  1. What's new in this club
  2. [England] ------------Lonpool, England------------ Population: 7,642,123 The Scarred City [Economy: High | Safety: Medium | Magical Presence: Extreme | Supernatural Presence: Medium | Tech: Medium | Intrigue: Low | Alignment: Neutral] <Heroing status: Registration Required otherwise outlawed> A beautiful city full of culture. A place that had adhered greatly to its heritage and history spanning from the late Meteor Age to now but also a reminder of how dangerous the world could be. Lonpool used to be a fairly normal city at least until part of it was pulled into the sea during the Atlantis Wars during the Ace age and its people were...trapped there and changed making it a city of two world. One of the water, and the other of Earth. This has, ironically, made it a popular place to visit but it has also made the people weary of anything not entirely human thus the situation there can be somewhat tense. It has adapted though as the people there are fairly hardy and quite used to strange things like magic and the occasional supernatural threat. Its a fairly important city for the history of Valors and Villains as many important events have taken place where it is built...and sunk. It is otherwise a fairly normal place to live.
  3. [Japan] -------Kakuhekishi, Honshu, Japan------ Population: 3,234,034 The Lover's Land [Economy: High | Safety: Medium | Magical Presence: Extreme | Supernatural Presence: Extreme | Tech: Medium | Intrigue: Low | Alignment: Neutral] <Heroing status: Legal> Once there was a mighty dragon prince from the deepest of seas. This dragon, mighty and without peer fell in love with a princess and took human form. Hiding among the humans this dragon set about wooing the princess and soon the two were to be wed. On the night of their wedding the dragon revealed himself to the princess, but they were being watched by a jealous maid. This maid, facing the sea, yelled the dragon prince's true name and in doing so got the attention of the God of the sea. In anger, the God of the Sea drowned much of the land. In an afford to appease the fury of the God of the Sea, the Princess offered to built a new land and separate herself from her beloved. The God of the Sea accepted this offer and receded part of the waters where a new village was built for the Princess. Though this kept them apart, the two were able to yell to each other from across the waters. When the princess died the Dragon wrapped rope around the eyes of the God of the Seas so they he could forever watch over her resting place and then took his own life becoming a tower which kept the world static so that nothing ever did change. Kakuhekishi is a place on the coast of Japan that borders between a great mundane existence and an intense strangeness. A deeply spiritual area filled to the brim with Supernatural and Magical power it is considered one of the highest areas of activity in the world. A veritable goldmine for odd occurrences, giant monsters, and magic. It is a large city built around a magical tower whee the laws of physics can almost seem like a suggestion if one believes they are. It changes greatly at night, and spirits live and roam there with impunity. Its downtown area is a wonderful and mechanical place seemingly dedicated to total harmony with nature and advancement. It sits across from another, smaller piece of land upon which an idyllic village sits, but above it sits a barrier which is watched over and tended. No one knows what may happen should that barrier break but it often tears to allow dangerous spirits through. It also has a habit of becoming the prime target of large monsters and wannabe evil lords. It is peaceful, but that peace is often broken by these entities. Still, it has upheld its traditions from the Meteor Age and despite the dangers of living there...it is indeed a magical place. Loved, and beloved. Protected, and protecting. It might not be the most thought of place but there is no doubting its importance especially in a world as odd as this one.
  4. Wonderful! If you need any background then thats on the background page but I've tried to keep information light enough so you guys can just go ham with your characters. Let your imaginations run wild and have some fun with the hero, villain, or civilian of your desires.
  5. General Chatter goes here!
  6. Ah, I see. Okay!
  7. That is indeed a thing you could do!
  8. Oooo, I could write up Titano.
  9. Its for characters you want to expand on but aren't necessarily who you're planning to dedicate all that much time to like your primary character(s). Fleshes out of the world as needed if it fits your fancy, and if you allow can even be used by others or you're willing to jump to them for limited scenes, etc. More static, a bit less important, possibly even temporary for certain storylines. Its not something you have to worry about unless you want to. The NPC-Powered skeleton is basically for NPCs with, well, powers. Other heroes, villains, formers of those, etc.
  10. I believe I also saw different types? Could you explain the purpose of a NPC-Powered character? Just world-building?
  11. A character skeleton is the information you fill out to make a character. Basically blank sheets kind of like an RPG statsheet if you're at all familiar with those but for, ya know, rps and all that. Its like what you filled out for Hotel California at the front desk. If you go to <Character Wiki> and then under [Character Skeletons] and then unspoiler the area under [Player Characters] there is the character skeleton. You just copy that, start a new topic, and fill it out.
