IsabellaRose Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Your fingers brush against the collar, its surface cold as death and heavy with promise. Your pulse quickens as you consider your options, fear and resolve warring in your heart. You can feel the demon's eyes on you, his presence pressing down like an iron weight, and you know that this choice is more than it appears. He wants you to submit, to bow, to give yourself over completely. But you refuse to be so easily cowed. You draw a breath, summoning every ounce of courage you possess, and lift your gaze to meet his fiery eyes. "What if I don't want to be just another toy for you?" you ask, voice surprisingly steady despite the terror coiling in your belly. "I can be more valuable than that. More useful." The demon’s lips curl into an intrigued smile, his horns casting jagged shadows across his face. "Go on, girl. You have my attention." His voice is a velvet blade, dangerous and alluring. You press on, forcing your words to sound confident, convincing. "You said I'd be yours. That I'd have a purpose." You gesture at the collar. "But that implies obedience, mindless servitude. I'm offering you something better. An alliance. I'll serve willingly, but I won't be a mindless thrall. Use me as an agent instead, a weapon, a tool to accomplish what you can't with brute force alone." The demon's smile widens, amusement flickering in his burning eyes. He circles you slowly, his presence like spiked velvet sliding over your skin. "You presume much, mortal," he purrs, leaning closer. "But your defiance amuses me. You propose a partnership, a role beyond simple servitude." He lifts a clawed hand, tracing one finger along your jawline. "And what makes you think you have anything to offer me that I cannot simply take?" You swallow, struggling to keep your voice steady. "Because I know fear, I know desperation, and I can manipulate those emotions in others. I could help you spread your influence, gather information, and control those who would resist you. You don't need another thrall. You need someone who can think for themselves." The demon's laughter is a low, rumbling sound, vibrating deep in your chest. "Interesting. Very interesting." He steps back, considering you with a thoughtful tilt of his head. "You offer ambition and cunning instead of submission. Very well, let us see if there is potential in your defiance." He gestures to the collar, and the runes flare briefly with a cold blue light. "Place the collar around your neck, and we shall forge a pact. If you prove useful, I will grant you power and autonomy within my domain. But betray me, and your suffering will be legendary." Your breath catches as you look down at the collar in your hands. This is your chance to shift the balance, to seize power rather than submit to it. But the price is steep, and the risk is great.
