I was thinking it could be a story about Aang traveling the world. 
Remembering the series, there was a lot of fans of the avatar but aang had sights for Katara alone. 
So I thought about changing that factor and let him have some fun while he travels the world to learns to bend the other elements.

I do not crave Aang as a sexual character in any sort of way.

None of the canon male characters. My main wish is to play 2+ of the females.

I see, than a new character then. How about instead of going around the world to learn the elements, MC could be a merchant. So he's job is to go around the world. That's how he'll be in contact with any girl you want to play as.

What is MC?

Overall a better idea, but I wanted to play a harem not play them as basically one night stands and separated.

So you want to have an event that lasts a few days/weeks to get the girls you want at the same place? Or do you want him to take the girls with him from his travels?

It was your suggestion to have a nomad type of character, so there isn't really a scenario I had in mind for your suggestion.

I suggest something like a post-war scenario where a general or other leader gets very friendly with the girls we can agree on and thigns begin to escalate from there. Would be great if he also wants to share them with his subordinates.

That sounds like a good idea. So something like this?
So a General on his ship decides to have some fun since they were all in piece anyways. No point in being high alert 24/7 if there's no war. He goes around the world waiting to be called while he just enjoys his days with the locals he meets. And some even joins him on his ship where the fun continues.

I guess that works, though I would like a bit more solid story.

How about he actually has a task. Like he's searching for a scroll to help the current avatar to control the other spirits. As in it helps him switch from himself to past avatars. The Avatar wants the scroll to gather information of the past to better their future. And that's why MC is tasked to go around the world to find it.

I think that works fine as a way to get around and such. Would be nice to have the girls to be helped out by him and his crew in various, making them more interested in forming a growing harem.

Which canon gals from it do you like?

Ty Lee, Toph, Suki, Ming, And I guess a younger version's of the girls in The legend of Korra.
Hard to find none badass girls that are alive post war.

My list:
1) Azula 2) Katara 3) Toph 4) Mei and 5) Suki - any combination of those would be great.

I don't remember who Ming was.

Ming was the guard that uncle Iroh sent home before he broke out of prison

Ooooh...she was barely in there.Not a whole lot to really base a character around.
