Overview
About This Club
Of Blighted Moons is a Vampire/Werewolf set in modern day Montana, in the city of Pine Heath.
.
Pine Heath has been around since the first settlers of the state, however predating them are the mysterious Blackthorne Family who live just East of the city. Secretly, the Blackthorne's are an old coven of vampires dating back to the Roman era. Similarly, West of Pine Heath is the Half Moon Reserve where the Midnight Wolf Pack live, finding freedom in the thick and wilds of Montana itself since just after the founding of Pine Heath. Both factions have found themselves at odds with each other, however they also abide by the laws of the land as to not bring attention to themselves from civilians and potential outside enemies.

The truck crawled up to the speed it was supposed to, seventy miles per hour was the speed limit but why not bush a little part that? Austin sped up to just seventy five, no more and no less. Reaching up to that particular speed did he go around two cars, one a minivan and the other a Sheriff's Deputy Mustang. Despite going over the speed limit the lawman didn't pull Austin over, as a matter of fact they would slow down and turn to an off ramp leaving the minivan alone. And another short few minutes later Austin took the off ramp and in the distance the Oak Parks Mall, a place he usually resents because of how busy and claustrophobic it can be. Looking in the rearview mirror to see if anyone was behind him, Austin took noticed of a black car that was not too far from him. At first he thought nothing of it, but then he felt a knot in his gut, uncomfortable and making his mood unsettled as is. At first he threw it away as paranoia given the uneasy "truce" that the Midnight Pack had with the Blackthorne Coven, with what every so often a vampire dying here and a werewolf dying there including certain members of both sides trespassing on either territory, Austin wasn't one to take chances anymore. But ignoring this feeling wasn't an option any longer, as the Alpha slowing to a stop sign his senses grew stronger. Once he came to complete stop at a sign Austin closed his eyes and breathed. He wasn't quite used to going to such a massive and heavily populated area, especially alone, going onto main street was easy enough but this was a different ball game. Easing himself once more he began to think happy thoughts. Throughout the years Austin had always compiled a list of errands to complete starting with the more important chores and working his way down. At least what he deemed as more important. The children were a good start, taking them hunting and teaching them how to camp was certainly top of the list, from there Austin would need to make sure the Gamma was properly planting the appropriate herbs and spices and not anything useless or dangerous; Spirits forbid they actually do that. Next on the list was meeting with the Pine Heath Sheriff's Office to plan out certain hunting times for the Wolfpack with the law enforcement, given that the latter owns the Half Moon Reserve, they were still prone to having a member or two stray outside of the territory and further into the woods. Why they needed the department involved was so they can bring public awareness of the dangers of hiking far from campsites and the city itself and also to help make safety concerns aware, in reality it was a way so that hunters didn't just start firing at werewolves- While usually it was a problem, it was still an occurrence that happened a good few times in the past few decades. And coming up this late summer, the little ones of the Midnight would get to go to a church camp in the Ozarks. How that would work is that since the children weren't able to transform yet (If they could at all), two of the Human parents of the pack alongside a pastor- who the pack had good relations with- can take them on the road trip which would allow the adults to commit unholy acts of lust. Four times a year, the pack goes into a heat with the Spring and Summer times only lasting a week, whilst the Fall and Winter lasting anywhere from a couple weeks to a while month and usually back-to-back. But that was in a few months, so he didn't have to worry about such things. Finally after two more turns, Austin entered the covered parking lot near the mall, stopping his vehicle and turning it off after finding a decent spot. Sighing he stepped out of the vehicle and closed the door, slipping on a Texas Longhorns ball cap. Compared to the large truck he was massive in height, donning a plain black T-shirt and jeans with work boots. He had a bushy silver beard with a bald head, the only thing sticking out aside from the man's massive frame were the various tribal tattoos that littered his arms and neck. The Alpha used the key fob to lock the truck and proceeded forward toward the massive shopping center... -

