Jumi finally shifted back. There she was again, and she hoped the girl had lost interest in them or would not appear again so soon or in what should have been the safest place. But at least she was confident there would be backup this time, and not just Hikaru. At least Nall was pulled away from the whatever the woman was. She rubbed her forehead a bit in frustration with a soft sigh. “You and your damn apples.” She was not sure how much they could really trust her to be honest even if they went along with it. Or if she might try something like what happened to Shinigami last time they ran into her. Was not excited about the idea of eating another apple of hers. ”We just talked to the master of the place. I don’t think he appreciates your trespassing, or threatening our souls.” They did have that advantage. Whatever ‘Death’ really was, could she just shrug off the idea of offending Maxim in the center of his temple? They were presumably than anywhere else this might happen. Though she glanced to Shinigami. Most curious how she wanted to handle this. Did she, or Mitsuko, want to take their chances with this, ask any questions?

Many many installations later. See about posting now. Dreams did have her status update on the 20th, mentioning her return from inactivity, wanting to jump back into RPs but not being sure who would want her to come back in. I encouraged to keep going here, though did not get a reply to that. If you see this, Dreams, still would welcome you to jump back in here. But no pressure/rush.

Long weekend. Have Monday off, was off a little early today too, but short term distraction of a new computer and getting it setup/things installed. Will get some replies in elsewhere soon. May look for other pictures/info for the setting thread here too. Hopefully Gard is just busy, not dealing with more difficult stuff. Will wait a little longer there at least. But if he still does not login for a while, may have Dai wander upstairs, check on Ryoko, see what else is going on and see if he involves himself at all but don't want to shake things up there too much before he is back..

Noises of footsteps, sounds of voices. Alexandrine could not hear the words, but it sounded like both Exzel and Elie were here. Whether that made things awkward or not would remain to be seen. She was not sure if she should go to them, wait for them, or for the butler to lead her to them. Her mind had been too distracted, a rare thing, that she had missed the butler’s earlier question on whether she wanted to wait in a different room. Reflexively scratched a moment at her neck, the collar that could not be seen or physically felt at the moment, but that she was there. Not trying to activate it, but distracted by thoughts of the nearby demon. One of at least two in the building. Were there more? Now that she was tied to a demon, she had to guess she would be seeing more of them. Could only hope they were closer to Exzel than Zorn and those who followed him. That was something else she had to figure out what to do about, and hope Emi did not get tangled up in it on her own.

Should hopefully get a reply in there tomorrow.

Maxim’s eyes drifted off to the distance as Shinigami spoke, listening but feeling they should end it here. There was irritation on his face. “I do not appreciate those who invade my temple. I may have to consider getting personally involved. But for now I will send you back. Hikaru is approaching as well, and can assist if needed. I can help get him into the room if needed. It may be a while before we speak again. But I will keep watching, and tell you anything I may learn about ‘Death’.” He had long avoided getting involved in mortal affairs, or assisting him family in non-subtle ways. But the sanctity of a temple must be defended, he would watch a little, but had to consider dealing with the invaders, punish them in some way. But first, he began sending Shinigami back, so she could assist as necessary, against the invaders that appeared to know her. As Jumi and the others began to shift back, Umi turned with anger and alarm. No one had dared enter this place uninvited like this. And while those three were apparently having an unprecedented holy audience? Did they really dare tempt divine intervention? “Begone from this holy place! You are not welcome here. If you seek a battle it is unlikely to go well for you.” She did not have the power to fight. Hikaru would not ignore this though. Perhaps Maxim, or even his father, would not either. She did not actually know if these invaders were looking for a fight, but they did not give off a good impression. Coming uninvited was not appreciated either.

The original idea was a work/home blend for the women. They live there and do at least most of their work in their rooms. But yeah, could be more specialized rooms too. May or may not copy character images from that club, for some of the women there, though still looking for a picture for Ryoko’s mom.

I should give an explanation on that. A whole mix of things, some of which LEROZERO is already aware of, has left my writing at a much slower pace than it often is, even with a few RPs on hold as several partners appear to be busy. I have been trying to get my gears going again with existing RPs, picking up the pace on them again, before replying to requests for new stuff. Though that has been taking longer than I thought it might.

