1st year classroom
Icarian Dreams replied to JennyDK's topic in Monster Academy's School and city areas.
Despite trying to remove herself from the conversation, Misty can't resist herself, as she hears the manticore girl @JennyDKinsult them. She waits for Amelia @OlrukTheSmall to finish her thought, before she picks up. "And with that attitude, you're not invited!" Why did the wolf-boy @Thatannoyinggod even bother waking her up? She clearly wasn't going to bring anything worthwhile to the conversation. She backed herself a bit to a corner, sending a last murderous stare towards the girl, before moving her gaze elsewhere. It happened to stop at the zombie-girl Hiro @Godot seemed to fancy so much. Misty sighed, and flew towards the girl. At this point, having her just sit there, listening seemed worse than having her in the conversation. She addressed her. "He-ey, Yoko, right? Wanna join us? We're talking... well a lot of stuff." -
"I don't know who picks the required readings. They always pick the most boring stuff." Anpu starts, as the topic touches something she's clearly given much thought in the past. She seems reassured by the Oni's explaination, as she rests her head on Scarlet's shoulder, her fluffy ears grazing the demon's cheek. She closes her eyes, speaking out softly. "They really should start with something easier. How are they going to convince people to read if the first thing they throw at them is a hundreds-of-pages long tome, written in a language no-one really uses anymore..." She rants in a quiet, voice, the feeling of Scarlet's shoulder keeping her calm and comfy. Her hand moves, delicately caressing the girl's toned muscles. She seems completely oblivious to the demon's struggle, so far simply enjoying the joys of a peaceful conversation.

@Godot I see Hiro's starting to embrace his new harem -
"Oooh! Remember about the strawberries!" She exclaimed mysteriously, her back turned to Scarlet as she examined the room. She found her eyes unwillingly returning to the surrounding posters. "You have a very... nice room." The Anubis girl mentioned, making her way towards the demon's bed. She took a seat on the firm mattress, making it distort slightly under her weight, her tail curving around her body. She looked at Scarlet, and seeing how the demon looked a bit off, she got worried. "Is everything alright?" Her gaze followed Scarlet's, unsure what exactly to look for. "You look a bit concerned."

The ghost-girl averted her gaze from the boy @Godot for a few seconds longer. "Of course you aren't lovebirds. I never thought you were. W-what a dumb idea." She muttered, as the storm slowly died around her. "N-not that I would mind. You can be lovebirds w-with anyone you want to!" She felt her voice rise again, but managed to calm it down. "I just thought that Amelia's idea was exciting. That's all." She raised her eyes to meet Hiro's, a deep blush adorning her face. She felt like falling to the ground, but she managed to keep herself afloat under the human's gaze. Hoping to quickly move on from the incident, she asked: "Now, what were we talking about?" -
The hug took Anpu by surprise, but she gladly embraced the four-armed Oni, unconsciously pushing her head into the demon's impressive bust. Released from the hug, she stumbled a bit backwards, but managed to steady herself, holding onto the door's frame. Her eyes scanned the room, making her cheeks blush as they went over the tightly-dressed figures that decorated the walls. "I'm glad you enjoy it!" She said, as she entered the room, stopping herself from picking up a pair of panties she spotted near Scarlet's bed. As she gazed over the mountain of clothes in the corner of the room, she came to the conclusion that it wouldn't help much anyways. "Did... Jasmine meet Rebecca already?" She asked, trying to recall the contents of the book. In deep thought, she slowly followed the Oni into the room.
-
"Woah, I- You're a really fast reader!" The voice on the other side sounded genuinely impressed. "I'll be there in-" There was a short moment of silence, as Anpu checked the hour. "About three minutes" She finished. Having memorized the exact times it tended to take her to get from the dorms to the library and her classes, the estimate was quite precise. "See you then!" She waited for an answer before hanging up. And fair enough, in exactly three minutes and four seconds, three short knocks could be heard on Scarlet's door. "Hey Scarlet, it's me!" A muffled voice resounded from behind the door.