Eliana sat in the backseat of a black vintage sedan that looked expensive enough to belong in another century. It rolled silently through Pine Heath’s quiet streets, untouched by the rattling imperfections of modern life. No engine noise. No radio. Only the faint tap of gloved fingers against the polished armrest inside. Her crimson eyes lingered lazily out the tinted window as storefronts drifted past one by one. Small town America. How unbearably quaint. The Night Mistress of the Blackthorne Family had crossed oceans, empires, and centuries only to find herself trapped in a town where people worried about grocery sales and lawn care. It should have driven her insane. Instead, it merely exhausted her in a very old, familiar way. The sunlight overhead should have burned her alive. Instead, enchanted black lace veils draped beneath the sedan’s roof dimmed the lethal rays into something tolerable, bathing the interior in perpetual dusk. Ancient magic woven into thread by hands long dead. One of the few luxuries she still appreciated. Evelina rested her cheek against her knuckles, expression distant. “…I miss the plague years,” she murmured. From the driver's seat, her chauffeur remained perfectly still. “Understandable, my lady.” Not even a beat. “People were more honest while dying.” The old vampire’s gaze drifted toward the streets again just as an obnoxiously loud pickup truck rattled through the intersection nearby. The sound alone was enough to pull her from her thoughts. Crimson eyes narrowed slightly. Old Dodge. Poor muffler. Smelled of pine, gasoline, dirt roads… And wolf. Well, that was mildly more interesting. She watched the truck pass through the sunlight, her expression remaining deceptively neutral, though the air inside the car grew subtly heavier. Predatory instinct stirred beneath ancient boredom like something massive shifting in deep water. “Austin Windcaller,” the chauffeur spoke calmly before she even asked. “Alpha of the Midnight Pack.” Evelina hummed quietly. “So the mutts still reside here.” Rhetorical, but the chauffeur answered anyway. “They do.” The truck disappeared further down the road toward the highway, country music faintly audible even through closed windows. For a moment, she simply watched it leave. Then unexpectedly, she smiled. It was small. Sharp. Interested. “…Follow him.” Hesitation, “My lady?” Her lips curled into a mischievous grin, bearing a fang on the rearview mirror. Though not like she had a reflection to show it off. “I wish to see whether age has made werewolves wiser or simply slower.” The chauffeur sighed almost imperceptibly before turning the wheel. Outside, Pine Heath continued its sleepy Sunday morning, completely unaware that one of Europe’s oldest monsters had just decided she was bored enough to involve herself in local affairs. -

Blackthorne Characters
love_and_poprocks replied to BladeRunner's topic in Of Blighted Moons's Character Workbench
Name: Lady Eliana Blackthorne Age: Appears 29 | True Age: Approximately 540 years old Species: Vampire Sex: Female Gender: Woman Sexuality: Bisexual Role: Vampire Rank: Night Mistress of the Blackthorne Family Personality: Evelina is unnervingly elegant, carrying herself with the grace expected of one born into one of Europe’s oldest vampire bloodlines. Time has worn away much of her passion for ordinary pleasures, leaving behind an apathetic amusement toward most things around her. She rarely grows angry, rarely grows excited, and rarely appears surprised. To outsiders, she can seem soft-spoken and strangely harmless, a noblewoman with sleepy eyes and a faint smile. Those who know her understand that the calmness comes from absolute confidence. Very little in the world poses a threat to her anymore. She possesses deeply eccentric tastes cultivated over centuries. Evelina enjoys funeral processions, decaying cathedrals, old poetry written by dying lovers, and keeping strange company simply to observe how people unravel around her. She often disappears for weeks without explanation, returning with obscure relics, half-dead travelers, or new “pets” she loses interest in just as quickly. Despite her detached demeanor, she is highly intelligent and terrifyingly perceptive. She notices shifts in tone, lies hidden beneath compliments, and fear masked behind courage almost instantly. She simply chooses whether acknowledging them is worth the effort. Evelina is not openly cruel, which somehow makes her worse. Her punishments are calm, intimate, and utterly merciless. That said, she has been known to show to a few the softer parts of her personality. Appearance Details: For someone of her caliber is surprisingly short, standing at five feet three. Evelina possesses pale skin with cool gray undertones, giving her the appearance of marble beneath candlelight. Her dark hair is thick and curled, usually pinned into elegant Eastern European styles popular among old nobility, though loose strands frame her face intentionally. Her eyes are a muted crimson, glowing brighter whenever hunger or irritation surfaces, though most of the time they appear to be a muted amber shade. Combined with her delicate features and soft expression, the effect is deeply unsettling rather than overtly monstrous. She favors high-collared gowns in black, deep burgundy, and wine-red velvet accented with antique silver jewelry. Lace gloves, gemstone chokers, and embroidered corsetry are common parts of her wardrobe. Even at rest, she looks aristocratic, like a portrait hanging in a forgotten castle. Evelina will wear modern clothes if she is amongst the human population of Pine Heath. In her monstrous form, Evelina becomes a massive bat-winged horror with elongated limbs, blackened claws, and vast crimson membranes stretching from her arms like torn royal curtains. Her face becomes partially bestial while still retaining traces of feminine beauty, making the transformation all the more disturbing. Lesser vampires instinctively lower their gaze in her presence. Only those old enough are able to pull off this beastial transformation. Other Details: Considered one of the oldest living vampires outside the Dracula lineage. Fluent in several dead languages and archaic dialects. Sleeps hanging upside down within the cathedral crypt beneath Blackthorne Manor rather than in a coffin when feeling restless, which is often. Keeps a blind human choir solely because she enjoys hearing them sing in the dark. Rumored to have personally executed three previous heirs of the Blackthorne bloodline for sport. Her butler has served her family for nearly four centuries and fears her more than death itself. -
Pine Heath Town

