I do an annual birthday retreat where I assess the last 12 month of my life, see what went wrong and what went right, and try to course correct and set goals for the coming year. So by New Years, I should already be well on my way toward what everyone else sets as new years resolutions. The next person has time off from work for the holidays.

I mean, there's history with us - bad timing, failed attempts, running away, denying feelings, resentment and pettiness... I think once we both forgave each other for past mistakes, let go of our expectations, and decided to live in the moment it just started working.