Still not quite aware of what's going on with her, Atmer's @Thatannoyinggodremark took her by surprise. "Hmm? Of course I'm fin-YOU TWO WERE LOVEBIRDS?" Her shout resonated through the class, easily interrupting the teacher's @Solomon remark, as what previously was a breeze turned into practically a small storm. Her hair and clothing seemed to flow in every possible direction, as her eyes blazed with crimson. The flower on her head not only turned completely red, but in the storm also seemed to start to lose some petals, which started whirling around the ghost girl. Realizing what she just did, Misty hangs for a second in silence, flabbergasted by her own outburst, as a storm of red petals flies around her. She hadn't even noticed when she flew higher up, as if her shout wasn't enough to put her on the spot. In silence she hovered down, unamused expression on her face, as the flower started to reshape back on her head, not at all losing its color. She adjusted her clothing, letting the storm die a bit. "That's fine, I don't mind-" She said, acting as if nothing of what just occured really happened. Showing how much she didn't care, she purposefully avoided @Godot Hiro's gaze. -

@Godot Mind if I chime in for this message before you do? Also, thank you very much for the call out, it seriously means a lot to me! -
"Oh~" The voice on the other side sounded a bit flustered. "I just felt like chatting with you a bit. I'm happy you're enjoying the book! How far in are you?" She asked, relieved that her recommendation didn't miss the mark. A moment of silence falls before the voice picks up again. "I'm headed for my dorm now, I- I could drop in. If you'd want to, of course!" She proposed, unsure how Scarlet would react.
-
A soft, quiet voice of a young Anubis sounded through the speaker. "Hey Scarlet! It's Anpu, from earlier today. I just left the library for the day, so I thought I'd call. I-I hope it's not too soon?" There was a slight tremble in Anpu's voice as she hoped that she hadn't dissuaded the Oni. She didn't tend to speak too much through phone, and outside of the library, she felt even more unsure about social interactions. Moreso, even through the device, she sensed a tone of annoyance in Scarlet's voice. "I-I could call later if you prefered."

I'm not sure if it's just me, but the last part of formatting in my message didn't seem to apply. I'll keep it that way though, unexpectingly adds character to the message lol @Multiversal What's stopping you from starting the second year orientation? Both 1st and 3rd years are in action, it only makes sense that they would be simultanous. -
Finding the worst (or the best) possible moment to do so, a vibriting sound of a phone ringing resonated through the room. Not getting answered immediately, it repeated its low buzz, intent on making interruptions if not answered or turned off.

Misty was glad that her joke about the mirror got such a good reception, but at this point was a bit embarassed to admit that she couldn't actually do it. Not yet at least. She was hoping she would learn to do so in the magic classes, but wasn't certain how long that would actually take. Still, she decided not to correct them. After all, they wouldn't really do it, right? Chanting "Misty, Misty, Misty" into their mirrors wasn't really something she imagined people doing. Sounded more like calling a dog rather than trying to invoke a ghost. Owning the unclearness of her words, she dove a bit into the bullshit. "Well, the ritual is a bit more complicated than just that. Aaand it's not like my name is a popular thing to shout into mirrors. Thanks for asking though!" She responded to Atmer @Thatannoyinggod and the rest of the group. She turned to Amelia @OlrukTheSmall, hearing her proposition. "Oooh, that's an a-we-some idea!" She spells out, genuinely excited. Possessing people was so much fun! Few really let her do that, so she was always down to try. "I inherit most tastes from the person I possess. So if we just eat what you enjoy, we'll be al-rite!" There was a visible shift in the ghost-girl's posture, as the zombie-girl was mentioned. She didn't realize it, but when Hiro @Godot turned towards Yoko @JennyDK, her form turned slightly, her hair becoming messier, her clothing slightly more tattered. Even the flower in her hair, previously almost purely white, started to redden on the edges. Despite the stillness in the air, it seemed as if Misty herself was in some sort of a self-contained breeze, blowing her apparel and hair ever so slightly. "Indeed, you were about to discuss something." She said, deciding that a change of topic would be best. Her tone was colder than before. -

