I'll try to type out something resembling an opening scene, and we'll see how the story goes from there. But first I must rest. I think we'll try to do just one scene at the time, and then we'll work together to make sure each main character gets enough screen time. If this this game turns out to just gain more momentum as we start we can consider making it a club. For dice rolls I'll just trust you. Roll your physical dice, use a digital dice roller, ask your mom for a number between 2 and 12, pick one yourself. I tend to find people who play ttrpgs love rolling dice, just let me know the results as I get to do an mc move when2 points

I don't think anyone has Strings on NPC (or vice versa) If I've tracked correctly... all backstory stuff is about done. Only a bit of clarification on string between Hollow and Infernal, and deciding if Velvet's last two strings are going to Mr. Ascars. Witch - Selene: Symp Token 1 : Velvet's Notebook Symp Token 2: Dylan's Picture String given to Robin - caught snooping in Robin's younger cousin's things Hollow - Dylan: Gained String on Selene - watched her walking on the shore at night, 2x String given to Robin - Robin has seen they live alone in the abandoned house Infernal - Velvet: Gained String on2 points

Might be best to keep the MC to character chat separate from the game posts. This thread won't see a whole lot of traffic, so we could use it.2 points

I've been unavailable for the last 16 hours, you'd think that wouldn't leave you with a long backlog of things to do, but here we are. Scenes are a very common pacing element PbtA uses. Imagine our game through the medium of serialized tv program. Each scene is begun by me framing the scene. Where is it? Who's there? What is happening? And most importantly. What are you doing? This is to build up tension. A scene ends when all when it feels appropriate, that there's nothing more interesting to explore in this scene. Or one of us gets uncomfortable so we just cut. Every character may not be in every scene. Robin having an argument wi2 points

Is it too vague to say, "it's sex if your character believes it to be sex?" We might have moments where only one partner feels that way and we get one-sided Sex Moves, but I don't think that breaks anything?2 points

The Mortal - Robin Graham Harm: 0 / 4 Experience: 2 / 5 Mortal's Lover: ??? Look/Eyes/Origin: Robin Graham is the new girl in town. She is quiet, modest, and has the sad eyes of someone who has lost something. Her wrist-length sleeves and long skirts stand out in the summer beach-town, and when she does speak, her soft midwestern accent pairs with her appearance to make it clear—if only to her—that she does not belong here. She works at the concession stand at the Playland amusement park, handing out corndogs and bags of popcorn. The word is that she moved to Potter's Neck at the start of summer with only a backpack and a2 points

I... do want to suggest possibly making an entire seperate club for this especially if we want extra side scenes and multiple ooc's (rolls, conversation, character sheets, etc) I think part of this club was to make a jumping off point for these kind of things, not necessarily constrain us to the club (and flood the tabs with our specific things)1 point

I think the only thing you got incorrect was that Selene received strings from Dylan. I believe he has strings on her from watching her.1 point

A sympathetic token is part of the witch playbook. It serves as a string in most ways, except she can use it to cast hexes. Just double checking. We haven't given any strings to side characters right? And I'm starting to think I'll do questions in this thread so we can have discussions about them in parallel with narration.1 point

ok, did we ever lock in what that string meant? what exactly... is a sympathetic token? I would not mind taking it if I knew how to work it in currently I have the strings for players mainly as the players realizing that velvet is not in complete control for one reason or another, or otherwise helping her out of a situation when she was mostly in control but mr ascars was teetering on regaining his control for this my Idea would be to use spoiler tags for questions and answers, that way we keep them in the scene where the questions and answers are relevant, but hidden away where you can avoid looking at them if you wan1 point

Does Selene have one of Dylan's photos? Maybe the one of a mother holding a young child, The baby's face is blurred because they turned their head. but the young mother is clearly smiling at the baby.1 point

The Hollow - Dylan (Potter) Harm: 0 / 4 Experience: 5 / 5 0/5 Look/Eyes/Origin: Dylan was made - by who or how they don't have any clear memory - to be enjoyed. That they do have memory of, Dylan assumes those who enjoyed them are the ones who made them, but they've gone. Leaving Dylan alone in a house that's always been abandoned since the beginning of summer. What's odder, or perhaps speaks to The Maker's desires, is Dylan is extremely androgynous and doesn't have a clear gender identity. They've cribbed together and awkward style that brashly displays their inexperience by watching Selene and the people on the Playland midway.1 point

Basic Moves and Rules Reference Turn Someone On When you turn someone on, roll with Hot. On a 10 up, gain a String on them and they choose a reaction from below. On a 7-9, they can either give you a String or choose one of the reactions. I give myself to you I promise something I think you want, or I get embarrassed and act awkward. For rules on asexuality and non-attraction, turn to page 49. Shut Someone Down When you shut someone down, roll with Cold. On a 10 up, choose one from below. On a 7-9, choose one from below, but you come across poorly, and they give you a Condition in return.1 point

Seeing the slight changes in his facial features had her give him a soft knowing smile. Even his shoulders seemed to relax at her confirmation of his invitation. She would put her experience to good use here and he would actually, hopefully, listen when she had decent advise to give. Unlike her last Alpha he didn't respect or like her either so it was tumultuous time. Still even through those challenges she got lucky and came out unscathed. First loves never truly die do they? He was looking at her as if time never passed between the both of them. It had been far too long since either of them had meaningful relations with others and still nev1 point

That's a vibe that makes a lot of sense to me. Cool. Yes to everything you said; let's do it.1 point

I think that works, but I think the fascination is reciprocal - the photo booth is by the corn dog stand. Dylan sees Robin a lot and thinks she might share their need to create a life - the broken bike chain feels like a similar deceit to the created parents. So, I know about your bike chain, you know my lie, and we are an odd kind of obsessed not-exactly-lovers. Our string are pretty tangled.1 point

I can see how some word on 'scenes' might help. I'm open to it. ~~~ It seems just about all of the backstory Strings are assigned. @WritesNaughtyStories are you still up for Dylan being designated Robin's Lover? From what we've established, it doesn't seem like they would have a relationship at this point, but I can picture a one-sided obsession developing. What I'm imagining (and feel free to alter) we might say that Dylan's abandoned house is on the route Robin walks from work at the concession stand to her home in the southside apartments. The first time she saw Dylan, Robin's cousin Charlotte might have told her som1 point

I think as this is a play by post setting maybe adding a small scene length minimum just as an element of standardization, or just give the MC leeway in deciding if something needs tweaking As a game some level of rules helps... but as a erotic bit of media too many rules causes issues... i want a middle ground personally So failing any skill gives exp? Or what are the rules there1 point

The Witch - Selene Lefaye Harm: 1 / 4 Experience: 2 / 5 Look/Eyes/Origin: A lithe girl with deep amethyst eyes, Selene is a girl often concerned about her appearances, if only because she believes they might be part of why people don't want to be friends with her. Part of it stems from her being shorter than others her age, and less developed in ways which make her self-conscious. However because putting too much work into her appearances would get in the way of other things she enjoys (mostly reading), she prefers to take shortcuts to make herself appear older (primarily through the use of bras and tops which make her appear more pr1 point