May 10th, 10:25 A.M. 12th and Parker "Main Street," Pine Heath Sunday morning went about as well as it usually did, slow and steady. In the large, sleepy town of Pine Heath, business fluctuated with the traffic usually hitting at the hours of 6 AM, 12 PM, and 5 PM, usually with the city going into a near dead silence at night save for the overnight workers, party animals, and the occasional night owl. Today was no different, the sunny and warm Montana day was ideal for people to come out and participate in activities or take care of errands. Most folks were either off enjoying the day and staying home or working, business as usual. And that much was true for one (or more) particular individual(s). An old Dodge pickup truck was driving down Main Street, the engine a bit loud no thanks to the muffler that fell off long ago. Despite it being nearly twenty years old, it still ran... Decently. In recent times the old thing was running a tad bit heavier and struggled during certain times of the year. Despite how much he fixed on it, his pride and joy was running a lot rougher than what he's used to. Austin Windcaller was one of the oldest members of Pine Heath, never residing in town but rather the Half Moon Reserve where his home was; the very same reserve where his pack lived. As the truck made its way down the street he would notice how quiet it actually was, save for the stray vehicle and bystander here and there. Usually there would be more people out and about but Austin wasn't about to complain, less traffic meant more time to take his time running errands. Well, not necessarily errands, just spelunking around and getting a break from the Midnight. Days like this was when the Alpha of the Midnight Pack could step away and get some time to himself, he wasn't opposed to one or two of his members coming along and if any had. The trip to the city was filled with silence and music from the country station he chose. His truck, his rules. Austin sighed as soon as he stopped at a red light, so far his thoughts were empty but... He could go shopping...? It wasn't usually his forte, however the older he got the more he wanted to actually get out and do things, said things didn't even have to involve money just more a matter of fucking around. "I suppose the mall sounds good..." Austin said to himself, pulling onto the highway that would lead into another ten minutes of driving. -

Fuck it, I pussyfooted long enough. I'll have an Austin post in one of the Pine Heath topics tonight. If any of y'all wanna join be my guest. As for my recent outside characters, despite there still being work to do on them, they're available. Got Eric who helps his grandfather, Samuel (another PC), run a farm just outside of Pine Heath; both of which are werewolves but change very, very rarely. I have Bella, Eric's sister, also available as well, however she's Human.
-
I suppose getting out would help. Probably an outdoor mall sounds good enough to me, now is this in regards Austin or Kabiki? Wanted to ask, I'm powering off of the last braincell I have, so just wanted that clarification
-
Sorry, I disappeared as well. Not my intention. What about a diner space? Or a sort of outdoor mall with the old shops on Main?

