Welcome to Nightvale

1 post in this topic

I am just wondering if anyone else listened to this podcast?

For those who haven't heard of it here is the description taken from the pod cast itself:

"Twice-monthly community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events. Turn on your radio and hide. Welcome to Night Vale. (Produced by Commonplace Books. Written by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor. Narrated by Cecil Baldwin.)"

Of course it is fictional. It is also based on the unused ideas of H.P.Lovecraft. (The father of Cthulhu and inspiration of other scifi series.)

A quote from wiki article:

"In an interview with NPR, Joseph Fink commented on the creation of the series, stating that he "came up with this idea of a town in that desert where all conspiracy theories were real, and we would just go from there with that understood.""

The casts can be found here; http://podbay.fm/show/536258179

I personally find Cecil's voice to be relaxing some times. I also love the show as it is the only pod cast I know that while deep in thought also leaves you wondering what on earth just happened during it. >.<