  12. Okay- What exactly is a "Character Skeleton"?
  13. By making a character which is in the <Character Wiki> area where the character skeletons are. You just post your character in a topic you create for them. If you need any help with that in particular I will be happy to lend a hand. I know you're on mobile so don't worry too much abut the formatting of the images or anything.
  14. Yeah, uh, where do I start??
  15. @LEROZERO We'd be happy to have ya! Anything I can do to help? Any thing you need clarified?
  16. Been thinking about starting on this.
  17. [Location: Nahan Springs, Downtown area] It was as sudden as it was frightening. A black spot in sky, stars that were once observed were simply...gone. No one understood what it meant, no one knew what it meant. This ominous void that suddenly appeared, and devoured ancient lights. Then...there came a message, a warning, carried on the air with a furious roar in the minds of all who could be reached. It didn't matter the origin, or the language. It didn't matter the state or the allegiance. It was a message to be understood. [THEY COME. PREPARE. THEY COME. PREPARE. THEY C-] Then...there was deep silence. The winds stopped, as if reacting with fear. It was not soon after when the void grew larger and R.E.D.I. mobilized. They did not have much time but they were able to ascertain that what was approaching was a massive ship of some sort. It was moving at a rapid speed leaving them little time to truly prepare. R.E.D.I. sent out the call and got to work. It was only a week... Now, years in the sky have opened and loom above cities all around the world and everyone waits with baited breath. R.E.D.I. still searching for an answer to this new crisis. In Nahan Springs a shelter has been built and a call for heroes to defend the city has gone out hoping that their defense will be adequate. No one knows when it will begin but as heroes gather all anyone can do is wait and try to stay safe....
  18. She had a point when it came to the numbers game "Saints or just scared." but seeing her digital emulation up close was definitely something! He chuckled at the display "And here I thought I was the one with the light show." but she definitely made quite the impression. They had been at this for about the same length of time but she seemed much more...in control he had to admit or perhaps her mask was merely better than his. It was difficult to tell but she wasn't missing a single beat now was she? "Ha! Well G.H.A.R.D. would prefer I retire before they ever treat me right. I think they're still a little mad at me for stopping them from taking ColdWolf to jail. He just needed a little help." he said shrugging it off. He guessed a registered hero would find it difficult to imagine someone wouldn't take the deal with GHARD given what they offered but Everglow preferred to go his own way with these things. He tapped his mask "I might hit you up on the publicist thing. I've got plenty of space on my suit for some logos." of course he wouldn't actually do so but it was a nice thought. "No no...a woman. She's resting up." he did know who she was talking about and truthfully he was thankful it wasn't him. Some heroes really did make themselves difficult to work with but then again...it took Everglow effort to find an proper supporter for himself as well. Luckily he was able to get a favor for that. He chuckled "Nothing too difficult." rubbing his head "Well she might be happy to see you then. A big name from her city? Put her at ease." He stood by her as she posted up on the sign and looked towards the ship "A simple alien invasion I think we could handle. This feels much worse." he said. He stared up, eyes glowing brighter as he attempted to read the alien signature of the ship but he found himself looking away in pain. He groaned "Never encountered something like this." before he took a deep breath to steady himself. It was definitely worrying that he couldn't tell what sort of energy the ship was using. He'd have to strain to see it and the reaction from the ambient energy of the city was..worrying. It wasn't disrupted but the fear was palpable. He took a deep breath and cracked his neck. "What about you? GHARD or REDI tell you anything?" he asked.
  19. “You’ve got what, 9 mill in this town? Sure, a lot evacuated to the countryside, but still, at the high side you’ve got a couple hundred folks trying to make a quick score while we’re staring at the dark skies.” GamerGirl smiled up at him, “Got news for you, Everglow. The people of your city, on average, are Saints.” She punctuated her statement with finger guns, actually manifesting a cosmetic emote that shot harmless, colorful fireworks from her fingers. Tabby waved a hand at his comment about her endorsements, “Pushaw. Pretty much any hero can get brand deals. I’m just pretty shameless about it. The real trick is getting an accountant that actually understands you want to give most of it to charity instead of trying to establish a ‘charitable trust’ which is just a tax dodge for dishonest wealthy folks. But I’ll tell you what. If GHARD doesn’t treat you right, hit up my publicist. I’d be happy to introduce you to my team.” She just assumed he was registered, but knew GHARD could be underwhelming in their salaries. “Oh wow, another Twin City super? Nice! So long as it isn’t Titano. Haven’t forgiven him for being grabby last time we met. Guy thinks he’s God’s gift to tights, but just between us, he needs to start using an athletic supporter. Shit’s obscene just outlined like that.” She tapped her ear, “GHARD told me about supervillain activity but said it was already contained by the time I Fast Travelled in. Sorry I missed it. I bet you were awesome and must not have been too outrageous. Your costume isn’t even scuffed.” She twisted from side to side, stretching out her back, then stretched each leg in turn by propping a foot up on a traffic ballard in front of the shop and leaning into it. “So, Whaddya think, Everglow? This an Independence Day scenario? We going to need to rumble the Regelians or grapple with the Greys? Did ET phone home for an invasion fleet?”
