No one really knows what the Maelstrom is. Maybe it's the screaming anguish of the dead world, maybe it's the hopes of all the people living in the grave of what used to be. Maybe it's all of our minds. What we do know is we can reach into it and sometimes it shows us things we want and how to get them. Sometimes it leaves us screaming and crying. Healing touch allows an angel to lay their bare hand on another person's skin and heal them. You roll 2d6 + weird (in your case -1) on a 6 or less bad things come from the Maelstrom, on a 7-9 you heal the person for 1 and make an "Open your Brain" move and roll. On a 10+ you heal them and connect to their brain. As you have -1 weird, I would NOT take healing touch.

Not guilty. Not a working ranch, anyway . I have tended sheep and cattle and the daily work of it is hard, but not unbearable (except sheep, fuck those suicidal curries with legs) until it gets cold and the wind picks up. Or beef prices drop.... A recreational ranch that I lounge around in a million dollar log chalet and show off my collection of rare and expensive rifles though... I could be convinced. Whichever character has the highest Hx will pick one highlight for you, then I will pick another. So, Leon: you have Jasmine's leash, tell me about where her gig was last night. Jasmine, there was someone who caught your eye in the crowd, who was it and what made you notice them. Violetta, did you go to the gig? If you did who else from your little settlement was there? If not, tell us about what the venue looks like from outside and how the settlement feels about it. Kiyo, we're you at the gig? If so who runs the venue and what are they like? If you didn't go, what were you doing while Jasmine's music thundered through sky and sand around you. Oh yeah, and did anyone see Bozzman's squeeze Yuka last night?

What's the issue with weird? The Maelstrom exists and is a kind of risky psychic resource. For the Savvyhead it's a relationship with machines.

@Warning What is it that you want your character to be about in this crumbling, urban wasteland? Let's see if we can't find a playbook that suits what you want to do. The character can look like pretty much whatever you want, so let's work on finding a playbook. @DreamsnThings as for Show vs The Skinner (or some other playbook, The Maestro D'?) What is it about either playbook that interests you?

The Show is a weird playbook. I think it's weirdness is why Lumpley didn't add it as an extended playbook to the second edition. That said, @DreamsnThings, if you want to play the show, do. If there are other playbooks from extended listings, fan content or whatever, I'm more than willing to take a look.

Hx allow the characters to help or hinder each other's dice rolls. The better you know someone the easier it is to involve yourself in their affairs. Remember, Hx is NOT how much one person likes another, it's how well they know them.

There is no requirement to be an animal but there was a lot of interest in anthro characters so I'm trying to channel the old animated film Rock & Rule. In the film humans are long gone and a new, post-human world has arisen. But this is our apocalypse. It started at Judge Dredd's Mega City One - huge, sprawling urban blight surrounded by the radlands. The radlands gave rise to mutant animals and in the collapse of the arcology new mutant animals have arisen beside the humans. Or that's how I have it framed in my mind.

@IsabellaRose, please, give us a Battlebabe - I need someone to stir up shit, and there's no one better at that than a Battlebabe.

My thought on Hx was have @DreamsnThings ask one question once that is answered,have someone who did NOT answer ask 1 question and whoever hasn't answered ask the next. Hopefully keeping everyone active.

Yes, that's exactly how Hx works - You ask a question, someone at the table may choose to answer it, and you mark Hx. Through play Hx will go up and down and when it reaches +4 you reset it to zero and gain experience. At 5 experience you choose an improvement from the ones listed on the playbook. The system is designed to push the characters together: they're the stars after all. Fury Road is at its best when Max, Furiosa and Nux are pushing each other toward action.