Things were quiet. Alexandrine was used to quiet. The familiar feeling of her life at home the past few years, only briefly broken up over he last few days, but that bit of warmth was in danger. What was more certain was those around her in this place. Who would appear first, the butler, Elie, Exzel, both of them together? It was quiet, but a little restless. She had not felt like this in a long time. Was likely to feel certain feelings, or desires if Exzel appeared. But she still had to apologize to Ellie for getting carried away that night. She could not guess where this was going to go now, other than she was following Exzel’s lead, wherever that went. It made her a little tense as she sat and waited. She was not going to go wandering off on her own. It did feel a little strange, in such a big fancy house, compared to her small apartment. Only Hikaru’s temple was somewhat similar, at least in size. She found it a little hard to imagine living in such a place, especially alone or with just one or two others. She just had to wait, for whoever would show up first. Find out what happened after things were resolved with Elie. What Exzel intended for her.

There was an interesting question. One he wondered about to a degree as well. “Ah, the one who could be called your mother? That is a good question. My eyes have been mostly of my family, their enemies. Genuine demons. But that one, she eluded my gaze until I watched Jumi and Mitsuko meet you. Is she truly death? Some sort of goddess? A magical girl, with ambitions to be more? Maybe something in disguise? If she was just a Magical Girl, she should not have been able to resist a goddesss one on one. But her powers are unusual. And to create someone like you, whether through magic or birth…you are correct she does seem to be hiding something, though what it is, I do not yet know. He might not have been able to give Shinigami a useful answer in the moment. But perhaps he could offer something. ”These are things I wish to know as well. Just what is she, and what is her purpose? If I should find answers to these questions, I will share my answers with you. I truly wish to help you three, it was unfortunate I could not offer you more. But that at least is something I can do, try to look into these things and give you the answers you seek. I hope you can find acceptance among humanity on terms that satisfy you, though it probably will be easy. The two girls, and perhaps a few others care about you. I understand why you declined the offer, but Jumi was willing to accept the offer, to help you, perhaps try to understand you better, by temporarily becoming more like you.” Jumi herself was beginning to shift back towards her body, could not add much to that. But Maxim knew Jumi better than Shinigami or Mitsuko, watched her longer. Her could guess her motives, some more playful or curious, but deeper feelings as well. It was something that made him a little more hopeful of their chances.

It’s mostly there due to its connection to Ryoko (I’ll probably also write something up for Dai’s idol agency eventually, among other places). That and being easy to move over due to it originally being its own club. It probably will eventually have it’s own separate thread, people can come and go from, and while not being a big part of the story, others could potentially make characters who work there,

Well looked like she would miss her chance to indulge that curiosity. Mildly unfortunate, but Jumi was not too surprised. She would not push that point, but it was more unfortunate they could not get any help here. It looked like Shinigami and Mitsuko did not see much hope of getting help here, but she felt she should say something before they were sent back. “That idea might not work, but if anyone has anything else they might want to try asking, now is the time. Not every day you get a god willing to help you out.” Maxim did not seem offended, but Jumi had to wonder if they would get another chance, if they thought of something later. Even as she said this, she began to feel something lightly pulling her back towards her body. Only slowly, lightly for now. Not as fast as when they had been brought here. Perhaps he was giving them at least a short chance, to ask for something else, if they had ideas. “It would be tragic for such a fight. When no one involved had been manipulated by demons.” Maxim was troubled by the possibility of Magical Girls fighting each other unnecessarily, though there was only so many ways he could help. He did not intend to get involved, not shed such innocent blood. “As for your trouble with a certain other goddess, I will see what I can do to help.” He would not, perhaps could not, fight that enemy off on his own, but perhaps he could help there, if they were in danger. “Unless there is anything else you would ask, you will all be returned to your bodies in a moment.” As Jumi suspected, he would give them a short chance to ask, if they had their own ideas for how he might help regarding Shinigami.

I figure could be either one of you two, depending on if they wake up on their own or get woke up by the butler. Either way, Alexandrine will wait until one or more of them come back to see her.

Alexandrine tried to relax as best she could, while waiting for the tea. She listened to the butler, a bit troubled by what she heard. A demon had been here all along? Around Ellie? Had Ellie known? Had it influenced her being drawn to Exzel? She tried not to overthink it, or be concerned. There was no longer any ground for her to complain about it. She could only hope this demon was closer to Exzel than Zorn. She let him leave without saying anything, to work on the tea, wake up Ellie, maybe Exzel. She had to prepare herself, apologize for that night, the three of them, Exzel claiming her body and soul. It was important to say, but she also had her warning to give Elie. It was enough to distract her for the moment from worries about Emi. Big things were likely to happen one way or another. To learn what it truly meant long term, to serve Exzel.

