  1. "Oh?" Lucy picked up on Karnis' reaction, quite keen to drill the topic further. "Got some human boy keeping you up at night, K?" she probed with a mischievous grin. She pulled herself another bottle of soda, starting to refill her cup while maintaining eye contact with her friend, then curled back up on the bed, sipping the drink and still looking at Karnis with question. Seeing the embarrassment on gazer's face, she smiled encouragingly. "No need to be coy, girl- I'm sure someone caught your eye...s?" She winked, hoping that the pun would ease the girl a little.
  2. "Oh, it sure does," Victor smiled in agreement, himself devouring spoon after spoon of the delicious dessert. "Perks of the job, hmm?" he smiled, before getting a mouthful. The werewolf wiped his lips with a handkerchief. "Tired, rather. Worked since early morning - helped the kids set up the equipment. Nothing major, but we had some technical issues." He scratched the back of his head, placing the empty plate back on the side of the table, then crossed his arms in front of his chest. "Nothing major, just burdensome - you know how it is. But - don't let me bore you with the details... Will you be joining the celebrations in the city tomorrow?" he changed the topic, raising his eyebrows in question towards the woman.
  3. Lucy coiled forward in laughter at Keya's sudden - yet not quite unexpected - reaction. "Well someone's enjoying the view," she teased through the giggle, sending a wink towards Ruben, definitely noting the vivid blush on her friend's face. She was meaning to comment on it, but Keya spoke up himself, most likely saving Rubes from some more teasing from the party-mooded slime girl. "Yuuup, as cool as your girl herself," she grinned, flicking some remaining slime residue from the bottles as the hole in her chest began to fill in. "Here's to hoping I didn't start digesting these by accident-" she murmured, clearly still joking around. Placing one of the bottles on the nearby desktop, she took the other one and looked into its neck. "Ugh, corked. Give me a claw, Keya?" she asked, holding the bottle out towards the dragon. As he handled it, she looked towards Ruben. "So, how's that laptop of yours running, Rubes? I see that architecture software is working quite smoothly," she teased, pointing out the instance of Minecraft still running on the device.
  4. "Um- yeah... more or less," Anpu answered, a bit afraid about how the demoness reacted to her confession, not really intending on embarrassing her, but at the same time rather relieved that she wasn't repulsed by it either. "Twice a year, I... for a couple weeks. I usually get a leave, but since it started so early in the semester, I- I didn't want to miss the classes-" she lowered her head slightly, the lower stack of books not really letting her hid the blush behind them. She took a deep breath, her cheeks puffing on slightly before she exhaled. She peeked to the side at Scarlet, only to find herself focused a bit too strongly at they way the oni bit her lip... The Anubis turned back towards the books, trying not to think too much on the warmth starting to gather in her loins. "I- It... umm... should... be ending soon, it- it started when I... when we- y-you know," she found herself at a loss of words. "That's- That's why I- we... umm... and why I ran afterwards... sorry... I realized- and I panicked- needed to get my pills..." she finally conveyed her train of thought.
  5. She pushed away the microphone, clicking the mute button as she did so, and turned towards the guys, grinning cheek-to-cheek. "Best feeling evah-" she chuckled, pushing one headphone off her ear. "So we should have about two minutes and twelve seconds until I need to cue the next track - how about that?" she laughed some more. "Jokes aside, I pre-scripted most of the transitions, so we should have some time for ourselves. Until I have to shift the thematic a bit. Or until the crowd starts shouting profanities at us." She stretched back on the chair, with a smug grin remaining on her lips. Now that this was done, it seemed that even Lucy's form came back to order. She was wearing her usual leather jacket - zipped all the way up, even though it was pretty warm indoors - and a set of her best, black (and also made of leather) pants, tucked into the bovver boots on her feet. And while her general appearance didn't vary too strongly from her usual, she did emanate this aura of fervor and confidence that gave her that last little boost to her looks she needed. "So," she started, beginning to unzip her top. "Time you guys found out why exactly I was late." The zipper opened, and she threw the jacket off her shoulders. She looked at her friends with an amused and still quite mysterious smile. "So- Ta-daaaa!" she exclaimed, suddenly pulling up her shirt, flashing her two... bottles of some strong spirits, lodged deep within her chest. She chuckled, unable to keep a straight face, then fell into a short, but hearty laughter. "Well, alright, now keeping the jokes aside, I thought that we could at least get something out of the fact that we're not there on the dance-floor. Anybody got glasses?" she asked, pushing out the bottles out into her hands. "Lance said he'd be dropping in later with some of his own stock, so we should be set for the night. We just need to keep it out of sight 'case someone checks up on us."
