She could understand men being sexually frustrated. Hopefully at some point the other women would be recovered, at least as many as possible. The issue of them being slaves would have to be resolved, but it would make things easier. “Hopefully the prince can find something to help with the lack of women, throughout the kingdom.” Unfortunately the entire kingdom had suffered this fate, fixing the gender imbalance in the short term would not be easy. Mirina made a rare case of speaking up without being spoken to. To bring up an unexpected idea. Something that might resolve two problems at a time. “The Prince could investigate the stories. The land to the east, the wild women.” It was a local legend, in the lands just past their kingdom, still outside the Vanorian conquest. A strange people. Not quite human, the stories claimed they were all female, though there was some doubt about that. It was one possibility, both for an army and at least a short term solution to the lack of women, if Maxim was diplomatically successful with them.

“We should probably follow him to the house for now. See what he thinks he can do and the cost.” The other girl advised. She would not mind being in a quieter place either. Between Anahel’s presence and the current rarity of women, they were certainly getting stares from the crowd. She did feel safe, that they would not do anything, especially with Anahel present. But the desires of a number of them were clear. It would be nice to be out of the crowd for a while. Hopefully avoid anyone who thought they could pay for services in a different way. If it was just her and Mirina, she would not surprised to hear something like that eventually.

The man considered the situation, he was not going to be as generous as the merchant, but he was not corrupt or extremely greedy either. He did not intend to be unreasonable. He let out a soft sigh. “I’ll gather a few of my men. We will take a look at the place, decide how much work is necessary and what it might cost.” He stood up waited for the women to leave then followed them out to gather some of the workers.

When Aileen came in, her attention was distracted for the moment by the sight of Ashley in the dress. “Oh, looks like we both had something to give the other.” Aileen had been spending a lot of time with Ashley lately. Trying help her adjust to being a girl in other ways, the most important ways for someone who worked here. In a sense she was perfect for the job, having a woman’s body mostly, but the key piece of a man’s body as well. It was something Aileen been having a lot of fun with, and at least she believed that Ashley was making good progress. Ashley did not say anything, but had a dark blush at Aileen’s evaluation. “Wear that dress the next time I visit you…”. Aileen drew her attention away from Ashley, focusing on the real reason she came here. She turned to Anya, a sheet of paper in her hand. “That boy, Logan, visited me on the way out. Looks like you left quite the impression on him.” She had that smile still, she let Anya wait a moment, to wonder what she meant, before handing the paper over. “This might be a room for two some months down the road. He might be adding more to the activities he is buying later too.” The sheet was probably more than Anya would have guessed. Mostly returning multiple times, with the basic package. The biggest difference was he had put it on paper. They could not have a proper relationship, but he wanted her to have his child, and was paying extra to make the attempts. Aileen watched to see her reaction, Ashley too, once she had some idea what Aileen was saying.
-
Ashely was not sure whether or not to change out of it or see if they could add anything else to it. But before she could say anything, there was a knock on the door and a voice Ashley was quite familiar with. “Anya, it’s Aileen. I’ve got something to give you.” It was a cheerful, excited, voice. One Ashley knew meant Aileen had something she thought was rather interesting. Having ‘something to give her’ was also a sort of double entendres that the Futa was fond of, but she would be more than happy to give Anya that too, if she wanted. But for now, the receptionist just stood at the other side of the door, waiting to be invited in.
-
If it’s not, Aura’s getting all the prizes for that one, it looks like. Unfortunately, even if it is extended, still looks like I’ll be staying out of that one.
-
Since Anya did not say anything about where to change, Ashley took off her shirt and pants there, it took a moment to get used to it and get it on completely, but she managed well enough to get the dress on. She took a few steps back and forth. It had a different feel from she normally wore, but not in a bad way. It was the sort of thing she could see herself wearing more often.

The man nodded. "You will see many things in time. There is the occasional monster in these lands, but you see stranger things in distant lands. Non-human empires, of people who tend to be rather aggressive, with strange cultures and beliefs. I can not give you the whole list either, and you might have to ask the general for detail on some of them. But I can give you some idea. Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Demons, Centaurs. I have seen and usually fought with many of these people. They share other borders with the empire, in lands that have few if any humans. Diplomacy with them is mostly limited to peace settlements after wars, attempts to find an agreement that both sides will come to agreement on, for temporary peace before another fight. I am told they are large and powerful empires, themselves, that is why most wars only end with small territory changes if any, or tribute." "Someday, considering who your master is, you will see the imperial capitol, maybe even the emperor's palace. If you do, you may see the occasional non-human slave, though there are not many of those." He was just a slave and soldier though. He had some experience fighting some of them, but he did not know as much about them as someone like Honorious, or the scholars who studied them. "My knowledge of them is somewhat limited, but if there are any you want to know about more than others, ask, and I will tell you what I can.

