Running a Group Game

While I've got several possibles that might work as a group game, how exactly does one check to see if there's enough interest to make it work?

I'll go ahead and clarify, perhaps then I'll get a better response.

Instead of running a (general) fantasy game, what if I want to run a Pathfinder (RPG) one?   Or instead of a Sci-Fi game, what if I want to run a Star Wars themed one?

It should depend, my go to answer for these questions is ask JennyDK but basically you pitch the idea in group convos and just do whatever you think is necissary to build the game