The ghost girl gave Atmer a "don't even get me started" look. Amelia's proposition took her aback a little. She didn't take the tentacle monster as a party girl. When she mentioned cake and board games, however, it seemed more adequate to her personality. Didn't sound like much fun though. Well board games weren't half-bad, but Misty had no clue what she would do with a cake. She could possess one, but there were only so many things you could do as a piece of food. The human-boy's idea to hang around a city sounded much more interesting. "I know a great board game place downtown! I don't think they sell cake, but I'm sure they won't mind if we bring some along!" Things were shaping up better than she expected. It seemed that Hiro was warming up to her. Ha! The zombie girl easily couldn't compete with Misty's charms! But she had to be careful. Even a slight lapse in her workings could bring the other undead girl back into the equation. She smiled at the human's concerns. "Not at all! 'tis quite fun actually. Oh, did you know I can possess things? It's a great party trick!" She went on to showcase her abilities by turning into the table, loudly shaking it up for a moment, before appearing on the other side. In a backstroke motion, she swimmed in the air back to the group, landing in a piruette. The sly grin reappeared on her face. "I'm sure I can show you other uses later!" She winked. Once everybody's attention turned towards exchanging numbers, she seemed to get perplexed. "Weeeeell. I don't really have a phone. But chant my name three times before mirror and just maybe I'll appear!" She giggled, quickly returning to her joyful self. "Do you guys have any plans for after this lesson? Headmstr's said there's gonna be a celebration, but I was thinking we could scram. Go exploring or some shi- or something." She corrected, not wanting to discourage Hiro to herself. She had an impression that the boy wasn't used to profanities. -

While she had joined the group from rather different reasons, Misty quickly found herself quite engaged in the topic of classes as well. She listened to Amelia @OlrukTheSmall carefully. "Don't forget human biology! Oh, and monster biology for Hiro obviously. You'll have to let me know when you reach ghosts!" She addressed the boy, winking at him playfully. "I don't think you'll learn much though. Our physicality is quite... transparent." A sly grin appeared on her face, her crimson eyes sparkling happily. She wondered if monsters could also take monster biology and society classes. With so many diverse monsters around, she felt like everyone could use these. On the downside it meant more studying - which Misty didn't necessarily enjoy. On the upside, she would be spending more time with the humans... Misty blushed. Hiro @Godot was so adorable when he was nervous. N-not that it mattered obviously. Just stating a fact. "Did 'nyone hear what sports are there available? I really don't fancy running around in some stupid doll again..." She reminisced her adventure at the courtyard. She certainly didn't regret it, but in the future, she hoped to avoid the unpleasant conequences. The ghost girl seemed to take that last statement personally. "Oh, I'm looking forward to spending more time with you too! You'll have to tell me everything about being human!" -

Her face darkened as she heard her name spoken by the wolf-boy @Thatannoyinggod behind her. I wasn't talking to you, dummy. Then the rest of the classed seemed to circle in. Oh for heavens' sake. "Well, nice to meet you, Hiro!" @Godot She exclaimed, desperate to be the first one to catch his attention. As he finished speaking, she turned to the rest of the group. "Hear? Stop making Hiro nervous!" She didn't give them much mind, instantly turning back to the human. "Soooo... how are you liking it here, Hiro?" She asked, adjusting her black hair as she smiled warmly to the boy. She flew slightly closer, trying to make the conversation more individual. -

Finishing the last parts of her murderous plan, Misty grinned devilishly. And that's how in 34 simple steps she was going to get him to not- wait. She blinked a few times. The human just waved and smiled at her. Her mind went blank. Shit, she didn't plan for that. What should she do? What do the humans do when someone waves and smiles at them? She couldn't remember. Should she faint? Maybe now she should act like she ignores him? Unsure of what the right answer is, she just blushed and smiled back. She hovered for a moment in place, stunned, as the rest of the class began to stand up. She shook her head, bringing herself back from the stupor. She should talk to him now, right? Why did everything suddenly become so difficult? She noticed the tentacle girl start making her way towards the boy. Oh no, no, no. But she fell down! Had Misty had a heart, it would surely jump, as her way was now clear. She gracefully flew over the compromised girl. "Heeeey!" She approached the perplexed human @Godot, her transparent cheeks a bit more opacious with a dark blush. She seemed to completely ignore the scene happening practically behind her back. "I'm Misty!" -