Pat tossed the stub of his cigar to his side . He listened intently to the pair as they speak. He stood up from his log curiosity getting the better of him. They smelled off to him and it was late to be hunting. Reaching into his pocket for his second cigar he followed them straight to the river staying close to foliage as to not be seen Well almost he partly didn't care if they saw him it was his night to relax. He looked at his surroundings a simple Montana. He once fought a man from Montana musket ball split his head open. Still the names he was hearing was new apparently some newcomers to town, perhaps he should scout out their property later introduce himself. It was after all polite to introduce on self to new neighbors. Pat leaned on a tree as he listened to their story about a predator getting his comeuppance reaching for his matchbook. Striking the match he puffed on his cigar lightly singing " hurrah for the Bonnie blue flag that bears a single star" under his breath.
-
I suppose I'm back. Will get those characters done up, beyond that, I've got Austin (Alpha/Midnight) and Kabiki (Blackthorne). I know there's one of y'all with a little shop I intend to get involved with here soon, but if y'all got ideas, suggestions, or plot points you'd want to visit, lemme know. I'm your huckleberry.

"If you say so... She just turned eighteen didn't she? How uhh... You know if she's available?" One of the guys asked. "Ain't worth it," The other responded, "Besides if Eric gets back home soon, would you rather deal with his wrath, or the Old Man's? Never stick your dick in crazy, had an uncle who did that and he became a baby daddy to a psyche ward, whole god-damned family was nothing but drama." There was a pause and then the first man continued, "Fair point. Fair point. But still-" "She's bisexual, leaning more towards chicks if I remember right." As the men finished packing up their kill, rifles slung around their bodies, they would decide to leave the remains with a little bit of meat leftover onto it for the local wildlife. No need to get greedy. Once they packed their bags full of the packaged meat, the pair headed toward a river nearby, one taking a turn to wash their hands and arms whilst the other held the equipment. "Bro that's fucking lame! How come the chicks I like are either bi or gay?!" The same guy asking about Bella exclaimed. The other shrugged, finishing washing his hands, "Beats me, maybe it's a sign from God that you need one of them country gals. Shit, knowing your luck, might end up getting rejected by one that's lesbian." "Don't jinx it, dude, can't go online dating anymore after the whole stalker thing with Gerald." "Wait, you had that meathead stalk you?" The second man handed the equipment and bags over and started to make his way toward the river bank, "Yeah, how'd you not hear about that? Son of a bitch was cat fishing young men and was kidnapping them, sheriff found a lot of bodies buried in the guy's dad's farm. Guess I was the wrong and last one, busted through a window with a trench knife and I put a bird shot right into his face. Somehow survived, but that happened... What, three years ago? Kinda feel bad for Gerald's dad, man's nicer than most."
-
Pat turned around his quiet evening seemingly at an end. He preferred to be alone, though perhaps his nose was failing him he should've smelt the fresh kill then again he is smoking a cigar.turning around even with the camouflage they were easy to see for him
-
//Sorry for the wait boss, been busy with work.// In the distance there was some twig snapping. At first it could've been a branch falling from a tree however it happened several other times. And if one were to carefully listen, it sounded like footsteps somewhere behind one Pat. And soonafter, the sound of talking, quiet, but audible to the werewolf. "How you feel about Eric coming back?" A young male said, possibly no older than eighteen. A second male replied, "Not sure. I know Bella'll be happy, his old man? Don't know." Two young men were in the process of cleaning an elk they had hunted, already having it skinned and now they were carving out the meat and wrapping it all up in individual Ziploc and saran wrap. The second hunter was now starting beginning to make cuts around the rips, careful not to slice anything other than edible flesh. The pair had hunting shotguns and were dressed in hunting gear to help blend in with their surroundings, even going as far as to paint their faces in blacks, browns, and greens. "C'mon you were up the guy's ass the entire time he was here!" The first hunter said. "Dude that's because of his sister! She's scary as shit when you say no! Ain't trying to fuck with the consequences." The second replied and now stood up.

Pat was a solitary man, in the decades he has been alive he has never re married not ever since the war. he chewed on his cigar sitting on a log staring out at the pasture. well as he sat at the edge of the woodland looking into the pasture. He both loved and hated the woods. loved for it was a solitary place for him to sit and ponder, loathe as it looks exactly like all of those battles he survived so long ago. The books talked of the big battles of regiments standing shoulder to shoulder, what they dont tell you is the brutal and bloody hand to hand combat that went through the forests and valleys, in fact most of the war was fought amongst the trees. this particular patch remind him of Shiloh. as angry as he was back then he never got used to Grant's tactic of throwing men at their lines. Of course it worked didn't it. of course something else was there weren't there.