The question was what to do next, he was not going to be too blunt about the obvious. If anything, it was better to try to help ease Aliana further into a Vanorian soldier. He sat on the ground to rest. He decided to return to a subject he mentioned earlier. “How much have you heard about the wider world? Beyond your home, Vanoria, and other nearby kingdoms?” A kingdom like this was pretty isolated from such things. Maybe the royalty and nobility had a little knowledge, but he guessed a random soldier did not hear much about such things, at best a few legends or rumors, that may or may not have had truth to them.
-
The blade tip lightly poked Aliana's back, lingering long enough that she could feel it and that he would had time to push it in, if it was a real fight. Then he pulled it back and sheathed his sword. "You did well. I was trying for either that or distracting you enough to reach your neck. You might have lost there, but I easily could have if you had been a little faster. You fight better than many I have fought in the past. If your whole army had your skill, we would have had a much harder time." He stepped back, to catch his breath, sure Aliana did too. It had been a good practice, hopefully calmed her down a little.
-
The attempt to get behind was one of a few strategies he was attempting. He would have to commit to one eventually, but for now he was testing which would be more effective. After sliding to the side a few more times, he decided to take the risk. It was dangerous, and probably his only chance for this idea, but he bent his knees and made an attempt to quickly get behind her, going for the full attack, if successful the sword blade's tip would touch her back. It was something that was potentially rather dangerous in a real battle, but sometimes you had to take such risk if by yourself and against an equal opponent.
-
He had to step back to catch Aliana's blade. There were going to be no easy openings here, it seemed. At some point, one of them was going to have to take a bigger risk, with the victory decided by how the other reacted. He tried shifting to the side, making a short quick stab and shifting further to the side if she caught it. Moving at varying speeds, he was seeing if he could get behind her next. Something he would not mind doing in a another context later. He could appreciate why the general wanted this one, she was appealing in many ways, as a soldier, and as a woman. He could never have her as his own, but he was grateful to have the opportunity to share her, and perhaps be the first to have her other than her master, first to take her as an equal. A true equal, as a pair of slaves. Perhaps that was another reason he wanted to show her how he could fight, to appeal to both sides of her.
-
Trying to wear Aliana down, see if she tired first, in a real fight it might have been a strategy to consider. Risky but potentially effective. In this cas e thought, he hoped to win before that. He was still taking his time, learning her technique as she attacked. He looked for any openings, any weak spots in her technique. He pushed forward, took the risk of being more aggressive. Pressing forward. For now he aimed at her chest, to mimic a wide cut across it. But it was partially a trick, trying to weaken her defenses elsewhere, to get a quick victory from a careless opening.
-
She went rather aggressively, but he could not blame Aliana for that. He blocked her sword. They went at it equally for a while, aggressive, but unable to get past the other's defense. One on one, without having to worry about others, they seemed pretty evenly matched. Was it going to be a mater of who made a mistake first, or who got tired first? Under normal circumstances a man might have the advantage here, but he was not going to underestimate a woman who was a trained soldier, and had the advantage of her emotions fueling her attack. Adrenaline might keep her going for quite a while. "That's right, don't hold back on your technique. We stop when of us touches the other with their sword in a spot that would be a fatal blow. Keep trying, you have enough skill, you might able to do it." At this point he could see either of them winning. He was certainly going for the win, but would feel no shame if he lost to this woman. She was good enough to belong in their army.