  6. "Oh, you'll see why in due time," Lucy smirked, keeping the mystery of her journey up. She walked up where they moved the equipment, taking a moment to appreciate the set-up, her fingers running by the cold metal edge of the mixer. Edgar wasn't lying - the former A/V club really had some good equipment - and Lucy couldn't wait to put it to action. She pulled herself a chair, placing her laptop in front of her, plugging it into the machinery before opening up the screen. She grinned widely as the notifications informed her of the new hardware, and stretched her arms in front of her, getting ready for the show. Her gaze went towards her friends. "So, how about we get this party started?" she asked - not really waiting for an answer. With a few quick movements, she brought up the interface, put on a set of headphones - her own, that she brought earlier this morning, and which, with a slow "plump", sunk into her head - and finally placed her hands on the mixer, with a skilled motion slowing down the turntable. The "elevator music" started slowing down, but she made sure to let the beat keep going at the same rate - as the melody eventually halted to a stop. With a flick of a switch, she turned off the few spotlights they had illuminating the hall until now. Her eyes went to the monitor, quickly pulling up a folder she had prepared beforehand. She dragged a couple files onto the virtual interface, assigning them to different keys and disks on the soundboard. She pressed two of them. "Initiating system override," a synthetic female voice announced in her headphones. Simultaneously, the reflectors in the hall were brought down to the ground, lighting up with a pale green light. Her hand went to the console, turning the bass slightly up, as with a press of a button, a synthesizer came in. The lights started to very slowly rise up, stopping a few inches higher. She thumbed another few buttons. "System override complete. welcome: DJ LRK." announced the prerecorded voice, and Lucy smiled. "Now, quiet," she instructed to her friends, pulling down the microphone. The video projectors started came to life. "Goood evening, Ironclaw, and welcome~!" the slime-girl exclaims into the mic. "Are you having a good time? Well, buckle up, because it's about to get even better. What do you say we get this party starteeeeeeed?" [[ See it live :p ]]
  7. ============================== DJ's interlude ============================== The music that has been playing so far - a calm, but nevertheless dynamic "stand-by" music - begins to suddenly slow down, it's tone distorting into the lower notes. In a couple seconds it completely stops, leaving only the beat going at the same steady pace that it's always been, and the lights go out, covering the room in darkness. "Initiating system override," a synthetic female voice announces. The spotlights, strategically deployed across the room come to life, covering the floor in a light green hue, and slowly rising up, as a synthesizer resounds in the background, aided by the beat backdrop. The lights flicker red two times, before the voice announces: "System override complete. Welcome: DJ LRK." For the first time, projectors hanging in the middle of the hall light up, casting the same stylized image onto all surrounding walls. "Good evening, Ironclaw, and welcome!" Lucy's enthusiastic voice can be heard through the speakers. the beat accentuating her words as she speaks. "Are you having a good time? Well, buckle up, because it's about to get even better. What do you say we get this party starteeeeeeed?" her voice booms through the speakers, the lights flickering as her voice carries on. A set of drums strike twice, in the rhythm of the beat, and the spotlights go towards the ceiling. "Starting in Ten- Nine- Eight-..." resounds, with every following number, the drums striking down again. "Three- Two- One- One... one... one..." the voice's synthetic echo resounds for a few seconds more as a quick-paced EDM track comes into play, the reflectors turning down towards the dance-floor. ======================================================================
  8. "Of course! And I already know you, so no need to worry about introductions!" the Anubis smiled, letting out a short chuckle. Her shoulders instinctively went up a bit at the messy headpat, her ears shifting between the demon's fingers, enjoying the playful affection. "Mmmh- Sure! The library's large, it's not hard to find a private spot," she affirmed, throwing her head to the side, trying to flick the hair that landed on her face away. She looked from the side at the girl. "Oh, you mean like-" Anpu stopped for a second, both in speech and in her movement. Her face went all red, becoming almost comparable to the oni's natural skin hue. "I- well.. Y-yeah" She found herself concurring finally, resuming her movement. Well, they were friends, and the time they spent together was quite nice, so... why not? "Oh, I've been... umm... recently- more than usual, you know?" she stated, realizing that she never actually told the demon about the... condition she was in.
