  1. "Tis most precious to Neptunus Pater, more than all lost jewels taken to his vaults 'neath the cold, vast abyss—with voice gilded in Apollo's rays and song more charmed than Orpheus' refrains." Travor Dunfrey, slapped the dusty journal to his thigh and spat as the motion kicked ancient dust up to his grimacing lips. "That's a whole lot of pretty 'nothin'. What the hell are we looking for? Oy, tomb raider! I think I've followed far enough to get more of an explanation than, 'it's valuable'." "It's likely a chime... or a singing bowl," Clara Roft replied in cool disinterest, tilting her head to allow the braid of her storm-black hair to fa

  2. Jimmy Lizbit stared in dismay at the monitor, simultaneously wondering how he got in this situation and knowing full well how he got here. The pitch meeting for Golden Eagle Liquor was tomorrow and he had bupkiss. Less than bupkiss. He hadn’t taken the campaign seriously, because who the hell cares about some liquor chain in Arkansas. His boss. That’s who. Come on, how was he supposed to know Golden Eagle was owned by the boss’ grandmother? He had nothing but the worst case of writer’s block in advertising history. Interrupting a thought spiral rapidly descending toward insanity was the most atrocious singing. Horny tomcats w

I can see the argument both ways for whether or not the mother is actually death. As for the library, the goal really is to see whether or not they can find anything that will help Shinigami find acceptance, which may or may not include information about the mother. Or they could look for other help, if they want to try praying to Maxim. It’s not impossible they could some form of help or another from there.

  7. By the way, I realize that the topic is locked on turning around Death being well, Death or not Death. I have ideas behind what I want to do with this but I still have troubles not making this a bit awkward. In this world, I am not sure if it's entirely a good idea to have Death itself as a character but at the same time, things seem to twist with it being odd if there was no such thing either. I think Shinigami is taking the blow for the awkwardness of it, though. Plus, I'm not sure I want the fox to have any demon energy or it will ruin the premise. So right now, I want to keep things interesting while developing my fox but I am being
