“Ye might want to quit struggling, girly. All yer squirmin’ is givin’ me a right stiff on!” The man barks out, laughing with his friends as he bounces Celestia in his lap. There was no sign of Collin in the crowded tavern, despite her cries, and the man’s hands are beginning to wander

“Yer a soft lil good luck charm, ain’tcha!” He growled in her ear as his large and filthy hands groped at one of her ample breasts. He squeezed so hard that Celestia could not help but to wriggle and try to escape his grasp once more.

“Coll--!” Her scream was cut short as she felt the drunkard grind his stiffness into her rump. One of his hands gripped both her wrists tightly above her head while his other hand traveled down from her breast, past her navel, and to the inside of her left thigh. She sat completely still, eyes wide in panic as the man grabbed a handful of her robes.

“Mmmmm ye smell nice, too,” he whisper as he buried his nose into her silver hair and inhaled deeply. Celestia had never been more frightened or more vulnerable than at that moment. She sat as still as she possibly could, while scanning the crowd with just her eyes.

Collin....help me...please....

She silently pleaded for her friend, her knight, her champion, as the hand on her thigh gripped and tried to part her legs. Her body trembled with fear, but...there was something else. Something she had never experienced before. It felt...wrong...and she was disgusted that her body would betray he so.

When the tears began to form in her eyes, she heard his voice.

"I'm only going to state this once, and I'll use small words for the sake of your compromised understanding... Let-Her-Go."

“Collin……”

The belligerent man glared at the holy knight, not wanting his fun to be ruined. “Ye can have her when I’m through with her,” he barked as he bounced Celestia in his lap again.

The two men who were not involved in the game stood up and moved around the table to block the knight from his ward

“He’ll be gentle so she won’t be completely ruined when ye have yer turn,” the first man said while the other one cackled. Both men were clearly as impaired as the first, their stances hardly stable enough to keep them standing

By now, the group had drawn some attention. The music was just a bit quieter, the rabble just a little more hushed, all waiting to see how the knight would respond. But not a single soul came to his aid. It was one man against four. With those odds, Celestia was not sure for whom she was more frightened.

While she was distracted, watching Colling square off against the men, the drunkard holding her took that moment to grab a handful of her hair and tried to force his lips on hers.

“Come ‘ere, girly. Give ol’ Pat a smooch.”

Collin didn't budge but he could feel his heart racing as the others stood from the table and took their places against him. Collin could have gone for his sword and ended this quickly. But a holy knight murdering four drunks in a tavern does not look favorably on their mission. But they way the heathen kept groping Celestia had awoken something inside him that he did not expect to feel. Jealousy, hate, and desire, these feelings festered in Collin's gut until he felt he was about to burst and he couldn't contain himself much longer with how this defilement continued. Collin's lips lifted revealing gritted teeth in a near snarl until it curved into an unassuming smile. His fists relaxed and and he found a strange sense of calm coming over him as he looked to the three standing males protecting their fiendish friend.

"Forgive me, I had assumed that drink had clouded your judgement. I see now that you are all merely hard at hearing in this noisy establishment." Collin's smile widened as he brought his hands together. "So I'll say it one more time for the hearing impaired." Without warning, Collin lunged his head forward, an aggressive and sudden attack but effective and well aimed. His forehead collided with the man standing directly in front of him. He could feel the nasal bridge breaking beneath his own skull sending blinding pain into the thug. Collin lifted his knee next as his head recoiled from the impact. The knee went between the legs of his first target and stunned his future generations in a single blow as testicles were crushed beneath the boned impact of his armored clad knee. The man could barely let out a cry of pain when Collin swung his elbow to clock right into the jaw and send him crashing down to the floor.

Collin was still outnumbered three to one and would have to even the odds more in his favor. When the others attacked Collin knew he had to disable one of them in a single blow or risk quickly getting overwhelmed. He lifted his boot and brought it down against one of his attacker's knees to force it to bend in the opposite direction until the knee gave a sickening pop of displacement. The assailant could only wail in agony as he fell to the flood cradling his broken knee like a child and now the knight found himself with only two men left.

Unfortunately that new information did not protect him from what was about to happen. Collin had turned to face his third opponent only to receive an enclosed fist to his mouth. The impact was powerful and practiced. The knight flew back a few steps trying to find his footing again until he stopped. His lip was now busted open and blood flowed freely down his chin in droplets that mirrored the new throbbing pain. But for his beloved, he was not going to give an inch. He watched as his attacker pulled a knife from his belt and held it menacingly. The two collided and Collin kept a grip on the man's wrist before throwing him onto a table and prying the knife into his own hand. He lifted it over head and a scream from the barmaid reminded him of the restraint he needed! He brought the knife down beside the man's head before punching him in the throat to temporarily seal his windpipe. As he laid there gasping and coughing for air, Collin rolled him onto the floor and finally made his way back to Celestia and the brute. Blood still dripping down his chin as he tried to regain his lost breath from exertion. "Let-her-go.... and you may be able to walk out of here with all your limbs in tact."

As the disgusting lech’s lips closed the distance to her own, Celestia lost whatever composure she maintained and released a loud and wordless scream. In her mind, even a simple kiss would break her vow of chastity and she refused to fail on her mission so soon. But what could she do? Her wrists were still held tight and she head was trapped by the grip he had on her hair. She was still seated in his lap, so kicking was an impossibility. There was nothing for her to do.

But just when she was certain the purity of her lips was lost, there was a loud crash  and uproar. Collin was fighting for her. Her knight was there to rescue her. And how heroic! The way he so easily dispatched such a large man. Then she realized her lips were still free from violation. The man holding her was as distracted as she was by the scene.

