  1. There are fairly easy ways to mark sessions in a play-by-post environment. Story arc, scene, or set it to a flat passage of time (or, if you're a dickhead, number of posts). I remember now that I've heard the Final Fantasy comparison before and that's why I haven't dug into it any deeper: I have never played a Final Fantasy game.
  2. Fabula Ultima is a name I hearca lot but haven't actually dug into even a little bit. Can you give me a quick overview, @DreamsnThings?
  3. So, with the Apocalypse World debacle behind us, is there some other game we'd all like to play? What's everyone playing with their regular IRL group? At my table it's been the new edition of TMNT. Super fun if you're into 80's camp and the kind of dark humor that permeated the comics. And you're willing to play Paladium's admittedly wonky system. I've always loved it, so I'm having a great time.
  4. My phone's unlock screen. @MissKassDM me and I'll try to ruin your attention to your virtual meetings.
  5. My plate is overfilled at the moment, but PM after the weekend, by which time I'm pretty sure something will have ended one way or another. I love the Roommates idea in particular - I think there's some really fun, interesting and maybe romantic things to do with that.
  6. "Ok," I say, with a little nod, "let's get you strong and ready for the world." You're light skin begins to glow as you ride and I'm torn between attraction and jealousy. I have never felt pretty, gods how I want to be, but I'm muscular and my boobs are little. I desperately want to say I can be your friend, but it wouldn't be professional. Instead I smile, trying to look encouraging but feeling more awkward. My watch beeps, "That's two minutes, Sonia." I point to the row of light punching bags, "Let's start with the basics." I teach you the basics of punching and guide you through several minutes of short drills, letting you shake your arms out after each set. "Here," I say, my voice shaking a bit as I rub your shoulders, "it takes a little while to get used to." We work a few more minutes before I suggest we stop, "I don't think your father wants me to turn you into a fighter, so let's work on how to get away if someone grabs you." This terrifies me - it means I have to grab you. The thought of feeling you against me is electric and I can feel butterflies fluttering in my stomach. "Are you ready?" I ask, my cheeks flushed. I'm thankful for my darker complexion that helps conceal my blush. I move behind you and grab you, my chest tight, cheeks hot and words unsteady as I tell you what to do. The first time, I give the instructions slowly. One step. Let you do it until you get it right before moving on to the next. Your warmth and weight are delicious against me. And I repeat it. This time moving through the steps a little quicker.
  7. Isn't it the sHeets?
  8. Isn't he talking to Autobots when he says that?
  9. How long have Megatron and Optimus Prime been fucking?
  10. Is it death or transformation?
  11. What evidence is there, give that we started at 'too much is never enough', that excess is bad?
  12. Why is it that too much is never enough?
  13. Is that enough variety?
  14. @Warning, I apologize for handling this the way I did. I will not, however, run this game with you in it. Your contempt for me, my time and efforts to run the game properly and for all the players is clear.
  15. How could you ever choose?
  16. What are they like?
  17. Why would anyone want to know?
  18. It rewards interesting rather than easy. That's why when you roll a highlighted stat - not succeed or fail, when you attempt - you get rewarded. It's doesn't nerf what you're good it, it doesn't, necessarily, not reward you doing what your good at. What highlights do is allow the table to say, "Let's see you do ~whatever~" and hands out rewards if you choose to engage with the rest of the table. You'll figure it out with Warning's help, I'm sure. I'm off to write futa porn.
  19. Yes. That's what the rules say. When did I say You know what, fuck it. You run it.
  20. I hadn't actually decided that, and I'm supposed to go after the players, but yes. Let's see that gun bunny be sexy!
  21. Huh? In the context of your larger complaint about me being mean or not liking you, I don't like how you're approaching the rest of the game. No one asked you to leave, I asked you to play the game. There's only one of us saying, "I'm not doing that." The game is a shared conversation with boundaries and expectations and that's the fundamental agreement. You don't get to redraw the boundaries, change the rules or dictate (no matter how passive-agrrssively) the expectations.
  22. @SataiRolePlayingGuy look at her sheet. +3 hard and acts as a small gang in combat. Add to that her weapon load out (that sniper rifle with AP ammo is NASTY) Kiyo is death with a cute butt. She's a murder bunny, she really is.
  23. Lookmee was in the middle of her youth class when Sonia walked in looking stunning. She watched the newcomer make her way to the treadmill and begin her workout. Lookmee smiled at herself, shook her head and returned her focus to the kids in the beginning Muay Thai class she was teaching. Over the rest of the class Lookmee stole quick glanced at the other woman just to enjoy her beauty and keep track of where she was. When her class finished the young Nak Muay Ying congratulated her students and saw them off with generous praise and encouragement. She set off towards the new girl as she waved to a parent. When she reached the stationary bike she paused. Unexpectedly, this felt hard and awkward. She should offer to help her with her training, but Lookmee knew she was here for more personal reasons. "Uh, hi," she said, her voice feeling like it cracked, "I don't know if you remember me from yesterday - I was training in the ring over there." She turned and pointed at the ring, suddenly aware of how hot her cheeks felt. Lookmee stared at the ring for a moment. That was so much easier... Realizing she was just standing there, staring away from Soni,a Lookmee's cheeks heated more and she turned her attention back to the young woman with a short, awkward chuckle. "Uh, anyway I'm one of the instructors here." She tapped the bike, "give this another two minutes to make sure you're warmed up, and we'll get started, okay.?" Lookmee set a timer on her watch, "Let's start with the easy stuff, what are you hoping to get out of training here?" 'Please say a kind of masc girlfriend.'
  24. Then don't play. It's how the game works. The whole point is there's no fighting Kiyo. It's almost impossible for her to lose a fight. If she chooses violence, there's almost nothing anyone can do about it. We all know that. Seeing Kiyo kill shit is going to be about as surprising as things falling when you drop them. Kiyo trying NOT to choose violence is far more interesting. Every playbook has things they're not great at - Violetta is cool and hot, problem is, Go Aggro leaves people the option of fighting her. She has -1 hard. People standing hard against her is interesting, but she's actually not great at it. While we're here, Violetta, highlight hard. Being a lightning rod sometimes hurts. Here's a funny thing - by highlighting hard, Violetta is incentivised to Go Aggro, which she's good at. By picking fights, even if she loses, she marks xp. You get the xp for rolling, not succeeding. Once Violetta starts a fight, that, maybe doesn't go her way, there's shit for the rest of you to do. Maybe Kiyo shows her what a killer looks like (and fuck me if that's not some Monty Python and the Holy Grail shit. You go murder bunny!) Say I highlight hot for Kiyo and she leans into being a bunny and goes sex crazy and tries to seduce Bram (who doesn't love beefcake for breakfast?) and she misses... More fun. If she hits, how fucking cool is that? The point of the story is to be cool and interesting, not easy. By choosing to say, "My vision supercedes the game." you're really saying, "I don't care if the rest of you have fun." Look, I'm sorry if someone called you weird and it's uncomfortable for you, but that, as I tell my kids, is an iss-you. Try to think of ithe roll as supernatural in the game if that makes it easier, but the game's not wrong. It might just be the wrong game for you.
