  1. Emily gave a short nod to the request for a primer. She wasn't a doctor, but those were in short supply and most were better equipped to deal with bullet holes than mental trauma. She made a mental note to see if she could get access to the archives. If the outpost had a propaganda center or servers they could repurpose then maybe they could help channel some of that emotional burden. It felt a touch insane to imagine the former Hive citizen crowded into a warehouse to watch A Requiem for Magnolia and learn what 'sweet tears' are while the LUST was outside the wall lighting up kaiju and repelling HIVE strike forces, but that might be exactly

  2. "You too, huh? I can't tell if your line of work is as dangerous as mine in a physical manner of speaking, or dangerous because of who and what you are." Dalton truly couldn't be sure how dangerous the life of a Private Investigator could be, digging in places for information people shouldn't be... But he couldn't imagine her having the same kind of violent altercations he did in his daily work life, investigating seemingly unrelated criminal elements and seeing how they fit into the greater scope of the city life. Working with Graf and other sentient AIs to connect the pieces in investigations that the police couldn't solve. The fact that so

  3. “It is a very old library, sorted in our fashion, for good or bad. In truth, even I do not know every book in here.” Umi replied to the point on sorting, while trying to look in places she thought might be helpful. She paused as she felt…something. Something unwelcome? She was not certain, but she was troubled by any power that could sneak into such a place. She closed her eyes, concentrated, tried to figure it out. But without luck so far. She whispered prayers of exorcism, on the chance it was something demonic. Better not to take the chance. She would not be surprised if Hikaru noticed it and made his way over. Jumi twitched

  4. Paranoia was new of the factors that pulled Ryoko into this of course, though it was less of a factor after getting drunk and shifting to her other motivation. Now the trick was just to avoid scaring them off. In the best case scenario, maybe motivate them to do what she wanted to see. At some point she had to open her eyes, but much like stripping, that was a judgement call. She would hate to miss much of it. She would be happy if she could just watch though, an invitation to join in was probably hoping for too much, and she would not risk getting closer without an invitation. But maybe it was time to slowly start showing more. She

  5. Mitsuko heard Jumi from where she was, half busy looking at the books as well. "...It's not very easy. I am used to how a library functions but the books here are oddly sorted. What is the pattern...? And if a book about one of these existed, where would it be?", she asked while keeping her eyes on books. Where she was, there were some about names even she didn't know about but obviously, a book would not easily be titled Lenneth or Althena. Could a book about Valhalla even exist? At this point, Mitsuko wasn't sure what to believe anymore. The world of magic had shattered some beliefs that she had about what was real and not real. Secrets she