Now's my chance!

Celestia lifted her right leg and, with all her might, brought the heel of her dainty foot down on the leather covered toes of her capture. He let out a wail and a slur of curses she’d never before heard, before tossing her roughly from his lap. She collided with the table so hard, it knocked the wind from her lungs, leaving her dazed for just a moment too long.

“Yer a fiesty one! Yer gonna owe me more than a kiss fer that, girly, Let’s go.”

But before he could reach for her, another one of his men was done. Frustrated at the turn of events, he grumbled loudly and spat on the floor at Celestia’s feet.

“Ah she ain’t worth the time!” He announced loudly, grabbing his ale and pushing roughly past Collin, while the last man made his escape into the crowd and leaving Celestia alone and shaking after the ordeal.

"Fucking pig..." Collin cursed under his breath as the coward fled and left his friends behind to pay for his lapse in judgement. A rogue drop of blood spilled from his split bottom lip down his chin and throat before being soaked up by the collar of his shirt.

Collin used his boot heel to kick one of the drinks out of the way of his path to Celestia and when he laid eyes on her, all the agression was drained from him almost immediately. His arms dropped to his sides and the aches and pains came alive like fire from the onset of such violence. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves which only caused his lip to throne more in livened pain. The onset of a headache could be felt as well, both from the adrenaline of the fight and the opening headbutt he used to ignite the encounter.

Collin reached his hand out to her to offer to help her to her feet. "Perhaps that's enough excitement for one day Celeste."

Seeing the fight come to it’s anticlimactic end, the crowd that was gathered around dissipated and the lively music began again. Their disappointment was evident and Celestia could scarcely comprehend their reaction. Did these people actually want to see her come to harm? Were they hoping for more bloodshed? It was no wonder she was warned of such places and it confirmed her initial deduction. The people in that tavern needed guidance...but she was ill equipped as she was to provide it. She felt violated, but worse yet, she felt defeated.

When she looked at Collin’s dirtied armor and saw the pain of his injuries in his posture and on his face, she felt even more useless. Her dear friend was hurt because she was no good at...well...anything. The tears that she’d manage to hold back until this point broke free and spilled from her lilac eyes. She looked down in shame as she placed her hand in his and, with great effort, came to her feet.

“I am so sorry, Collin...I should not have wandered away. I thought...I thought I could help him. I was foolish and this is all my fault.” Her voice was barely above a whisper, catching as she sobbed gently. “Please...at least allow me to tend to your wounds tonight. It is the least I can do...it is likely all I can do…”

Watching the tears escape Celeste's eyes and crawl down her face awoke a brand new emotion inside the knight that he had not fully prepared himself for, remorse. She had lived her whole live inside the safety and comfort of the temple with the few exceptions where he stole her away for their picnics together. They had completely failed to prepare her for the real world. Evil had only been a concept and she just had her first glimpse, thankfully a minor one into the wickedness in the hearts of men. Despite how angry he was at the temple for failing her, it was overshadowed by the guilt his own heart carried. He had failed her too, not only had he failed to prepare her for the dangers but he let down his guard and allowed her to be attacked so publicly.

He had almost completely forgotten about his busted lip and reached up to take her face in his hands. His thumbs gently brushed the tears away from her cheeks as he locked eyes with her for a solid moment before allowing his arms to open and wrap around her. A brief instant of hesitation before those arms coiled tightly around her waist and back and he held her close to his chest. "It's alright now." He stated calmly before breaking the embrace and taking her gently by the arm in his hands. "Let's get you upstairs."

Though it wasn't the most ideal location for them to stay the night, it did provide them with a soft and warm bed and that was enough for him. When he opened the door he escorted Celeste inside to a rather underwhelming site. A single bed, as if that wasn't enough there was a bath tub with only a small privacy wall between the back of the bed and the tub. Collin's face paled at the complete lack of adjacent furniture and quietly determined in his head the fact that this room was meant for use to a certain clientele that only needed the room for a few hours and not a full night. Not even a table to eat dinner on or a chair for him to sit in. He looked at her and a sudden fear of her thinking he had planned this came over him. "It's not much but this is your room. I'll be right outside the door."

The moment his thumb brushed her cheek, she felt warm again. But this was a familiar warmth, one Celestia quickly understood to mean that she enjoyed Collin's touch. Not the foreign warmth she felt just moments ago while a strange man...violated her. This soft touch stopped her world from spinning and brought her back to herself. She had a mission to fulfill, a holy calling. One unfortunate event would not deter her, would not frighten her, would not make her stray.

When he wrapped her in his arms, Celestia immediately returned the embrace, gripping Collin's tunic with her small hands and feeling safe in his arms before he released her. She even managed a faint smile. "Yes, we should get some rest before we begin our work tomorrow. And I really should tend to your injury." Her smile faded as she saw the spilled blood, her hand reaching up to gently cup the side of his face. The gesture was tender, innocent, and sweet, but she had never touched him in this way. She felt lost in the sensation of his warmth beneath her hand. She wondered why they had never shared moments like these before... then she took her hand away, color filling her cheeks.

As they entered their quarters, her blush deepened. The room was not as she expected...and the sounds coming from the neighboring rooms were salacious at best.

"It's not much but this is your room. I'll be right outside the door."

"Outside? But you need to rest! Especially after that...brawl! Collin, please, come in and allow me to tend to your injury."

Without waiting for his reply, she took one of his hands in both of hers and gently led him into the room. "Please, sit here," she indicated the bed and began to rummage through her bag for the items she needed: a clean cloth and the canteen of water. "Tell me where it hurts most."