  9. "Yeah- I can understand that," Anpu nodded in agreement, her ears perking back up, glad to hear she wasn't the only one avoiding the event. "They're always so loud," she asserted, with slight irritation in her voice. She had nothing against parties - as long as they were comfortably far away from her. The fact that she could hear the bass from the Assembly Hall even in the library definitely didn't make it comfortable. She smiled at Scarlet's notion of visiting the library, and the comment about reading. Part of her had expected that Scarlet would have given up on it already, so hearing her state otherwise was really uplifting for Anpu. "You're always welcome!" she affirmed confidently, "I could even help you study if you're around. It's much easier to find focus in the library." Her tail gave a strong happy wave at Scarlet's following words. They made her really want to go and give the demoness a big hug, were it not for the pile of books they both still had in their hands. "Thanks, Scarlet," she just responded, having to settle on words instead. "I'm... I'm glad that you're my friend." The Anubis pinned her eyes into the books, feeling her cheeks redden with even that simple statement.
  10. "Oh-ough- I- I'm-so-so-sorry-" Anpu pleaded hectically, her hand slipping on a book as she tried to gather herself up, her eyes still having trouble to focus from the sudden change of altitude. She finally managed to push herself upwards, sitting up on the floor, still supporting herself on the floor with one arm. "I- didn't expect you- I thought everybody would be at the party!" she quickly explained herself, blinking a few times, trying to focus her gaze on the girl. "-are you alright?" she queried soon after, blushing as her eyes finally caught a clear image of Scarlet's face and the barely-visible flush on the girl's own cheeks. It brought back some memories... She turned to the scattered books, trying to gather them, only to see how much more effective Scarlet was at that job. "Thanks..." she smiled, managing to get herself completely up before reaching for the book-stack. "I'm getting these to the library - we had a shipment a while back, and I could never find a moment to finally move these out of storage- But- I wouldn't want to hold you up - with... umm, the dance and all going on, I imagine you're pretty busy-" she expressed, her ears moving to the sides of her head in embarrassment.
  11. Oh, I mean your last post directly addresses that, doesn't it? I can try to work with that if you'd prefer, I was just slightly confused.
  12. Why are we speaking in questions? I mean, I presumed that's what you meant by "retconning" it. Hard for me to see another way to do that - is there one?
  13. You just mentioned that you want to retcon it?
  14. Works for me, gimmie a ping when it's my turn ^^
  15. @JennyDK Victor has been holding out a plate of cake to Isabella since the first post.
