Shinigami
-
You can see her now. And yeah, I understand what Rie "wishes" to do in nature but she seems to lack all senses of self-preservation. So much that even Mitsuko had to step in to try and stop her from killing herself. And yeah, while they're trying to warn her of the threat of a thousand magical girl, she also doesn't show a single hint of backing out of that, just wanting to be there anyway. XD The only reason they pulled their weapon is because of the doom threat on Rie but SHE will single handed get everyone killed. Just consider that in any real story (As warned by Shinigami), if there was no rule of no character kill, Rie would have been killed right off for her defiance and inability to shut the hell up. Mitsuko knows a bit too well but it wasn't too bad when it was just them. A "god of death" as Azreal put it though is a little hot to play with. The whole "What cards do you think you hold" was a big oof to throw at someone who literally holds your life in the palm of her hand. She is currently saved by RP rules plotarmor, nothing else.
-
I love how Mitsuko at least tried to de-escalate but Rie only adds more. XD Like, if there was not any rules for not killing characters, she'd be dead without real consequences. In fact, their behavior is proving Shinigami right and it just makes me giggle. Azreal seems to have understood the assignment, at the very least. Rie is putting a "please kill me" sign on her forehead. Edit: The pictures loaded to me because I still had the loaded cache. I fixed them now and I don't know why they pictures actually changed. You can view them now... x.x

Shinimagi could only grin for a bit before she shrugged with disappointment to Azreal's question. "Did I not explain this already...? But you are correct about the spell cast upon her. Mostly...", she confirmed, soon resting her arms crossed against her chest. As she listened to Rie's ramble, she didn't seem fazed even once, even smirking at the end of it. "Your loud mouth is what got you there. I do believe it is also the reason even your kind doesn't like you... As you pretend to fight to protect others, your behavior is the very one putting them and yourself in danger.", she observed with amusement before she snapped her fingers and froze the clock above Rie's head at 13, not without a fearsome yet calm expression to herself. "You seem to be under the impression that I do not hold the cards. Think about your situation carefully... Pulling your weapon as I warned you of the consequences of fighting me, even as you gloat over the damage you would be causing, for the only reasoning of convincing yourself that you did something right...", she spoke coldly before she snapped her fingers again, this time quickening the counter down to stop again at 01. "Your death would bring no consequence to me that I am not already enjoying. You cannot bluff or intimidate me into leaving you alive... Your life is meaningless. Kill me and your friends will watch you die. I thought your kind would be more judicious...", she called out the group's behavior with a smile. Mitsuko watched with horror as Rie could die anytime and this fox girl did not give a care in the world. Worse... Rie was even provoking her and all of them were ready to start a fight in this place once safe. Obviously Shinigami was in the wrong but she had not done much so far except for holding Rie's life within her grasp, if she spoke the truth. Nall himself was quiet and shocked and there was not much he could do. She may be new to all of this but if she let this happen, these magical girls, Rie more so, would just cause everyone's death. The fox had said it herself, her death would be inconsequential but Rie's would be real. "E-ENOUGH!", she suddenly shouted and moved between them and the fox looking at the group. Mitsuko closed her eyes for a second, knowing she was forfeiting herself on either side but someone had to speak wisely. The fox herself blinked but observed quietly. "A-are you all really going to do this here? Rie... Stop. Talking!", she kept shouting, her face showed as much fear as she showed a glimpse of courage mixed with sadness, even shaking a bit as she went on. "Do you really want her to kill you this much...? I-I don't know how you fight your enemies but this is not a game... I am sorry to be out of line but I beg you to stop... She is not afraid to die, not afraid of any of you... B-but...", her eyes shifted up to the "1" above Rie before she looked at everyone, barely able to stand on her feet. "Please... stop this now..."