Adding the first post of notes there. Could be edited either by discussion here, or me thinking about it more. Might not be a major setting in the story, but could be visited from time to time by characters. Maybe or maybe not including Ryoko. First case. Ryoko's childhood home, the Whorehouse, the House of Sin. This could be edited some, I am starting with my thoughts from how my previous idea of the place worked, on its old club. Still have to consider adjustments for the setting, how to cyberpunk up the place. Though it's atmosphere kind of fits already. Anyone who wants to ask questions about it or discuss it on the OOC Chatterbox thread can do so. It may or may or may not lead to edits. The night club is probably on the nicer side of town, likes to look modern, fancy, appeal to high end clients. This place, not as much. It is hidden deep in the less pleasant side of town. That said, it does (discretely) get its share of higher end clients. The club is infamous for how easily and openly people have sex. But there are limits, practical and otherwise for what is available there. This alternative also provides privacy, if you desire that. More importantly almost anything is available for the right price. About the only things unavailable is anything that would permanently hurt or kill the staff (though, with cyberpunk, maybe there are workarounds for even that). And in respect of site rules, absolutely nothing involving anyone under 18, or who might appear to be under 18. Beyond that, anything is potentially available. Addressing the point of Ryoko, and what is available. Some of the women working there have children. While all of them are provided birth control, they can choose not to take it, or be paid not to take it. The women live in the place, as do their children. Children are kept away from all the sex though, no participation or witnessing of it (though they are told what their mothers do for work, when old enough to understand). There is some expectation daughters join in after they turn 18, continue the family business. But Ryoko left, rather than follow in mom's footsteps. (notes from the original club I am pulling this from): As far as the building itself goes, it is a somewhat rundown square, 2 or maybe three story building with a basement. It was originally an office building, converted to this purpose. The girls tend to work on the upper floors. Each girl having an 'office' which includes a small bed, and a mix of both personal belongings and 'accessories' for her job. No girl is forced to do anything she does not want to. But the more she does, the more she earns. Payment is based on both the frequency of her work and the specifics of what she does. When a customer comes in, they are taken to an office on the first floor and given a list of options for activities, with prices for and pictures of all the girls, both clothed and nude, working there (with a list of the favorite activities and things they won't do). The guy picks his options and either schedules a later time or tries to do it immediately. Time options range from a few minutes, a few hours, one night, or (rather expensive) several nights. There may or may not be some discussion between the staff and the chosen girl, if more unusual activities are chosen. If she refuses to do something, they will see if another girl will do it and if the customer will accept her, or they will try to compromise with an activity adjustment. It is rare that something mutually agreeable cannot be figured out. After everything is over and payment is made, the girl gets a portion of it and another portion goes to the ownership. Like I said almost anything goes. Most of the girls are in the 18 or slightly higher age range. But there are some older women, but not younger. And there is at least one girl willing to perform just about any request someone could think of, though they might not want to do some of them with a lot of frequency. There are sections of the building/individuals focused on certain more pricey fetishes, examples including attempted breeding, younger girls, humiliation, 'toilet activities', BDSM or watching girls with non-human partners. These are considered specialists of sorts, performing roles that others will never or only very rarely do. Girls willing to do FxF are partially in this category. A slightly higher price due to not all girls wanting to do it and female customers being rarer than male customers but not at the specialist level. The staff is all women, and a few futas (for sex work, there are some men working as security). The nightclub is a better place to go, if you want a man. Though there may be other options for that somewhere in the city.

Probably will keep that thread to just notes about the places/setting in general, while discussion and figuring things out still happen here (cleaner that way, even if a certain other club's Setting Development Thread got rather fun and long by mixing the notes and discussions).

