Caught off guard, Amon didn't show his emotion but gave the clerk a blank stare of confusion. That was until he regained his composure, "Ugm... Yes, I would still like the room, please." Amon used his manners and didn't raise his tone. Internally however, he was in a mix of joy and confusion. Joy that he got to stay somewhere for free, perhaps, he thought, the business of this island had boomed so much they didn't need to worry about payment for staying. Perhaps it was how much and the kind of merchandise they sold? But confusion that Amon didn't need to pay to stay. Maybe they had a limited time residency? "And would you happen to be hiring by any chance? You see I moved away from my old home in hopes of finding a new life. If not it's quite fine." @Lollipop

Amon raised a brow at the confused woman. She kept or composure it seemed but not in tone, regardless he had places... Err, two places to be. He didn't really have any confusion himself though, more so confidence if anything, almost as if he had something to accomplish. Though he wanted to hurry up as there was more luggage on the ship. Quietly, Amon prayed those drunken idiots on board didn't get the idea to rummage through them, and even though he's payed them to not leave until he can get the other few crates Amon wasn't entirely sure they'd keep that promise. But now it was Amon's time to be confused. Usually hotels had some form of payment right off that bat... Or was it back? Whatever the case, he was surprised to not even hear the cost of a room as the woman explained to him that he needed to sign a guest book. Trying to piece the question together Amon merely asked, "Is... There no payment method, or would I need to pay for my stay later?" @Lollipop

Had it been Hawaii, he'd certainly been in the place ideal. Away from massive cities, away from everything, more relaxing than the lake beaches in Kansas and Texas. Instead he'd accidentally bought the wrong ticket to this... Island he's been looking for. Some place to relax, maybe find a new job at the same time. Amon Vale was a young man seeking his own life, away from family, away from the chaos of everything he called "home." It was still a hell of a travel, the captain of the small vessel annoying and the crew mates always drunk. He wouldn't be missing them. Amon Vale wax originally born in Texas. By some time his father had died when Amon was young, his mother hurt and mourning. Though he was too little to understand why his father could never come home, Amon eventually learned the truth of it and it hurt him as well, causing him to lock away his emotions and swell them up in a bottle. It was devastating, but it was the past. Amon never had a perfect life, his mother constantly moved due to her need for "affection," and whatever he thought was bullshit. No, Amon didn't want such things, so he strived to become better than even himself. He gained straight A's all throughout middle and high school, and he was well known for his love for Football and Track at the time as well as Orchestra and Art. He still kept his violin after all this time, just one of few things Amon had inside one of the crates. All he really had were his information, clothes, instrument, game consoles, and seeds for cacti and succulents amongst random items needed. The young man used to hunt with his friends in Kansas while he was in highschool, learning how to shoot, hunt, and survive off the land but he only ever did it for fun. He even got the chance to use actual military weapons from Vietnam, one of his friends grandfather's allowing them to use automatic rifles and throw grenades. Oh, the time he had. Him and his friends were inseparable, always online with games, always hanging out in the summer or after school, yet all things come to an end. After graduation they all became distant, most of Amon's friends moving away or going into the military, some had jobs and started families eventually. Amon? Amon got himself a job, a rental cabin, and moved away from his mother. He wanted to make the best of his life, go on his own adventure, find some of that life or spark some magic. That was when he saved up and surprisingly he won a small lottery of fifty grand, Amon decided to leave the old world behind and find a place with less people and full of life and thrills. He wanted to make a name for himself, and that's why he decides to buy a ticket... To the wrong place! With luggage in town; a backpack full of items and two large crates on a metal cart he borrowed for a short while, Amon left the luggage outside a hotel. He walked through the doors of the building, nervous than ever. Amon was alone with no friends to help out this time, but he needed to take his life into his own hands. That meant handling things like a man. He was on his own now. Walking up to the front counter Amon asked the clerk, "Excuse me. You wouldn't happen to have any rooms available would you?"