It was part of the reason Amy chose these two specifically. To see how they would react together. The closest thing Skye might get to a ‘date’ of sorts in her new place. He at times rubbed against Skye a little as they walked. It was a pretty slow pace, leading to the next observation. “It’s usually slow like this. Occasionally I try running a little with them. I might still give a short try today, but it would be an interesting experience with the three of us.” The dogs of course could run much faster than her, though they knew better. Skye being there would make it even more interesting, three rather different runners.
-
“Something like that, also just a bit of variety.” Amy did reasonably walk them all, though she tended to focus on the area on the other side of the house. “You may get this side a little more than the others. The house in general is isolated, but this side more than others.” She did sometimes do two at a time, but in this case it was a little different. Partially as male and female, and the sort of dog Skye was. “He’s extra happy being alone with us of course.” They were back in the trees now, all sorts of smells getting his attention. “He probably feels like he is protect you, maybe both of us.”
-
Amy took the two out to the area she and Skye had recently been. The lab was busy sniffing everything. Excited, but trained well, and did not pull on the leash. “They only infrequently get to explore this area. They are usually rather happy to see it.” The dog stuck to Skye’s side, but for the moment he was more focused on his surrounding than her, though her lingering scent from the first time out was part of that.
-
Amy let them relax for a little while, then went to grab a second leash. Tying that to the lab and putting Skye’s on, the the lab excitedly wagged his tail, but was otherwise calm. To be doing this with just Amy and Skye made him even happier than he had been, something that made him definitely feel superior to the other dogs, but he naturally would remain obedient to his owner. There was some jealously with the other dogs, but they would accept anything Amy decided.

“Lots of work needed there, many buildings need repair. What sort of building are you talking about?” The other girl spoke up, and gestured to Mirina. “A farm, her family’s. She is the only one left there.” The man silently considered the situation. “The farms certainly do need to be restored. Though that would be difficult with just one woman.” A family, ideally with numerous children, was the best solution for a farm. But that was a matter for the future. “For now, we can focus on the house, that my area after all. Just how much work are you looking for?” He had some guess of the sort damage a house like that here might have, he was curious if they were looking for more though.
-
Maxim had been keeping his distance, giving Anahel time with Mirina. For now he would continue do so, unless she called for him. Or if he felt it was time for them to move on to the next target. He was willing willing to hang around a little longer, let word spread about what happened, maybe even all the way to the Vanorian emperor. The three girls were on there on their own until one of those happened. “These men will likely be more insistent on payment.” The girl observed, though they would probably be content with some that came from Anahel’s magic. It took some asking around on her part, but eventually they got directions. To a ‘market’ of a different sort, men looking for physical work. Smiths, tailors, carpenters and eventually they found their way to a small building with a man behind the desk. “To be visited by the Angel who saved us all, what do I owe the honor?” He was surprised to see the angel, more surprised that she apparently brought two of the few women left in town with her.
-
The three of them made their way towards the next stop. “Are you looking to just fix up the place or making more significant work?” The other girl asked. This was something they could probably fairly find help with. People who just needed something to do. There were still probably enough men around in town to do the sort of work needed. Especially for the smaller stuff. It would be interesting to see how the house ended up. She was looking forward to seeing how it went, it was a little interesting to see how things would turn out and that the two of them seemed almost like a family now.
-
Unfortunately this is the first one since I joined that I’m going to have to skip. Maybe I’ll change my mind, but I can’t find inspiration for that one so far.
-
The merchant shook his head. "You came with prince. He might not have much money either, at the moment. But I'm sure he will pay in time." The man had a trust and respect for the prince, like his father, the late king, he was sure the prince would keep his word. Especially for something as small as this, it would be easy to pay off after the kingdom had been restored. The idea of magic money seemed a little strange too, he was sure an angel would create something real, but it was still a little different than accepting money that was already here. "I would not be bold enough to ask a favor from the being who saved our town." If some sort of emergency came up, he might consider asking, but he was not going to ask for something unless he had to. He could not give this stuff away, but he was willing to wait a while for the payment in a special case like this.
-
That was fairly expected as a response. He was unbothered by it. He decided to give Aliana a different chance to blow off some steam, hopefully distract herself a little. “Let’s try this.” He stepped back put a reasonable distance between them and drew his sword. “Just practice. But if it makes you feel any better, try attacking me.” He was reaching out to her as a fellow slave, a fellow soldier, while they would never be anything more that, perhaps there was a little man to woman as well. He would let her vent some of that aggression. Neither would hurt the other, but he still wanted her to attack seriously.
-
It was a sensitive subject he was sure, especially for her. But he gave his honest thoughts. "He is a good general. Not reckless, isn't doing this for his own personal glory or greed. You have a reason to hate him right now, but that may change." In truth he was more or less certain she would change, give in the way slaves do. Turn out the way female slaves did for their master, in time she would eagerly give herself to him. It was a little different for a man, lacking the sexual aspect, but he felt a general loyalty to his master, as well as the general and the emperor. He would not throw his life away in battle, but he would be proud if he did die fighting. He was more diplomatic about it with Aliana though, not treating it as the inevitability it very likely was.