There was no hint of anger or disappointment in the divine figure’s face. He was willing to help, but would not be offended by their declining it. Unfortunately even with power such as his, there was limits to what he could offer. They might leave with nothing accomplished. If so, he would wish for the best, but stay out of it. He was not the sort of god to use his powers on those who did not desire it. “I was told you might feel that way. It did not really surprise me, it was merely an offer.” He now considered it declined, would not speak more of it unless they gave a hint of changing their minds. “As for where we are, why you are all like that. Only your souls are here. The light covering you, it is simply given to all visitors, though might be comfortable without it….” He paused as he considered how to answer the where. “This has been my home since I left the mortal world. A place between worlds. It is not something like the afterlife in any case. When we are done here, whatever may happen, I will return you all to your bodies in the temple.” But he did not immediately offer anything else. Perhaps assuming anything within his power might be rejected? Or seeing if any of them asked about an alternative? Not immediately returning them to the temple either way. Jumi saw Mitsuko’s look. Might as well speak her mind, even if it did not change anything. She was unsure if this Demi-god could help them, but she appreciated the attempt. Might as well give her opinion of the offer, like the other two had, if nothing else. “I get it, we aren’t asking for something with an easy answer. Even a god can only help in so many ways. I get why Shinigami feels the way she does. Not going to try to convince her to do something she doesn’t like. All I will say about it is I would not be bothered by what might happen to me in such a deal.” She was already used to living a double life, keeping secrets. IF Shinigami wanted to do it, she would be prepared for the changes. But unless her willingness to do it had an impact, she doubted it would change anything. Would not try to tell Shinigami to try it if she found the core idea unpleasant.

Jumi had kept mostly quiet, listening to the other two with some interest, though she would speak up when it came time to make a decision or if she had something important to say. She thought Mitsuko was doing a good job, though her imagination was wandering. If she or Mitsuko took a firm like Shinigami’s, how would she react? Would she be more attracted to them? And would the transformation include everything Shinigami had. Experiencing that, doing it with Mitsuko or Shinigami was kind of appealing. But not worth seriously considering unless Shinigami liked the idea, which she was skeptical about. Only uncertain if the temporary changes to her and Mitsuko might make it more appealing to Shinigami. Maxim listened to Mitsuko as well. Of course nothing was going to happen unless Mitsuko, Shinigami and Jumi all agreed. Suggestions were merely being made now, to the two women who prayed for his help. Help he was willing to offer, but it remained to be seen if it would be accepted. “I could bring all three here. My reach is not limited to those inside the temple. Though the Sorceress is in the middle of something she should not be distracted from.” Alexandrine was not likely to appear, but Nymphia was not an impossibility. If her input might have an influence, he could bring her over. Shinigami though, nothing would happen without her approval. Perhaps it was time to bring her over. With a moment of concentration he reached out. Gently pulled her to appear at the side of Mitsuko and Jumi. “Welcome, Shinigami. I answered these girls prayers, called them here to speak with them. To offer help, I am willing, but only if you all agree to what I offer. Nothing will be forced on you.” ”It is not an easy thing to help with. I did have one idea. I would understand if it does not appeal to you. But I will offer it to all of you, only grant it, if all of you desire it. The easiest solution of course would be to appear human. Not to permanently transform you of course. Only grant you the power to appear human when you want, if you wish. Not an illusion. But temporary changing your body, so no human would think you were anything else. Though even for a god, such a thing is uneasy. It would require me to, the best way to put it is, blend the three of you. Them both getting a little of you, you getting a little of both of them. Even then, the change would require something of them. Shortly after you finished taking such a form, one or both of them would have to change. At least in body, become something like you were, for an equal amount of time.” ”This was my immediate idea of how to help you three. If you do not like it, I understand, but I offer it to you in my desire to help you. And I am willing to answer any questions any of you might have about this solution, if you want to consider it.” How would Shinigami feel about the idea? Should Nymphia be pulled in? He patiently waited to see, would not be offended if the offer was declined.

Will get these mental gears going again at some point. Not enough of an expert to give much input on it. Want to hopefully let Gard and Dreams any input if they want too as well. Though yeah, I like that image. May think up a bit about Ryoko’s mom and/or some of the other ladies there who may eventually be occasional side characters (place they work will be easy enough, just taking the place from one of my other, inactive, clubs and maybe adjusting it a little).

It is a good question, others can give their thoughts on. The genre tends to lean to the darker side, and probably at least parts of the city are. But have to figure out exactly how much it applies to the entire city or not.

Did not have a chance to think of a lot yet, but going back to this, will have to see exactly how much we split them up, though yeah I could see sections like that existing. More specific places like homes, the whorehouse Ryoko grew up in or the idol agency Dai works at could show up from time to time too, among other places. It kind of feels right to keep things focused on the club, but exploring other places helps establish the setting more, give characters a chance to do things when they are not there and just widen the story/character opportunities a bit more.
