Rouge’s Facade

Rouge has had dire luck lately attempting to succeed in any type of heist, and as her pride with the title of a ‘Master Thief’ begins to waver, she believes it to be best to relent for now. The Authorities haven’t had any sense of evidence to her identity, and it’s best to keep it that way. After a few months of dying down intrigue towards her doings, Rouge moves to a City with the goal of unwinding and enjoy her spoils of her successful missions. 

White City, a newly developed and thriving community that’s leading in the Country’s prized jewel. The perfect place for a Thief looking to settle down from her past, and more than welcoming to new residents. She’s managed to secure a condo using her funds near the heart of the Urban Sprawl, but she’s just put herself in the middle of a jungle she could get lost in…

To help on her journey to relax and maybe even refresh over her skills, she’s hired a Personal Trainer to help her get her footing in fitness. His price came off fairly cheap, and when she needs to play the part of just a well-off citizen, paying for some high class stuff will get some Government attention. 

White City comes off allergic to vehicles, separating itself from the encroaching trap of traffic and smog. Most people go off walking, and cars don’t get you too far. As Rouge gets to the Gym, it’s placed in the peacefully subdued part of the City known as the ’Quiet Side’ . A park square that bans off the use of motor vehicles, and even for a Bat the place hardly even gets the leak of sound from anywhere else. 

Her Trainer is a Human, at least twice her height with a set of messy black hair and pale blue eyes, going off the name Thomas. He seems pretty well in-tune with the people in the city but at the same time, fresh to the job of being a Trainer. He might be incredibly worthwhile to help Rouge get familiar with the City and it’s people as her guide and mediator, but there’s something off with him. A familiar unease that she gets whenever tiptoeing around the sight-lines of Authority. 

He’s a part time Trainer, but a full time Officer.

Three weeks with him, that’s how long she’s got him. Rouge could just keep her head down, and he’d be none the wiser, but with the City getting a new Mayor, things are going to come. There’s talks that she’s going to be bringing to the City an exhibition of Fine Art, drumming up attention and the promise that the future will be grander than her political opponent she booted out of office.

Maybe Rouge should just keep her head down and live normally… or maybe she should give White City the shock and awe that the ‘Master Thief’ is in their crowds. The excitement and rush, of infamy, and the profit! 

Though she’ll learn that there’s much more to be learned from just adding another zero to her bank. There’s something fishy about this exhibition. Something that’s going down that only she can figure out, and the unwinding a corrupt chain that’s linking up to somewhere…

There’s tons of people in the City to learn from, gain from, and even entrust if she can. Rouge might have lost her tempo months ago, but maybe here she can reclaim it and make her title even grander. She’ll just have to play all her cards right.

If only her Trainer wasn’t a Rival she’d never ask for.
