AsBloodTurnsEverCold Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) [United States of America] -------Arikara Falls, California------ The Eclipsed City Population: 4,234,034 [Economy: Low | Safety: Low | Magical Presence: High | Supernatural Presence: High | Tech: High | Intrigue: Immense | Alignment: Vile] <Heroing status: Outlawed> The "Sister City" to Nahan Springs just across the Border. it is the night to their day and seems to be its opposite mirror. It was initially founded by the "Circle of 3" who split off from Nahan Springs with a vision to make a city dedicated almost purely to the pursuit of human potential. This dream, however, was taken and subverted by the Myriad Families for their own greed. This had led to the once promising city being beaten down, exploited, and twisted in a city that acts almost like a personal piggy bank for the most selfish of people. Crime families wage war in the streets, cults conduct rituals in its underground, the people seek escape through augmentation and illicit means, and the its rich only get richer. It is a massive city with an above ground and an underground city. The above ground city is a city of lights, but deep and incomparable darkness. The laws are flimsy and often only upheld by a weakened police force. The center of the city being the most protected and where the rich tend to live with the poorest only getting poorer as the streets expand out. Under them is a massive underground city initially meant to mimic the upper-tiered build of Nahan with something more feasible. Nicknamed the true Arikara it is an even more lawless and downtrodden place full of forgotten and disregarded people. Its source of light being the odd glass that acts as a viewfinder into the true nature of Arikara Falls. The city really comes to life at night and bathed in an almost hypnotic and calming blue light meant to hide its blemishes. The city is smoggy and often overcast due to it, reflecting its dark and disgusting soul...or at least what seems to be its soul. Heroes are practically banned from the city though it doesn't stop certain heroes from trying no matter what. A battle to save a city that could be...so much more. There is an undercurrent of good no matter how hard evil tries to squeeze the city and its people. Surviving here means you can survive anywhere....but you might not be sane by the time you try.
