Minorikawa's Shiny New Concept Consortium
WickedCadrach commented on Minorikawa's bulletin post in Private Roleplayers Bulletin Board
I'm really enjoying your Paradise of Flesh and Chrome story—just really fantastic pacing and description. Thanks for sharing! My commitments are piling up a little at the moment, but I think we could write some really fun SciFi - Fantasy together, so I hope you stick around and we can do something in the future- 10 comments

Awesome! Then I'll just highlight a few other things for the character creation flow to hopefully help. Aspects The phrases I've talked about (High Concept and Trouble) are part of your character's Aspects. These are elements of your character that can be called out to give you bonuses on rolls, or called out by the GM against you for penalties. After you have a High Concept and Trouble, you want to think about your character's backstory. The First Adventure is the third Aspect your character gets. For my character, I wrote a small paragraph about how she saw her family and home destroyed and was injured in the attack that led to her being rescued by the Liberation Union. Her 'First Adventure' Aspect is "These Scars spell, Never Again" to highlight how her experiences and trauma allow her to dig deep and fight harder if she sees similar tragedies about to unfold. You don't need to worry about Second and Third Adventure Aspects for this game. The Gear Aspects are qualities connected to your characters Mech or BioFrame. You can see the discussion on that in the OOC thread. But basically anything that sounds cool is fair game here if it fits the aesthetic of a giant cyborg robot your character pilots. Skills You from the top post in the OOC thread you can see the skills. Basically, you pick 4 skills to get a +1 bonus, 3 skills to get a +2 bonus, 2 skills to get a +3 bonus, and 1 skill to get a +4 bonus. Stunts / Extras Don't worry about them for char creation. As you play, you might get offered a Stunt by the GM or think of one you want to suggest. Basically, they are specializations that make your character a little stronger or more capable in particular circumstances.

Hi and welcome! So we have a small FATE game going right now if you're interested in trying it out, but it is kind of weird . You can read the RP going so far in the Liberation Union Mobile Firebase Delta Foxtrot thread in Roleplays. Our OOC thread is in Discussion under FATE of the Liberation Union Strike Team. I'm happy to lend a hand if you'd like to try jumping in! You don't have to use this character sheet, but I find it helpful to look at one when I'm learning a game. Here's a blank Char Sheet you can copy from GoogleDrive. Here's the Char Sheet for my character, Emily 'Patches' Kehrer. The basic thrust of Fate is that it's very narrative driven. How you describe your character impacts what they're good at as much as the skills you pick for them. You can read the public rules here and in the Discussion thread I linked earlier, we do go over some character creation stuff that might help. But to get started you want a High Concept and a Trouble for your character. Basically, a phrase that summarizes what your character is about and a phrase that highlights their biggest flaw or obstacle in their life. For my character, I gave her the High Concept of "Silicon-hearted Mech-Hacker". I didn't pull it from a list or anything, I just wrote what felt right and captured my big idea about who/what she is. For her Trouble, I wrote "Staying Alive, One Pill at a Time" to capture how she's so broken from the fighting she's done that she's only staying strong by dosing herself with medication. This fits for Trouble because it creates an inconvenient need for my character that can be used against her. That's a good starting point, and like I said there's more in the docs, but if you feel like replying here or DMing me in EcchiText, feel free! I'll be around and happy to help. (And if you take a peek at our game and decide it's too weird or wild or anything, no worries We'd love to have you, I just wasn't sure how much you'd looked at so far)

I am. I know Dreams has been busy, but she said she was taking the XP for Robin's temptation to just leave right away and go to the party. I hate to rush anyone, but if people are ready to roll on, maybe we could flashback in Velvet's reaction after @roll to seduce sets the party scene and gives a road for Selene and Dylan to join?

Not Guilty. If my playlist jumps tone too abruptly, I will lose twenty minutes of work fixing it, The next person has a playlist for enhancing sexy times (sexy times with just yourself counts too).

What was the last song you listened on repeat?