Outside and Human Characters
BladeRunner replied to BladeRunner's topic in Of Blighted Moons's Character Workbench
//WIP So Ecchi doesn't eat the post I'm making// Name: Samuel Breach Age: 147 Sex: Male Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Rank: Omega Species: Timber Wolf Personality: Samuel is a reserved man who keeps to himself, quiet and really only speaks when spoken to. He simply watches and observes, making mental notes of who is decent and who isn't, having already known the townsfolk of Pine Heath for several decades now. He can be a bit of smart ass as well, having quips for when they're needed and not as well, he tends to speak his mind if he feels the need to. With owning the Crescent Breach Farms, Samuel tends to stick mostly to raising cattle and horses, he takes his ranching business seriously and hires/fires only if necessary. Despite being a Werewolf, Samuel rarely ever changes and is a stray compared to actual Omegas of a pack, preferring to stay with no ties to any packs. However, he has done business with the area's Midnight Wolf Pack, selling livestock when the time is ripe and even has a safe house in case their members need it; that said, only in cases of dire straits. Appearance Details: Samuel stands at 5'10" as a Caucasian, middle-later aged man. While in his "Golden Years" the man is quite fit for herding and raising farm animals, granted he has no ripped six pack of abs, he indefinitely is muscular. Samuel had golden eyes with silver hair, normally wearing jeans, a shirt with a leather coat with some boots, and topped off with a Western styled hat. In his wolf form, Samuel stands at 8'5" and has a thicker coat of various earthy tones, but one can easily see the silvers and greys in the fur. Other Details (Optional): Name: Belladonna Breach Age: 19 Sex: Female Gender: Female Sexuality: Bisexual (inexperienced) Rank: N/A Species: N/A Personality: Belladonna Breach is an excitable girl who is always looking to go out for a bit of fun. She's a bit of a troublemaker, whether it's breaking into old warehouses and factories just to explore or speeding down the roads at night, even getting into fights on occasion for shits and giggles. To match her mischievous nature Bella is witty and curious, always trying find something new whether it's to investigate or look at. Appearance Details: Other Details (Optional): Name: Eric Breach Age: 32 Sex: Male Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Rank: N/A Species: Timber Wolf Personality: Appearance Details: Other Details (Optional): -
Sorry, hopefully none of that is too confusing. I will be running a plot where there'll be an investigation of a rumor of another pack that's moved in, it'll be a slow burn, but the same goes for Blackthorne and how a new coven has popped up. I think I'll also be (very slowly) working on a plot of Austin passing the torch of Alpha, given we don't have a whole lotta peeps on here quite yet, that too will be a slow burn. If you've got any plots for characters or anything else you wanna explore, give me a holler. That will be fine with Human NPCs if you'd like. Just don't go too crazy, I know I'll have some whipped up here pretty soon. That said, I'll have an interaction with your character here in a few days, I'm in the middle of my work week so it might take a good minute. Apologies for the wait.
-
I'd be happy to help! It'll give me something to do in between moments I'm moving stuff over my extended weekend. Oh I missed there was another page - I thought owner might still need help making human npcs ^^;
-
No totally take your time. I just want to make sure any character I make does your vision. So more details the better. When things calm down of course.
-
Actually outside of the pack. Pretty much normal... Semi-normal people who just live around Pine Heath but do have awareness/some connection to the pack in one way or another. They aren't Omega's either, actual people that aren't aligned with Blackthorne or Midnight. They'll be posted in the "Outside and Human Characters" page I made, at least one I whip them up. I'll need a solid minute to get a good plot or two thought up, I'm.in the world week, so I'll be posting something in regards to that.
-
So like normal family members in the pack? I just want to make sure I understand
-
If you wanna help that'd be fine. I was planning of making some actual characters (not NPCs) that really weren't tied to any one group (so pretty much this thing called normalcy), but not a whole of thought comes to mind in regards to plot. I know the son would be coming home from the military (medical discharge) so there's that if that's anything to go off of. I know the two characters (or three) are a family of farmers, a father, son, and daughter, who are just living their lives in Pine Heath. And yes, they're one of the very few individuals who know about vamps and werewolves. It'll take me a minute to get them going but they'll be posted here soon(ish). Do you have any plots/characters you wanna explore?
-
Do you need help making the characters? Are there specific story plots you want?