Misty was half-sure that the human-boy @Godot was purposefully avoiding her gaze. Hopefully she was just being paranoid. Can ghosts be paranoid? She's gonna have to ask... someone... later. Ugh. Why was he looking at the zombie girl so much? Misty's mind started to wander. Is it really murder if your target is already technically dead? She's gonna have to ask that too. Preferably to someone else. She examined the human's movements carefully. It wasn't an easy task, given he was seated in the first rows of the desks, while Misty was in the far back (mental note: deal with that later), but Misty made sure to do her best. He seemed to examine the class. He even stopped to look at the tentacle-girls. Did he really not look at her? The ghost girl felt her cheeks darken. Well, she was not going to leave this at that. She was going to get noticed. She couldn't be bested by a girl with some... flesh hanging around her bones! It was a matter of honor. But not yet. She needed a plan. Her ears half-caught something that was going on in the class. Some talk about the student council. She thought about it for a moment, but dismissed the idea. It seemed like too much work for too little reward. -

If @JennyDK you're referring to Victor knowing the triplets' abilities, I made that choice because I had an (aparently wrong) memory of someone mentioning that teachers have a list of monsters' abilities. I think I somehow confused it with Edgar having a list of all new students. This one is my bad. Nevertheless, I think it makes sense, seeing how a) They are on their third year, meaning someone would easily sniff up something sooner or later and b) Telepathy is not exactly a 'private' ability. If they go around using it on pretty much everybody, word is gonna spread out. If it's my actions we're talking about, then I stand by my word, and if a similar situation arises in the future, please just let me know in EcchiChat or via Direct Messages. If it's not about me, then sorry for interrupting, but I wanted to make sure I'm not a part of a conflict I wasn't aware of. -

Anpu gladly hops into Scarlet's embrace, making it a few seconds longer than the girl maybe anticipated. She helps the demon pick up her books, while making a mental note to go outside and visit the girl sometimes. Her ears perk up as her new friend seems to have a new proposition. "Ooooh, that's a great idea!" The wolf-girl exclaims excitedly. She quickly starts patting down her pockets in search of her phone. Once they're finished swapping numbers, Anpu jumps back behind the desk, giving the Oni a goodbye smile. "Catch you later!" Once Scarlet is gone, she turns towards Myrddin @SymbioteSliver. Last she checked, he appeared to have been napping - something he tended to endulge in quite often - but after his recent remarks about how he knew she was studying magic in secret, she didn't really trust his closed eyes... Well, hopefully he didn't see her interaction with the Oni. Knowing Myrddin, he would likely scold her for not giving Scarlet something more ambitious. Anpu, was, however, of an opinion that starting with the massive tomes of the so-called 'classics' can be quite discouraging. She made her way back towards the center of the room. After all, here waited the ancient tome of rituals! The thrill of potentially learning some long-forgotten secrets or incantations took over her mind. She opened the tome carefully, making sure that she doesn't damage the pages. The protective spell she cast around it seemed to hold well, but extra caution never hurt. As she read the first verse, she groaned quietly, and opened the translation. It was ages since she last used Ancient. -

Having gotten past her initial embarassment, Anpu happily shook one of the demoness' many hands, with a grip much stronger than one would expect from a figure as lithe as she was. She already forgot about the incident with the headmistress, joyful to have made a new friend. Being called 'interesting' was also quite heartwarming for the young Anubis. "You're really nice, you know it, Scarlet? Most people look at me weirdly or even aggressively when I recommend them a book... Thank you for not being like that." She smiled widely, her tail wagging rapidly. "If the book isn't quite to your liking, I can find you something else later. I'm here pretty much every break, and most of the time after school too!"