A single song? Honestly, probably this. (Video strobing between 2:55-3:00 and 3:40-3:45) -
Monsterhearts: The Summer Folk
WickedCadrach replied to roll to seduce's topic in TTRPG Club's Roleplays
"Hey... Velvet," Robin's eyebrows drew together in concern and she reached out, taking the pretty goth girl by the hand and squeezing her fingers gently. "You seem worried." Her gaze danced between the colonial house and Velvet's dark eyeshadow. While her friend had sounded wistful at first, there was a faltering in her tone, a painted-on artifice to her small, wry laugh that made Robin's stomach twist. "Your dad's friends aren't good people are they...?" Robin said softly, following the thread Velvet had laid out in her warning. Her thumb traced over Velvet's and she could feel the conflict radiating off of her. But something had brought her here. Something had made Velvet want to bring Robin to this place in spite of her concern. Maybe the accessory she mentioned... the one she wanted Robin to wear... maybe something else, something to do with what they'd shared tonight? "Just because we drove here doesn't mean we have to go inside," Robin said then, one hand still holding Velvet's, the other fingering the silver cross around her neck. "What if we just went to the party? I... I mean, we could stay until your dad's friends left, right? Even if they stayed late, we could stay out later. We could stay out all night—right up until sunrise if we wanted." The warning in Robin's heart was making her speech come out a little quicker, her voice lower... not quite a whisper, but soft... as if the house might overhear if she spoke too loud. No, as if the house might take her friend away if it heard her. "Please?" she said, the word breaking in the middle as she said it. "I want to dance with you. I want boys to pick us up by the pool and for people to see us... I want to have fun with you tonight. Please? Velvet?" -
My first instinct is that Robin is picking up how uncomfortable Velvet is here and, particularly with the warning she gives, Robin would probably try to give her an out to get away—likely just going to the party. If Velvet seems afraid there will be a consequence for not going in, Robin isn't just going to let her friend face that alone and would go in with her. But at least for the moment, I don't think Velvet's given Robin a reason to think that's the case. Her actions and words seem to signal to Robin that she wants to go in but she's scared what might happen to either of them if she does. I'll write out my reply, but just wanted to give a heads up where my head was at

Not Guilty. Been there, and it's fun until it's not. The next person prefers edibles to alcohol.

Monsterhearts: The Summer Folk
WickedCadrach replied to roll to seduce's topic in TTRPG Club's Roleplays
As Velvet's pink jeep jangled over the rougher roads of the hill, Robin's fingers tugged at the zipper of the white micro-jacket Velvet had picked out for her. Her exposed legs felt strange against the bare seat, tingly and naked in a way she still wasn't used to. She tried to speak, but each time, she felt the uncertainty of the new situation choke her. Was it rude to ask what Velvet needed to pick up? Her friend hadn't volunteered the information, and there was a tension in the air that whispered to Robin that it was something uncomfortable—a tension that made her already disorganized thoughts feel even more scattered. Maybe she's on some kind of medication and just doesn't want to get into it? I mean, I really shouldn't pry, right? Does she live up here? I want to hold her hand. Is it weird if I try to hold her hand while she's driving? What are we? I liked kissing Velvet, but I still can't get Derek... or Dylan... out of my mind... Why is this so confusing? This last thought came as the jeep rounded a curve in the road and revealed the pulsing lights of Derek's beach house party, the smaller glimmer of his pool feeling like a droplet next to the vast, dark wash of the sea beyond. But it was soon pushed aside as the car slipped into park. And on the other side sat the colonial manor house. "I've seen this place from below," Robin said, her voice coming out half-a-whisper though she couldn't say why. "I see it when I walk home from Playland. I didn't know anyone actually lived up here though. Is-Is this your house?" Robin asked, hurriedly adding, "It's... um, lovely. Dignified." In truth, there was something about the place that reminded her of the old wooden churches back home, not the modern ones her family had always attended... the ones on backroads and old rural routes... the kind that sat so dark and lonely that their services may have only been attended by ghosts listening to the echoes of sermons that were no longer spoken. It reminded her of the house Dylan lived in all alone—maybe that's why she was drawn to it. It made her think of Dylan again, his dark eyes full of mystery and longing. But where his home had the quiet, dead feeling of an empty shell, the silent colonial house did not seem quite deceased. No, it felt to Robin like it was holding its breath, lying in wait... watching her through dark windows. "Sh-should I wait here for you?" Robin asked, swallowing, her pale eyes never leaving the home's facade as she quietly asked the question. -
That's really flattering, and I kind of love you for saying that, but please don't feel any pressure! I really enjoy your character work and want you to be able to enjoy the game even when you're feeling low energy ❤ (I know time is sometimes just a beast in its own right though)

