I'm sure I am guilty but can't remember a specific incident. Between siblings, group homes, foster care, military, I'm sure I got blamed for at least one thing I didn't do and it was easier to just take the blame than fight about it. Not guilty. Though I've known someone who encouraged doing things like that from time to time. Her thinking was that by breaking small rules, we prepare ourselves to break bigger rules - because someday you're going to be expected to follow an unjust rule that will get someone hurt or killed. Guilty, but actually stuck around to wait for the person. I watched a truck back into the side of a parked car, start to drive away, then the driver saw me, got out, and left a note under the wiper. I took pics including shots of the driver and license plate as he drove out of the parking lot. The look on his face made me think I should check his note, so I did, and it was blank. He must have pretended to write a note because he saw me and wanted the witness to just assume he did the right thing, I guess? Living on the run heightened one's situation awareness. There was an unnatural feeling of being watched which tended to grow louder within one's mind when someone was actually watching. She couldn't explain how, or why. It was particularly easy to figure out who the culprit was on this occasion, given they were located straight ahead of her, although she didn't really catch them until their gaze was already being fixed forward. The line was certainly moving along, a slow process to make sure that not just anyone was let in. A city like this has more than one way to fake an ID, and those vetting patrons needed to make sure fast ones weren't being pulled in them. Dalton was, mercifully, not someone who needed to forge credentials to get into a place like this... Especially given it wasn't his first rodeo here either.
