Long ago a great civilization  stood but not on the surface as we know but many of its great cities are found underground.

to this day the Healing Church are still recovering artifacts from these cities. Some say they created the chalice dungeons.

Long ago a great city stood upon the shores of the sea its great brightly colored towers overlooking the water straight into the sky

such a grand city it was yet no one remembers its name. the streets were paved in bright colours indescribable to the human eyes high above the ground between each tower

some say they never had a true road within others say tit was so tall no one could tell

the city was such that many visitors of other cities and lands would come to gaze upon its beauty.

deep in the water lived a peculiar being whose skin was pale and its face without any features.

it slumbered beneath the water for a millennia before it began to stir.

awoken from its slumber it rose out of the sea and gazed upon the city and its towers

enamored the pale one went to the city it's curiosity peaked

the inhabitants frightful of the being soon began to worship it believing it to be the god of the sea

with this worship the pale one granted them abundance of food using its blood for crops and livestock to grow more tasteful and plentiful

good times reigned until one day the sickly leader of this great city caught ahold of its blood and partook of it

The king was healed and the city rejoiced

Upon the discovery of its properties the imprisoned the pale one and took it deep within the city far underground

the undercity was dark and colourless with no soul within it but abandoned dwellings

it was here the city locked the pale one within

Betrayed and angered the pale one unleashed a great curse before being finally brought down

For awhile good times prospered only a few remembered the curse given by the pale one

Then tragedy the king fell sick and clouds blocked the sky. the king sent men deep into the dungeon to seek the pale one's blood

and once he partook in it what once healed brought pain and misery

crops crumbled into dust livestock grew fatter and fell apart in great pain their meat tasteless and poisonous.

their wells soon began to dry and replaced with bubbling masses within them

the towers lost their colours and the once beautiful city fell into decay

one by one the towers crumbled into the sea until nothing was left upon the soil

and deep within the earth the pale one went into slumber once again
