As I continue to put this league together, I wanted to bring a few things up for discussion regarding our league competitions. In the Q&A thread I asked about the game types and formats we may want to use so I have an idea of who wants to do what and how to proceed with it, so if you have any input be sure to drop it there. It's an exciting time to be a Pokémon fan with Scarlet and Violet coming out soon and having us start on a clean slate yet again. No one is completely sure of what Pokémon will or will not be available when the game launches, so that is where our competitions will begin. I do know this at the moment: For our inaugural Dream League competition, we will be using Scarlet and Violet and the Paldea Pokédex. The reason that we are doing this is so that everyone can be on a level playing field for our first competition, everyone will be able to research and put their optimal teams together and no one will have an edge against anyone else. Everyone will have adequate time to prepare and we will discuss matchups when everyone is ready. If there will be prizes or not, other than bragging rights and getting experience in competitive play (or casual play, competitions will be held for it too), I'm not quite sure. This can also be discussed in the Q&A. The winner of the inaugural Dream League competition will be named our first Ecchidreams Pokémon League Champion, and they will have to defend their title in later competitions.

I'm going to start with a question of my own: Between battle formats for the Colosseum and Casual Corner, do we want to use a mix of Sword & Shield as well as Scarlet and Violet and make formats for competitions for one or the other, depending on theme and what's allowed or isn't?

This thread will be used for any general questions about the club, battles, what is or isn't allowed, etc. Basically anything that isn't specified in any of the sections or rules.

Actually, the Pokémon was revealed to be Gimmieghoul, a ghost type with a form in the treasure chest and one outside of the treasure chest! I'm gonna get one of these little reddit looking bastards and name him Bit Cause, cause he's carrying a coin? Get it? And he's a ghost? CRYPTocurrency? Eh? Eh?

The Chest is now open and there is a video that will play, it is currently saying it is private so it may not be ready yet.

If we're going to be competing and trading, we'll need to know how to get things to one another, I'm not sure how trading will work in Scarlet and Violet in terms of ease, but at least we can exchange our Switch codes to make things easier. As with the Pokémon GO codes, be sure to include the name associated with it so we know who it is coming from. Playing Splatoon, I get a ton of randos sending me requests.

Yeah, I remember them putting SO MUCH work into the marketing of Sun and Moon for the 20th anniversary and honestly, I loved them. But Scarlet and Violet it seems like they're putting less effort into really getting out there than they did even Sword and Shield, considering those were the first mainline releases on what's technically home console. And I am SO HYPED for Scarlet and Violet, maybe even more than I was for Sun and Moon's release.

Some of us might be newer fans, some of us may have started with the second, third or fourth generation or beyond. Maybe we started with the anime, the card game or a spinoff title. I personally know I was there when Ash met Pikachu. I was there for the very beginning of Pokémania, where you couldn't go literally anywhere without seeing Pokémon in some capacity. This is a thread where we look back at our memories of the franchise with fondness and share our experiences, old or new, or just share cool things about it such as links or images for events, etc.
