  1. Hi there, hello. Snicker Ok, okay. I promise I won't do that too much. Remember, promises are just frivolous excuses to get punished later. Anyway, on to me. Imaginary drumroll sounds My name is Faith. You might have noticed that I'm a bit insane and vocally proud of it. I'm also an out and out proud submissive in the irl sense. As a writer, I'm much more flexible but I still definitely have a sub lean to my preferences. Shocker, I know. Unimpressed cricket noises Geez, tough crowd. Now, I promise you I don't roleplay like this. It's more or less my flair for the dramatic that causes it. I've been an on

  3. I'm glad Dream got into this side of things. Just saying... I was afraid I might have ruined for them, mostly. You're all very much more active anyway and certain of what you want to do. I wish you all to have fun with it. I rarely am this indecisive about a character but this was something completely new for me. Two different games didn't seem ideal, anyhow. Satai and I should be fine. I just hoped Dream didn't lose their chance to enjoy this. So yeah, I won't derail too much of your ooc in case you need it for story planning and other purpose. I will just say good luck and have a pleasant game. Maybe on a next idea, I might be able to

  4. Hello all! My name is Kris and I am so excited to roleplay with all of you guys. My main kinks and limits are my description/bio and I am almost always available. I hope you message me, so we can roleplay sometime. Also I am easily pleased, so whatever you want to do is fine with me.

  5. Heya Darlings! Im a bit new here but I have a good bit of experience role-playing though not much experience with forums or text based roleplay so hopefully you can be patient with me. Im genuinely just a super chill person who enjoys small talk so even if we don't click for an RP don't be shy to just chat with me. Im usually busy so don't feel concerned if I dont respond to messages for a day or so, it doesn't mean you did anything wrong and more just I haven't had time to reply.

  6. Hi there, I'm fairly new to forums, think I tried some about a decade ago but was massively more shy back then so never really hit it off. I am not however new to roleplaying, and look forward to the potential chats and future role-playing partners! I have experience playing mostly women but also men, love to add in NPCs, and are currently craving having at least two main characters! Hope whenever you are, you find yourself in good spirits, thank you for reading.

  7. Well, I'm sad to see you go. I feel like I should try to talk you into staying, but we already messaged privately. I get how it is when a game starts heading in a different direction than you thought. Sometimes you have to bail. I'll miss your creativity and influence in this game.

  9. This step is “the things we want to make sure exist in the game for it to be fun.” So themes, scene, set pieces, technology, etc. in Pathways we’ll add specific NPCs, groups, locations, and events. What we add in pathways is definitely going to be in the game. So we want to cast broad strokes here, then get specific pinpoints in pathways. if everyone is more or less in agreement, I’ll setup the pathways chart and post the Pathways Step 1 instructions here once I’m back on my laptop. I’m playing Auntie Daycare at my nieces house right now and typing that out on the phone is going to be a nightmare.

  10. I was planning to just wholesale import basic historic reality (more like... um... well, as if it were a tv show - sometimes veering into exploring darker themes, sometimes just handwaving the troublesome aspects, depending on how much anyone wants to focus on them and what fits into the story) and alter whatever needed to be altered to fit the setting. That includes the the rebel remnants, ex-confederates, recently freed slaves, the encroachment of the settlers on First Nations lands, the Army carrying out its campaign to clear the "savages" from the lands... But as WickedCadrach said, as background unless it becomes useful to the plot

Okay, so it looks like the list of interested players is: @SataiRolePlayingGuy @MagnificentBastard @WickedCadrach @DreamsnThings @AsBloodTurnsEverCold @Chiyako @StarlitSiren @WritesNaughtyStories @Warning So we can split that into either 2 games of 4 and 5 players, or 3 games of 3 players each. HOWEVER WE SPLIT IT, they will all be in the same world, and all in the American west so that if we end up with drop outs we can merge groups. Or so we can do fun crossover/team-ups later, if we decide to. My request to everyone: Message me privately if there's anyone you REALLY want in your