  20. Well the idea that someone was famous as GamerGirl was even aware of him was...nice! It meant he was growing in fame even if it wasn't the primary reason he did anything. She didn't know his name but that was alright "Everglow." he introduced himself, watching her from behind the glowing lenses of his domino mask. She was pretty relaxed but in all her appearances she tended to seem like she was having fun of some sort. No question of her heroics of course but it was quite something to experience up close. It was almost like they weren't facing down their potential destruction. He nodded to her "Well I appreciate it. I've told them this city is maybe a little too large." a little joke to break the ice but the city was enormous. Layered, and separated. If those ships were hostile they would need all the help they could get to protect it. He was genuine in the help even if he and GHARD didn't get along that well given his refusal to be registered. He sighed and looked around "Well, I can't say its definitely settled things without much trouble though I'd prefer it if the people of my city were less..greedy." it wasn't a great showing but still he nodded to her in thanks to settling this without too much violence. There was still troubles elsewhere but the less people they had to hurt the better. And then she got closer and his gaze had to move downward to look at her now....and she certainly knew it. He chuckled "Well some of us have different sorts of callings. I'm sure I'd be a great player but bringing game stuff to life? No wonder everyone is chomping at the bit to get you to advertise for them." she was...pretty cute up close. It was one thing to see her on TV but to be this close? It was a surprise. "Well welcome to the city." though he thought for a moment. She was from Minneapolis right? He chuckled "I have two heroes here from Minneapolis. Fancy that." though looking behind him it did seem Noble Ember didn't come with. He hoped she was alright "Sorry I didn't come sooner. Myself and another hero were dealing with an escaped convict not far from here."
  21. Noble Ember watched Everglow fly away leaving her in chaos. She took a deep breathe looking around at where her fire tornado was. She had really done a good job controlling it but the thought of being in one of those monsters still gave her chills but it was fast thinking on Everglow part. She took a moment to close her eyes and take a few deep breaths before taking out a herb that would calm her down. As she slowly chewed on the herb she sat down on a bench that she had seen during the battle with the doctor. She looked up at the sky at the alien threat and sighed. "I hope more heros show up. That threat won't be easy to take down and my trump card will only be saved for that alien threat." She said calmly to herself.
  22. “Guilty as charged,“ GamerGirl replied to the glowing green giant with an E on his chest. She gave a little wave from her perch. She pointed at him, face scrunched up as she tried to remember the details, then shrugged. “I know you’re one of the local heroes. Even saw your pic on a newspaper out on the street. Blanking on the name though. Sorry, don’t make my way to the big city often.” She hopped down off the counter, “Yeah, REDI said things were looking dire here, so I hopped on over. Figured that if the things in the sky were hostile, this place would be hit harder than my hometown. Came across some civvies looting and shooed them on home. Figured the insurance would cover any losses and if they felt they got lucky with a small score, they’d stay home not to press their luck.” She walked over and looked him up and down, hands on her hips, “Holy crap! You’re even bigger up close. The basketball or football leagues really missed out when you got powers. Shame giving a guy your height flying powers though. Not like any top shelf had a chance in the first place.”
