He's generally roguishly disheveled, sports a shadow of a beard and a medium length of messy curls.  He generally seems lost in thought about something or other.  A perpetual cocky smirk lines his face when he talks and dark rings line his eyes.

Bio:  To summarize:  He was born in South Africa on Terra to decently well of parents.  He studied a great deal of topics but become bored with the limited opportunity for discovery.  He signed up for a few tours in the federation as a science officer and pilot but left shortly after.  He got a job and tenure as a professor with a fairly prestigious but small milky way university called Jodenheim.   He got bored, again, and took part time work as a surveyor.  Now, he's out in Andromeda on a survey mission following a series of leads about an ancient Xeno civilization.