Nonstop? Not guilty. I have played all-day games of Twilight Imperium before. We all had breakfast together and played until lunch, then took an hour for lunch and finished in time for a late dinner. I think we probably played about 12 hours or so, but not nonstop and at a leisurely pace. The next person has played in some kind of official game tournament (videogame or boardgame and an actual event, not just a friend's Mario-kart tournament in their basement)

As Patune stole the kaiju's attention, Emily let out a cry of feral triumph. The hack had worked—she had control of the drone. "Patches to Ya, we have the cockroach on a string. Seizing the broadcast." As Scylla's tentacle coiled and stroked inside her, sparking the sensitive nerves of Emily's pussy in lightning that traced through her limbs, the mech-pilot rocked back in the cockpit, her feet sinking forward as her head pulled back toward a sound sensitive nodule in the dark ceiling of glistening, bumpy flesh above her. She felt the delicious ache of being stretched as her BioFrame took her triumphant ecstasy as encouragement, and the thick line of the tendril moving under Emily's fatigues vibrated as it settled into a pulsing rhythm that ran counter-point to the thin black tendril throbbing and sucking Emily's swollen clit off her body. All of this meant that as Emily opened the channel to the drone's broadcast, the first sound that rolled out was the cracked moan of her pleasure, followed by a rough chuckle, and finally her spoken words. "Brothers and sisters, this morning the Hive attempted to feed you another lie. They marched citizens, men and women like yourselves, into a death trap. Intent on blaming the Liberation Union for the tragedy. As you can see, we did not allow that." Sweeping the drone camera, Emily felt the dizzying pleasure of Scylla's coils around her breasts kneading her fit body, kissing her with hot neurofluid-wet kisses of folded dark flesh. She felt as if she was floating in the cockpit, her body climbing as she shared her senses three ways between the drone's high camera, Scylla's esoteric sensor array, and her own overwrought and stimulated body inside the flesh cavern of the BioFrame's cockpit. "We are fighting to save you, to free you. And we will not stop. You are not their tools. You exist. You m-matter!" Her eyes squeezing shut, Emily's dark hair flowed in an arc as she threw her head back and felt the strands of her ponytail sticking to her own sweat and neurofluid-streaked neck, the rest clinging in the writhing nest of Scylla's inner appendages. //Not sure if/what to roll here. Just trying to make the best use of this drone before they cut the transmission or shoot it down.//

Guilty. I do have a poster... two technically—only one hanging up though. I bought it off of a local game store after they were hit with a lawsuit that forced them to auction off everything and close. They were very good to me, and I was sad that I couldn't do more (the whole thing felt like a funeral where you auction off the deceased's possessions... while they watch you... just a very weird mix of being super sad and 'wow, that's a great deal on a copy of Ogre'. ) The next person has played a board game (not a tabletop rpg) that took more than eight hours to finish.

Not Guilty. I love candy, but I don't eat much due to restrictions/reactions. I do use oranges a fair amount and when I feel up for it, I save the peels to make candied orange peel, though it's usually better as a drink garnish than a candy. The next person has cooked a meal for more than a dozen people at one time.

Those all sound like good themes. I'd be up for any of them, including Easter. I also don't see the harm in pulling from an old challenge now and again, particularly if it didn't get much participation the first time.

Guilty. It needs a couple more rounds of playtesting... and that's all you get, because I would definitely dox myself if I tried to explain it. The next person has sold a piece of art that they created (any kind of art)

I'll answer this too since we don't have a new accusation. Guilty. I don't do a lot of takeout, but there's a really good pizza place near me that has vegan options, and I get to have a drink while I wait. It's delightful! The next person has a favorite, go-to drink they order.

I think at this point, I'd say let's table option 1 for now. Velvet has Robin on that string, so she's open to exploring more with Velvet even if they don't go do something right now. And Robin wouldn't object to Velvet stopping off to pick something up.