  23. "Its no problem. You care and that's not something to be apologetic over.." he told her. He listened to her and nodded along "I see..." looking about "You didn't have to do that but I appreciate you ignoring your fear to deal with a threat in the way you saw best. That's the mark of a real hero so if nothing else...you definitely are proving that." he would pay her shoulders gently before a new noise caught his attention. Closer. More looting it seemed! He sighed "Well if you think you're alright I'm going to go calm things down a little more. Feel free to take some time to relax if you want." the hero would say before making some space between them. He'd crouch a bit before flying into the sky and into the city again. Chaos didn't take a rest but a little moment to settle an ally? That was worth the time. He'd fly through the air until he found the source of the noise. An electronics store? People were greedy. He expected more from those in his city but well...what could it be. The hero landed right in front of the broken glass of the doors and stood tall. His eyes narrowed as he met with a group of looters who were running out but they looked surprised. He crossed his arms over his chest "Alien invasion you use it to get yourself some TVs? I'm disappointed." he said. They looked back at the store and told him about some female voice that told them they could just take one thing and go free. He looked past them as more joined the crowd "We're better than that and you know it. Put them down....now and get to the shelters or get to the evacuation buses." he said and walked past them into the store. A few people did decide they're try their luck while others felt shame and put down what they took to get to shelter or get evacuated. All sorts...no matter where you were. He looked around. The place was in ruins but he wasn't making a move to stop anyone instead looking around for the woman they were talking about and soon his eyes fell on a display case with someone in a costume on it. His eyes widened in surprise...he recognized this girl. She wasn't a small name like himself or Noble Ember "GamerGirl?" he said out loud. He didn't know her but he was a fan of heroes. There was no way he'd miss that name. "Well this is a surprise. Thanks for settling things down I suppose." putting his hands on his hips.
  24. Noble Ember blushed softly.."Thank you Everglow. That means a lot and....sorry about earlier not asking permission to put that mask over your face. I....I guess I got worried about the gas." She said rubbing her upper arm. "And no no I'll be fine..it's just.... tornados scare me and....and doing that only a moment ago being in the middle of one just gave me flashbacks. But I'll be fine." She said slowly calming down as the was disappearing. "Besides I'm not injured. I had to face that fear for the greater good even if it they scare me to death." She smiled at Everglow showing she'd go through hell and high water to be great hero even if it meant facing her fears and dealing with her weakness head on.
  25. No one really noticed the sound of boots crunching onto broken glass. Not like the folks moving through the electronics store were trying to keep a low profile. Rather, the looters were swarming through the store like rapacious locusts. After a loud snap-hiss, the store’s PA system activated, projecting an amused voice through the shop. “Attention Better Bargain shoppers! While I applaud your entrepreneurial instincts, I’m afraid that there’s a bloody alien invader floating in the sky over the city and it’s just not safe for shopping right now. Especially unsafe is spicy shoplifting. Now, I hate hospitalizing people for property crimes. Feels too authoritarian for my tastes. Not like I became a superhero to be a cop. So, here’s the deal. You all have 2 minutes, 120 seconds to pick a single item and go home. Anyone who peacefully walks out of this place in the next two minutes carrying a single item gets a free pass from me.” After a beat for them to consider the carrot, GamerGirl explained the stick, “Anyone who doesn’t take me up on this kind offer will be getting a minimum of two broken bones, and given emergency services are a bit tied up right now, I have absolutely no idea how long it’ll take paramedics to get to you. Think about it. You have two minutes, and your time starts now.” Tabby set the PA’s mic back on its hook, then hopped up to sit on a display case with a good view of the store’s exit. She began whistling while watching an imaginary watch on her wrist.
  26. "Pretty good control over fire with a good heart." he noted though he could tell somewhat was up with her. He didn't know what but she seemed a bit more tired in his eyes. He looked about for a moment as things seemed secure enough in the area finally. Everglow seemed clear himself as though he was fairly used to this sort of thing. He wondered how long Noble Ember had been at this game. She seemed as though she'd been at it for some time but this was a new situation. He lowered himself a little, his glowing eyes falling upon her but his gaze was softer, concerned "Do you need to check in with the doctors? I don't take it your registered with REDI or GHARD but they're not likely to turn down a check up in this situation. REDI treated me pretty well when those giant monsters attacked everyone. I don't imagine you're a heat battery." a little humor to diffuse the situation just a little bit. He was fine though. Truthfully he was more than fine in situations like this. The energy hadn't been disrupted so he was taking in more to replace what he had just expended as he spoke. It was a benefit truthfully...being a battery meant he was rarely tired unless he expended too much at once but this wasn't that. He was sure if he tried to answer every fire, stop every looting incident, and tackle every villain he might need to increase his absorption but for now? He was only aware. Prepared, but far from panic. "Villains in this city can be pretty odd. Lots of mad scientists, don't let anything he said get to you. Its the fifth time I've had to send him to jail this month alone." perhaps she was just more afraid than she was letting on.