  16. A pile of books suddenly emerged from within the corridor. It bounced up and down in a rather unstable structure, in a surprisingly rapid fashion approaching the stretching demon. Only when it got a bit closer could one notice that from behind the strangely mobile stack of literature protruded a pair of black canine ears, attentively perked up. which, combined with the two darkly furred legs tenaciously treading underneath them, made for a pretty convincing image of a certain Anubis girl rushing through the hallway with a disproportionately large mound of hardback publications in her paws. Once that would have been recognized though, it would have already been too late, as, by that point, said girl would have already peaked from behind the literary tower, her attention attracted by the sound of some strange groaning in front of her, widened her eyes at the unexpected sight of a muscular demoness, mumbled "Scarlet~?!", and, in a truly acrobatic fashion, completely lost her footing, pushing twelve tomes of 15th edition Encyclopædia Britannica straight onto the unsuspecting girl. @OlrukTheSmall
  17. Her response brought out a chuckle in Victor. "Well, excuse me, Ms. Scopelli, for that faux pas of mine," he lowered his head in a half-mock, half-serious bow. "I hope my humble offering can make up for it." He straightened up still with some playfulness in his eyes. "I've... been around. Things are pretty quiet so far - they got some music going, but I think we're still waiting on the actual DJ to show up. I'd be heading home, but I think Veronica wants all hands on deck for the party - so I've decided I may as well check in on how you're doing." He raised a spoonful of cake to his mouth, for a moment giving the dessert his complete attention.
  18. I'll be claiming the spot for the first Page 100 post, thank you very much #Edit - dammit, I got beat to it T-T
  19. No harm done Thanks for the clarification!
  20. For heaven's sake, I'm not trying to start a discussion, I'm trying to make sure that the scene I'm planning will make sense. There's no reason for my character smuggling alcohol if it's literally standing there for the taking on the tables. I really don't care what your views on alcohol are.
  21. Welp, interesting, in Poland stuff like that would never pass. Also, with humans attending Ironclaw too (and it being generally in the human world), doesn't feel like "monster culture" would have much to say about that, but I do get the general idea. So I assume it's just low-percentage stuff, right? I can still illegally smuggle stronger stuff?
  22. Can someone clarify for me - is drinking alcohol on school grounds just plain out allowed in Ironclaw? I was planning on having Lucy smuggle some into the backstage, but now I see that people are just drinking beer in the Assembly Hall and I'm a bit confused. Wouldn't that be prohibited? Since, y'know, we are a school after all, and we shouldn't be encouraging stuff like that.
  23. "I see you're taking your duties very seriously, Isa," @JennyDK a nearby voice sounded out, followed by the sight of Victor's face smirking widely in amusement. "That cake is not escaping your watch, that's for sure!" he laughed heartily, grabbing two plates from a nearby pile and getting some cake on both of them. He handed one towards Isabella and leaned back against the table. As always, his apparel consisted of his trusty (and quite worn-out at this point in time) leather coat, combined with a hastily fastened pale shirt underneath, and a messy tie to finish it all off - the accessory this time bearing a slightly stronger blue tone, which Victor felt would match the "party" atmosphere of the event better than the usual darker ties he wore. "I take it everything's going well so far?" he asked, passing a dessert spoon to his colleague.
  24. Not at all! Preferably sometime later in the scene thought, if you don't mind - after things develop a bit ^^
  25. [[ D-d-d-double scene! Misty x Edgar @Thatannoyinggod]] It indeed seemed that the day would resolve in a peaceful and enjoyable manner. With the matter of music resolved, everything appeared to have slowly fallen into its right place, leaving the headmaster in a sense of security and satisfaction of a matter well-resolved. Well, at least that's how Misty imagined it must have been. And oh boy, would she be having none of it! "Goooooood-morning, Mr. Headmst'r!" a joyful and exhilarated voice resonated loud and clear just from behind Edgar's comfortable chair. Or rather - from within the chair. And only few moments after, the petite figure of a half-transparent girl shot from there towards the ceiling, a chill wind around her launching any papers that may have been lying on the nearby desk into the air alongside her. She disappeared into the ceiling, leaving the sheets to slowly rain down, swaying from side to side in their descent, before a dark-haired, widely-grinning head popped down a few meters further, its two red eyes pointed curiously, at the headmaster from their upside-down perspective. "Soooo- I'm hearing we be havin' a party?" she asked, tilting her head sideways as she looked at the man. "Y'sir comin'? Wouldn't be the same withoutcha!" She grinned her set of pure-white teeth widely. Her gaze focused on the documents slowly falling on the floor. "Uhh- Sorry for the breeze, headmst'r, came by accident-" she affirmed with an unusual for her degree of sincerity.