  13. I also think various factions of the world will not exactly see eye to eye. This is why Hellhound is not exactly friend with demons. She is not one, per ce. Shinigami is a death born fox beast and also is not all friendly with demons. But add aliens to that, it will put another force trying to take control with or without demons. The enemy factions will tear each others or something, realistically. It can probably be for any reasons. To seize control, to overpower, to dominate, to govern, to invade and devastate. Lenneth is also another faction. Humans are very small in this universe but very many. Their numbers are huge unlike the few u

But I have been branching out lately after having a few recommendations to forum sites like this one. So along my arrival here, and other place, I have come looking for a new set of roleplay partners! I have very few actual requirements. But I stick by them pretty religiouly. 21. Also, keep in mind that when you turn an NPC from an "Extra" into a "Relationship" that makes them a "Feature" (see the top of the Rules thread). Features are NPCs that you collectively decide (by pinking your PCs to them) are important NPCs who will get a lot of screen time or play heavily into the plot. I will create full character sheets (stepping through all the steps just like you did, but without the map connections) for every Feature. Right now the Features are: Kirsa Autenrieth TIAL-V Jack Bennett The Blue Hour Lady Joshua Thane When I create their sheets, I'll be giving them all their own Va

  23. I've read it and I'd like to play it, but I haven't yet. Two of my other groups played it and loved it. From reading it, it looks like Fabula Ultima is what D&D pretends to be: a dramatic, character-driven, high-stakes, over-the-top adventure game where story is the engine and combat is one expression of that story, not the whole point. D&D is ultimately a tactical miniatures combat system with roleplay strung between initiative rounds. Fabula Ultima, on the other hand, assumes that big melodrama is normal, that emotional motivations matter mechanically, that characters change as the story changes, and that over-the-top, cinemati

In 1880, everything east is 'civilization', and everything west is wilderness, homesteads, and one-street towns (basically). The Rio Grande runs from the north-west to the south-east and divides the USA from Mexico. Mexico used to own a bunch of stuff north of the Rio Grande but lost it after people decided they'd rather be part of the USA, mainly because that meant they'd get to keep owning other people as property. The USA changes its mind on that idea a while later anyway. California i

A vampire implies someone who turned them into a vampire, which implies other vampires, which implies hunters, which implies more than I personally wanted to include. But, a note to consider: the players don't all have to be friends. They have Relationships with each other, but they don't have to be good relationships, they just have to involve strong feelings. Consider that the original game setup for the Smallville game this system was originally designed for included pre-generated characters for both Clark Kent AND Lex Luthor. The working men and women contrasted with the rich land and business owners holding events like they're in the centre of civilisation, far from the frontier. -Heists?- a complicated plan with little to no chance of going off correctly. -Horses; Maybe unnecessary to add, but the Frontier can't be all trains and zeppelins (though I love them both, especially with our aesthetic.) I imagine civilisation being incredibly reliant on the technology and industrial side, while the frontier/

  47. The setting references I originally posted include a historic timeframe as well as real-life and fictional material that is more or less based on our real world and thus, very human-centric. I don't see fantasy species existing in this setting, but an automaton, or possibly something supernatural-ish, given the weird west / mad scientist vibe. I would expect from the initial proposed setup something more along the lines of a Frankenstein's Monster, Jekyll/Hyde, Dr. Moreau's creations, etc. over vampires, werewolves, etc. More science gone awry than actual supernatural species. That being said, I could see room for some magical beings like ski

The Town’s Defenders – they all live in a strange frontier boomtown (part steampunk, part mining camp, part trading post/railroad stop/hub), and are forced to band together when trouble strikes. - Kind of gives off Seven Samurai sort of vibes, which I am all for. Gives us antagonists and a reason to stick together, regardless of whether or not we start off friendly. Also, depending on how many are newcomers, it allows for a variety of starting relations (or lack thereof). While stuck in
