  1. Elena stopped pacing the moment the human entered the library. She quirked one eyebrow as she smelled him. Simply human. Was dinner being served? Mmm, maybe he'd run and she could pretend to enjoy a hunt. Sometimes it took her back to her youth, the thrill of chasing, stalking, then pouncing on a human, the feel of her teeth in flesh, the taste of blood in her mouth, watching the light fade from their eyes... She moved up behind the human where he sat and leaned in, but then sensed it. He was a thrall. Damn. She was hungry, but she wouldn't stoop to offending her hosts by devouring their thralls. Instead, she feigned interest in his literary find. "Pray tell, what have you found that so interests your young mind?"
  2. @Venari99 Darion got inadvertently "spied on" by a wolf biologist who's running off to the library no reply necessary, just an FYI so he can recognize her scent later.
  3. <from rec room> Lupita stopped before turning the corner and listened. She heard introductions, not certain if she recognized any of the voices. Ah, that was Rava talking about vampires, and maybe Zaria introducing herself to someone new. A male voice. He'd fought vampires? Lupita turned back around. What the hell was she even doing here? How safe was it to hide with other werewolves when their kind were being hunted? Was there really safety in numbers, or did it just make her easier to find? She turned and backtracked down the hall. There was another way to get to the library, she was certain she'd found it last night. She did her best to be quiet and not attract attention, but... half of them could probably identify her by smell. She still wasn't good at that in her human form. <continued in library>
  4. Lupita shut down her laptop. She needed to save the battery, and there was no use in reliving the past. Tabor was dead. She needed to focus on the present and plan for the future. She shoved the laptop back into her messenger bag next to the sketchbook and pulled out her pen and the small journal. It made her feel good to hold them, even if she wasn't planning on writing anything just yet. They were there, ready in case something needed to be written down. She looked around the rec room. It was a nice place, but the library was more her speed. Maybe she'd find something interesting to read. Maybe even something to help her understand the curse under which she now lived. She headed out into the hall and toward the library. <continued in library>

  16. Elena flipped impatiently through another book, then shoved it back into its place on the shelf. She took down another, then another, and another. Each one was rifled through quickly the returned to where it belonged. The information she sought was likely not here. The library was impressive and contained far more information than she would have expected in such a small coven, but the information she sought was rare beyond anything she had seen here. It was possible that it had not survived the years. She shook her head at the thought of all those books and scrolls lost over the centuries, all that knowledge casually burned, destroyed, tossed aside like she now tossed aside human life. She sighed and turned back to face the altar in the center of the library. It was a beautiful collection, a lovely room. But in the end, it would burn like everything else. Why did she even bother trying to find the one thing for which she searched? It was a fools errand, a joke of a thing to keep her hands and mind occupied because, even after all these years, she was unable to end her own life. So she sought the one thing that would help her catch the world up to where she was, knowing she would never find it. She paced the library, heels clicking on the marble floor, echoing across the room. Her long, black gown nearly swept the floor at her feet, the shimmering platinum woven into the fabric catching the light and reflecting it back from within dark folds. Her pace was slow and steady, her movement fluid and graceful. She moved like a feline stalking its prey, and more often than not that's how she viewed everyone around her. Prey or tools, but rarely as equals. She turned, started along the far end of the library, then turned again and started back. She walked the perimeter of the room, no longer looking at books or even really thinking, but rather in a meditative way, movement erasing thought, senses disconnected from reality, mind open to possibility and awaiting inspiration.
  17. With me, do you even need to ask?
  18. Name: Elena Yaroslava Dragovic (née Stojgnev) Age: 1,055 Sex: Female Sexuality: Pansexual Role: Vampire Personality: Elena affects a gracious, pleasant demeanor, coming across as ancient royalty in her interactions with others, but in truth is dismissive and destructive. The weight of her stare bears with it her thousand years of existence. When dealing with those she sees as beneath her, her pleasant disposition soon fades to a bored indifference that borders on rude and discourteous. She desires nothing having already had all one could want and forsaking it. She is occasionally amused by physical dalliances, and feeds on humans, thralls, or animals without distinction or preference. Blood is blood. She does not enjoy politics or political maneuvering, preferring blunt and brutal honesty in her interactions with others. This brusque and straightforward approach only heightens her apparent lack of manners. She will allow anyone who thinks they are capable to try to please her sexually, but she is a demanding and controlling partner without mercy and with no interest in her partners satisfaction. The only thing she truly enjoys is violence and watching the light of life fade from her victims eyes, but understands the need for discretion in the modern age; she cannot wade through the bodies of those she has slain as her sire once did. Appearance Details: Elena is 5' 6", 5" 10" with the four inch heels she always wears. She is elegant, shapely, and classically beautiful. She moves with an inhuman grace borne of centuries of practice. She always dresses to impress in long gowns or dresses of lace, silk, and other luxurious fabrics, usually in midnight black or crimson. Other Details: Elena is a thousand year old, nihilist vampire. The meaninglessness of existence and futility of relationships weigh heavily upon her conscience. She believes in nothing and has no loyalties nor purpose other than an impulse to destroy the fleeting and transitory things that surround her. After watching things she thought of as permanent fall and crumble over a few hundred years, then spending another few hundred years watching everything that ever made sense stripped of all meaning, she realized that all moral, religious, and metaphysical convictions were mere human contrivances. If nothing meant anything, if nothing was even real or lasting, then the only thing left was the moment, the pleasure or pain of an instant. She spent decades pursuing hedonistic pleasures, amassing wealth, property, power, and dozens of thralls. She sought the most extreme pleasures of the flesh, distractions of the mind, and twisting of the soul. But in the end, there was still the utter meaninglessness of it all. In anger she lashed out, death and destruction her only entertainment. When she had destroyed her property, slain her thralls, and relinquished her power, she retreated into herself. After over a century of self-imposed exile, she has emerged again to join the world. She came to Blackthorne Castle as it was a quiet, out of the way haven away from any other vampires who may have previously known her.