I feel like this thread could be needed for people wanting to request an RP. Personally I don't like outright asking people if they want to participate in a topic (which is odd I know, but it's really hard for me to actually ask anyone anything really). That said, I have an RP up for anyone wanting to partake in it, I'd rather do this and gain interest from one or two people than asking them to RP. There, I'm weird and I've made it.

Now that you've mention that, it sounds like a great idea! I'm not sure what monsters exists there but I can assume it's just about anything that is thought of(?). And yes, I am fully aware that there might not be much combat in general, wasn't necessarily aiming for "combat 24/7" let alone much conflict on the island, just figured it'd be a fun job. But now that the hunter job was mentioned, I'm totally going for that. Thank y'all for the help. Now, another question about this, how in the heck would my character have found a job like this? He was originally going to be sailed over to the wrong island and stay there, so in character, what would you suggest he do? Or would the opportunity come up for him to take the helm? Sorry of this is all confusing.

So going off of an original question, I'd like my character to be staff. I was thinking more "security" as there are resorts that have those, or if that's police... I think the former. If not the maybe who helps work a souvenir shop?

Alright. I'm a bit hell-bent on this, I think a security guard type thing would work of it's alright. I'm fully aware it'll be more of a background status and the strong rules about them, he'd be played mostly as a regular customer or similar to that.

I was aiming for someone who had nothing left where he came from, left his parents abuse and been screwed over a lot. The most he has were money he saved up and just a few belongings, but the question for him is this; can my character by chance be an employee for the place? Or is it merely a visit and stay type ordeal?

Stupid question (let's be honest there's only stupid people) but before I go and post my character up, can he work for the House of Sin as a janitor? This plays into him as a character who, "Is rejected from every job due to some dumb reason." If not, it's chill.

How long does it take to recover from a breakup? Everyone knew it wasn't easy doing it, most were annoyed by the aftermath while some were glad to have gotten out of whatever relationship they were in. Some people had a U-Haul and listened to audiobooks on the way to their apartment. That said, that one person never wanted to go back to where thry came from nor live in the former house they rented. And with no one and nowhere else to turn, what was left. Just them and their belongings. Amon Veil was one of many men who really had moved far away from family and friends. The original plan was to go to college, but between trying to get away from family and cutting ties from his ex girlfriend far, far away, he didn't have the time for it. He had plenty of money to go through school but Amon wanted a home established first. Luckily, there were apartments open near where he worked so it wasn't any problem at all. No, the problem was the height of the room itself he had to carry everything up. Parking the massive truck in front of the complex building, Amon was able to get his key a short few minutes later... That turned into agonizing hours as he walked up and down the steps with heavy boxes of miscellaneous and fragile items, from game consoles to ornaments, collectables and comics to lizard tanks and dishes. It went from 11AM to 5:37PM quickly for the busy man, sweat poured on him as the last of the boxes were unloaded into the now full and vacant apartment. Amon thought of the U-Haul and parked it in the parking lot, he'd have someone come pick it up later, his vehicle already towed to the lot near the end where there was plenty of space. As he entered the apartment room, he clapped his hands together, how the hell Amon got the fridge and the bed up here was beyond him. Unpacking, hours passed as his door was left open and windows as well to allow for the co airflow to pass through. Dressers, drawers, the bed, a sofa and few chairs, even the fucking fridge were put in place. Amon was surprised that the large four room apartment was the cheap price it was. Hell, it even had one of those fancy whirlpool showers! Already Amon was halfway done, boxes broken down and others stacked up, he plopped down on the tarp covered couch and cracked open a cold Cherry Pepsi, giving himself a well rewarded drink as he leaned back. He looked at his phone, already the time was ten till 10PM. Amon cursed to himself, thinking of how long it would take to finish this. He'd be up about several hours, so this little break was something he needed.

I've got a question, a really dumb one. So I know I can add an image to the directory, but how am I supposed to add a description for a character? Is that something I'm needing to add elsewhere?

From I can tell you can request an RP in one of the threads before this one, or simply create on in Your Apartments and Beyond, see if it attracts a guy/gal (or whatever).

I'd like room 124 if y'all wouldn't mind.

I'm game. I mean I'm a dude but if there's a little room I could join in.
